Outer Wilds is a first person free roam game with 22 minutes to save the galaxy. It's Groundhog Day at the end of the Universe, with beautiful environments and unique game play. In a small universe on the brink of catastrophe take your ship and explore the galaxy, picking up clues to help you along. Every time you fail, you start again with all the knowledge you've acquired in an attempt to stop the sun from exploding. The path ahead of you isn't always clear, but the ships log can help you a bit. In those dire moments, you can't figure the next move, sit back and watch the glorious supernova, wake up and get back to it. The exploration alone is enough to keep most glued to the game, and the intrigue makes it a worthwhile experience. The controls are a bit heavy, and feel under-explained, making early game play rough, but once you learn how to better control the ship, and some of the tools, life gets easier. A lot of the controls feel like the could be worked on, but the overall experience well makes up for it. Outer Wilds is an amazing experience, that is barely detracted from with the hefty controls. Exploration at it's finest, and a fun feel, Outer Wilds is a must for those after a grand adventure in space. Expand

The controls take a bit of getting used to, mostly because they're not dumbed down to save you from yourself, you'll need to get proficient at piloting your spacecraft but once you've spent some time glancing of asteroids you'll get the hang of it (and maybe even get good enough to land on a tiny station orbiting closely around the sun). An open world (universe) waits for you to pick over and find out what happened to an ancient race of scientists and why the damn sun keeps blowing up. If you're persistent and a little clever you'll find out.

The sense of discovery in this game is unmatched, even compared to games that are infinitely more vast such as No Man's Sky. Constantly surprising, Outer Wilds is my game of the year without a doubt.

Muy buen juego de exploración de una mini-galaxia, con controles y gráficos cumplidores. La propuesta es muy original y la historia engancha, lo recomiendo y está en el Game Pass. :)

Outer Wilds doesn’t hold your hand along your expedition through space and time, you’re expected to find your way while piecing together a captivating narrative. Don’t worry, you can always try again when you fail.

OW has pulled me into its world as only games could back in my childhood.

wonderful game! go in as blind as you can and try to solve each and everything on your own . it'll even get emotional from time to time and the soundtrack is really good!

Graphics are a little outdated though, but as i read that this idea was sort of an university exam i'm still amazed!

This DLC proves again what artwork the entire game is, and how talented the developing studio is. This DLC creeps out more than some horror games, in a very subtile way.

Outer Wilds is obviously nothing more than what it claims to be, and that's a small open-world adventure puzzler. Despite this simplistic presentation, it's at the #1 spot on my list of favorite games and for good reason, as it combines an emotional narrative with thought-provoking puzzles and a breathtaking world that imbues a sense of childhood wonderment in my heart. Please, if you can afford it, play Outer Wilds and see it through to the end.

The game is just like fresh wind, plays great, not much interaction with other characters and some puzzles are iritating. But it is really worth the price.

You have 22 minutes to explore a creatively designed, open universe before your galaxy comes to an end. You gather clues at your own pace, unlock new areas and discover further reaches of the galaxy as you read through the lore scrolls and notes scattered across the varied planets. A Majora’s Mask type gameplay loop in a smaller and much more beautiful version of a No Man’s Sky style universe with Myst like puzzles and intrigue.

    Scoring Breakdown

Story: 10/10 — A sci-fi story of space exploration, scientific discoveries and time travel. Well-written hours and hours of intriguing lore.

Music: 10/10 — The menu screen opens with a banjo-based band that sets the wild-west tone for the game with throwbacks to space cowboy shows like Serenity. The music is an excellent fit for the setting and will get stuck in your head.

Graphics: 8/10 — More No Man’s Sky grade graphics without the realism of Star Citizen. Small studio with a low budget, but this did not affect the gameplay in any significant way.

Gameplay: 10/10 — One of the best parts about the game — a Majora’s Mask style loop of certain and impending doom is absolutely addictive and allows for short 22 minute play throughs between “saves.” It’s not about what you unlock — more about what you learn —- that helps you progress through the story and the galaxy. Every time I died, I couldn’t wait to get back to the last planet I was on and open the door that had just barely slipped out of my reach.

World Design: 10/10 — Absolutey awesome and unparalleled, varied and finely-crafted planets with hours of exploration. From the first time I played to hours in I still feel that sense of smallness when I take off from the home-world planet.

Characters: 8/10 — The characters are hilarious. They just don’t talk. The absence of voice acting is one of the only negatives in this game and again likely due to budget constraints of the small studio.

    Overall: 9/10 AMAZING GAME!

This is a nearly perfect game but for the fact that there is no voice acting and the characters look fairly generic. Once I got into the story loop and started understanding the universe, I couldn’t stop thinking about this game and its Myst-like puzzles and the secrets of the Nomai’s scientific breakthroughs and otherworldly discoveries.

Jogo muito bom, a exploração não é vasta, porém grande o suficiente para se aventurar bastante, o jogo não te ensina nada ter a que aprender sozinho conversando com os NPCs

    Interstellar meets Groundhog:

I gamepass'd it and got all the achievements. Took a little over 20 hours to complete but this is a good example of quality over quantity. The game is great fun with tons of atmosphere, profound moments and interesting planets to explore. When the credits were rolling, I was content with how the game ended and was happy to collect the last few achievements.

    Here are my complaints:

Space ship controls are a little primitive and the ship log is only accessible on the ship. I understand the need to have simple controls but once you get the hang of them you'll wish you could do more advanced techniques like matching orbits. It would also be nice if you could access the ship log remotely. I can't count how many times I lost the ship and had to skip to the next cycle to check to see if I missed something. Maybe there is a way but I couldn't find one.

If you like exploring and already have gamepass, it is a must try and if you have $25 bucks, I would say that's a fair price.

I'm not sure I can compare Outer Wilds to anything else, it's just such an incredible and unique experience. It's the purest kind of exploration and discovery I've ever experienced in a game, and it drives you purely with the promise of gained knowledge and an understanding of everything going on around you.

It has a mechanic that after your first special trip starts a counter that will be resetting the solar system every 22 minutes. It's on the Xbox Game Pass.

    The bad:
If you hate cartoonish graphics, this is not for you. If you like to take the time to research, explore and search for things but don't like being chased away over time, this is not your game. You can't do everything. You have to train a lot to learn minimally to land, to repair in zero gravity and survive, this is important since after the first trip the rest of the explorations are already against the clock and the worst thing that can happen is that you spend 22 minutes repairing the ship or trying to land on a very small platform that is spinning at high speed. No, as such there is no clock that will mark what is missing, but you will hear how the background song changes and you will "see the light". Difficult achievements.

    Meh !:
With the "Hall of Fame" promotion I installed this game thinking about Obsidian's The Outer Worlds and I was hooked by the curiosity of knowing what happens next and trying "what if you do this, what if ...". The achievements have little or nothing to do with the story, you get them for doing **** (launch your ship through a gravity cannon, die in 60 seconds, what is this button for?, Crash brutally, try to escape ... ), you spend a cycle doing something silly
