    Amazing game. Music is awesome, character design is awesome, story is amazing.
    Just wish they could have reduced the number of quests, there are a lot of pointless quests in the game.

    I went into this after getting hooked on nier: automata. It is an amazing experience that I'd recommend to anyone, whether they like gameplay, story or both. 10/10

    No spoilers! Don't compare to automata they are different games. But the story that unfolds is breathe taking and once the story actually starts to unfold it doesn't stop. If you like automata or just amazing stories and characters you will find it here.

    And lastly the game runs flawlessly on my original Xbox one. No framerate issues. Most games don't run this well and had to bring it up. Yako toru (please tell me I spelled his name right) I am a huge fan of your work and can't wait to see what is in store for us.

    Pros:

    Night and day difference in terms of visuals compared to the original. Fantastic combat upgrade that removes the slow, clunky combat of the original with something more akin to NieR Automata. The arranged soundtrack does what I felt was impossible, it improved on the original in just about every way.
    Fantastic boss fights that are very cinematic.

    Cons:
    Side quests are fetch quests.
    Can get repetitive after the second playthrough.
    The improved combat system makes the game easier.

    NieR Replicant 1.22+a bunch of numbers is a great remake of the original game. It fixes all of the major issues with the original. The original, while a great story was marred by clunky combat, dated ps3 visuals that had awful lighting and other issues. It is how the original should’ve been and it is the second chance that I felt NieR truly deserved. If you loved automata, play this because it’s just as great now.

    This game is awesome so far, put in a good 20 hrs its just objectively better that the one we got originally. The story and music are what really steals the show overall and the combat overhaul alleviated my biggest criticism of the original and is great this time. I cant wait to get all endings again i detect another game to Platinum :D (Also cant wait for the next game in this fantastic series, and tbh i would take another Drakengaurd as well please ) Expand

    An amazing game from the beginning to the very end, and it is relieving to find a studio able to write an end which fits with the greatness of the story so far (at the opposite of Assassin's Creed Valhalla for example..). Graphics are good, solid framerate, musics a very nice though a bit repetitive. Never has a game had such an impact on me, very powerful story, a must play for any ARPG fan.

    I have not played the original or any of the others in the "series", so I don't know whether it is better or worse than those. However, this game can certainly stand on its own.

    Apart from RPG, there is not really a single genre this game belongs to, but somehow many of them. Sometimes it's your standard action JRPG, suddenly you're in a text adventure, an hour later you find yourself in an isometric dungeon or in a bullet-hell boss-fight that feels like a sci-fi Dark Souls (although without the difficulty).

    There are some minor things I did not like here; platforming is horrible (luckily there is hardly any) and approximately 90% of the side-quests require you to collect X amount of Y and deliver it to somebody. I'm not the biggest fan of fetch-quests so I skipped most of those that seemed grindy.

    The story however is incredible. Trying to describe it without any spoilers or weird word-acrobatics would not do it justice. It would also seem rather average if any additional endings were ignored (there are a total of 5, becoming accessible with each NG+), since they contain the biggest chunk of information about what's going on. (Which is not for everybody, although each NG+ cycle shouldn't take more than 5-6 hours)
    I also cannot stress enough how much I liked the music. It often felt like a mixture of anime-theme and Dark Souls boss music, however without being as frantic or symphonic. I never got sick of any track and was almost constantly humming along.

    All in all it's just a big load of fun (gameplay-wise) and a lot of mind blowing (story-wise), which is just about what I love most about these kind of games (not that there are many like this one out there...). You can easily enjoy it without playing Nier: Automata or any of the Drakengards (which is what I did, but hell if I won't play Automata in the near future). I also did not encounter a single bug or anything that seemed unintended.
    Loading times where a little too long though, and many loading-screens seemed unnecessary with today's hardware.

    A strange, beautiful and flawed narrative action rpg that will stay with you long after the ending... or endings.

    There are a few issues worth noting though. The combat while fun isn't as good as automata's and enemy variety is a bit lacking. The side quests are a bit dull and loading screens are a tad too long when moving between areas. Probably the biggest issue is that while pursuing the C and D endings you will get some new information... it's just not enough to really warrant replaying content. This is a flaw in the original game so it's not surprising to see it in the remaster.

    Overall despite these issues nier replicant is a pheneomenal game well worth checking out. It's probably not as good as automata but it's still fantastic.

    A masterpiece when it comes to story and characters, as well as the soundtrack. Really fun combat. What keeps it from having a great score are the at times horrendous side quests that most of the time consist of nothing more than "get 20x Item xyz" and running endlessly from town to town.

Nier replicant is a true masterpiece with a lot of twistes and even if it has some old textures & brightness issues, you can still use a shaders(Nier V2 from nexusmod) to counter that (if Nier original brightness do not suit you of course). Out of that, the game content will for sure keep you up for a lots of hours if you are going to 100% it, mostly due to the 33 weapons upgrade and the subquest delivery materials that you have to do. As an ending words, i can just say go ahead and enjoy your time in the world of NieR! Cheers Expand

    A beautiful title where everything that was wrong in the original version of this was polished, protagonists with whom you fall in love and of course, a story that is not only built with what is played.

    Yoko Taro's direction is crazy and brilliant
    Wonderful plot, full-bodied and with many endings;
    Wonderful characters;
    Emotionally devastating;
    Fun and always dynamic gameplay;
    Exceptional musical sector;
    A prequel that faithfully reflects the creator's intention, which is to spread a fascinating universe.

    Calling NieR Replicant the best "Remaster" I've played would be weird considering the fact that I haven't played the original. But, Yoko Taro managed to take a 10 year old game and bring it to current-gen consoled almost flawlessly, and that is all there is to say.

    For someone who plays videogames just to have fun, Nier Replicant can be a brutal experience with its slogging pacing and busy work questing design. Behind all that rubble there is an amazing cast of characters that perform in an incredible emotional story, full of great conceptual themes that stick in your heart and mind days after the finale.

    Neither Remaster nor Remake, NieR Replicant has a new version that updates it, in part, to this new decade. And it's wonderful.
