    Neverwinter is quite a mixed bag: there's plenty of fun in all its quests and controls are adapted very well for the controller, but it's also pretty repetitive, technically lacking and with a microtransaction system that tends to be a little perverse.

    The Xbox One version is pretty much identical to the PC one, if you don't consider some nasty framerate drops that really shouldn't be there.

    The technical issues make group play a bit of a chore at times, but the quests are varied and interesting enough to keep you coming back for more.

    If you've been waiting for an MMO on Xbox One, this is an easy recommendation. It's not particularly deep or intricate, but there's enough content to keep you busy for a long while. The frame rates are a significant problem, but probably won't deter anyone from playing the game.

    If you’re looking for a free MMORPG on Xbox One it deserves a try, but the adaptation from the PC version is very limited.

    A very generous, but slightly broken MMORPG that can't quite stand on the shoulders of the PC-based giants. It does, however, prove that the genre's systems can translate onto consoles intact.

    Given how disappointingly underwhelming this game is, and how much is locked behind pay-walls and ZEN points (Neverwinter‘s arbitrary currency purchased with real-world money), I pretty quickly decided to play something else.

    Very good game, and a very good console port, to boot. I played NW on PC right after it came out and hung around for a while but the controlVery good game, and a very good console port, to boot. I played NW on PC right after it came out and hung around for a while but the control scheme was not my cup of tea, so I kind of walked away from it and was playing other games besides.
    However, this console version is, in my opinion, far superior to its PC counterpart in terms of ease of controls and the general flow of the game. No, this isn't exactly the D&D I spent years playing on tabletops, but the lore is great and the classes are very good in general.
    Published by PWE but this is not pay-to-win. I have spent money on their cash shops in the past and have already bought myself a nice mount and a few other odds and ends in this version. Yes, you really can get what you need in-game. I cannot comment on the economy just yet because the game is too new, but I see legions of other players every single time I log on, so I would think that given time the auction house and other economy features will grow nicely.
    All in all, definitely worth it. And let's face it, this is way more fun on a 50" plasma TV than it ever would be on my 27" monitor, lol.    … Full Review »
