Murdered: Soul Suspect manages to deliver a good ghost story with some very interesting ideas and twists, but it lacks depth and refinement. Nonetheless the story got us to the point that we’d like to see a sequel.

Murdered: Soul Suspect could have been a really fun detective experience, but it's actually an average point and click mystery game with higher production values.

Murdered: Soul Suspect is like a diamond in the rough: a dead detective, with supernatural powers, who has to solve his own assassination is an attractive plot. Having said that, Airtight Games didn't know how tap into those features to deliver what could have been an excellent game about finding clues and solving crime scenes. At least the game delivers a somewhat interesting story with an unpredictable ending.

Murdered: Soul Suspect lingers almost exactly at the quality middle point as a game. It doesn't do anything particularly good, nor does it do anything terribly bad; it's just okay.

By far and away the worst part of Murdered: Soul Suspect is the completely unnecessary quasi-combat that is littered throughout the game.

The concept and setting here were ripe for out-of-left-field explosiveness, but due to a lack of direction and capitalisation, and likely a small budget, all we’re left with is a lifeless game that fails to live up to its potential.

Throwaway macabre fun, Murdered: Soul Suspect will likely keep you hooked until its only partially predictable conclusion. The game does a decent job of throwing up red herrings, before delivering its ending, but the journey to get there is a largely uninspired and inconsistent slog.
  8. Airtight Games’ supernatural gumshoe adventure manages to deliver an interesting enough tale, but most of the systems meant to make it engaging on an interactive level fall flat. As a game it just doesn’t work.

It scrapes by on the power of its central whodunnit mystery, but I can’t help but feel that Murdered: Soul Suspect is ten hours worth of unfinished business.

Frustrating and unrewarding crime solving surrounded by inconsistent gameplay systems. [Aug 2014, p.62]

Murdered: Soul Suspect is often interesting, with a clever story and cool characters. Other times it’s a messy affair, with pale graphics, boring gameplay and confusing mechanics.

It’s certainly rough around the edges but Murdered’s quirky charm and engaging story will have you playing till its too-quick conclusion.

I truly wanted to like this game. It combines several of my favorite tropes and ideas into one cohesive whole, and I respect what it was trying to attain. But combining a half-baked hide-and-seek operation with a ghost story that seems ripped straight from a casual game isn't the way to hold my attention.

Although the basic gameplay is serviceable, Murdered barely moves past standard point-and-click fare.

Much as it saddens us, given the promise of seeing a 3D Ghost Trick, we pronounce this dead on arrival.

A poorly structured and mechanically inert oddity that, for the most part, barely qualifies as a traditional videogame. There’s no challenge, no pith, no invention and ultimately no point.
  17. An interesting concept that's backed up with almost nothing of consequence. Most of the game involves plodding around pressing one button, and even the puzzles solve themselves.

THIS is what's wrong with the industry. Reviewers and websites want to insure business, They do that by "pleasing" the majority, and they doTHIS is what's wrong with the industry. Reviewers and websites want to insure business, They do that by "pleasing" the majority, and they do that by guessing what the majority would and wouldnt like and let that bias affect their own review of the games. This works sadly. But that is also why many who would enjoy a game such as Murdered Soul Suspect won't even try it. Sad reality.

This game doesnt have "action" it doesnt have shooting, stealing cars, and destruction. And it is better for it. In its own genre and taken as a separate entity, this game shines.
It is a mix of old school adventure atmosphere, smartass detective work, it is slow but it is great. The Story keeps you interested, the acting is top notch, the relationship between the main character and his partner is akin that of Booker and Elizabeth in Bioshock Infinite.
This game is fun and funny, ok in some areas and amazing in others. It is a relaxing experience, and one that should be experienced. You'll feel like you are watching Ghost (the Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze flick) at times, at others it'll be a Tex Murphy experience.

It is a fun and enjoyable experience, I am more than glad I bought this game, and if this genre is your cup of tea, you will be quite glad you had this adventure. You can't beat possessing poeple and reading their thoughts.

Buy this game and enjoy it, if you have your doubts, wait for a sale. But don't miss it.

I think most of these reviewers are paid to promote crap like Watch Dogs, Titan Fail and many others when searching each of their criticI think most of these reviewers are paid to promote crap like Watch Dogs, Titan Fail and many others when searching each of their critic reviews. Watch dogs a game which doesn't even run properly waiting for LIVE service updates.

This game might have bugs granted although a much different concept experienced is offered, surely some polish may have been given to make it better. Most of these reviewers could not get their heads around because they didn't know how to play something different then another generic shooter. Waiting for any user reviews to make these paid scrubs look bad.

The concept, adventure, heck even point and click, story are all seemingly innovative. But if any delivery was lacking, specifically from any advertising as seen in these reviewers paychecks.

Simply by going on what is offered here on this game. I would have rated this game between 7 & 8 for it's unique qualities.. There may well be some draw backs which I may yet find myself biting my words. As I await my copy, possibly in containing some game bugs, glitches. Most of what I have read in their reviews is not enough to deter from a new type of gaming experience. Would be welcomed as a fresh edition when different to yet another generic over hyped piece of bucket bought trash that these same scrubs have given 10 out 10.

Underrated game. It deserves at least 8 out of 10. Atmospheric and dark adventure, no one makes games like this today. Main story line isUnderrated game. It deserves at least 8 out of 10. Atmospheric and dark adventure, no one makes games like this today. Main story line is perfect, side "stories" are also amazing and it's a reason to sneak on levels to open them. I think Murdered is very close to Silent Hill 2 - of course it's not such twisted and multilayered story but it feels like a SH2's brother. This game is not for everyone, but like any other game is, and it doesn't mean that it's bad product. Many AAA titles out there with much bigger budget are really pathetic and copypaste of copypaste. Game has it's cons of course, personally I was sitting at the edge of my seat until the end and wanted more. Definitely I'll play again, and I advise you to make your own review playing this peace of art by yourself. I'm tired of there "reviews" when good and amazing games (Killer is Dead, Okami, Killer7, Thief) are slaughtered by "journalists". Murdered: Soul Suspect is a gem, with it's own fresh ideas, twisted story, cons like linearity but overall it is a GREAT game which deserves much more attention. Buy it you like something deep, dark and sad, you won't regret Full Review »
