I went into 'Murdered: Soul Suspect' not expecting much and despite the less than favorable reviews I bought it anyway. On paper this was a game I typically wouldn't like as it lacks any inherent danger or combat of any kind, but for some reason I was charmed by it's gameplay and story.

If I could compare this to anything in the past it would be the outlandish visions of David Cage.

If I could compare this to anything in the past it would be the outlandish visions of David Cage. This is very much like his games 'Fahrenheit' or 'Beyond: Two Souls'. Though 'Murdered: Soul Suspect' controls better than both, it lacks a lot of the choices though.

I think ultimately it was the story that engaged me the most and I felt it compelling to play. I probably completed it in just over two sittings and loved every minute of it. The game just clicked with me and I have a feeling that like many games like it, it's going to be a love it or hate it kind of experience.

To me 'Murdered: Soul Suspect' is a very flawed gem. It's broken, it's a bit cheesy and it doesn't offer much of a challenge but it's still a great game with a story that kept me guessing to the very last moment. 'Murdered: Soul Suspect' has more twists and turns in it than a roller-coaster and it's so satisfying to see the story unfold.

Murdered: Soul Suspect was brave, and that's what I liked about it. Most of the games being released these days are safe games inspired by money-makers and marketers just to ensure that it will sell, but Murdered is actually an original idea compared to today's standards.

It's about a detective who is trying to figure out who murdered him. This game isn't action packed or full of gun fights and explosions like many other games, but it is more like a detective-noir game, which in my opinion there aren't enough of. This game dares to go where other games won't. 9/10

I personally enjoyed this game. It is not action packed nor an RPG or SHMUPS. It is slow paced, but I believe that adds to the environment and style and was intentional. The story is pretty solid. Not a masterpiece, but it sticks to the point. The graphics are crisp on the XBOX One and I did not mind exploring and going on a few treasure hunts. The voice acting was also done well and seemed to fit the character models.

I do not know what some of the low score reviewers were expecting out of this game, but I got about 10 hours of game play and will pick it up to play again in the future.

The game reviewers of the world should be ashamed of themselves when a good game like this ends up with a metascore in the low 50's. Story-wise this game is better than circa 90% of all games ever made, so even though the mechanics aren't the best, this is an easy recommendation.

Murdered Soul Suspect is an extremely unique game that puts you in the role of a detective who is trying to solve his own murder but at the same time help others reach peace. I currently am yet to finish the game but after a few hours I am hooked, the story line is very rich and detailed and is very entertaining. (I got it for 18 pounds and definitely feel as if my money was well spent) I give the game an 8 for being very unique, fun and having a very rich story line. Expand

THIS is what's wrong with the industry. Reviewers and websites want to insure business, They do that by "pleasing" the majority, and they do that by guessing what the majority would and wouldnt like and let that bias affect their own review of the games. This works sadly. But that is also why many who would enjoy a game such as Murdered Soul Suspect won't even try it. Sad reality.

This game doesnt have "action" it doesnt have shooting, stealing cars, and destruction. And it is better for it. In its own genre and taken as a separate entity, this game shines.
It is a mix of old school adventure atmosphere, smartass detective work, it is slow but it is great. The Story keeps you interested, the acting is top notch, the relationship between the main character and his partner is akin that of Booker and Elizabeth in Bioshock Infinite.
This game is fun and funny, ok in some areas and amazing in others. It is a relaxing experience, and one that should be experienced. You'll feel like you are watching Ghost (the Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze flick) at times, at others it'll be a Tex Murphy experience.

It is a fun and enjoyable experience, I am more than glad I bought this game, and if this genre is your cup of tea, you will be quite glad you had this adventure. You can't beat possessing poeple and reading their thoughts.

Buy this game and enjoy it, if you have your doubts, wait for a sale. But don't miss it.

Underrated game. It deserves at least 8 out of 10. Atmospheric and dark adventure, no one makes games like this today. Main story line is perfect, side "stories" are also amazing and it's a reason to sneak on levels to open them. I think Murdered is very close to Silent Hill 2 - of course it's not such twisted and multilayered story but it feels like a SH2's brother. This game is not forUnderrated game. This game is not for everyone, but like any other game is, and it doesn't mean that it's bad product. Many AAA titles out there with much bigger budget are really pathetic and copypaste of copypaste. Game has it's cons of course, personally I was sitting at the edge of my seat until the end and wanted more. Definitely I'll play again, and I advise you to make your own review playing this peace of art by yourself. I'm tired of there "reviews" when good and amazing games (Killer is Dead, Okami, Killer7, Thief) are slaughtered by "journalists". Murdered: Soul Suspect is a gem, with it's own fresh ideas, twisted story, cons like linearity but overall it is a GREAT game which deserves much more attention. Buy it you like something deep, dark and sad, you won't regret Expand

Overall it is a nice, short game. Story is not dragged out to add time to the completion clock but youll still likely know who the enemy is early on. At some points I knew where to go next but still had to wait for the story point to move on.

Some features seem half baked. Guessing the correct clues awards badges but you do nothing with them. There are a couple of side quests unrelated

Biggest complaint I have is the lack of a map. On more than one occasion I knew where I wanted to go but couldnt remember the maze of paths I had to take to get there. Caused significant walking around.

Overall very good game, wish there could be more like this.

This is quiet a good adventure game.
I swear I really dont understand the bad ratings.
Enganging and a poweful storyline. The only point I may agree with is that it really looks difficult to collect all the bonuses as there is no map and they're quiet disperse. But anyways, the city isn't so big. Definitely worth any money. It was worth 60$ and a gem at 30$ I recommend for anyone who

I recommend for anyone who enjoys adventure games at the level of D4, Life is Strange, Indigo Child (Farehneit), etc.
I am happy with the game and just finding trouble at collecting all the bonuses. Deserved to be GOTY, but apparently it failed to please the games industry, for reasons I can't understand.
In summary it's a gem I own on my Xbox One

Murdered: Soul Suspect can best be described in a single word: intriguing. The story kept me playing this adventure until the credits rolled, as the gameplay was not great.

The average reviews and poor sales show what is wrong with the industry. Yes, the combat is poor, the game isn't really difficult, it's short and there's no replay value, but it's still a great game that definitely doesn't deserve the 5/10 it holds. It has an unique concept, focusing on the story and investigations more than just combat and forcing a generic story down your throat. It also has side investigations that expand upon the setting, and bring in more focus to the general area. Overall, it's very much worth the price. Expand

Murdered: Soul Suspect lingers almost exactly at the quality middle point as a game. It doesn't do anything particularly good, nor does it do anything terribly bad; it's just okay.

Murdered: Soul Suspect is often interesting, with a clever story and cool characters. Other times it’s a messy affair, with pale graphics, boring gameplay and confusing mechanics.

Murdered: Soul Suspect could have been a really fun detective experience, but it's actually an average point and click mystery game with higher production values.
