    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I played all the games back in 2007-2012 and even named my daughter that was born 2011 Tali. That is how much I loved Mass Effect after having spent hundred of hours in ME and ME2. Then came ME3 and it sucked so hard that I did not touch the games at all again until now with the legendary edition.

    So how different do I think the game(s) feel now almost ten years later? Well, ME and ME2 are still good games and even still great from a story perspective but ME3 is still there to ruin the entire experience. Yes, there is a huge numbers of DLC included and they are supposed to make the last entry of this series more palatable than it was when I finished it back in 2012. But ME3 is still the retarded sibling to the great ME and the perhaps even greater ME2.

    ME3 lacks dialog choices and I feel like I am watching a movie with some exciting moments in it but my Shepard is more or less railroaded and does not feel like my Shepard at all in ME3, it feels like he just became a shadow or and imposter of my Shepard that I played through ME and ME2. This makes the game very disappointing despite the improvements to the combat mechanic that now with the Legendary edition is actually ok even in the first ME.

    The story that started out as a space opera that was all about hope and victory against impossible odds, not unlike the original Star Wars trilogy, sadly turns into an artsy fartsy attempt at being edgy in the last installment. ME3 is a very beautiful shell but a shell nonetheless and a very empty shell once opened at that. The ending of the different story lines is deeply unsatisfactory and the ending(s) of the ME3 and the entire saga is just as bad now as it was almost ten years ago, I would dare say it is even worse now as it feels so bad despite me being older and not as emotional as I was when I was younger.

    So my recommendation to all players that love the ME-universe is this, play the first two installments and consider Shepard’s and his crew and love interest story finished after ME2. By killing sovereign and destroying the collector base you made the reaper invasion impossible and you stopped the cycle and Shepard and his friends can take a well deserved vacation and Shepard and his love interest can live happily ever after. Because what is so wrong with a happy ending? There is too much sadness and doom and gloom in the world right now and even back in 2012 and I still feel that Shepard and the players that loves or loved this franchise deserved to be able to get a happy ending to the epic story but instead we got the equivalent to Luke Skywalker committing suicide by flinging himself down the reactor pit instead of fighting the impossible odds and defeating the Empire.

    I know that games and stories where the main protagonists ends up winning is not “modern” but I still really believe that one of the colored endings should have given just that.

    ME1 10 points and ME2 10 points but the disappointment that is ME3 really sours the entire dish as the landing of the entire trilogy actually matters a lot, it is not all about the journey because the destination is also important. And this journey felt like flying first class just to crash land in taliban controlled parts of Afghanistan. So I cannot in good conscience give this package more than 5 because of the terrible last installment and the even worse ending to what could have been the best sci fi and space opera experience of the **** century.    … Expand

    this game looks really good but it is buggy and needs work on the odd behavior of the IA. These problem are new to the game...... Why dose a rerelease have new bug issues? No troll I really want to know

    WARNING. If you want to experience the game that made waves with it's cinematic atmosphere and presentation, DO NOT buy this version. The cinematic lighting of mass effect 1 has been butchered by them adding a floodlight into most scenes and in some scenes they have even removed the original lighting. not only does this ruin the original feel of the game, it results in cardinal sins suchWARNING.     Don't know what the "critics" are smoking but it's clearly nothing good. This is nothing but a lazy console port of an overpriced glorified texture mod which already exists for free, even more broken than the original games.

    And speaking of combat, ME1 is as clunky as ever, nothing remotely improved. No credible gameplay improvements in ME2 or ME3 either. Just lipstick-on-a-pig fluff screen content. And don't get me started on the ridiculous Origin overlay if you bought it on Steam.

    Not even a discount offered to those who already have ME1/2 on Steam or ME1/2/3 on Origin - UNLESS you bought ME3 for a second time on Steam, despite having it on Origin since 2012.

    The Bioware of old is long dead. They are the Husks, and EA are the Reapers. So save your money & stick with the original games. They're far more moddable & there's tons of mods to try.    … Expand

    The main selling point of the franchise is the many improvements made to the outdated Mass Effect 1. Now, are these changes drastic? Yes. Is the combat better than 2 and 3? Hell no.

    Adding on the absurd amount of achievements that can be reached, (for large pools of points) this collection is amazing for returning fans, and new ones alike.

    Even if you've recently played the games, it's still worth the $50-$60USD for the many improvements.

    This is how a remaster should be made, and other companies ought to be ashamed for full priced remasters months after the game's release. You know who I'm talking about.    … Expand

The Mako stuff has been pure filler garbage, and the regular gameplay is kind of dated, but the rest of the game, the main story, the characters, the music, the art design, the voice acting, all great so far. Only issues I have encountered so far was a single crash. Will try and update this review afterMy first time playing Mass Effect ever, and so far it has been pretty enjoyable.     This is the game that will last me throughout the rest of the year. About 150 hours of bliss to play through, and looking the best it ever has on a console.

    They messed up the atmosphere and everything man. Just isn't worth it.

    Oh and it has censorship instead of actually fixing the necessary issues.

Tens of thousands of new textures, ssr lighting, better lit and darkened areas giving it a fuller feel. VASTLY improved.... and now the mako controlsmore like a warthog than a tub of lard. not to mention that even on basexb and ps consoles, the loading times are much improved (just seconds on series x and ps5) Yes some will say "the pc version always had those highwrframerates" thing is.... this is the xbox version review section. Also some people, like me, just prefere the simplicity of a console to play games. Its q great collection of games and dlc... but im knocking a point off because its ue3, Im not buying they said they stuck with ue3 to retain the games essence

    For good devs Its shouldnt be that hard to achieve. 343 did it with halo mcc (2engines run all the time)

    Bioware released a very nice remaster here.
    As always, don't listen to the haters and butthurt people, because the don't got this one feature.

    It is a great remaster and it runs fantastic, 155+FPS constantly on 3440x1440 with a 3080.

    Classic EA cash-grab. The original games are great, but this "Legendary Edition" is nothing more than a lazy coat of paint in the form of better textures. The opportunity here was to remake the trilogy, updating game systems, progression, facial animations, tweaking storylines, righting old wrongs and throwing in some fun new side stories. But no. A lazy coat of paint is what we got.

    Three of the greatest games ever made and the greatest video game trilogy out there.
    The first game has seen numerous improvements. Graphically it's been improved quite a bit and the combat is now much smoother. There are a few bugs but nothing game breaking. I will also point out that some of the facial retexture's look a little off but only in rare cases.

    Great way to dive back into the series. Hopefully this succeeds and leads to a real next gen mass effect that undoes the Andromeda flop...wishful thinking

    Great games. The improvements to ME1 are remarkable (besides graphics also gameplay improvements like better aiming for sniper rifles) and the later 2 games play and look better. Nothing to add to the games themselves as the original games were already masterpieces. Highly recommended!

    I've been waiting for a re-release of the game for several years (this is no joke!), And now I can't play it!

    Game's a piece of garbage. Whoever was responsible for QA deserves to starve. Yet again EA decided to punish PC players, and specifically steam players. They are giving priority to origin, because they know that's the only way they'd ever convince anyone to spend a dime on that piece of garbage platform, and even then they're making pc in general wait half a day past when console playersGame's a piece of garbage. Pretty much every major publication's mentioned the lack of settings and the minimal improvements over the originals, all on decade old games. They'll still likely be better than anything this gutted developer is capable of putting out today, but it's still not worth the price tag. I will NEVER buy anything else EA's had their grubby hands on. Made that decision a long time ago, and made the poor decision to break it for this, but I'm refunding it. I won't ever make that poor choice again.

    Also, note that there's ALREADY talk, LESS THAN AN HOUR IN, of them reviving the multiplayer, complete with lootboxes (Of course, not remembering anything you'd unlocked in the previous games. Gotta start shoveling cash towards them from scratch). Just gain some self respect, keep your memories of the original games, and stop giving these people your money rofl.     Just a graphicmod with a lot of bugs. You get what you expect from bioware. Total **** The games themselves are awesome. So much Love and Detail when they First come Out. But this **** of the re-release is Just harvesting Money.

    Impossible to play in ME1 with Russian voice.
    The worst Russian dubbing ever! I hope this primitive option will be added in nearest patch.

    The definitive way to experience this truly LEGENDARY trilogy. Buttery smooth frame rate, 4K visuals and slightly improved gameplay mechanics. This definitely isn't your typical remaster it's better. If you've never played now is your time. I will say the game definitely doesn't feel like a 2021 game but it is still miles better than it was originally. To me this is GOTY

Во 2 и 3 Mass Effectне на то время не получилось поиграть из-за отсутствия мощного компьютера тогоПомню то время как я десятки лет назад играл во всё три части Mass Effect. В 2010 году батя впервые скачал первый Mass Effect чтобы в него играть, но что-то у бати не срослось и играть стал в нее я. Первая часть была интересной, я даже квесты не выпослял а просто исследовал галактику. Во 2 и 3 Mass Effectне на то время не получилось поиграть из-за отсутствия мощного компьютера того времени. В начале 2014 года сгорает старый компьютер и покупается новый и я тут же иду скачивать последний Принц Персии Забытые пески и 2 и 3 Mass Effect. Проходил я на ультра настройках графики (60 FPS), на высоких сложностях. Третью часть проходил 3 раза. Один раз как спидраннер, второй и третий полностью на 100%. Потом я второй сыграл, тоже идеальная и первую часть перепрошёл на ультра настройках (60 FPS). Мультиплеер третьего Mass Effect идеален и игроки которые в него досихпор играли даже после выхода Андромеды это подтвердят. Выходит Андромеда - и это ужас. Оптимизация: ужасная. Mass Effect 3 у меня на ультрах (60 FPS) шёл, в Андромеде жестокие фризы. Андромеда - она недостойна чтобы её даже и с торрентов скачивали. И сейчас вышел ремастер всей трилогии в 4К 60Fps. Я заявляю что перепройду всю игру с большим удовольствием. Ну и в мультиплеер пойду.… Expand

The textures and models look good, but as far as I can tell they didn't touch the sound design or animations.     While not perfect, especially when it comes to combat in Mass Effect 2, Mass Effect Legendary Edition is still a gem. Most of the changes were put into Mass Effect 1, and the effort made it far more replayable than the original. Mass Effect 3 holds up the best of the three, proving that regardless of the controversial ending, it is still one of the best gaming experiences BioWare has made to date. Mass Effect 2 could’ve done with some more tweaking to bring it up to 3’s combat. Legendary Edition gives hope for the future of the franchise.
