Then reading that the devs at crystal said if we want spiderman we can buy a ps4/5 is ignorant. It's not about being a fanboy for me wither way but even fortnite gave xbox players spiderman. I regret buying this game and it was uninstalled, the game had potential and in all honesty looks beautiful I just hate that even these devs are trying to help fuel the bs console war's when the only people it hurts is their fanbase and all gamers. Way to go square enix/crystal dynamics for pretty much destroying what could have been a great game for year's to come. Oh and the prices they charge for the extra in game content is crazy, who wants to pay 20$ for a cosmetic skin for the same boring repetitive bs. Expand

Everything is broken about hulk. Everything is totally easy until you play hulk or captain and then the game completely breaks and it requires a very specific button loop which you just repeat for one to two hours per stage. And the boss fights are aweful

Looter shooters are one thing as far as being repetitive, but this takes it to new heights. Couple that with offering more content to other platforms for the same price and it's a solid 0 in my book.

Marvels Avengers gets half of everything right.
The Campaign is short, but enjoyable. But it has its flaws. I felt like they've spent most of the development time to make A-Day look great. Other Missions were also good, but a downgrade from A-Day. I didn't like that the Avengers were re-skinned. I hoped that I would see Robert Downey Jr and Co, but it was a re-skin. Kamala Khan got a bit cringe over time but in overall the campaign is the best part of this package,7/10.
There simply is not enough content for a 60$ game. The Gameplay is good but it feels weak with some Heroes like Thor.
The Multiplayer is a repetitive disaster. Poorly designed and garbage missions! It is buggy as hell and it simply is not motivating and because of the many bugs it is not really fun with friends.
In Overall, this game would be a 6 or a 7 out of 10 if it was for like 30$. But it is a 60$ game with not enough content, a short campaign, and a repetitive and buggy Multiplayer. This is the most average game you can think of. If Square Enix releases free DLC for the campaign, fixes the disastrous messy Multiplayer, I'll be back.

I played Marvel's avengers for about three four hours. The first level that introduces you to the combat is fantastic. After that initial level, the game falls apart. For starters, the combat is very simplistic, its very much in line with other melee based games you have your standard strike and your strong strike and can dodge. It quickly starts to be repetitive. Then you have this story that if you read the title of the game should be about the avengers, however the story really centers around Ms. Marvel who I absolutely do not really care about or understand why she would be put to the forefront of the story when the game is called Marvel's Avengers. It should have been centered around the Avengers instead of this inconsequential character known as Ms. Marvel. The story is just flat out boring because Ms. Marvel actually works better as a side character than as the main character she just is not interesting enough to lead a game or movie. the part I got to was where you had to grind replaying missions in order to getr esources so you can build some special suits. It just seemed like padding that was being used in order to extend the length of an already short, boring game. This padding reminds me of Rage 2 where you get to the end game mission, but cannot play it until you get all your ally characters to level 5 by completing all these repetitive activities. sure it extended the game by a couple hours, but all it did was waste the players time when that time would be better spent playing something else. That is how I felt about Marvel's Avengers, like Anthem, Marvel's Avengers was hyped incredibly high, but failed to live up to it. I never finished the game, I found it boring and repetitive, so I turned it into gamestop and got 30 bucks for it and used that to buy another game. I got the deluxe edition, so I feel especially burned. In short, do not buy this game, or if you really want to play a superhero game wait until it is discounted so severely that you won't waste too much money on it. It was a lazy game filled with corporate greed that is not worth 60 dollars. Expand

There are some campaign missions that were really enjoyable! That’s really where the positives stop. The biggest gripe is that there is no customization regarding the equipment. The only way to change the look of your character is to change their skin. Additionally, a lot of the missions are really repetitive and if you’re playing alone the AI controlled characters are beyond brain dead. Arguably one of the biggest “issues” is that they didn’t use the the faces of the MCU Avengers. They used a hodgepodge of comic based Avengers. While that’s ok it really doesn’t help the game because let’s face it we all associate Tony Stark with Robert Downey and so on with the other Avengers. Overall this game wasn’t the home run we all wanted it to be. Is it a bad game? No. But don’t spend $60 on it, maybe once it it drops down to $30 it will be worth looking into. However by then there probably won’t be anyone playing so you’ll be stuck with the brain dead AI. Expand

I was genuinely excited for this game, but after getting my hands on it, the game gets old very quickly. It looks decent, but plays like a console version of an Android game. Repetitive, boring and constant leveling up with numbers that mean nothing. Less could've been more.

GG sony, I appreciate getting conned out of my favorite super heroes all because you chose money of customers, remember, the customer is always wrong folks! I hope they see how low their game scored with fans (3.9 at the time of writing this) to realize they done F****d up. I was super excited to load this game the first time, and jumped right in. I got about 20% into the game, when I realized that I was missing out on a few key elements of the game and wanted to go back and replay some of the levels that seemed open world-esq. They were in fact not. So all the fun little asides I missed, and easter eggs I didn't find, were forever missed. On top of that, a whole in game dynamic of "DNA keys" we not available when I played certain missions (as I had not collected them), and since I couldn't go back to those areas those chests were forever lost. On top of that, some of the chests were just inaccessible because I chose the wrong character who couldn't open a door. How in the world Ms Marvel can slap here way though a door, but my Hulk Buster Armour doesn't leave a dent is beyond me. On the whole, this is just poor game design. If you're going to have missions you cant replay, go with the Assassin's Creed approach and at least make the areas accessible again so you can go get the chests you missed and actually let the player feel like they've completed something rather leaving them with an empty feeling of having missed out.

So with that being said if you aren't a completist, and just want to run and gun and smash the hell out of enemies, have at this game because its the sort of mindless garbage you will enjoy. Even I loved just being Iron Man or Hulk (although If I have to hear Tony Stark tell me he likes PIE one more time when I take down an enemy, I am going to smash something for real). BUT... and this is a big one here... If you are the type of person who wants to get the most out of a game, RUN RUN RUN the other way, there is nothing but disappointment and empty promises from a developer that clearly doesn't get the fanbase here and is is relying on the sort of fan service that set the DCEU up for failure.

Special note to Kevin Feige (who will never actually read this), lets hope you never see what they've done here because it's a sad pandering to Marvel Comic and MCU fans that falls flat on its face.

Now that Marvel's Avengers is dirt cheap, it might be worth a play for the impressive action sequences and impressive visuals. Maybe with enough people picking it up at a much more agreeable price, it might inject the tedious co-op modes. It certainly did not deserve the utter disdain it received, and was at best just a corporate, tone-deaf project that nobody wanted. It is rotten with executive sleaze for sure, and the game can feel like work a lot of the time due to the grind, but there is an ok experience in this somewhere. It is buried beneath all the obnoxious writing, grinding, and generic design.

Avengers has the legs for a good games as a service model. It can stand on its own for a while, and with new content coming as soon as this month, it should keep things fresh. Now, that doesn’t mean monotony won’t set in, it most certainly does. Especially after finishing the best part of the game – the story missions. These types of games live and breathe on their player base and so far, it’s been alright. Only time will tell, and we’ll see how long Avengers is supported. While right now, Marvel’s Avengers is a good game that has a few issues here and there, but a fun time nonetheless, in a year’s time, it could very well be a great game with more varied content. There is most certainly the potential for that here. Let’s hope it actually happens.
