There's also a great combo system and great fun playing with friends. The total amount of conte t dies feel a nit light for the price of admission overall. I rarely follow the story in online games and usually just rush to the end but this one got me interested in the story even though I'm far from a super fan. It was really interesting and I wanted to know what comes next after every mission. It took me around 16 hours to complete the game in full. I don't remember the last time I couldn't make a choice about what class/character to play as each hero feels unique and I think they really nailed it with this one. I truly feel like there's a character for everyone to enjoy. Even though this is the biggest reason I'm playing this much I still can't give it max rating since there are some amazing games out there with better combat mechanics. However, the combat is this game is absolutely fun filled. I think there are options for every type of play. You can juggle enemies forever or you can just use heavy ground attacks if you don't like juggling. U have light attacks as well if u want to attack fast. Then you have signature attacks, which are like special attacks. You can use more powerful attacks to build up stun meter faster and then you have mastery tree. Some of the masteries completely change skills while other give various effects.
For example Ironman can choose between pulse or beam and rocket passives, each of them improving it significantly. Thor's Bio-frost Ultimate will release a massive amount of energy which can either heal allies or burn / freeze enemies. Depending on your choices you can make a lot of different builds on the same hero. Multiplayer however, when it works it's great, otherwise it's really really bad. Biggest problem are bugs, which developers acknowledged and are working on fixing them. Matchmaking seems to be broken, at first it didn't work at all, then it would only matchmake with 1 person instead of 3, now its somewhat better but it still needs to be improved. People can get stuck in mission loading, fall through the map leaving other players unable to progress unless they reset the checkpoint and even then it might not work. For example I played with my friend and we had to take an elevator to the next area. For some reason elevator was missing for me and all I could see was empty space. If I went inside I fell through the map and got respawned in the middle of the forest. Restarting checkpoint didn't fix it so we had to restart the whole mission. Replay ability is hard to judge as it's up to personal preference and we don't know what new content to expect in time. Some people don't mind grinding same activity over and over again while others do so I'll break it down and let you decide. There are currently half a dozen heroes in the game and if you want to max all of them it will take some time. If you only want one of them, it should not take more than a few days to grind it out depending on how much u play. This is a very good game with a few flaws it wouldn't tae much in the way of updates to take this from good to superior if the issues that are there are addressed in patches for the Xbox One.

Marvels Avengers gets half of everything right.
The Campaign is short, but enjoyable. But it has its flaws. I felt like they've spent most of the development time to make A-Day look great. Other Missions were also good, but a downgrade from A-Day. I didn't like that the Avengers were re-skinned. I hoped that I would see Robert Downey Jr and Co, but it was a re-skin. Kamala Khan got a bit cringe over time but in overall the campaign is the best part of this package,7/10.
There simply is not enough content for a 60$ game. The Gameplay is good but it feels weak with some Heroes like Thor.
The Multiplayer is a repetitive disaster. Poorly designed and garbage missions! It is buggy as hell and it simply is not motivating and because of the many bugs it is not really fun with friends.
In Overall, this game would be a 6 or a 7 out of 10 if it was for like 30$. But it is a 60$ game with not enough content, a short campaign, and a repetitive and buggy Multiplayer. This is the most average game you can think of. If Square Enix releases free DLC for the campaign, fixes the disastrous messy Multiplayer, I'll be back.

Looter shooters are one thing as far as being repetitive, but this takes it to new heights. Couple that with offering more content to other platforms for the same price and it's a solid 0 in my book.

I start with the good things.

Gameplay The Gameplay is super fun and addictive. It have a lot of variations in the playstyles of every character (playing Hulk like a massive healthregentank or cpt. as a brutally good bruiser or Thor like a mage). So the Core here is right and gives a huge potential for further updates on the game. Story I never thought it would be so much

So the Core here is right and gives a huge potential for further updates on the game.

    Story

I never thought it would be so much length on the campaign. It was good enough to keep me playing and had some shining moments, especially the character of Bruce Banner and Kamala Khan are very good written.

    Presentation

The looks are very good and most of the graphical environments are stunning. The Characters too look very good.

    Negative!!!!

    - BUGS BUGS BUGS, i never saw so many bugs in a game since Grounded. Jokes aside its a disaster start and should have never came out like this. Its a complete failure and needs massive fixing (game freezing, enemies not spawning, lost progression on skins, ressources etc.)

    - repetitive gameplay, while the core fighting is very good, there are just to less enemies to fight and way to less different levels. Also the Game has only TWO BOSSES out of the whole marvel univerese, big fail on that too.

    - matchmaking is NOT WORKING, or their intended way of matchmaking is just bad for a multiplayer game like this (no joining on ongoing missions, no real enemytweak or scaling, quickmatch is completly broken cause u can get into high level elite matches with a level 1 character and more).

    - very frustrating mechanics, enemies can just delete all the abilities you have up in very easy ways (challenge is good, but frustrating mechanics which are in the big battles are just not avoidable arent).

    - exclusivity is just bad for the gaming community, the backlash the game got was completly right and needed. Its just not okay to prefer other systems in an multiplayer game forever (timed exclusivity would have been much appreciated in this case).

    Summary

All in all this game needs fixes asap and way more DIFFERENT content (cause there are actually a lot of missions and heros to play with). 6/10 its a missed chance, but its a service game, so they can actually improve it to a very good ratingpoint.

I actually like the fact that skins cost money because I could care less what my hero looks like i care about gameplay and controls. The game controls good not great and the gameplay is average. The controls i doubt will ever get better or change but the story with dlc can always get better and if dlc is free ill be happy. I would suggest if you are undecided on the game to wait for a price drop for 60 im not to thrilled had it cost me 30 or 40 I would have been more impressed with my purchase Expand

They did a better job then Destiny with the first arc of the story, but the next "seasons" with new superheroes have to come sooner rather than later, and they have to fix the bugs and once again the motion blur. I knew there was going to be microtransactions and a way to really grind for things for your characters. There has to be an adjustment to the ingame currency so you are able to get these without buying credits, because this game is not good enough or have enough for me to keep grinding over and over and over again.

You fight the same enemy type all the time and sometimes cant even hit them. The Loot system makes no sense. This is not like Destiny Borderlands or Diablo. You only get to fight three bosses, Wow. what a shame. I do think in time this game can be better but not now. It was clearly pushed out the door. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I played the game and the Xbox One S and it did not run very well at all. My game was constantly crashing and the audio was glitching a lot. What really turned me off was a bug that made Captain America's eyes pop out of his head in his traditional attire. What saves this game is the combat system and the ability to play co-op with friends. The story is somewhat weak besides a few set pieces here and there like the introduction of Thor to the player and the return of Captain America. The quality of the overall product and poor design thought process that went into developing the game really shows itself the further you progress a long the way. A score of 6 seems just about right for this game. If it was more polished no higher than a 7.5 or an 8. Expand

    1- PROBLEMAS TÉCNICOS
Otimização terrível mesmo com requisitos acima dos recomendados.
Stutters, quedas bruscas de FPS e Crashando em momentos completamente aleatórios
    ________________________________________

    ________________________________________

    3- EXCLUSIVIDADE SPIDER-MAN

Once you get through the relatively short campaign, you hit the live service grind and, well, that's where all the Anthem comparisons begin. Sluggish, buggy combat. Boring, generic locales. Uninspired gameplay loop and reward designs. Braindead, predictable AI, both enemy and ally. Buggy textures and models. Broken matchmaking and multiplayer. Framerate drops. Shoddy camera. SYSTEM CRASHES.

The game tries too hard to be a live service game, throwing everything and the kitchen sink at you -- but they forgot to include rewarding gameplay. All of these games are repetitive by their very nature but the best live service and looter style games find ways to make these loops enjoyable and something you WANT to come back to. With Avengers (much like Anthem), the combat and loot loops are so mundane, so boring, and so buggy that you'll become numb to them within a matter of hours. Not days or weeks or months -- hours. And that's where the real disappointment begins to set in.

I can't help but wonder how much better this could have been if Crystal Dynamics had been allowed to make this game in the same style as their Tomb Raider series instead of having to push the "live service" model. Just as I often wonder what could have been with Anthem had BioWare been able to just make it a standard BioWare RPG rather than EA's attempt at a Destiny clone. And that's the final, possibly most damning, comparison: Avengers is CD's 'Anthem' in that their publisher wanted a game to try and suck up those live service dollars going to Destiny and Division and others, so the publisher pushed their dev studio into a game genre they have little to no experience in. The end result shows. This is no longer 2014 and 2015 when we were at the start of a new console generation, looter shooters were still new (-ish, Borderlands notwithstanding) and people were willing to give games like Destiny and Division time to right their wrongs and mature. No one waited for Anthem to mature, and no one is going to wait for Avengers to mature -- especially not with the new generation of consoles right around the corner and new experiences to be had.

I give the game a 4 solely for the story mode. It's not worth anything higher than that. If you want to play the story, give it a month and it'll be on sale. Give it two to three months and, like Anthem, it'll be bargain bin.

If you are achievements/trophies hunter then expect +100 hrs to get them all or get ready to spend more money as this game has microtransactions. The game is mixed between linear to semi-open world. There are some campaign missions that were really enjoyable! That’s really where the positives stop. The biggest gripe is that there is no customization regarding the equipment. The only way to change the look of your character is to change their skin. Additionally, a lot of the missions are really repetitive and if you’re playing alone the AI controlled characters are beyond brain dead. Arguably one of the biggest “issues” is that they didn’t use the the faces of the MCU Avengers. They used a hodgepodge of comic based Avengers. While that’s ok it really doesn’t help the game because let’s face it we all associate Tony Stark with Robert Downey and so on with the other Avengers. Overall this game wasn’t the home run we all wanted it to be. Is it a bad game? No. But don’t spend $60 on it, maybe once it it drops down to $30 it will be worth looking into. However by then there probably won’t be anyone playing so you’ll be stuck with the brain dead AI. Expand

You will find yourself being more tactical with characters like Black Widow, while needing to rushing in as the Hulk as one of his main abilities heals him as he fights. This makes the chapter system much deeper after a second look.

A vast verity of things to do will bring you back to this game over and over again. From the systematic H.A.R.M. rooms to the open world war table rooms, or even the story based heroic missions. The UI is clunky at times and slow loading, but the ability to play as ones favorite Avenger makes these quirks easy to overlook.
The voice acting shines as some of the top names in the industry fill the shoes of well know and loved established voices. Travis Willingham, Laura Bailey, Nolan North and Troy Baker bring their best to the table.

Fans of the MCU will return again and again even as the "End Game" becomes slightly repetitive. Think Destiny or Anthem Both great in their own right, but ideas are certainly borrowed from those two, and it's not hidden very well.

This is not the MCU, its S.E. and C.D.'s world. The voice actors who were tasked to create their own interruption of Marvel characters in a post-MCU world did an absolutely fantastic job.

Characters are dynamic. Kamala Khan’s child-like excitement blends well with her potential to lead others. Bruce's kindness and empathy are paired well with the Hulks ability to...well...smash. Tony's humor is hit or miss (though listening to ACDC, Iron Maiden and Led Zeppelin while crushing skulls is both accurate and appropriate) There is a coldness about Black Widow that I enjoy, and a few of her lines remind you that she does not have to be loyal to anyone. In isolation, the characters are great, but it's their interactions that really bring the story together. Tony and Bruce clash brilliance and brawn, humor is used to cut through thick, uncomfortable tension, and the disillusionment is palpable.

Gameplay: While playing the game (with any character) I could not help but think "S.E. could have made a [Marvel Character] single story game...” and I mean that. Each character's combat style and upgrades give more than enough for a single story game. Let’s remind ourselves of the catch: THERE ARE 6 CHARACTERS TO PLAY.

Can you button mash your way through Avengers? Yes. With that said, those that time attacks, learn to parry and alter between button combos see and feel the benefits. Tossing Caps shield while watching Iron Man Uni beam an enemy from a distance has yet to get old. I have also enjoyed the comedic moments of attacking an enemy only to see another character finish them off.

Square Enix has done a fantastic job of utilizing Skill Level and Power Level. Your skill level is just that: what skills does your character have? The higher the level, the more combos, finishers, specialties, etc. The power level is determined by gear and upgrades. The system works and characters level up fast. In the past, I have felt as though this type of systems from games like Destiny put a wall between players and the gaming experience. Such is not the case with Avengers. I have played matches with Skills level 7 players who have a Power level of 40. It’s awesome, and characters are effective.

Some have criticized S.E.and C.D. lack of cosmetic changes when equipping characters with the various gear earned through gameplay or purchased through merchants. Honestly, the decision makes sense, and it ties directly into why Avengers will work as a Live Service game more on that in a bit).

Online Play: Simple: it's new and buggy. But when it works, it's awesome. There are some crashes, the screen going black, enemies disappearing and levels not advancing. It’ll be patched, I am not worried.

Games as Live Service: My thoughts on Live Service/Grind games have always been: If you enjoy playing a game over and over again, then it's not a grind. Here are a few reasons why Avengers will work as a live service (from a guy who has historically grown board of this style of game):

Cannon: S.E. and C.D. have 80+ years of cannon to go off of, with characters (secondary included) that have become pop-icons. While the developers and storytellers have to adapt content, they have content to adapt. The same cannot be said for Bungie (Destiny) and Anthem (EA).

Cosmetics: Gear is not cosmetic because unlike a game like Destiny, the outfits our characters wear are adapted from the already referenced 80+ years of canon. S.E. and C.D. made a brilliant decision: Let the consumer work for the outfit, not slave over individual pieces to build it. And there are a slew of outfits readily available.

Learning from Others: Destiny and Anthem both got one thing wrong: limited gear/cosmetics at launch. Destiny televised amazing commercials of unique characters. But when we popped into the game, the cosmetics were bare and weapons redundant. Anthem...Anthem...I have never played a game that had me trying to dodge loot. Avengers comes out strong: gear, cosmetics, affordable resources, and high-paying faction points (do not want to spoil factions).

Overall: initially I was hesitant about Marvel’s Avengers. The PR was poor, the Spider-Man DLC is upsetting and games like Destiny and Anthem left me skeptical of games as a live service. Marvel’s Avengers is brilliant. The characters are compelling -- there is not a cut scene I wanted to skip. The combat for each character is deep enough to have created 6 individual games, all-of-which would have succeeded in combative gameplay. The live service model looks promising with loot and cosmetics ready to go on day one. Avengers feeds a need that gamers have been looking for: A well-done story that captivates the player with dynamic characters blended with a well-done multiplayer gameplay experience.

But, after the beta I was blown away at how much fun I had! And ever since the midnight release, I have not been able to put the game down!
The story is fantastic, the multiplayer experience has been great apart from sometimes taking a few minutes to assemble a team w/ randoms but they're already working on that, each hero is unique and FUN to play. I went in planning to main Iron Man, but have found myself playing each character equally with plans to max them all instead! And as for the MTX, It's all cosmetic, and all easily earned in-game without the need to spend actual money, so why people are complaining (other than being mis-informed or making assumptions), I'll never understand. My real only complaint with this is the gear pieces do not change the appearance at all, but with all the different cosmetic items there are, I became less bothered by it.
I'd also like to give a huge shoutout to the Crystal Dynamics team for not only listening to their players, but jumping on any issues found and communicating with everyone. It's a great thing to see these days!
While I am not done with the story yet, I am already looking forward to the future of this game, the heroes we will see, and the villains we will face!

Everything is broken about hulk. Everything is totally easy until you play hulk or captain and then the game completely breaks and it requires a very specific button loop which you just repeat for one to two hours per stage. And the boss fights are aweful

Terribly grindy and just ripe for micro transactions. Campaign missions are okay, but wished they would of focused on almost any other main character for it. Majority of game is done in same environments with same enemies over and over again. Also, Xbox version will be missing Spider-Man when they launch him. Hugely disappointed and such a missed opportunity with this gigantic IP.

Repetitive gameplay, frame rate drops make it unplayable and microtransactions from skins to battlepasses. Not recommended.

I was genuinely excited for this game, but after getting my hands on it, the game gets old very quickly. It looks decent, but plays like a console version of an Android game. Repetitive, boring and constant leveling up with numbers that mean nothing. Less could've been more.

Kamala Khan creator Sana Amanat richly deserves every penny of the royalties that are flowing her way - you go, girl! The game is pretty but that is all it has going for it. Otherwise, it's just a reskin of Anthem but with a story. Had this game has been more a Marvels Ultimate Alliance experience it would have been welcomed, instead it is turned into a cash cow and Crystal Dynamics are going on my naughty list. Getting a refund for the Xbox Version today.

Should be called loading screen the game. An entirely broken game where not just frames drop but whole scenes are lost due to blatant bugs. This game is beyond broken and not worth even a fraction of the triple A price it's being charged. If you were smart enough to not pre order seriously don't buy this mess of a game

I hope they see how low their game scored with fans (3.9 at the time of writing this) to realize they done F****d up. I was super excited to load this game the first time, and jumped right in. I got about 20% into the game, when I realized that I was missing out on a few key elements of the game and wanted to go back and replay some of the levels that seemed open world-esq. They were in fact not. So all the fun little asides I missed, and easter eggs I didn't find, were forever missed. On top of that, a whole in game dynamic of "DNA keys" we not available when I played certain missions (as I had not collected them), and since I couldn't go back to those areas those chests were forever lost. On top of that, some of the chests were just inaccessible because I chose the wrong character who couldn't open a door. How in the world Ms Marvel can slap here way though a door, but my Hulk Buster Armour doesn't leave a dent is beyond me. On the whole, this is just poor game design. If you're going to have missions you cant replay, go with the Assassin's Creed approach and at least make the areas accessible again so you can go get the chests you missed and actually let the player feel like they've completed something rather leaving them with an empty feeling of having missed out.

So with that being said if you aren't a completist, and just want to run and gun and smash the hell out of enemies, have at this game because its the sort of mindless garbage you will enjoy. Even I loved just being Iron Man or Hulk (although If I have to hear Tony Stark tell me he likes PIE one more time when I take down an enemy, I am going to smash something for real). BUT... and this is a big one here... If you are the type of person who wants to get the most out of a game, RUN RUN RUN the other way, there is nothing but disappointment and empty promises from a developer that clearly doesn't get the fanbase here and is is relying on the sort of fan service that set the DCEU up for failure.

Special note to Kevin Feige (who will never actually read this), lets hope you never see what they've done here because it's a sad pandering to Marvel Comic and MCU fans that falls flat on its face.

GG sony, I appreciate getting conned out of my favorite super heroes all because you chose money of customers, remember, the customer is always wrong folks! Money always wins at the end of the day, and I won’t be supporting anything they do with the marvel series anymore if xbox and pc are gonna be treated like nobodies Expand

You play through the story of a girl that become inhuman and sets out to make things right.. good vs evil story of coruse, this is a super hero game.. but youll play across this campaign as a variety of characters which is what I love most about marvels avengers.. its cast of charcters stop this game from getting as repetitive as it would have without them… the campaign is very linear feeling like an interactive movie with dashes of collectables for you to find, but again the gameplay isn’t deep enough for me to even care about that, I was focused souley on getting hrough the campaign, and I actually enjoyed my time.. getting to play as different avenger members, all with their own unique feel and play stylethis made fighting these repetive and boring enemies not so repetitive and boring, unlocking new abilities for my avengers, finding different items to equip them with to boost their stats… these things are all great.. sadly though the gameplay agin isn’t deep enough for any of it to really matter outside of leveling up and unlocking new moves.. so it really comes down to this marvels avengers should be viwed more as a single player experience with co optional content… because if you play this strictly for the multiplaer aspect youre going to be disappointed.. that being said.. the campaign wont blow you away either.. not a lot of crazy moments or cool levels, the campaign is definitely lacking on creativifty, but it does switch up the charcters enough to not overstay its welcome, and because of this, it was enjoyable, even the story was enjoyable and that’s coming from someone that hasn’t seen any of the marvel movies… so the ip isn’t all that made me enjoy this game…
Marvels avengers is far from game of the year, but this is a nice refresh for the marvel universe in the gaming world,
    I give Marvel’s Avengers

The actual gameplay is pretty fun, with it getting better as it goes on. Gameplay is unique and satisfying for each character. The story is fine. My only problem is the graphical glitches in cutscenes and the loading times for after you die.

I played Marvel's avengers for about three four hours. The first level that introduces you to the combat is fantastic. After that initial level, the game falls apart. For starters, the combat is very simplistic, its very much in line with other melee based games you have your standard strike and your strong strike and can dodge. It quickly starts to be repetitive. Then you have this story that if you read the title of the game should be about the avengers, however the story really centers around Ms. Marvel who I absolutely do not really care about or understand why she would be put to the forefront of the story when the game is called Marvel's Avengers. It should have been centered around the Avengers instead of this inconsequential character known as Ms. Marvel. The story is just flat out boring because Ms. Marvel actually works better as a side character than as the main character she just is not interesting enough to lead a game or movie. the part I got to was where you had to grind replaying missions in order to getr esources so you can build some special suits. It just seemed like padding that was being used in order to extend the length of an already short, boring game. This padding reminds me of Rage 2 where you get to the end game mission, but cannot play it until you get all your ally characters to level 5 by completing all these repetitive activities. sure it extended the game by a couple hours, but all it did was waste the players time when that time would be better spent playing something else. That is how I felt about Marvel's Avengers, like Anthem, Marvel's Avengers was hyped incredibly high, but failed to live up to it. I never finished the game, I found it boring and repetitive, so I turned it into gamestop and got 30 bucks for it and used that to buy another game. I got the deluxe edition, so I feel especially burned. In short, do not buy this game, or if you really want to play a superhero game wait until it is discounted so severely that you won't waste too much money on it. It was a lazy game filled with corporate greed that is not worth 60 dollars. Expand

Now that Marvel's Avengers is dirt cheap, it might be worth a play for the impressive action sequences and impressive visuals. Maybe with enough people picking it up at a much more agreeable price, it might inject the tedious co-op modes. It certainly did not deserve the utter disdain it received, and was at best just a corporate, tone-deaf project that nobody wanted. It is rotten with executive sleaze for sure, and the game can feel like work a lot of the time due to the grind, but there is an ok experience in this somewhere. It is buried beneath all the obnoxious writing, grinding, and generic design.

Avengers has the legs for a good games as a service model. It can stand on its own for a while, and with new content coming as soon as this month, it should keep things fresh. Now, that doesn’t mean monotony won’t set in, it most certainly does. Especially after finishing the best part of the game – the story missions. These types of games live and breathe on their player base and so far, it’s been alright. Only time will tell, and we’ll see how long Avengers is supported. While right now, Marvel’s Avengers is a good game that has a few issues here and there, but a fun time nonetheless, in a year’s time, it could very well be a great game with more varied content. There is most certainly the potential for that here. Let’s hope it actually happens.
