    The updated pricing policies, along with the very good deckbuilding options, make this 2015 edition of the game a worth purchase for Magic The Gathering fans.

And I am drawing this over and over again. As a college math professor I am just thinking how do they think they can get away with this? I guess maybe because some players don't know about probability? Then again magic players are pretty smart. I don't mind a challenge, but the game should have been tested, and someone should have noticed this. It's beyond reason. For example I have a 66 card deck with 22 lands,and I will draw 12-13 cards and draw no lands. The probability of that is less than 1%, and this has happened to me many times. Not only this but I'll take 3 mulligans and draw 1 card out of 66- THE SAME CARD ALL 3 TIMES! The chances of that are about .0000034. Combine that with the mulligans drawing no lands and or cards that cost more than 4 when there are only 5 in the entire deck that cost more than 4... one of which was drawn 3 times in a row. I think it is an extremely lazy way to have programmed the game- to base my draw based on what will make me have a bad draw. Instead they should just let the deck play itself. If the deck doesn't play as it should probabilistically then it is NOT magic. The math dude who created the game might be very disappointed at this kind of breaking of the game.… Full Review »

    I am writing this review coming from the stance of being an experienced Magic: The Gathering player with 20 years of experience (since Alpha).I am writing this review coming from the stance of being an experienced Magic: The Gathering player with 20 years of experience (since Alpha). The game itself looks good, and there are of ton of cards to collect and build with, it has a decent storyline and the foil cards look pretty cool. Sadly, that is where the positive ends. The negative begins foremost with challenges against the AI. This is my #1 gripe with the game, being that in no consecutive series of games I have ever played has ANY opponent ever had a perfect hand 100 games out of 100, meaning that they have a perfect consecutive series of cards that they can play out, never have a problem with drawing land cards (mana), and seem to always have a card in their hand to counter, stop or delay your attack thereby costing you the game. In every game I have played, the AI seems to have this. Being someone who has played PRO TOUR, this game is even more challenging than playing against other pro tour players sometimes when you are fighting against the AI unless you manage to draw a superior hand that plays out better than your opponent's hand does (which is highly unlikely, hence the number of losses you will experience even during campaign mode). My number 2 gripe with this game is the "shop" and microtransactions (ie, DLC, etc.) - when I buy a game I expect to get the full thing and not be "nickled and dimed" for more money and then also charged half the price of the game to play the expansion content. My #3 gripe is the poor connection quality of online play. Ever running broadband DSL, you will lag and spend minutes waiting for your opponent to respond. That is, when you can find an opponent to connect to. Maybe a good sign that everyone has been discouraged and already left to find other games to play? Just a thought. So in summary, I feel that even 3/10 is fair for this game, when sadly it could have been a 7 or 8.… Full Review »

    1 - While they may have added a real deal deckbuilding mechanic to this game, they did so at the cost of Two-Headed Giant. Big mistake, especially for couch co-op folks like myself. My wife and I used to spend many hours slaying people online, and it's gone. I can only hope they update it into the game.

    2 - It is incredibly hard to get an online game. When there are no games, it will tell you so, however, if there is even a remote chance of a connection, it will cycle the search until you end it, or it throws you into a dead lobby that no players ever join.
