    In the end, LEGO The Hobbit is most aptly described as Skyrim-lite.

    Although the recycling of Lego Lord of the Ring assets is too obvious this still is one of the better brick games in recent years.

    Despite not including anything from the third Hobbit movie that could provide a satisfactory ending, Lego The Hobbit has enough content and charm to keep you entertained until the inevitable next Lego game. [July 2014, p.76]

    A conservative LEGO title, which keeps unchanged the franchise's pros and cons delivering us another story in Tolkien's universe. If your kids loved the movies, it's definitely a suggested game especially if you're looking forward to playing it with them.

    LEGO The Hobbit is what everyone expected, which can be good or bad depending on your exposure to the series.

The Lego angle honestly works much better in this game than in LEGO: the Lord of the Rings. While the characters aren't as unique in gameplay as the characters in LEGO Marvel, it is still fun to take control of your favorite Tolkien characters. Middle-Earth in open world form makes a return and is still awesome. Collecting, crafting and unlocking weapons which made its first appearance in LEGO LotR is just as good and sometimes better here. You know what you're getting if you've played recent LEGO games, especially LEGO LotR, and thankfully it even improves on what that game did. What we have here is a very familiar game with new characters and some new features and that isn't necessarily bad if you aren't tired of the formula. LEGO: the Hobbit is a great game and one of the very best entries to the franchise. Full Review »

It does have some fun levels and the open world is good but not as good as lego Lord of the rings. Can't even explore Erabor, which is a bit of a letdown. Also didn't include Hobbit 3. The mining ores system was fun at first butler somewhat annoying when it was required for certain transactions. But still fun as its based off the Hobbit. Full Review »

I want to mention that I didn't play the Harry Potter one and the LOTR one yet. The missions are the movie it self. I think this is the Lego that takes more movie part then the others. The others sometime feel like they just ''add'' random part to make the game longer instead of make the game like the movie. The open world is very charming and the sidequests are very fun to do.

    Positive things ;

    + Very fun missions and side quests
    + The open world is incredible
    + Very fun to get the 100%, now I will do the 360 one too

    Negative things ;

    - It's only the first and second movie.
