When L.A. Noire first came out in 2011 I fell in love immediately with it and it offered me a fantastic time, so as you can imagine I was very pleased when the remaster was announced. Thankfully as far as remasters go L.A. Noire is a very good addition and whilst it doesn’t have major changes you can definitely see the improvements that have been made. What makes L.A. Noire stand out isWhen L.A. Noire stand out is its detective style gameplay and once again it shines through brightly here and at times it can feel more responsive than before. I also noticed that the gun mechanics in the game had seen some improvements, and the more fluid action makes the guns make more of an impact. The biggest change in the game is when you go into interrogation mode and the changes to this mode are very good because it makes interrogating a lot less confusing, which means you don’t get frustrated at all. I did however get a little frustrated when it came to the photo mode and the main reason for that is that it puts too many restrictions on the mode. I was also hoping for some changes to the open world, but unfortunately that didn’t happen and it can still feel lifeless in some places. They have however included more collectibles for you to collect and this definitely gives the game some replay value, which is great because once you start playing you don’t want the fantastic story to end. The presentation side of the game is better than ever. Visually the game has seen some significant improvements and at times can look great. The sound design has also seen some improvements over the original and everything sounds clearer and on point, which is great. At the end of the day if you were a fan of the original L.A. Noire then I fully recommend that you get this version and play it again because in my opinion it definitely does enough to warrant a purchase again. If you’ve never played L.A. Noire before then you’re in for a treat and I recommend that you play this version of the game because things are more crisper here. As far as remasters go it’s a pretty decent affair and once again L.A. Noire gets a massive recommendation from me. Expand

one of the very best games ever. Well thought out, hugely engaging, captivating setting. Just needs a proper sequel now.

LA Noire gets mixed reviews, but i think many dont understand what it is. Its an interactive movie and a wonderful piece of nostalgia.

Expand

4K resolution looks sharp but 30fps is slow, very slow. impossible the make fast turns in the heat of the fights.

Gladly the gameplay is slow for the most of the time. Unique in it's genre so fun to play.

Technically there are not many changes, but the important core has remained: exciting cases, interesting characters, movie narrative, great atmosphere of the 1940s. L.A. Noire is a game like a few others, and despite some mistakes in a game design, the fun is same as it was six years ago.

Though ponderous in places, there's nothing quite like this curious sandbox caper. [Jan 2018, p.90]

With brilliant voice and face acting, a plethora of interesting characters to amuse and massive amounts of detail, L.A. Noire is a game I enjoyed and will continue to enjoy.
