    The Master Chief Collection is an omnibus of some of the best games ever finished. The story of the Master Chief is an action packed space opera about surviving against all odds and several factions of enemies' ruthless attempts to neutralize you.
    Halo: CE retained its nostalgia with updated graphics, and is the same Anniversary edition that was released for the Xbox 360. Halos 3, 4 and    The Master Chief Collection is an omnibus of some of the best games ever finished. The story of the Master Chief is an action packed space opera about surviving against all odds and several factions of enemies' ruthless attempts to neutralize you.
    Halo: CE retained its nostalgia with updated graphics, and is the same Anniversary edition that was released for the Xbox 360. Halos 3, 4 and ODST are all essentially the same games with some new user interfacing in the menus to tie the games together.

    But the real trophy here is Halo 2. Before the Master Chief Collection, Halo 2 was mostly inaccessible due to it being quite an old game for the original Xbox and widespread compatibility issues for the PC. Halo 2 was like watching the Special Edition of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back in the late '90s: just as compelling as the first time, and somehow better. The graphics are better than Halo 4, the cutscenes are easier to watch, and all the old secrets are still in place.

    I am not a huge fan of multiplayer games. If you play Halo for the multiplayer, then for the first 6 months you may have been disappointed. The system needed more work than 343 had done before the release, and they should have waited to release. The multiplayer seems to be working now, but the wait on multiplayer is the reason for a 9 instead of a 10.

    Overall, $60 gets you 5 FPS games with over 1000 hours of play time and 50 hours of (legendary difficulty) campaign. There are few arguments against how good of a deal this is, and the games are incredible.    … Expand

    Even after years of patches, this remastering is still buggy and awful. Tons of glitches through out the entire saga. Many crashes also occurred. This is by far one of the worst remasters I have ever played.

    This game is essentially the Halo equivalent of Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire; new graphics and sound effects, but pretty much entirely unchanged. And that's not a bad thing.

    I've been a fan of Halo for a while now. Ever since Halo Reach, I played every Halo game after that. I'm not a fanatic, but I still love the franchise. However, I was never able to experience Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, and Halo 3. I was able to play Halo 4, but only because it was on the 360. So when this was released, I got it, and I loved it. I'm not discussing the multiplayerI've been a fan of Halo for a while now. Ever since Halo Reach, I played every Halo game after that. I'm not a fanatic, but I still love the franchise.     After the patches and everything, my rating has changed for a 1 to a 9. I'm going to give this a 10 to try and bring it up though it'll probably be inevitably staying in the mixed area rather than in generally favorable. i think that this game has simply been improved. While this game may have taken nearly 4 years to be fixed, this is now a system seller and should be bought by any HaloAfter the patches and everything, my rating has changed for a 1 to a 9. I'm going to give this a 10 to try and bring it up though it'll probably be inevitably staying in the mixed area rather than in generally favorable. i think that this game has simply been improved. While this game may have taken nearly 4 years to be fixed, this is now a system seller and should be bought by any Halo fan that has enjoyed past Halo games. While H5: Guardians was trash, this game was not. Also, this game is $30 permanently, so for $30(Plus $5 if you buy H3: ODST, which is worth it), you get hundreds of hours of playtime and lots of achievements. For the price you cant beat the amount of quantity and quality of gaming. Its a must have for any xbox one owner. If you like the games before you will be extremely happy.     This is easily worth it's cost, and those who have not yet got to know this particular piece of console gaming history can get easily introduced.

    This game is everything i wanted as an addition to the Halo franchise. Every moment of the game had a huge impact and was full of nostalgia. I know that there are 6 or 8 years old kids playing this game, but i have always enjoyed the story, the gameplay and the world design. Most people prefer COD or Battlefield as a great FPS franchise, but i will just enjoy this great franchise with aThis game is everything i wanted as an addition to the Halo franchise.     I started off playing single player halo 2 anniversary and was initially very impressed, but the feeling did not last long. I played around with the ability to switch from old to new graphics.     I started off playing single player halo 2 anniversary and was initially very impressed, but the feeling did not last long. I played around with the ability to switch from old to new graphics. Seemed cool at first, but there is one glaring flaw. If you switch modes during a cut scene you will end up terribly out of sync and miss parts of the scene altogether. The new cut scenes are indeed impressive, but why include the ability to switch graphics if it clearly isn't going to sync up.

    Moving onward.

    I made it through the first 2 chapters on heroic difficulty. Started the third chapter got about halfway through and saved my game. I came back later and it started me at the beginning of chapter 3. Needless to say I was not pleased to have to start over.

    Campaign:
    Pros:
    Graphics are nice
    All levels unlocked at the start

    Cons:
    Issues with checkpoint saves, having to start over.
    Issues with H2 anniversary switching modes during cut scenes.
    Issues with achievements not unlocking

    Now on to multiplayer. I was not able to attempt multiplayer on release day due to the huge 15GB update. Call me silly but I still think games on consoles should just run right off the bat without lengthy install times. If I want that experience I will do so on PC. PC installers are also 10x faster.

    11/12/2014 I attempted to find a match in halo 2 classic. I waited hours and nothing happened!! I tried numerous match types/lobbies and never got anything. Very disappointing and frustrating.

    11/13/2014 Attempted to find a match in halo 2 classic. After about 10 minutes it put me into a H2 Anniversary map against an outnumbered overpowered team. 4v2 Why wasn't it 3v3!?!?
    I tried another search and it took just as long. Finally got into halo 2 classic match and... LAG, lag everywhere.
    Tried yet again in Halo 3. Took another 5-8 minutes to find players. The match started and there was initially lots of lag, but it got better as the game went on.
    Throughout all these sessions it was clear that there is no ranking whatsoever. So matches where terribly unbalanced and therefore not very fun.

    Horrible wait times to get a match

    Lag

    I would not expect this from a game I paid $63 for. I feel cheated and screwed over. This was clearly just a money grab from Microsoft. It I want to experience some classic halo I guess I will stick to Halo 2 Vista on PC and Halo 3 on Xbox360. This is not worth anyone’s purchase.    … Expand

    I never played halo on the xbox 360, but sometimes i wish i did.
    So now i have the chance and i've played now for 6 hours in one row.

    i love it it's like mass effect but with less story more action. halo 1 feels old but that doesn't matter.
    i can't wait to play halo 2 tomorrow.

    Even though of the network problems and a few bugs that 343i is currently dealing with. Remember you have 4 campaigns to play 2 of them being completely remastered for the Xbox One. The network problems will be fixed in the next few hours/days depending how fast they work. So just wait for the online to work and then it will be the ultimate Halo experience

    Three incredible Halo games and one okay game (*Cough* Halo 4 *Cough*) all in one package with all of each games content thrown in to the mix. Halo 2 Anniversary is clearly the star of the show here, and it is amazing to play my favorite Halo game in glorious HD.

    10/10, superb value for your money!

    There is just one Word for this: Amazing. The greatest and most polished HD Collection so far. 4 Games that made Game History, Halo 5 Beta and Halo Nightfall. Sure, who dont like Halo wont so after this, but thats for all Games. Everyone who likes Halo or Shooters, just HAVE TO BUY!

    The MasterChief Collection was all I wanted. Replay old memories with new graphics and sound effects. The new cinematics really adds up to the game. Plus, you have all 3 other games with it. It's a very good deal overall for only 60$. It's a must have for your game collection on your xbox one.

    Its Halo a collection of quality games that comes in quantity as well. We get the best of both world's. Definitely the best remaster set to ever come out. Best part is the game is older then 1 year and isn't a flat out money grab like TLOU.

    How can a game with so many problems like this, be with such a good note?
    The online mode just does not work! And only hear excuses from developer! So far, I have not been able to play an online game even! I do not advise buying this game. Not until the developer fix this serious problem!

    The Best....the cry is free for all.... Onky Xbox amazing visual and storytelling, my best choice for this end of year.... yeahhh.

    An excellent collectios, 4 games for price of the one....

    A halo dream, everything is perfect, It has every map and the Halo 5 beta. This brings home all the classics we know and love and really shows how much the FPS market has sucked compared to what it is today

    Excellent collection of some of the greatest games of the past 2 gaming generations. The best part of this whole collection is that all 4 games are remastered in 60fps, which make a huge difference. Some people might complain about the massive install size, but it just proves how much content you're really getting for your money.

    The halo 2 anniversary campaign is jaw dropping, and the anniversary multiplayer has stood the test of time. Anyone interested in this game should check it out. You definitely get more than your money is worth.

    All the 0 marks, are from Playstation users, online works if you wait at max 5 minutes and is being fixed ASAP, champaign is perfect and with online working just not working as fast as people want it to work, this game is in my eyes, perfect

    I live in the real world, not some fantasy land, so I understand that problems arise with online gaming. The world of online gaming is INCREDIBLY complex. Have you ever seen the XBox Live control room? Its INSANE!! To expect everything to run perfectly all the time is simply unrealistic. I have no doubt that 343 and MS will get them worked out in short order. So to deduct any significantI live in the real world, not some fantasy land, so I understand that problems arise with online gaming. The world of online gaming is INCREDIBLY complex. Have you ever seen the XBox Live control room? Its INSANE!! To expect everything to run perfectly all the time is simply unrealistic. I have no doubt that 343 and MS will get them worked out in short order. So to deduct any significant points from this game becasue of this....well, just doesnt make any sense. If you can't handle a week or two of online issues getting ironed out, best to just stay away from online gaming, or at least wait until the game has been out for a month or two before buying it.

    In regards to value, this is one of the best releases I can ever remember. Halo 2 and the new cut scenes are AMAZING!! I honestly can't give this game a higher recommendation. If your a Halo fan, you would be crazy not to buy this game asap!! Its just pure Halo goodness through and through and there is enough content here to keep you busy for years!!

    10/10 all the way!! Just a stunning release from 343 and MS!!    … Expand
