    awesome gameplay so fast 60 frames, amazing cloud graphics. 12 party chat. Xbox elite controller. Windows 10 streaming. Free DLC. what else can you ask for. I am surprised by all the false reviews that sad sony fanboys put up to degrade a game value.

    Ok it's not the most beautifull game, but the story is cool and funny to play.
    The multiplayer is amazing and the warzone is insane.

    The story was simply made for Hardcore halo fans and the entire game is extremely fun. If im having this much fun and forge isnt even out yet. I cant wait to see how much fun i have on Forge.

    All the reviews about this game are very mixed. But the population and fan base to Halo is very different to other fan bases fro other FPS games.     Lives up to the Halo name, Story might be bit difficulty to understand at first but its not bad. The game play is great and it looks beautiful, really beautiful, one of best looking games I have seen ever.

    In my opinion Halo 5 is a great game. The req system seems to be pretty balanced as of now. I haven't seen anybody abuse the microtransaction function of Halo 5.

    The campaign is challenging and a lot of fun overall. I never died in any unfair way and the new mechanics tie in very well with the verticality and openess of the level design. Another con is that there are some maps which seem to be straight from Halo forge (especially the ones in SWAT playlist), with some very uninspired assets.

    I was really impressed from the technical side. The game runs flawless and loading times are minimal. Another thing they really improved is the matchmaking. In Halo MCC you got kicked out of matchmacking many times after finishing a match, this problem does not seem to be present anymore.

    I do not understand how some people give the game 0s. I think some of them did not even play the game, as some of them only mention generic cons which have been presented in reviews on youtube.

    To compensate for the haters I am going to give this game a 10.

    After the beta I knew 343 had something going here. Now that I've played Warzone I know for a fact that Halo is in good hands. The smoothness of the game coupled with the "feel" of Halo 2/3 makes for an unbelievably awesome gaming experience. And as for the story? Even half baked its 10x stronger than what Destiny put out on day 1. Those cinematics though, totally stunning.

    Absolutely stunning visuals and incredible detail by the art team. I'll be entertained for years with this game. If you follow the Halo universe closely then the story will satisfy you. If you just play mindless shooters, then you probably won't understand the expanded universe and the new characters.     So right off the back, it's clear that this campaign is definitely semi-dependent on the fact that the player has knowledge of the Halo lore outside of the games. Combine that with the fact that Locke is maybe a half-way decent character whose personality is minimal, and you have the major complaints of the campaign.

    But holy cow, do we see some of the best graphics, cut-scenes, and animations. The levels are dense with activity and paths, the weapons are keenly balanced, and the enemies are amazing. The new gameplay mechanics fit so well, it's hard to imagine them not being there before like hover-jets, dash, and pound. The story is jumpy, but that's kind've a Halo trait. The first Halo literally starts with them making a "random" jump into space and landing next to a Halo. lol "random".
    Multiplayer is flawless, and I mean perfect. From the awesome new gametype including NPC's and bosses to the regular slayer, and the best lone wolf type since Halo 3. SO campaign might score a 8, but the multiplayer is a 12.
    And personally, Locke aside, watching Chief's development under 343 industries is nothing less that moving. We finally see a man. It started in H4, and almost had me tearing up from the beginning. Maybe you have to have been there from the beginning, but when Locke told Chief that Cortana wasn't his problem anymore and it was Locke's, and Chief responded, "Like hell she is," I died.
    And to all 80 something people who literally gave this game a 0, meaning it's literally the worst game in creation in all aspects and there's nothing good at all, go back to your PlayStations and stop searching Halo 5 on Wiki and spouting your hate.    … Expand

    A far better campaign than both Halo: Reach and Halo 4 combine with best-of-franchise multi-player to make this a GotY contender that brings back the sense of wonder and fun that have been missing since the original core trilogy.

    Fantastic best in the series and i can't wait to see where this story takes us, well done 343 now can you just bring back fire fight and add Reach to the Master cheif collection and i will love you forever.

    Oh and Sony pony fanboys.... really really? i know you have no games but to come on here with your fake reviews is laughable and sad.

    I would say this game is at least a 9 and that the campaign is most enjoyable if you know the lore (which you should familiarize yourself with if you are going to critique it) and the multiplayer is some of the best in the Halo series let alone most games out there today (or ever).     game is really fun, sharp, fast paced and interesting. very smooth and tight controls. the gameplay tweaks are interesting and take a little to get used to but fun once you do. the campaign is interesting and may require replays if you're not a buff on the lore. multiplayer is smooth and trouble free. love warzone modes. reminds me of a futuristic battlefield game in a way.

    Everything is right from Story MP and design.

    Campaign is very criticized but I think it is above average. Great scenery, action packed, cool characters, great variety in missions, etc. The only thing Halo 5 lacks is split screen, but I'm still giving it a 10 because everything else works great. Forge (which has been upgraded heavily) and Big Team    Great Halo experience!

    The game is clearly the best Halo there is with it being the first created ground up for the XBox One. Graphics 10/10 an I'm a graphics freak and own the best GPU's on PC and on XBox the graphics are excellent. Sound - again awesome but super awesome through stereo headphones.

    Most of the negative reviews havn't played the game. "Flow" is the word that comes to mind when playing Halo 5. Favoring curves over sharp lines, you are guided through each multiplayer map with a cat and mouse type feel. This calls for top notch teamwork to cut off your opponents. The maps are vivid but not hard on the eyes like Halo 4. One of the better Halo games. Buy it!

    Great game. Love the singleplayer but the multiplayer is just freaking Awesome! It's been a long time since I truly enjoyed the halo multiplayer but now the love is back! Warzone is a blast and the ultimate halo modus.

    This game is fantastic. The multiplayer runs smooth and the campaign is interesting. Had lots of fun playing as Locke and you cant go wrong with Nathan fillion. Didn't have any connectivity issues with is amazing considering the track record with games this year. Sucks that some people have given it a zero. I think the consensus is that you will either really love this or hate it.

    Amazing entry of the Halo series. The multiplayer is top notch and the arena gameplay feels simply amazing and satisfying. The warzone mode adds a unique MOBA twist to it and it just feels satisfying pulling a come from behind victory. It really is a game mode for everyone. Attack bases, defend bases, go after AI, vehicles, on foot . . a game mode with everything.

    I have played all the Halo games. I primarily play Halo for the campaign, not multiplayer. I am 3 hours into Halo 5 campaign and I have to say this is very good. The play mechanics are buttery smooth. The game feels like a AAA title from the cut scenes to the non-stop action. The music and sound effects are some of the very best in gaming industry. The graphics are detailed.I have played all the Halo games. I primarily play Halo for the campaign, not multiplayer. I am 3 hours into Halo 5 campaign and I have to say this is very good.     So far this has by far been my favorite Halo game to date, I find the 60 frames and amazing sound quality adds a satisfying feel to the game. The Campaign is the first I've ever actually enjoyed playing through on Legendary, and it a lot of fun to play. Multiplayer is competitive, fast paced, and thoroughly enjoyable. Warzone is a lot of fun and a well crafted game type.     An epic experience. The campaign is very good, with an epic scale and emotional punch but it has flaws such as the heavy reliance on its own universe, still, there's a lot of fun to be had here and the multiplayer is truly brilliant, it revives the competition soul Halo once had. For any fan of the franchise it's a must own.

    Fantastic game. No issues on launch and the game runs brilliantly. Campaign is a tad short however as huge halo fanboy the story being told was incredible. New multiplayer is the exact re work halo needed to bring something new the table, with an awesome ranking system to boot.

    Un increible juego, mejorando en cada aspecto con respecto a su entrega anterior. Una campaña corta pero bien desarrollada, hubiera sido mejor centrar mas el protagonismo al jefe, pero estuvo bien. Un increible multijugador, en el cual he pasado dias casi completos. Lo recomiendo.

    A perfect Sequel for the Halo Saga. Halo is still Halo. The Gameplay, Story and movement are superb and multiplayer is a big step in the right direction. Arena for E-Sport and Warzone for a more casual experience.

Network is lag free and co-op is great. Had a friend leave mid game and he dropped without a hitch. If you are hung up on the lack of couch co-op, welcome to 2015. Your are the 1% and need to get over it.

    What can i say. Yes the campaign (mostly the ending) was not the best but the multiplayer is amazing.
    Its very addicting and rewards you for almost everything you achive. One of the best Halo multiplayers if not the best out yet!

Cutscenes throughout are action packed and well placed, looking fantastic in 1080p 60fps.The characters should be familiar to people with knowledge of the extended universe, and introduces some really well thought out enemies. The Promethean Knights now take on a more Mgalekgolo (Hunter) type role, capable of absorbing a Scorpion shot, unless you hit their weak spots, giving variety to the gameplay. The host of enemies included vary the pace of combat, with subclasses of all enemies in the game. Squad commands allow you to mix up the way you fight ; Lone wolf, Team player, balanced etc, the revive system encouraging the use of these all new abilities.
    Fluidity is maintained perfectly, due to the sacrifice of split screen, however it would have been nice to include split screen. Textures do seem to lag occasionally.

    Multiplayer is a blast, Warzone and its REQ system allowing for a more open ended, casual style of play, whilst keeping shrewd decision making essential. Team play works brilliantly as the bosses demand focused fire and attention to beat, and the objectives requiring more thought to bring down. Yet again gameplay is fluid as ever! Occasionally the opening cutscenes for the match will glitch, showing an outside view of the map and the spawning rarely places you in the middle of gunfights, but this is very rare. Some may feel forced to use REQs. REQs deliver a variety of weapons, scopes, vehicles and power ups, adding another dimension of thought to gameplay, and the Spartan abilities fuse flawlessly with core Halo mechanics.

    Arena is fast paced, balanced mode with the 1-50 ranking system making a triumphant re-emergence , making almost every game tense and satisfying, regardless of the outcome; victories are often hard fought and narrow, with a virtual playground of opportunities to outwit and defeat your foe. The new abilities work fantastically; thrusters make more escapes and gunfight victories possible, Ground Pound deals massive ranged melee damage and Spartan Charge stuns and damages your enemy. Map design is up to scratch and power weapons can be game changers in THE RIGHT HANDS; they aren't outrageously overpowered, but can subdue the opposition massively. I didn't really notice any problems at all.

    The menu layout is simple and intuitive, but could use a more expansive roster in matchmaking.

    Finally, the music is good, with some aspects of the original Halo style, however it is nothing to behold.

    Halo 5 is a major step in the right direction. There are a few minor hitches with spawning mechanics in multiplayer, and weapon balancing, but overall the Multiplayer is perfect 10/10. As for Campaign, the story is amazing, the gameplay is great and the Co-op is flawless thanks to Halo 5's Dedicated Servers. Visually, Halo 5 is amazing, looking better than most games released to date.

Probably the best game of the generation, but the only detail is that... if don't know thing about the expanded universe, the story is going to be confusing and annoying. So please, if you want to enjoy the amazing campaign, (or if you're planning to review it) please... familiarize yourself with the backstory.

    I enjoyed the game very much. Both in campaign and multiplayer, though it has its faults. No split-screen was a problem at first but eventually overcame due to past experiences with having to focus on half a screen with older titles. I am not a huge fan of the requisition system and would prefer it to devolve to award myself and other players for our achievements rather then grinding toI enjoyed the game very much.     Well I'm here to tell you one thing, and one thing only - do not, under any circumstances, listen to them. If you're a Halo fan, if you want to give a fun new shooter a fair go, do not. I've been down that road.

    Instead, read this, a review from someone who's loved Halo ever since CE dropped and understands what makes Halo what it is.

    Halo is a fantastic step in the right direction, and I'm eager to see what they do next. Obviously, the point of greatest contention is the new Spartan abilities, first and foremost amongst them the new Smart Scope. If someone calls it ADS, immediately stop listening to them - it's not. Smart Scope is a system which allows you to zoom in to various degrees with basically every weapon to reduce spread and shoot with greater precision - if you do this whilst in the air, you will hang in the air for several seconds. This accommodates long range combat on the larger maps that 343i has gone with. There are two main catches - the first is that, in a departure to the typical ADS mechanic of your CODs and Battlefields, Smart Scope does not 'snap' to the target closest to your reticle. The second and most obvious catch is that if the player receives any damage in this state, they will be kicked out of ADS and dropped to the ground if they're hanging. This makes it absolutely impractical to use in CQB, unlike your run of the mill ADS.

    I'd run you through the other abilities, but I've got a character limit xD

    Be assured, however, that the abilities work very well together, particularly the new melee abilities, ground pound and charge. You feel much more like a super soldier when, once the ammunition runs dry, you can literally turn yourself into a weapon, smashing aside vehicles and knocking fools out from above. Sprinting has been balanced after Halo 4 to prevent escaping from combat - sprinting prevents your energy shields (effectively health) from regenerating. Fight is usually preferable to flight.

    The other major point which these people make is the story - granted, it is a little convoluted. In fact, maybe knock a point off my score if you haven't played all the games and read the books. But I assure you, as a fan of the series, the story makes perfect sense and is wonderfully fan servicing. Blue Team in particular have been a long time coming. The constant twists and turns the story took were beautifully crafted, and I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. The people that complain about the ending and the length of the campaign just secretly want more, I assure you.

    I'm a huge fan of the series from the start. I don't really liked the 4th installment of Master Chief's journey, but with this episode I'm overly pleased. The story is a good prequel for the next game, the multiplayer was never so exciting. The hate just only comes from mindless people.

    Best halo to date! War-zone is a great mode with match making so you won't be matched with people who Pay2Win. Arena is deadly competitive. But the story, you need to know more lore to understand. You won't know the importance of Cortana, or blue team without know some general background knowledge.

The Halo fans like thoughtfulness, and strategy, and Halo 5 does just that by rewarding you for thinking things through.     Absolutly great game! I know that some PS fanboys cannot face up how great game it is - so they give as low note as possible. I love this game. Multiplayer is stunning! Single little too short but great! New Spartan abilities are VERY welcome! Graphics 8.5/10 (some location are really beautyfull) 60fps smoothness is amazing! I can not wait HALO 6.

    Una campaña digna de halo, la duración promedia a otros halo, gráficos sorprendentes, cinematicas excelentes, jugabilidad mejorado respecto a otras entregas, apartado técnico brutal, inteligencia artificial descuidada en aliados pero excelente en ia enemiga, multijugador 100% competitivo podría decir que el mejor de la saga.

    This game just amazing. This is without a doubt my game of the year. Amazing visual presentation with seamless transitions from game play to cut scenes and vise versa. Graphics, Sound, and control are best of the best.

    Que he de decir, este si que es un juegazo, desde que jugué halo 1 en la pc me empezó a gustar y sigue con la misma mecánica, tiene muchas cosas en cuanto online. Buenos graficos y buena variedad de armas, y sobre todo buenos gráficos. Como fan de Halo es casi mejor shooter de todos. Me gustaría que sacasen el 6!

    gostei do jogo, pois trouxeram a trilha sonora clássica e conseguiram trazer o melhor multiplayer da franquia, a franquia halo tem muito a avançar, halo 5 nao é perfeito, mas aida é uma franquia que merece respeito

    awesome gameplay so fast 60 frames, amazing cloud graphics. 12 party chat. Xbox elite controller. Windows 10 streaming. Free DLC. what else can you ask for. I am surprised by all the false reviews that sad sony fanboys put up to degrade a game value.

    Easily the greatest First-Person Shooter game of all time in terms of multiplayer gameplay mechanics. The new Spartan abilities were perfectly incorporated into the game, and I've never played such a balanced and competitive multiplayer FPS game. Brilliant.

Do not take this frantic multiplayer lightly as a casual pickup and play game, it will eat away your day without you realising. Halo 5 is no different in this sense.

    Customisation

    Over the years the Halo series implemented many customisation options. Halo 5’s customisation is a step above its predecessors. From a variety of different armour looks to its colour choices, it has something for everyone to make your look unique. The new aspect in this iteration of Halo is the ability to change colours of your weapons. You can spend quite a bit of time perfecting your layout before you know it.

    Although it is not in-depth compared to games like Fallout 4 and Doom, there is enough here to keep you occupied. And 343 is always expanding upon this with their updates adding to their ever growing list of customisation options.

    Multiplayer Diversity

    Halo 5's multiplayer modes are diverse. It has something for everyone. For those craving fun big team warfare there is a dedicated playlist featuring the usual big team battle mode and of course its Warzone mode.

    Then there is the competitive arena playlist for those planning to climb its addictive leaderboard. I have spent many hours trying to get to Diamond League and once I reached it, there was an inner sense of pride to keep hold of my position and challenge myself to climb higher. The weapons are not only well balanced but laid out strategically on its Arena maps, ensuring the control of these weapons vital as your team progresses towards victory.

    Every month or every season as they call it, the rank resets and you are rewarded based on your final standing. This can be in the form of modded weapons, armour sets to Requisition packs which I will discuss further later in this review.

    For anyone craving big frantic battles that combine AI opponents as well as players, its 12 v 12 Warzone mode will not disappoint. Players battle to reach a certain amount of points to win the match. This can be achieved through killing opponent players or killing bosses that spawn around the map. Do not underestimate the AI however, as they are a formidable foe and can more than hold themselves when surrounded by players.

    When they spawn it’s a frantic battle by both teams trying to get the final blow. That is where I felt the challenge of killing the AI boss to contribute towards your team’s points could be exploited. Imagine your team fending off waves and waves of players and AI alike to kill off the boss. You spend every bullet and muster every able body to focus their skills and firepower onto the boss, only for an opponent sniper to take the last shot and obtain all the points. Immensely frustrating. And yes I have done that many times myself.

    Forge-tastic!

    The inclusion of Forge where players are able to create their own maps and challenges for the community still stands strong. The best of these user created content are carefully selected by the developers and included in a dedicated playlist sometimes. Dedicated servers help the online experience further. In my many hours of game time I have rarely found it to be laggy and finding matches takes less than 10 seconds.

    Graphics

    The graphics are well done here. Halo 5 uses every ounce of power from the Xbox One system and outputs it in glorious form. The slick design of each item is unique, bold and creative. The multiplayer stages are well designed with every map sporting a distinct look. From the Fiery industrial core of Molten to the icy chasms of Antifreeze the team has been creative with their approach so far.

    Reward packs

    REQ packs and Req cards are Halo 5’s reward system achieved through give aways, playing matches and reaching milestones. It will award all of the cosmetic items as you open packs such as armour variations, character stances and various weapon and vehicle upgrades which can be used in Warzone playlist. It can be bought with real money or earned through game time. Cards have different rarities from uncommon to legendary items.

    Halo over the years has grown into a behemoth. Upon its release there were not many modes or maps which made the game feel a little stale. However 343's dedication and promise of free 1 year DLC has been delivered. With it the Halo 5 community is growing bigger and stronger. Other games should take note of Halo 5's successful business model. Its current state is a joy to behold with double the maps and game modes alongside customisations and unique weapon upgrades, making this Halo probably the best Halo so far.

Gone are days of the Arena shooter's and Halo's utter dominance as younger players favor kill streaks and Call of Duty clones(which is why Halo 4's multiplayer happened... *Shudder) But for those who are still looking for a fantastic and balanced Arena experience, forHalo has always been a mythic game series. Gone are days of the Arena shooter's and Halo's utter dominance as younger players favor kill streaks and Call of Duty clones(which is why Halo 4's multiplayer happened... *Shudder) But for those who are still looking for a fantastic and balanced Arena experience, for those looking for a fantastic forge experience, for those looking at the more modern warzone gametype, or for a super fun single player campaign Halo 5 has it all.

    The story is a little lack luster, but the game makes up for it with stellar gameplay, free DLC/Support, dedicated servers, and 60 frames per second (a first for Halo game). Honestly, I can't understand why this game doesn't have a higher user score. This game is easily a 10 out of 10, at worst a 9 if you ding it for story writing which isn't quite a strong as previous Halo games.     Halo 5: Guardians is okay. Its campaign is rubbish, but the multiplayer is solid thanks to the foundation it’s built upon. Warzone is a really enjoyable experience, and while combat is still mostly about tossing grenades and hitting the melee button, the whole Requisition gimmick adds some much-needed flavor to proceedings.

    The latest Halo is a big deal only for hardcore Halo fans. For me the single player campaign was unbearably pompous and despite 1080p and 60 fps the visuals are not as breathtaking as they once were in Halo 4. The game builds a solid foundation for Halo 6, but it’s not one of those games you absolutely have to play. [13/2015, p.48]
