Running around Going Under‘s dungeons is a joy, and you’re never quite sure what will be waiting for you behind a new door. Every time you die, you’ll be keen to jump straight back in and see if you can get just that bit further. It might not be the deepest Rogue-like game out there, but you’ll be hard pushed to find another quite as fun as this.

I love when indie games offer something unique and special and Going Under certainly does with its clever premise, striking style, and supremely rewarding roguelike structure and beat 'em up gameplay. If only real internships could be this fun.

Going Under is a dungeon crawler all about exploring the cursed ruins of failed tech based start-ups. As an unpaid intern in the city of Neo-Cascadia, you’ll wield office items as weapons as you make your way through the offbeat procedural based dungeons beneath your company business' campus. Over the years Team17 has published many great games for the Xbox One. Going Under is the latest release from publisher Team17 which is a rogue inspired dungeon crawler title developed by Aggro Crab that features unique twists along the way. Going Under is the first release from developer Aggro Crab who decided that instead of live in the tech business virtual world, they were going to tear that world apart in video game fashion. Going Under is a game that has a lot of personality in its favor. Characters that remind you of working in an office job and the skills you develop as you progress reference phrasing that have been enjoyed in every corporation memos or e-mail that fills your work inbox. It also has a diverse combat system for a rogue based game, which rewards you for experimenting yet rarely puts you into situations that feel unbalanced due to poor weapon selection availability. With such a full summer of noteworthy indie releases, it’d be terrible if you were to let this diamond in the crowd to go unplayed. There’s never been a more appropriate time for Going Under to exist, and we’re living in a far better place now that it does. I highly recommend picking up Going Under for your Xbox One and fair warning, Going Under is quite an enjoyable experience and well priced for all that's packed into it, like your lunchbox in the employee lounge.
