Going Under is a fantastic roguelike dungeon crawler with a keen satirical edge and addictive gameplay. Very good indeed.

Going Under is an excellent roguelite that is challenging, rewarding and hilarious at the same time. It takes a little while to get going, but once it does it's a delight. As a scathingly satirical look at tech startups and culture it's likely unmatched, helping it to stay fresh and funny for a long time.

Going Under is one of the most important games I’ve played in 2020 and one I’ll keep playing for months on end, thanks to the meaningful writing and enjoyable dungeon crawling. For those looking for an accessible starting point in roguelikes, or those who just need some delightful takedowns of late-stage capitalism, this is it.

Overall, I would recommend Going Under to those who are open to playing a lighter, yet challenging roguelite with an enthralling critique on neoliberalism.

Going Under is not a bad game, its story is fun, sometimes witty, and at times, a tad meme-like. If you play a lot of roguelikes you may find it a bit thin on the ground. However, if you are new to the genre, want something a bit lighter, or just want to try something a bit different Going Under may be for you. It has a depth in its difficulty options, it looks very nice, and plays well. I think it just depends on what you are looking to get out of the game. There is stuff here to like, it is just not for everyone.

I didn't know anything about it, found it by accident and really liked the vibe of it. It's Dead Rising combined with Roguelite mechanics sprinkled with Sunset Overdrive vibes. It's beautiful.
I really dug the writing. The game seems to drop the quantity of the story bits after a while but since it relies on roguelike-mechanics it would have been very hard to deliver story bits after each time you die in a dungeon (of which there will be plenty). It's super creative and a lot of fun for playing half an hour here or there, though I've spent my first day playing it almost the entire day. It's super hooky. Give it a try!

What going under offers that's different to others in the roguelike dungeon crawler is it's style and setting. Setting a game in 21st big techWhat going under offers that's different to others in the roguelike dungeon crawler is it's style and setting. Setting a game in 21st big tech start ups is a clever move as there's tons of absurdity around 21st century capatalism to explore. The dialogue is well written and had me laughing throughout the course of my run through.

Combat is typical to the genre but still fun. The art style is vibrant, pastel lo-fi and very fitting for the new minimalist logo millennial age. Worth a play if you're not sick of the roguelike genre yet

Bad ps4 performance. 13 hour casual playthrough.

A lot of fun, but there is something counter intuitive about blocking off halve the power ups through playthrough progression so that they're less available synergies early on. I know this is common for these AA rogue likes, but why? Just ditch the progression.

Good story, but it gets really didactic with all the pop philosophy.

Just another boring roguelike that has no idea what its going for or why people want to play roguelikes. I'd rather just play hades or gungeonJust another boring roguelike that has no idea what its going for or why people want to play roguelikes. I'd rather just play hades or gungeon than this. No one wants to loot breakable weapons. Its was the major problem and criticism of the last Zelda game. Why would you put that into a roguelike. Expand
