Bad ps4 performance. 13 hour casual playthrough.

A lot of fun, but there is something counter intuitive about blocking off halve the power ups through playthrough progression so that they're less available synergies early on. I know this is common for these AA rogue likes, but why? Just ditch the progression.

Good story, but it gets really didactic with all the pop philosophy.

Worth playing for the humour alone, its twists on genre staples set it apart as a bitesized, approachable roguelike that’ll have you grinning for its duration. [Issue#181, p.95]

Overall, I would recommend Going Under to those who are open to playing a lighter, yet challenging roguelite with an enthralling critique on neoliberalism.

Going Under is one of the most important games I’ve played in 2020 and one I’ll keep playing for months on end, thanks to the meaningful writing and enjoyable dungeon crawling. For those looking for an accessible starting point in roguelikes, or those who just need some delightful takedowns of late-stage capitalism, this is it.
