This game is complete garbage and a disgrace to the fallout name. Bethesda CREATE A NEW ENGINE AND DITCH YOUR OUT-DATED **** ENGINE!!!

When walking backwards you walk into invisible walls yes i see that there was nothing stopping me when i turned around to see why i couldn't walk backwards. The main story quest is you following holo tapes that someone leaves behind and you don't feel like you are contributing to anything. The pvp is broken when you are up against 2 people with power armor and you got nothing and there is something you can do but let them kill you. The building is broken there are only a few spots to build and if someone builds at a workshop you can't move it or collect your stuff that got placed next to it. The hit detection of enemies is also broken. Just don't buy it and save your self the trouble or just watch people streaming it.

So I decided to try Fallout again and it's still bad after having another 57 GB update before I could play. The game feels horrible for controls aim is useless and even with the Two-Shot guns they don't do hardly any damage and the shotgun is still glitched. I was able to play it for about 45 minutes before I got off because of how unplayable the game is. After all these updates it doesn't look like they fix anything. Thanks Bethesda You lost another customer.

Wtaf? This game is worse than bad. It's like they took all the NPCs and story out of Fallout 4 and dropped you in the middle of it. So disappointing, was really looking forward to this title. What a complete waste of money.

Just a reskin of fallout 4 but somehow manages to be worse? It's as shallow as a puddle and takes all of the fun original mechanics and quests and tosses them out the window. This game is absolutely terrible. Everything about, from the bugs to gameplay. Absolutely bad. Everything they promised at E3 was thrown down the drain. But hey, At least they earned an Award. The 3rd most discussed game of 2018. Don't take it as a nice title, Todd.

This is such a sad attempt at a $60 game, which isn't even finished. There are so many bugs and server disconnections it is ridiculous. I have had items in my inventory disappear and i have been attacked by invisible enemies many times. The game feels empty and its just boring. This game is a joke and Bethesda has become a joke of a company.

I’ve been a massive Fallout fan for 10 years and I’ve never been so truly disappointed like I am with Fallout 76. In its current state, I see it as truthfully unplayable. It feels like a constant grind for everything; loot, caps, experience, building materials, guns, etc. Not only is this massive playable area completely void and empty, so seems every area of anything interesting to loot.

I ran into a bug that had me stuck in an entering power armour animation that left me with no HUD and unable to move which left me defenceless against the 10 enemies that spawned right in front of my face. Usually, I would accept that it’s just a random bug but this animation has been around for 3 years, I can’t find a good excuse for it to be showing up now - especially in a title that supposed to surpass the previous titles.

The story is also luckluster, not having NPCs has harmed to game tremendously. It defeats the point of it being a Fallout title. How could they get this so wrong?

I’m so disappointed because I truly love Fallout, I want to love this game but I can’t find a reason to. I feel, left in it’s current state, this does nothing but harm a franchise that is so loved.

Here’s waiting for a year of updates to finally get a experience that feels like a $60 AAA title, a true Fallout experience 100GB update.

Bethesda have killed the Fallout franchise with Fallout 76. Why? Because
    1) They destroyed all storytelling in the game (previously one of the greatest hallmarks of a Bethesda game) by removing all human NPCs
    2) They tried to make a multiplayer Fallout (which is all well and good), but did it in the stupidest way. Instead of writing a new engine designed specifically for multiplayer,

Because the engine was never designed for multiplayer, which is why we now have all these performance issues and bugs, because you are trying to cram a square peg into a round hole. Not to mention a lot of the features were never designed for multiplayer. The VATS system in Fallout 76 is a complete joke.

i am about a full day in playing this game. 22h on record now. i played by myself for 8 hours. then actually went out to look for a gang to team up with. no one would join me. it seams very very hard out of the maybe 30 people i have run across, that would like to be friends.

My first 8 hours of playing this game... it was dead it seamed. it was as if i was playing Fallout 4 after the main mission. I was able to get a power armor frame. and a massive plethora of pipe pistols. that i can only seam to sell for 1-2 bottle caps or deconstruct into one or 2 screws. depending on item condition. and after about 8 of those hours, compiling materials and a few quests. i still couldnt build a full on house (4 walls and a roof). So after i gave up on the building aspect of the game. i then got board of doing the same kind of quests over and over again. ether fetch, baby sit, kill something, or read an entire essay worth of hidden quest paths. I have been around the block a few times with these holotape and such story systems. Fallout 1 and especially Fallout 2 had them already. It wasnt new.

My next few hours. from hour 8 to about 12 i found one of my friends in game. And we didnt go on some massive adventure our the like. i was helping him get his quests done and the like he was helping with some of mine. We still couldnt really build much. And he got tired of just doing the same kind of quests as well.
From about hour 12 to 13 we just talked and tried to figure out the leveling system, some crafting, and where to go and do next. so from hour 13 to about 16 we went to the edge of the maps. We tried to find the largest landmarks. and we ended up getting frustrated as we kept running out of ammo, and getting chased down by a gang of 4 other players wanting to PvP.
My friend left on hour 16 and i went back to where i like to set up my shop. trying to work with the crafting system in some way. seeing what i could or couldnt do.
Then followed by me Alt-Tabing out of the game to see how to start looking for nuclear launch codes... to no real prevail.

My Review of this game is a 2/10. its boring. its empty. theres nothing at those cool looking locations. the story didnt hook me or my friend. the quests are generic MMO quests. its still buggy. and as i have seen from previous BGS games, they will remain buggy to the end of their life.
The Engine is too old for this stuff they expect it to do.
The players ruined my experience. but it was alright when i was playing with just my friend. the no push-to-talk system is cancerous.
There is no amusement to about 80% of these locations.
There is no random special encounters with lets say as happens in Fallout 3 or new vegas.
Its arsenal is lack luster. it will be an E.A. like system where i have to play some 100+h before i get to end game equipment. that i might not even have the level to use. I already got power armor frame and a minigun though. Ammo is harder to come across.
The survival aspect of this game is a joke. you dont get hungry or thirst too often at all. Softcore survival just means that you are to not have too harsh of a penalty on death... not have it become a massive chore when you actually need to drink or eat.
The game is alright for exploring and some time with friends. But thats all that is here. wide as an Ocean, deep as a puddle. ill give it points for the looks and the environment. but everything else? No.

Out of this entire experience, i came out feeling ripped off. I payed $65 pre-order... i get home to open my PHYSICAL CD case. to find that where the CD is, its a cardboard disk... THERE IS NO PHYSICAL COPY OF FALLOUT 76. and it was STILL a FULL PRICED game. Not only that but the pre-order from Gamesstop; Their special pre-order item? was a Fallout Sticker to put in your car window.

I have no idea what Bethesda is doing. idk if this is Todd's idea. but if this is a joke. it went right over all of our heads.

As of today. I know this wasnt your first Online game, Bethesda. i am no longer your fan. Goodbye Bethesda.

Other players simply exist, you don’t interact as much as you simply see each other, the base building is something I latched onto in an attempt to justify my hard earned dollars alas, this too hits a wall as you easily achieve everything you need from a base within a hour or so.

I love the world they have crafted. I like playing this with friends, which inherently makes the game fun for my personal expenses and possibly others.

I enjoy the 'survival' mechanics of the game and progression it provides to aiding your playstyle.

The innovations, where you have to scout out plans to craft your fortress, tho with some downsides but a good idea. The regions, another innovation giving all players places to go and fight to progress and not feel cheated at times, which again still issues. The settlement menu feels more fluid and easier to navigate, making it a joy to build, but that's all and now onto negatives. Now I'm level 37 and haven't discovered everything yet so the score could change but as it stands right now:

I hate stuttering. Never in my life have me and my mate felt so frustrated with a game where we enter a high-level area and the game decides to spawn not one, not 2 or even 5, but 15-20 enemies in the same locations. This threw us off and we were annoyed because it wasn't a quest to defend a workshop but the game-deciding to spawn in too many enemies that tho may seem to be a challenge, it stutters the screen. Even worse, they haven't addressed the automatic stuttering from the beta. Every time you fire an automatic, the game just starts to stutter and you end up missing a couple of bullets that could've killed them. I'm here trying to run a revolver and submachine gun build but can't cause the game decides to stutter. If this doesn't get address ASAP, this game isn't going to be as supported I'm afraid. My friend spoke on this in one of our sessions: What is a game with a beautiful open world to explore if it constantly lags on an ageing engine?

Limitations in the settlement are a pain in the ass. I get some of the premises behind it, being not being able to 'float structures' (to an extent) or building certain things. But you need plans for a rug, yes, a rug. Not the fancy bear ones but a simple rug. The budget is far too small or the budget cost for certain items like turrets and building is too much, either way, it prevents me from building a cool base for my mates and other players to hang out in the cause of the budget. Stash is also another issue. How the hell can i store items I may need later that are very valuable like most heavy guns and power armour bits if my stash had a limit? You simply can't.

Various bugs encountered, no surprise there. This one annoying bug has been really bullying my mate I play with and it's such a broken mess it drives him mad. The enemies that can melee him can do damage to him, even when it's not in range of him but still do the damage and he can't fight back, so he is basically fighting ghosts he can't kill. There are times where there would be naked versions for people characters that T pose, there are crashes which don't let you keep the workshops you claimed, the power armour skeleton glitch is back and many more I've not encountered but I'm sure you all have.

Having no NPCs for me is a big misstep in the wrong direction and makes the world empty, tho I can still play the game without them but it doesn't feel the same. All the charisma and flavour those NPCs had from previous games just made em so memorable and all were are here for is to listen to. I also don't like the linear quests, which is brought from fallout 4s story. Now I haven't done every single quest but from what I've done, it's all pretty linear. Do this, read that, kill it, listen, collect, defend all in its quest lines and now deviates from this formula that should've stayed in Fallout 4. But wait, its a "Fallout 4 multiplayer mod" as most tend to agree, where it has no NPCs and hasn't improved as much? maybe to an extent that your choice to decide.

Overall, Fallout 76 is an average experience for the player. If you like to play with friends, you will have a lot of fun with them. If you play individually, all the tools are there for you, but at the cost of losses, which you may not like. Though the game does provide good quality of life improvement and a rich world to explore, it is still plagued by issues of the creation engine with all the bugs and glitches that weren't touched and resolved. All I can personally say to Bethesda is this, "roll out weekly updates, patch issue consistently and keep making content, or else your game is going to suffer like it's starting.

Some of my best battles in Fallout 4 came when I stumbled across an outpost and found there a raider in there; he’d yell and scream at me as we were facing off. The Scorched, while armed, feel like nothing more than zombies.

The addition of multiplayer feels as though it comes at the expense of Fallout’s memorable story-driven moments. What good is a vast map full of players if they're given little to no purpose? When no other players are around, the game’s world feels almost empty. The attention-grabbing locales and landmarks add to Appalachia's charm, but it's difficult to not wish for living, breathing characters to inhabit it. Post-apocalyptic West Virginia is described as a wasteland, and this term paints an inadvertent but accurate picture of what Fallout 76 is right now.

If you enjoy multiplayer games of this type and are willing to overlook the engine anomalies, you may find yourself rapidly addicted to the game's exploration density and loot systems. If you're easily frustrated by bugs and issues, you may want to sit tight a bit to see what Bethesda does to polish things up, cus oh boy, it could use a bit right now. If you're a fan of the single player, branching narrative the series is known for, you'll want to wait for Fallout 5.
