Bit of a shame that folk are jumping on a hate driven bandwagon, since the game is a lot of fun. The Roanoke-style mystery at the core of the game is interesting, the base building from FO4 has a lot more context now people can visit them and the different areas all have their own interesting stuff going on.
Thankfully fans don't seem to need a metacritic score to validate their enjoyment.

Fallout 76 is the best (and most addictive) game I've played in the last 5 years (and my current gamerscore is at 128000, so I've played a few other games in those years). It takes most things I've loved about the Fallout franchise and gives the player a new and interesting part of the wasteland to explore, which by the way is four times as large as the environment of Fallout4.

Playing with friends is purely optional, but makes the game even better in my opinion. I'm already looking forward to future DLC and hope to spend a lot of time exploring and conquering this amazing game with my friends.

People need to stop giving an unfairly bad review because they have issues with minor things.

The game has bugs, they had a weird server issue at launch, and yea its the same engine and graphics as fallout 4. But, it has lots of content, missions, PVP and PVE, a huge world to explore and tons of fun to be had with friends. I've had a blast so far, don't let anti-hype get in your way

This is genuinely my favorite fallout game in some time. It's different, but in a good way. There's still lots to discover, lots to build, lots to learn and find, lots to shoot. Only real drawback is the 400 lb stash limit, which even that is workable if you can shelve your inner hoarder and sell off some that junk you don't REALLY need to save for later. I don't miss the human NPCs you still get to learn all about the ones that WERE alive in the area. Sure there's some bugs, but none that have made the game unbearable or even annoying to play for me. If you like crafting, if you like survival, if you like adventure, if you like strategically hauling loot to your base or a shop, if you don't mind the idea of encountering evidence that other human beings exist in a geographic area the size of state...I'd recommend this game. This game is a lot of fun. It keeps the same atmosphere as the other fallout games and has a wide arrangment of new and eerie places to explore. It keeps the same atmosphere as the other fallout games and has a wide arrangment of new and eerie places to explore. I've met people online to play with, that I now play with regularly, and that's actually really nice. After all, one of Fallout 76's biggest boasts to date has been the concept of "doing it together" - the idea of having the game bring players together in a group to explore: which, for me, it certainly has done.

To be honest, if you're reading this with the actual hope of getting a fair opinion on the game, I'm not sure why so many people are upset with it at its launch (which is when I'm writing this). It's not a perfect game but it definitely doesn't deserve to be bombarded with 0s by folks who haven't, and who refuse to, play the game for themselves - which is why I'm giving it a 10. Why is it that a game made to bring players together, with seemingly good intentions, possesses so many people to act so negatively? As though to try and tear the community down before it even has a chance to walk.

I understand people wish it were a single player game and I'm pretty sure Bethesda has said that they'll continue to make single player games after Fallout 76. This game tries something different which, respectfully, is quite a brave thing to do.

Now, if you can't get by the idea of something which takes the road less traveled by then so be it; this game isn't for you and that's okay - but if you're welcome to new ideas and like the prospect of joining a community of players who are as well then Fallout 76 offers a unique opportunity: to emerge form the vault together.

Hope to see you in the wasteland!

Now for the people that put 0... buy the game and play it before submitting a review. People want the truth about the game not some story from someone who has never played.

I also blame Meta for allowing users to submit the review without reviewing the review first.

Each of the three aforementioned things are desperately needed for an online, open world game to be enjoyable, and they were glaringly absent at launch. Luckily, though Bethesda initially handled criticism and controversy surrounding the game rather poorly, they have since buckled down on improving the Fallout 76 experience, and largely, they have succeeded in doing so. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. If you liked Fallout 4 for the missions and crafting, you should like this game. I have been playing it non-stop since I bought it and I love it! There ARE problems... you will bet get disconnected from the server sometimes; however, it will put you right back where you were with everything you had. If you were "inside" a quest site, it will put you outside.

I have the regular XBOX One and I don't experience or really notice that much lag or frame degradation - perfectly playable.

There are no NPC's, but a huge part of Fallout 4 used tapes and robots to move the story along, so it isn't that bad. I think they did a good job with telling the stories and integrating everything. So, there are a lot of quests with multiple parts that I found very interesting.

I play alone, but I often interact with others. We trade things from time to time; I help people who get killed when I find them; and I work with others to complete missions. I am NOT part of a group with them, but simply working together at the same time. I keep the sound of others off and never hear them. There ARE a few grievers out there. I feel sorry for them as they don't know how to interact normally with people - bless their hearts! Be sure you set your settings so you don't accidentally
shoot them, and you can ignore them for the session. You can also just log off and log back on.

What I enjoy most is that there is a sense of danger to the world. For example, I was about level 12 and walking along a very quiet and nice highway. I noticed a couple of eyes quite a bit ways up ahead of me and hit my V.A.T.S. to see what it was -- it was a Level 35 Mothman!! Yikes! I took a different route. This reminded me so much of SKYRIM and walking right into a Dragon one time that was just randomly sitting on the road. Don't worry about the leveling though; if you follow the main quest line, you will find things appropriate to your level. You will also find some things you aren't ready for, so stay alert!

They have fixed quite a few of the things that were initially a problem in the beta. They increased the storage to 600 lbs. To be honest, managing that is kind of fun and it's a part of the game; you don't actually need all that stuff!! You will find it all over and find it very quickly. The monster spawning is now just about right; I finish areas all the time way before they re-spawn again. When someone else enters the area, the monsters DO come back, but the other person is there to help clean things up. Just work together for a bit and then keep on truckin'.

I gave the game a 10 based on whether I want to play it non-stop or not. I can't wait to get back to the game and find some more cool gear or just wander around aimlessly and seeing what happens next. You can't go very far before you either find something or something finds you!

I've loved this series since the very beginning. Yes, even the action-RPG Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel. I've played them all to death, and I can say with complete confidence... I'm having as much fun exploring post-apocalyptic West Virginia as I've had everywhere else the series has taken me.

I've loved this series since the very beginning. Yes, even the action-RPG Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel. I've played them all to death, and I can say with complete confidence... I'm having as much fun exploring post-apocalyptic West Virginia as I've had everywhere else the series has taken me.

In some ways, Fallout 76 is the best one so far, in my opinion. Since it's online-only, there's no pause feature, so I better find a fairly safe place to hide when I need to step away from my Xbox for a minute. More than once, I've returned to find that some beastie has turned me into a snack. It's intense.

They've included many of the Survival Mode features from Fallout: New Vegas as mandatory game requirements in 76, and that adds another layer of intensity. Instead of providing a pile of groceries to sell for caps, you now have to scavenge for and craft food and drink to consume, or your hunger and thirst will weaken you and eventually get you killed. Ammo now has weight, so you can't stockpile bullets and cells without taking a serious hit to your Action Points as you explore. I love it.

The crafting has been expanded, and because I'm a natural born hoarder in games like this, I just can't get enough of this change. If it isn't nailed down, I'm taking it and making something cool with it. =D

But probably my favorite change is to the game world itself. It's easily the most vibrant wasteland in the series and the abundance of color reminds me so much of Oblivion's game world, another welcome change from the oppressing grays and browns of the last few games. In addition, they've greatly varied the lighting levels - many indoor areas are so dark that you're all but forced to use your Pip-Boy light... which makes you a monster magnet, adding yet another layer of intensity.

It all adds up to a fantastic experience, in my book. It's not trying to be Fortnite and I wouldn't be playing it if it was. I can't wait to see what they add, if Elder Scrolls Online is any precedent!

That said, I feel compelled to finish my review by asking the zero-score bombers one simple question and then setting some things straight...

What did you think you were getting?

Bethesda made it very clear from the beginning what Fallout 76 would be: A vast desolate post-apocalyptic exploration game with online multiplayer features in place of the previous games' NPC interactions, set in the hills and valleys of West Virginia, while still enabling the wonderfully lonely solo play we all know and love - and that's exactly what we got.

Enjoy the game or go play something you do like. Fallout is the game it has been since 2008. Stop with the hate already.

The world is beautiful and I'm in love with the map design being an actual map. Getting to play a Fallout game with friends has been greatly enjoyable too, a lot better than I actually expected it to be as I held low hopes after all the launch issues ESO had on it's release. There's always stuff to do, the left side of my screen constantly gains more quests throughout playing and completing others, it's slow going getting quests at first but as you find more places you soon find you aren't lacking for stuff to do and there's also the events on top of that giving even more, Bethesda really took a risky step here but they've pulled it off better than they did ESO to be honest Expand

There are also plenty of npcs, though they are not human, they are still quest giving npcs. What does it matter whether they are human or not? I also have never hit the 400 stash limit despite me being the main camp builder on our team. Its called inventory management. You scrap your junk and it decreases the weight immensely. And you still have plenty of room for collecting legendary weapons. You also learn not to get too attatched to items you will never use, and just sell or scrap them. There are bugs here and there that I have encountered, but they are mostly visual and do not effect gameplay, it actually gives me a laugh. We have 3 generations of our family having a blast exploring together! The day 1 content and quests fare well against any day 1 mmorg ive ever played. The key will be how Bethesda evolves the world through updates and dlc content. Those of you disappointed this didn't give you enough of a new experience, it is not Fallout V. Re-review the game a year from now and see how it stacks - against other mmorgs, not other single player campaign based games. Play RDR2 (great game!) if thats what you're looking for.

Glitches continue to be an issue but no worse than fallout IV or Skyrim. For example last night my wife and I were playing together - she was as unable to see any containers even though i joined her server. She had to log out and back in to fix the issue.

No npcs didnt bother me as much as i expected. After so many games where npcs behave as lifeless statues killing my momentum, it was refreshing to let holotapes play while I continue to explore and loot. It improves game pacing at the expense of a sense of lonliness. Another reason to play with friends!

So tired of the game engine feedback. With Microsoft and Playstation gearing up for new consoles in 2021 why wouldn't a company stretch the current engine to its limit? Sorry gamers but Bethesda is in the business of making money. I would rather have Fallout 76 for what it is versus waiting another 3 years for a next gen game and console. PC gamers, get over it - you're a dying revenue stream so you will continue to see less dev effort. Enjoy what you get or make the move to console. I dont miss my keyboard and neck pain :-)

My own impressions(not review since you know, I'm only 25 hours in):
There is definitely valid criticism for FO76 (like any game) but from my experience, its been tons of fun and surprisingly stable (bugs and all during BETA).

My background: 25+ years of gaming, 10 years of modding. My ideal Bethesda multiplayer experience has always been a 4-6 cooperative experience. FO76 went a little bigger than I expected which is good and bad. I'm 95% a PC player but this recently got an Xbox One for RDR2 and FO76 because my friends are on console.

Before I continue, anyone saying that some multiplayer wasn't a request by the fans is dead wrong. Quote from 2011 before Skyrim release from Todd Howard: "The two most requested features we get are dragons and multiplayer. We got one of them this time!”

Also, if you understand game development. Multiplayer is extremely hard to develop, especially when its a hybrid singleplayer/multiplayer experience and as complex as most Bethesda games. There is a reason why most companies don't attempt it and split the genre.

    Pros:
-Massive map with lots of content. I've explored maybe 5% of the game with 25 hours in. Now that BETA is over, I will likely take my time so there is tons of content out there. Does not feel repetitive so far and each area feels fresh and unique. Lots of detail! View Distance is amazing.

-Multiplayer within the Creation Engine (and all its pros/cons). The reason I love that they implemented multiplayer in the creation engine is that it feels and plays like a genuine Bethesda game but now with multiplayer vs making an entirely new engine and essentially separate game.

-Lots of quests. The quests have lots of content and voice acting but its tough to listen to all of it when you're with friends. If you're soloing though, there is plenty of content here to get enveloped in the story/lore.

-Private servers for all, Modding support for PC, the sky is the limit! Bethesda has been allowing heavy modding in their games for over a decade. Bethesda said full private custom servers for FO76 will be supported and that means anything you don't currently like about the game, could be essentially modded in with the heavy lifting of multiplayer implementation DONE.

-Crafting/Base Building: Lots to craft and lots to build. Both systems work well and have been expanded since FO4.

    Cons:

-UI/Sorting needs more work: These are minor but frustrating when trying to organize your inventory. I expect it to get some improvements overtime.

-Stash Limits: Though there are ways to mitigate it, the current limit too small and needs to be expanded in an intuitive way. Bethesda said they are going to do this eventually.

-Performance issues (Xbox One S): Though this has gotten better since BETA, I feel like there is room for improvement. On one hand, I love that Bethesda doesn't hold back. A horde of enemy AI IS a horde of enemy AI but when your frame rate dips its hard to enjoy it. Hopefully they can find the sweet spot in highly dense areas.

Overall, this feels like a Bethesda open world experience with Friends though a bit watered down which was expected given the work to add multiplayer (modding support is key here). This is some of the most fun I've had in a game in some time. I've always dreamed of playing a Bethesda game with friends and I feel like they captured that completely.

I have not had any game-breaking bugs, any unplayable experiences, any hatred towards an aspect of the game, and have had fun alone and with my friends. Play the game for more than 5 minutes instead of blindly judging it. In fact, many of the reviews on this are people blaming the company and calling them EA or Activision. That is ridiculous. "A quick cash grab" and "Micro-transaction hungry" is just a lie. The amount of work that went into this game is huge, so it's definitely not a "quick cash grab", and the Atoms Shop? It's literally all visual. No advantage is given from buying outfits or facepaints, and they can all be found in-game. It has a story, one we all share an experience with, the amount of research and implementation made on the new enemies and on the lore of West Virginia definitely shows, Mods will be a thing, I don't know who started the "No mods" statement but they are wrong.

Now that that is out of the way, this game is, simply put, just really fun. It is built for multiplayer, but it can be enjoyed solo (I have played about 33 hours solo including the BETA), and its one of the most fun gaming experiences I've had. Sure it doesn't have human NPC's, and that take away from its personality, but it still has that Fallout touch in the non-human NPC's and the special moments that happen. At level 23 I went in a cave and had one of the most intense, fun moments I've ever had. The cave was filled with nuclear waste barrels, and I was half irradiated before I found a HazMat suit. With the suit on and no armor rating, I got in a fight with a level 30 Legendary (Or champion, the one with the crown, whatever its called) Alpha Deathclaw! Over a few minutes I whittled it down and finished it off with a plasma grenade, and when that thing died I was so excited I had to take a picture with it (the photo-mode is a great addition to the game).

This game isn't perfect, I've had enemies spawn in walls, a t-posing protectron saying Mr. Gutsy voice lines (I'm not joking, it was one of the funniest things I've ever seen), my camp has been deleted a few times, but its still a work in progress, and Bethesda is working hard to fix it. If you have doubts, nobody is forcing you to buy the game, but give it a few weeks and stop giving it a 0 score before you actually PLAY THE DAMN GAME.

But thats just my two cents, I know the game isn't for everyone, but you just need to stop expecting it to be New Vegas 2 and give it a chance, trust me, its worth the money :)

It's much like playing Fallout 4 on Survival mode and adds definite weight to the ideas of hunger, thirst and radiation exposure. The world is gigantic and though devoid of NPCs is filled with background lore and the untold stories of the skeletons, corpses and the charred remains littering the environment. If you enjoyed searching for lore and background in games like FO4 and Skyrim there's a lot to love about 76.
The main issue I've run into is how heavy all the items are, and though being over-encumbered is no longer the game halting experience it was in the single player games, it still is extremely inconvenient having to drop precious scrap to fast travel or engage in combat.

What this is not is Fallout 5 or even anything close to another full game in the series. Bethesda's buggy builds are still on display and playing the game alone can be a plodding time if you're expecting more surface level interaction.

Overall the game requires more of the player to get what they want out of it, lore is buried and like any action RPG/shooter some grinding is required to get worthwhile weapons or supplies. It feels like a Fallout game and plays as much. I believe any real critiques of 76 will be slowly smoothed over by Bethesda and it will find it's place in the series, if not as a sequel as a good proof-of-concept.

I absolutely love this game even with it's early game bugs. I have been a fan of Fallout since the beginning and this game is a bold and brave attempt to give people what they asked for with Fallout 4, online gaming in a Fallout Universe.

What I really enjoy about the game (I've played 76 since the pre-BETA stress Test)

--Microtransactions - the ability to trade and barter with other Vault Dwellers adds a fun twist to the game, no more depending on just NPC merchants (which 76 does have)
--The vastness of Applachia - promises hours of game time with no repeat encounters
--Being able to join up with fellow Vault Dwellers to creat actual Fallout communities
--Crafting - being able to make literally anything and everything myself. You do need plans and blueprints
--Blueprinting - Once you build your palace/castle you can blueprint it so if you move your CAMP it can be rebuilt with ease.
--Moveable CAMP - A portable workstation to enables the Vault Dweller to have immediate access to literally any workstation or Basecamp feature on the go. You do need to pay caps to move once it's been built once.

Secondly, a lot of the negative reviews are flawed, with some being complete lies. Many people who disliked the game (not all, but a majority), disliked it because it wasn't like other fallout games. That is complete nonsense. When you play a game, base it off of itself, especially when it's new. Also, a lot of the bugs that people have been experiencing, I personally haven't experienced.

Finally, what I think is most important, is you should ignore the reviews. Buy it if you think it looks good, don't buy it if you don't. Most reviews are entirely based on opinion, and you don't need to share your their opinion.

So, overall, great game, lots of fun stuff to do, even if it has a few unfinished aspects.

P.S. Anyone whining about the holotapes needs to get over themselves. In my opinion, NPC's are so much more annoying.

It's not a perfect game though, but none really are and it isn't the best Fallout game out there either.

Does this game have bugs? Yes it does, but nothing game breaking and nothing that can't be fixed .

If you've enjoyed any of the Bethesda Fallout games and go in with an open mind, as a fan not looking to be negative like so many others, but looking to enjoy yourself, you'll have a great time.

    Highly recommend.

Hell, ars technica’s reviewer gave it a ding for having no “non-binary option” in character selection option!

Anyway, as someone who has played Fallout since the second one on PC I will say that after logging in last night with a friend and playing around 4 hours F76 is a lot of fun. My favorite aspects of Fallout 4 were base building and getting in to crazy combat encounters. Now those things can happen in some pretty well implemented multiplayer. I found the new story telling method a little weird at first but I started to enjoy it once I got the hang of the gameplay loop. Performance was acceptable and the game looks pretty amazing. I do want to get it for Xbox one X eventually for some 4K goodness but it played perfectly fine on Xbox one.

Haters are gunna hate but this is a solid good time.

Yeah sure, the game is buggy. The dev team rushed as hell to launch the game on time. I'm good with that, at least I have the chance to start playing it right now. Hope the dev team gets the chance to iterate and keep updating the game.

Short words: yeah, Fallout 4 online, bug map, bugs to solve, online, you may play without any living humans nearby, and avoid people if you want. Love it

-2 points because the graphics plan was not for the Xbox One. Maybe it looks better on an Xbox X (or Pro or whatever).

It's far from perfect, but this is day one. Being an online game means that it will be fixed often, so many of these flaws are more likely to be fixed soon, so this is no big deal for me right now. It's not a game for everyone, but it's definitely a game for me.

My favorite part of these games is exploration--digging through old buildings, finding holotapes, notes and terminal entries that tell compelling stories about a world before it was destroyed, or the stories of survivors. If you liked that part of the earlier titles, you'll love this game too. Fallout 76 takes that to a whole new level. The stories you find are more nuanced, more detailed, and lead you on a journey to find out more. Some are brief, others will lead you on a day long side quest. The dark, cynical humor is here, the depth is here--everything you expect from a Fallout game is here--it's just a little different than the others.

I've enjoyed the multiplayer encounters I've had, other players seem to be overwhelmingly friendly, but that's been a small part of my game so far. It may become more of a necessity later in the game, but with nearly 40 hours invested, playing solo hasn't been the problem that many feared.

Yes, this game has bugs, some are serious, most will just make you laugh. Yes, there are mechanical elements that need to be addressed and have been commented on ad nauseam, but nothing that's hampered my ability to have as much fun playing this game as any other Fallout game.

This game's problem isn't what it is, it's that it isn't what many expect or want it to be. It doesn't do things that other games do--even though it's easy to assume it will. It's not an MMO, it's not a traditional RPG, it's not a PvP battle royale...it's something that kind of touches all of those things but doesn't neatly fit into a category. That surely leaves some people feeling disappointed, but I think it's a good thing. I've had nothing but good experiences with Fallout 76.

At first I was a little disappointed in that but there are two very good reasons for that, First: You are supposed to play with your friends! it was created to play together and my Wife and I are having a blast playing together and enjoy running into other players and figuring out if they are hostile or friendly and making new friends, It's great! Second: everyone died in the apocalypse! you are the first people to come out of the vault and need to rebuild, and they are true to that concept but there are still deep and emotional stories everywhere for you to find and experience, I find the stories of the people that lived and tried to survive after the bombs fell a very engaging story line for you AND your friends to find and talk about. in other multiplayer games when there is a NPC, what happens? a bunch of people are crowded around them and it breaks the emersion, I think this was a better way to do it and there are still robots that act as NPC's when necessary. please give this game a try, it is not really a single player experience (I wouldn't mind it) but if you wanted to play fallout 4 with your friends this is a great way for you to do it with and I think we are going to spend a lot of time really enjoying this game.

I've played the stress test and 90% of the BETAs and this game is more Fallout. Yes, it uses the same ol engine (which has been graphically improved) and still relies on the PipBoy for it's menu system (also improved from Fallout 4) but is still a good Fallout game. Every Bethesda game has weird bugs and this is no exception as they've heavily modified the engine to incorporate multiplayer. The combat is mainly the same with the exception of VATS which just takes a couple minutes to get used to. The lack of NPCs is incorporated into the story beats which end up being conveyed via audio logs (a la Bioshock).

I've run into a handful of bugs (nothing game breaking [looking at you Red Dead 2]) but have overall had a great time wether playing solo or with a team. With lots of planned support, events, updates and fixes expected throughout the year, this may be a game that looks entirely different a year from now (looking at you Sea of Thieves). It's not going to be the Game of the Year, but certainly isn't the 1's and 0's that the whiny minority of the internet is claiming it is on here.

First of all, I understand all the 1 star reviews- this game is not like other Fallout games at all and is very much a niche game for certain types of players. It kind of reminds me more of Asheron's Call- exploration and staking area claims over any set story or overlying series of mandatory quests.

For me, I was not thrilled with this game the first day with the hunger, thirst and constant shortage of wood and resources while having heavy radiation poisoning with no Rad Away(s). However, all of that is quickly minor once in a few days and you explore. *SPOILER* You can set up camp right next to a farm and cook up 100 corn soups in twenty minutes of efforts that will keep you fed AND hydrated for days of play, with certain perk cards even longer. The further you progress and level, the less and less the annoyances of this game become, by design. Started out is a chore and then it quickly became fun (for me). Encountering other players has been a positive experience (for the most part on XBox). I solo but sometimes join a pickup group at one of the many active quest locations. I do not care to PvP yet so I enjoy giving people wanted tags when they want to persist to annoy, one day, I will be hunting them. Of course, some feel otherwise and hate this PvP system which I also understand. Again, no game will ever please everyone, each game is for a niche audience.

The reason I am not giving this game a 10 are the bugs. I cannot use power armor because my character is bugged which is major. You can't text chat and can either open mic or no mic/no hear. Camp randomly has to be reset sometimes which is very minor. Crashing after a death when loaded with junk is annoying but minor. Also, soloing is heavily penalized by way of groups getting full exp and loot from each kill they tag. And, grouping with friends allows one to overcome the ridiculous storage limit of 400 in your storage chest. It is hard to find your instance if you want to try and solo mule and drop items to an alt. You will quickly reach max storage even throwing out all worthless garbage, meaning discarding valuable resources you may well need later. So, a lot of early looting, scrapping, storing and eventually just throwing away. Somewhat pointless. With the perk cards, the perfect mule can be made, hopefully one day we can also have a shared storage chest amongst all characters so soloers can also mule as people can easily via their friends to alts. And, yes the graphics are dated and the game is still largely empty and full of the same items and baddies, just altered a bit-

All said, I'm just having a blast playing it, moreso than any other MMO to date and I expect lots more to be added and fixed by the next expansion.

Instead of guiding you on the path to rebuilding the world after nuclear armageddon they have given every player the freedom to explore the world at his/her own pace. I truly believe Fallout 76 is a magnificent concept, being able to interact with others while exploring the glowing mysteries of Appalachia. NPCs from previous Fallout games were really well done and helped with immersion to a certain extent but having such a big map populated just with AI is dull for a 2018 game, especially Fallout. With Fallout 76, the story is scattered around the map for players to piece together, just like a puzzle. I think this sort of challenge is great but it certainly isn't as appealing to everyone that played previous Fallout games, especially Fallout 4. I believe that one of the most important aspects of this game is that the current concept caters mostly to hardcore fans due to the amount of planning, strategy and patience one must have in order to succeed.
The online world of Fallout has a huge amount of potential for diversification, which I am really looking forward to.
The Fallout 76 in game community is amazing and I can genuinely say that I've never seen before people that are so helpful even though they don't have anything to gain. Sure, there are a few griefers but that is to be expected from an online game with such a big fan base.
In terms of gameplay I must say that the graphics have definitely improved since Fallout 4 but there are quite a few glitches and bugs which I hope will be fixed in the future. Sometimes there are also performance issues such as freezes and crashes but they don't happen as often as they did during B.E.T.A.
Overall I can say that I love the new approach Bethesda has taken with Fallout and even though it might take a little while for everything to be the way the devs want to, I'm sure the journey ahead is going to be epic. Kudos Bethesda!

But it’s hard to feel as if you’re truly affecting the world when there are no NPCs to express satisfaction or disdain, or to be directly influenced by your actions. Even killing feels hollow. Some of my best battles in Fallout 4 came when I stumbled across an outpost and found there a raider in there; he’d yell and scream at me as we were facing off. The Scorched, while armed, feel like nothing more than zombies.

The addition of multiplayer feels as though it comes at the expense of Fallout’s memorable story-driven moments. What good is a vast map full of players if they're given little to no purpose? When no other players are around, the game’s world feels almost empty. The attention-grabbing locales and landmarks add to Appalachia's charm, but it's difficult to not wish for living, breathing characters to inhabit it. Post-apocalyptic West Virginia is described as a wasteland, and this term paints an inadvertent but accurate picture of what Fallout 76 is right now.

If you enjoy multiplayer games of this type and are willing to overlook the engine anomalies, you may find yourself rapidly addicted to the game's exploration density and loot systems. If you're easily frustrated by bugs and issues, you may want to sit tight a bit to see what Bethesda does to polish things up, cus oh boy, it could use a bit right now. If you're a fan of the single player, branching narrative the series is known for, you'll want to wait for Fallout 5.
