This was pretty cheap DLC when I compare it to hours of use. I've demolished and reconstructed my entire main settlement to accommodate a caged animal battle arena. I sort of think Bethesda should look at some of this DLC as a free option, but it's not breaking the bank so far for the DLC they've offered with FO4

For me, brighter lights and the neon letters are sufficient for $5. I suspect I won't use cages much, but whatever. I got the season pass; If I like a game, I don't mind paying to super-size it. If lighting is important to you, this is worth it. If you are operating in the "got to catch it all" DLC mentality, you might be disappointed.

    Pros...

New stuff... The plant tray is great, but even that is limited as it can't be used in places like the Mechanist lair. Which also can't host an arena either. The concrete buildings are nice. Especially walls with windows. The stackable bus walls would of been fantastic, but they seem to need to be level. So unless you use the rug glitch it's almost pointless. My favorite part is

My favorite part is the rads scrubber thing. I leave it on at my entrance and it cleans me of radiation every time.

    Cons...

Cages... They are unwieldy, not uniform. Why Bethesda didn't make them the same size so you can place them outside the walls, so it's like their own entrance is beyond me. Require electricity. Get broken after each fight. You either have to place them in the arena or build the cage into a wall. Which can take up a bunch of your building space. Some require rare food as bait to build and repair. They also only have a chance to capture something. So you may end up with some lame matches. The requirements are really high for a console player. 4 Yao Gaui meat for a death claw cage is pretty absurd. PC users have mods and commands so they would think that's great. But my guy is level 134 and I see a Yao Gaui like once every 10 levels. And my 2 meat drop magazine perk only works 1/10 times.

And since mods are supposed to come to the consoles soon just about everything about this mod seems pointless. I guess it gives console players that chance to say who would win in a fight. But it's too costly and time consuming to be worth it.

Bethesda didn't even throw us a bone and mark the Combat Zone as a settlement so we could build an arena there. We can't bet on fights. My settlers don't even watch the fights. I can't even build an arena in the Mechanist lair. And the neon lights are the same size, which is way to small and not bright enough for my arena.

I just wished the arena was more reliable.

Staging fights and being able to spruce up your settlement more is always appreciated, but even for a small DLC, there's even less than you might be expecting here and it does lose its charm fairly quickly.

Without a story or a proper introduction, Wasteland Workshop feels a bit thin. The traps and the arena concepts are fun, but everything else gets lost in the already complex repertoire and, in the end, the whole package seems disjointed. Good thing this DLC is a cheap one.
