Not only does it add quite a few new items to the workshop but offers a whole new venue. You have the ability to create an arena where you can battle captured creatures, or your settlers. This new dlc offers many hours of playing to a huge game with a great price tag.… Expand

Compared to Automatron this second dose of content is a lot smaller, however the price reflects this. My score reflects the expected amount and delivery of what I expected.
   
   This package contains a lot of extra items to customise your settlements. If this is an attractive part of the Fallout 4 experience for you, then this DLC is essential. There are new lighting items, an excellent generator (which will save you lots of room, time and hassle) and other traps, building materials and neon signs.
   
   If none of this appeals, what is left is the creature traps and the arena functionality. The traps work by placing them in your settlement, waiting a few days and opening the traps when the door is closed. That's that. Arena work by allocating settlers to one of two pads and then watch the ensuing battle. Fighting against creatures involves one pad for the humanoid character in an enclosed ring with a creature inside a trap. It all sounds relatively simple, except it isn't. This is why I docked the games points. The system is fiddly, the AI is frustrating and after getting one arena fight to work, I was relieved to leave this portion of the game, never to return. On attaining the trophy, only 0.1% of other players had achieved the same. I read this as, 0.1% could be bothered to get it to work as intended.
   
   What I would have liked to have seen would have been extra things to do in the settlements. Give a wider variety of jobs, make allocating settlers easier, have a quick view of what each settler was doing with drop down menu's to change jobs on the fly. As it stands, the additional items and traps are welcome, but the arena is infuriating.… Expand

   Mediocre Game and an Insult to every Fallout-Veteran. Still better than F76 tho. DONT BUY!

   As DLCs from major publishers go, this one is pretty much a dud. The only people who should spend their cash on this are the achievementAs DLCs from major publishers go, this one is pretty much a dud. The only people who should spend their cash on this are the achievement hoarders (guilty as charged) or folks who found the settlement building aspect of the base game thrilling.
   
   Personally, I enjoyed the settlement building mechanic, and devoted quite a chunk of time to that aspect of the game, but when I ran up against the hard caps in both settlers and objects that the game allows each settlement to have, I lost interest. This DLC doesn't change that, it mostly just gives you some new lighting options to play with. Which, if that is your cup of tea, go right ahead.
   
   The other thing this DLC provides is a new arena fighting mechanic. It allows you to construct cages for all different kinds of wasteland creatures, and then with the correct constructions you can host no-holds-barred cage matches amongst them. The idea behind this feature is nifty, but it's execution is pretty bland. Cage matches are really not all that compelling...unless of course you enjoyed watching NPC factions battle it out amongst themselves with their antiquated animations in the base game. It's just sort of blah.
   
   But the biggest problem with this DLC is the same major problem that was crippling to many players of the vanilla game: VIRTUALLY NO TUTORIAL TO SPEAK OF. I've been playing video games for 25 years at this point, so I don't need every little thing spelled out for me. But that being said, purchasing a paid DLC and then having very little idea of how to use it is kind of a drag. I figured out how to get everything to work, but it doesn't TELL you how to set up an arena fight until AFTER you've already constructed all the components you need for it.
   
   Automatron was a perfectly fine DLC for a triple-A title like Fallout 4. This one is not really worth the 30-60 minutes worth of gameplay you'll get out of it. I hope for better with the next DLC.… Expand
