Ok so this DLC offers more than the tiny little story addition. The handy bit is being able to make robots to ill up settlements that just aren't growing.Cheap DLC and a lot of add ons for people that like the crafting side of FO4.

Thoroughly enjoyed my time, and got exactly what I expected. Its a $10 DLC so I did not expect it to be the size of say The Lonesome Road or Point Lookout. Should have been in game from the start.

A few hours of content at best for 10$. Generic story, generic villain. Buy hey, customizable robot companions and a couple new weapons that you'll probably never use are cool, right? Overall this gives returning players no real reason to play any more than the few meager missions it offers. I expected more from Bethesda.

Pretty decent add on for Fallout 4, though I kinda expected more. GIves a reason to dust off the game disc if you're one like I am who did everything in the basegame and got all loot and whatnot.

Starts off pretty promising, but once you get to the final mission, it gets really repetitive and you spend a lot of time meandering, which I thought took away from this DLC and keeps me from

The robot creation is a neat addition, though, I don't necessarily know how many would really put THAT much time into it, but being able to make Ada your companion and modify her is neat. I guess I expected a more immersive experience as I finished this DLC in 1 hour and 58 minutes, but I guess it being $10 shows it wasn't going to be massive, but it's better than starting off Fallout 4 DLC with a flop I suppose. Ready to see what else they have planned for us.

It would of been a fantastic DLC if they launched it a month after initial launch, but 4 months later, it's just disappointing. The quest line itself is just too short and not imaginative at all. If I were just rating the quest I would have to give this a 2 or less.

Where this add on shines is bang for the buck. It adds buildable robots. there are a ton of options here. Especially if

Where this add on shines is bang for the buck. It adds buildable robots. there are a ton of options here. Especially if your character develops the perks to build all of these things. It also adds a few new player useable weapons, and armors. You get a couple of companions and you can pretty much make robot settlers. If you make the right choice at the end it appears you also get a new radiant quest.
More value is added when you consider next month's add on will add a means to fight settlers and monster's in a "combat zone" style arena of your creation. The buildable robots from this DLC should fit in perfectly with that.

They also added many story seeds including a new raider group the Dust Devils. The Mechanist as a radiant super hero ala Silver Shroud type of quest could easily be added at a later date.

Sadly it does have Bethesda's other calling card, plenty of bugs/glitches. But those just seem to come with Bethesda's large game worlds.

The cream of the crop in uninteresting stories, Fallout 4: Automatron works perfectly as a alternative sleeping pill, but creates an abysmal first impression for what is to come in Fallout 4's season pass. So why exactly deserve this statement and score? you might ask. Well let me bring out my trolley full of issues for this DLC.

    1. How do you want to approach this DLC good, good or good? Now where this was more prominent in the base game release. There is a lack of choice and RPG elements once again present in Automaton. As the same white picket fence responses are once again forced upon you, even the sarcastic options sound like they were written by Mr Rodgers himself making the entire story approach feel wooden and lifeless.

    2. Hope you like crafting!. With Automatron comes more and more building, and considering that Preston Garvey sucked the enjoyment out of settlement building with those tedious minutemen quests. It was no surprise that i ended up forcing myself to use the games "new exciting feature" to progress further into the main story which only led to future disappointment

    3. Want a new companion?, well your now forced to use her anyway. Automatron introduce ADA, a highly distracted, buggy and weak companion that about 70% of the time just ends up knocking itself out, where Danse or Piper would have been my original choice the story drives to a staggering holt during the final act in which you are forced to finally make use of her, that is if she doesn't glitch into an object or stop mid-action during the endgame

    4. The couldn't care less about what happens. This plot was cliche to the point where it gave Michael Bay a run for his money, Bad guy wanted to be a good guy, check; Robots have feeling too, check; World would be better off without humans, check. The list goes on, it's honestly giving me a headache just thinking about it.

    Verdict: save you're money

Automatron brings robot crafting to the game and even has it's own quests. The quests themselves are short, but They all have some pretty exciting combat. The new robot enemies you'll encounter are downright savage at times. They pack a lot of firepower and can often take a lot of punishment. It's best you bulk up before tackling these dungeons.

The new robot enemies you'll encounter are downright savage at times. They pack a lot of firepower and can often take a lot of punishment. It's best you bulk up before tackling these dungeons.

This leads to some really intense firefights that can be quite a blast. The final dungeon drags on for a bit and at the end forces you to go through a lengthy series of waves before it's conclusion, but for the most part battling it out with these robots were some of the most enjoyable combat encounters I've had playing the game. Even better is looting these robots afterwards and taking their parts to build your own robot companions.

Now I'm not big into the crafting side of things, but just having the option to build and customize my own robot companions is really cool. It eats through your supplies to do so and you need the right perks to really see every possibility, but you can still get a kick out of customizing the DLC's new companion "Ada."

Ada ties directly into the DLC's story. She introduces you to the new robot crafting mechanics and can be customized to your liking. However it's her personality and effectiveness in combat that quickly made her one of my new favorite companions.

So you get robot building, a few quests, a new companion, and some other toys to play with. The question is whether the DLC is worth downloading. Admittedly people like myself who really don't do much crafting are likely going to find the DLC a little barren due to the short nature of the quests. However if you've got the season pass the combat and extra goodies are still worth a look. The $9.99 asking price might make it a little bit harder to justify for those without it. This is really one for the hardcore crafters. Those with all the perks can get a kick out what they can create.

In the end it's some more options and quests for Fallout 4. It doesn't offer the greatest amount of content, but what it does offer is solid and fun. For those looking for extra stuff to do in the Commonwealth this provides more Fallout 4 to enjoy. Those who need something more substantial to justify returning to the wastelands might want to look elsewhere. Personally, even if it's not all the much I can't complain too much about more Fallout 4.

Its almost a very good adventure that offers a good challenge and everything but finding out how difficult installing on the Xbox One hard figure out. The game does offer quest mission it does have a fair share of bugs but the rewards for completing the the mission you get a new armor and add-on worth earning while playing this DLC.

A very brief and generic story line that would be best played before completion of the main plot line of the game. The robot building component is cool but adds little excitement in terms of game play dynamics.

A good addition to the base game. This adds new enemy types, a fun new story, a great new follower and one of the best mechanics to the game, which is robot companion building. If you are into the crafting and settlement building I’m this game you need this dlc. Love automatron!

Despite being brief and a bit redundant on the argument side, Automatron adds quite a lot to the Fallout 4 universe and the price is just right.

Fallout 4's first DLC offering adds some interesting elements to the established formula, but it's over in a blink and still just as buggy.

The quick and somewhat forgettable mission material is buoyed by strong crafting elements and a more player-oriented approach to companions.
