UFC 4 is how Black Ops 3 was to its series, mostly mediocre, but after 2 years of waiting for a sequel I’d say they delivered. The grappling wasn’t overhauled at all, just a new, much more predictable system they added for more casual players. I recommend switching it to the legacy controls if you’re playing online. The customization has a lot of potential, but they clearly didn’t put too much work into it, which is good because I’m hoping they plan on adding things regularly. The game overall is fair for everyone, everyone has a chance to win even when you’re using a top fighter against a lower star one. My complaint is a bug that I’ve only seen in OWC, (which is ironic) you’ll match with someone & go into the selection screen, both people will ready up & load in, & when the commentary starts you’re stuck on a purple screen, only able to see the shadows, but your opponent seems to be fine so you sit there & listen to them working you. I’ve lost 2 titles now & a division because of it, & it’s going to be a problem if it isn’t fixed soon. It’ll give the same numbers as Ultimate Team did & EA will come up with a whole new online mode when it isn’t needed because they regularly ignore the obvious bugs that people complain about daily. But if you’re a big MMA fan like me, I’d say the game is worth it, it isn’t perfect, but it’s something other than UFC 3. Expand

This is one of the best mma games out to date. What I show is a big improvement over the past 3 games and this is one of the best MMA games out there.

Its way better than UFC 3 and you can't say otherwise. Clinch is fun, ground game is still kind of lame, but it is what it is and it works. Hopefully for the next one they change the ground game more.

In evolution for EA SPORTS UFC 3, this next videogame in the series probably does "half or one step forward" and adds a changes in grappling. UFC3 was the best MMA game ever made and UFC4 maybe it's just a little bit better. Career mode is exceptional and still is amazing to looks this photorealistic graphics working so perfectly with tons of combinations in combat. Looking forward to see the next-gen evolution for the franchise, and, asking for more, it'd be great to get more songs from the OST. Amazing game. Expand

This is the best UFC game so far in. The customisation is huge, I took like 10 hours easily jsut to create some fighters and play in the tournament mode. This game really made me go back in the old days when I was having fun with simple things. The carreer mode is very good too. I had a blast on it and did it twice. The multiplayer is just ok. There is a lot of tryhards in this game so I try to avoid multiplayer. I have almost 80 hours on the game and I pre-ordered it, and still to this day I love to go back on it and go for a little fist match.

    + A lot of customisation
    + Very good soundtracks
    + Good story mode

    - A lot of tryhards online

This year's iteration of UFC from EA Sports looks good, and feels good in parts - though the submission system just doesn't appear to be as much fun to play. The best parts of this game are the boxing and kickboxing elements, and the offline career mode is a fun mode to build and forge careers in. With really no other fighting titles to purchase this year, EA Sports UFC 4 will be unrivalled for those looking for another sports-like fighting game - and while UFC 4 is not a bad game, it doesn't do much to appeal to those who don't already have a love and appreciation for the sport or the brand.

EA Sports UFC 4 is a fun return to form for EA Sports. With a simplified approach to fighting and the inclusion of a more in-depth career mode, the UFC franchise is on the right track to building better things.
