-Every character is played differently and not the same like it was in past DBZ games
-The Psuedo-RPG elements is a nice take which gives us an interesting Fighting RPG Brawler game
    -Great graphics
-Probably the best Dragonball Z simulator so far
-Multiplayer only makes the game more enjoyable
-Lots of content and replay value

    Cons:
-The music is lackluster, and the elevator music gets on my nerves, especially since it's used for the character selection menu which is a bad choice
-Dumb Friendly AI which is most of the time is incompetent and unhelpful
-Things like Multiplayer or 1v1 can't be accessed from the main menu
-Bad voice acting, at least from the English version
    -Server issues
    -Repetitive missions
-3v3 battles are a pain in the ass when solo'ed, even with AI help (much more fun with multiplayer)
    -No difficulty setting
    -No training mode
    -Some important characters are missing
-Only one stage available for local multiplayer
-The hub world gets boring quickly and is slow to move through
    -Grinding
-At times can either be too hard or too easy
-No victory pose, your character just stands statically once you beat an opponent

Overall, XenoVerse is a great game and is the best Dragon Ball game to come out in a while as recent releases have been mediocre at best. There are a lot of flaws that can be fixed, but I doubt Dimps will address those issues in a patch and would rather save them for a potential sequel.

Finally a game better than Tenkaichi 3 or Budokai 3, i don't get why the "pro reviews" are giving 7 for the game. This is the best Dragon Ball game EVER. I thought i would never play a DB game better than Tenkaichi 3. Outstanding.

Awesome game, have it on X1 and PC, plays like a mini fighting mmo, with just enough to keep you busy and happy.
Combat system is great, so as is the costumization options, making builds and mix + matching skills/z-souls/equipement is awesome, it reminds me of the good old days of CoH/CoV build making time sinks, luv it, best game this year for me :)

This game is awesome. I thought this game is so boring. But after 30 hours i played. This game so addicted. Every elements on this game just remind me like Destiny game. Hunts for items, armors, leveling my own character, questing with friends, and many more. In my opinion, it is Fighting mixed with MMO-RPG game.

Been a DBZ fan for as long as I can remember and i`ve always wanted to creat my own character and fight alongside goku and the others against DBZ main villains.
This game does that, it may not be perfect but it's FUN. Fights are simple but yet thrilling and not boring.
Story wise it's short but it's a breath of fresh air, we can only play so muuch of the same storylines every DBZ game.

    Now the bad things:
    - Roster: not the best, to many goku costumes that only change stat distribution and ki blasts. More characters would've been great.
-No What if scenarios, always been my favorite part of DBZ games
-Toki Toki City, having to wait to log in is tedious and sometimes takes forever.

Being a Dragon Ball fan, I always wanted that special Dragon Ball game that made me feel like I am a part of its beautiful universe. Thankfully Dragon Ball XenoVerse succeeds in doing so.

The game starts off with creating your character and you can choose between 5 different races, the Majin, Saiyans, Earthlings, Namekian and the Freeza clan, each with their own strengths and weakness.

I chose the Saiyans who are low in health but have high attack powers. Working carefully on your created characters appearance is important because it does affect your performance in battle. For example, if you increase the height, then your attack power will increase but your speed movement will be slower. I found this attention to detail in Dragon Ball Xenoverse interesting as it makes you want to create other characters as well.

Once done, you will have to choose the fighting style that you find most suitable.

The story will begin after you complete your character. You are chosen by Shenron to join the time patrol, a group of warriors led by Trunks to defend history. Trunks will introduce you to TokiToki city which is where you will spend most of your time in. Your mission is to find out who has been distorting the history of the Dragon Ball universe and changing its events. So you will go back in time through different parts of the Dragon Ball events and return history to its original course.

I found the overall story to be pretty cool as it is a change from previous Dragon Ball games which is good to see. Watching Raditz dodge Piccolos deadly beam instead of the original scene where Goku sacrifices himself was fun to watch.

Mastering Dragon Ball Xenoverse’s fighting mechanics will take some time but the tutorials does a good job in giving you all the necessary information you will need during battle. The more fights I participated in the better I got. The fighting mechanics are very good and executing special combos and powers is fun. The controls are straight forward with the normal attacks, heavy attacks, flying and locking on to your opponent.

The battles themselves are deep and you will need to use different strategies depending on which character you choose.

The most important things to keep an eye out for are the two bars on the left of the screen; the top bar is your Ki bar which is used for Ultimate attacks and the bottom bar is the bar that governs how many teleports you can do and shows you how long you can block an ultimate attack.

Exploring TokiToki is fun; however, the city is small and I felt that more details could have been added to make the city livelier. Knowing what accessories, clothing or items to buy is key. For example if you leave your character shirtless, you will take more damage and if you buy the correct clothing you will incur less damage.

I Enjoyed the RPG elements and the progression system. You can talk to all the characters in TokiToki and even have the chance to recruit some to join your team. There will also be many decisions to take such as Raditz asking you to join him to attack Goku and choosing your mentor who will teach you valuable skills.

The progression system is done well and makes time invested into your character worth it. The more fights you participate it whether it is during the story line or side quests, offline or online the more experience points you gain to level up and spend on the characters attributes like health, defense and attacks. Parallel quests are like side quests that you can take part into level up. Playing if offline or online is a blast especially the 3 VS 3. Having a buddy with you and playing online is very fun.

Using the scouter during parallel quests will help you in finding hidden items and also to see the strength of your opponent.

The graphics are very good; characters are just like the Anime and small details such as the blast feels brighter than before. Exploring the world and flying around never felt better; however, I expected more environmental destruction during fights.

The story took me around 13 hours to complete and there is tons of replay value in the online multiplayer and upgrading your character. Dragon Ball XenoVerse is a smart challenging game and in my opinion one of the best Dragon Ball games to date. It has the perfect combination of RPG and fighting. With over the top characters and exciting battles, Dragon Ball Xenoverse is a game that will entertain you

My only complaint with the title is the fact that there are still minor glitches with the game. It's nothing game-breaking and I'm sure they will patch it, but the game has a hard time keeping pace with 60fps during larger, explosive fights.

All in all, it's a great game and definitely worth the purchase.

Instead of the usually characters like Goku, Vegeta, etc. It has RPG elements like leveling up to increase stats, upgrading/buying items for your character, or buying consumables to use in battle. This is where the replay value comes in. You'll be constantly upgrading and leveling up your characters to perform better in story missions or online battles. Online is great. There's about over 100 players in the hub world. 3v3 fights are fun to play as well as co op missions to grind for rare items.

There is some flaws to the game as well. So far I made it to the ginyu saga and its kinda easy to get through. I hope it gets harder from there on. The controls will take some time to get used to but it will be all right once you understand. Should of had a better tutorial for the controls. A few frame rate drops, nothing serious so far. The camera and lock on system can sometimes get awkward during fights. Especially when you're fighting in freiza spaceship, the horror. It's not that bad, I wished they made the hub city smaller. Feels like a running simulator at times.

Overall, its a fun a great game to get. I enjoyed watching the anime (Dragon ball, DBZ, GT) and played the DBZ games (Budakai, UT, Legacy of goku ) in the past when I was a child( I'm 19). Now, I decided to go back into dbz by getting this game and I was not disappointed. Please get the game or wait 3 months for a summer sale xD.

No, seriously get it now its been great so far. I give it a score of 9001/10.

The game isn't terrible, but it does feel unpolished - as if it were rushed for a deadline. The primary city, "Toki Toki City" seems quite bare and empty in offline mode. Sure, there are some NPCs that will say a few words in text, but not much else aside from game-mode NPCs.

There is free-roaming in Toki Toki city, but it still feels quite restricted. One cannot run, dash, or fly, and the city itself (divided into three parts) is actually quite small.

The voice-overs are decent for all of the recognizable DBZ universe characters. However, the created character is a mute. There are options for voices in create-a-character, but it seems to only apply to brief combat sounds.

The combat is decent, albeit repetitive, but what else would you really expect from a Dragonball fighting game? I do enjoy the freedom provided during combat. It's somewhat free-roaming and definitely has more of a Dragonball universe feel to it.

I do really like the RPG elements that were implemented into the game. It is fun to begin with a rather weak character and after fighting and gaining levels, turn into a very powerful combatant. You are provided with three points each time you level up to distribute into six different attribute categories - each category is unique and has a different impact on your playing style.

There are many different skills/techniques, equipment, and items that can be obtained throughout the game to customize your character's appearance and abilities.

Overall, it is definitely a step in the right direction for games set in the Dragnball universe, but it's not quite there yet.

I would give it a 7.5, but I'm rounding down to a 7 for some of the minor bugs in the game.

The story to Xenoverse is interesting with the ability of time travel thrown in it let's them make any fight possible and it makes for some creative alternate universes to battle in. Some story missions will see easy or just right when it comes to difficulty but then around the half way point the game's difficulty spikes extremely hard and forces you to grind levels in side quests until you are hopefully strong enough to stand a chance. This can become extremely frustrating and make the game feel tedious, Side quests do vary in difficulty and opponent so it's not to boring but with the story being the only way to unlock all the characters you are forced to complete it.

This is the best DBZ game yet. Sure there are some flaws here and there, but nothing more than minor annoyances. If they play their cards right they could have a killer sequel by fixing a few mechanics (servers mostly) and streamlining little things like being able to fly in the city.

But the reason why I give it a 7 is very specific: The master bar fills up very slowly, there is no Super Saiyan Vegeta 4 and I was infuriated by the fact that it was only achieved by preordering the game, there are no more transformations, the artificial intelligence of the allies is stupid, the difficulty is strange and what is hated the most in this game is the luck factor. Did it seriously occur to you to say that the dragon balls, a team or a soul would only come out by luck? Those are bulls#@$ Every player knows that the luck factor is the most hated thing in the game if it's not a party game and it occurs to them to implement it here.

Decent game. For most players, being able to customize your own character is great but if you are like me, I could care less about that. To me, the whole point of a DBZ game is to play with your favorite/s DBZ fighters. Future Trunks can be annoying at times which sucks because in the anime, Future Trunks is great. Nice concept though and worth a playthrough.
