    So many negatives not sure where to start. The shared health potions are ridiculous as I now have to go back to camp after most fights and on some I have to go back mid fight like the spiders in the oasis I went back 6 times. I have to stop every 3 seconds to loot some rock or plant or I cant upgrade my potions or gear. I played for 7 hours and yet the best weapon I have I made in theSo many negatives not sure where to start.     You will find you are mid fight when all of the sudden wolves just happen to wonder in and of course only attack your people. Kill the wolves and suddenly 3 more walk in. When you are fighting the mobs have a warp skill which makes it impossible to get to them as they warp up cliff walls which you cannot scale. Want to fight one mob at a time or scout a cave don't expect your people to hold position because they autowarp on top of you if you go too far, if was real world I would say 100ft.

    For some reason everywhere you walk there is a mountain on each side of you and always blocking the way you want to go. There will be mountains you can sorta climb but you have to use a cheap way to do it, you climb up as high as you can go and your followers will warp on top of you so you switch to one of them and your main will warp up. If ever I wanted a noclip in place this game would be it.

    The best part of the game you can skip the terrible story writing. I have deleted the game from my system and will sell it back to the store before they drop the trade in value.    … Expand

    I have 200+ hours in this game. I am a HUGE dragonage fan, and i must say that i am dissapointed. After the disaster of da2 and all the feed back from the fans i hoped for something much better. Although beutiful graphics, and the large areas to explore, still very repeditive, its 8 or 9 areas , and you do the same thing in each , after 3 different areas it becomes manotonious, and theI have 200+ hours in this game.     To be honest I only played the first half hour of this game as I had no desire to play any longer. What can I say... The graphics are awful, controls and combat terrible, voice acting laughable and story just plain stupid. I'm glad I downloaded through EA Access rather than buying the game as it was a complete waste of my time. Get Witcher 3 instead.

    Reviews came out calling Inquisition the best Dragon Age yet, and it peaked my interest. I bought it on sale for $35. I will start out by saying the game is gorgeous. It has vibrant greens, and lots of it too. It really is appealing to the eyes. The soundtrack is also really good, better than Origins in my opinion. It also doesn't feel like an Action game that calls itself an RPG, where there's just RPG elements, but instead actually felt like an RPG with crafting, and customization. I picked the second hardest difficulty because I wanted the achievement, and I didn't want to suffer through Nightmare. This is the part where I destroy the game (I will be making comparisons to both Dragon Age games). Combat, to be completely honest, is a joke. DA:O was a slow, but challening with its combat where you feel like you were actually an outnumbered force of regular guys against a whole army even on normal difficulty. DA2 was fast, but was unchallenging even in the slightest. DAI is the worst of both combat systems: its slow and unchallenging. Its painfully slow. I like slow combat at times, but this is just ridiculous. I felt like I was playing an extremely grindy Korean MMO instead of an ARPG where the enemy health is just unbelievably high that it can take forever just kill a single enemy. The challenge is completely gone. I only had difficulty with one part in the entire 100 hour grindfest, and that was because it was just completely unfair where you were pitted against waves of enemies, and you're only allowed to carry 8 health potions at a time (and mages can't heal anymore), so you were kinda **** In Origins, you felt like every fight might've been your last because you never knew what could've happened. A dumb teammate could've stepped in a trap, and killed themselves instantly, a mage could've casted a fireball, and killed the whole party instantly, you never knew. But you always needed to be ready to adapt to have the tactical edge. Here you just charge in, and kill everybody REALLY SLOWLY. Its incredibly bland. The story isn't great either. At the beginning of the game, you're already made out to be the savior of mankind (which just throws out dramatic structure completely), the villain just comes out, and practically says "I'm the villain" and leaves to never be seen for another half of the game (which just throws out dramatic structure completely). There's also cameos from characters from previous games, and majority of the time, it feels really **** lazy. Allistair shows up after the end of a quest to say "So you're the Inquisitor, huh?" then leaves. Hawke shows up to help you on a quest, then leaves. Morrigan shows up in the last 40th of the game, then leaves. It legitimately felt like they were only there to remind you of how cool past games were, where they would flail their arms around and ask if you remember them. The open world is probably my biggest problem with this game. The areas are massive, and like I said before, pretty. But they feel empty. They literally feel like they're crafted just to hold X number of rifts, X number of gems, and a dragon. It would've been nice just to have NPCs around the map that you can actually interact with, but a majority of the time its just bad guys, rifts, gems, and a dragon. Dragon fights are cool though, for the first time anyway. Then they quickly become copy/paste of that first time in different environments with different elements, and they, like a majority of the game, become jokes. Side-quests...oh, side-quests. Question: Do you like fetch quests? How about fetch quests that are literally there with almost no context, or interaction? Sound like fun? No? Then you won't like side-quests in this game. The cast of characters in your Inquisition aren't even as good as Origins or 2's cast of characters. Yet people praise this game as the best Dragon Age yet. I don't see it. Not even a little bit. And the sad thing is that while there are some people who share my opinion, a large majority of players praise this game for all of my personal gripes with it which means I may never see a Dragon Age similar to Origins.… Expand

    BioWare does not however, possess the ability to make a open-world game truly interesting, when the majority of the mission within its vast maps are -"I need 10 of these, go get them". Which boils down to a true case of not being able to, or have the time, to utilize its own sandbox, and the result is a collectibles galore of virtually no importance to the story or the game as a whole. The reward for completing these mundane tasks do not come close to the amount of time you invest in them.

    DA: is however, a beautiful game, with great visuals and at times, stunning environments.

    Now that I know better, I would have waited and picked up the game during a sale, not at 50$, and so should you, but be prepared to be disappointed if you thought that this was going to be similar to the earlier style of BioWare games.    … Expand

    I really wanted to like this game, I did... After a few hours playing the game, and after hitting multiple game breaking bugs and finding the combat repetitive and non visceral. After about 6 hours into this game I ended up taking it back to EB and getting a refund. Come to think of it, I think it's the first game that I've ever taken back...     I loved the first two games, but I have to say I just found this one dull. Some will be mad I even wrote a review and rated it, as I only got about 8 hours in, but I tried again and again to get into it and it was just too dull. The main plot is uninteresting. The positive is that I played my friend's copy for a bit first, so was spared having to pay for this waste of time.     In a word ... disappointing. Having finished the game I have to say I expected more, a lot more.

    I liked my character, a big hulking male Qunari with a two handed axe. But the stock characters where pretty dull. Sera was one of the most interesting, just due to the mad things she would say for no reason. But the rest, talking to them was more like pulling teeth than progressing the    In a word ... disappointing. Having finished the game I have to say I expected more, a lot more.

But the rest, talking to them was more like pulling teeth than progressing the story along (which is weak to say the least). The war room, was next to pointless. You didn't actually formulate any sort of strategy, just certain missions became unlocked as you progressed as well as overall skill boosts. The Inquistors throne, for making those life and death decisions, was a good feature but totally under utilised.

    Some of the main missions were more of a bind than enjoyable, with one having a sort of time limited investigation sequence that was just out of character with the rest of the game. Most are pretty much the same, standard RPG type quests. Get this, find that, kill that, lots of side missions that ultimately seem to end up making no overall difference. Just there to fill in some time between the main story.

    Combat was alright, but just senseless MMO type button mash. Perhaps some people will delve into the tactical side of things in more depth. But I just pressed buttons in a type of sequence and waited for skills to cool down. Combat is a bit hit .... and a lot of... miss. If an enemy is under the effect of something else, damage seems to be almost queued. Meaning the fight can end and the bad guy it still waiting to die after been swamped with damage. Other times your actions seem to have no effect, apart from hitting thin air. Some fights with dragons were annoying more than invigorating. Battle a dragon for a considerable time, only for it to be on it's last legs and call reinforcements. AI was capable but limited, squad had an aversion to healing and being healed. Didn't help team mates. Things like a healing mist which could heal your whole party, you would find one of your party decides to move out of the area of effect. For no reason, just wanders off at the crucial moment. AI Healer in the party was next to useless. Which sort of screwed up the party dynamic.

    Didn't play on-line, not something that interests me in this type of game unless the game is a fully fledged MMO.

    The ending was an anti-climax. Which let down the game as a whole. It needed a twist, something epic to happen at the end and it didn't. There was an event within my timeline at the end, but I just wasn't bothered at this point.

    I have heard a lot of mention of this game and Skyrim in the same breath. The only similarity I found was they were the same type of genre. That was where the similarities end. Skyrim is an immersive game that pulls you in different directions, absorbs you into a game world. This game is a lot of bits of game world bolted together, to show how the developers can do different types of terrain. With no real world connection going on. Almost episodic in nature.

    As a person that likes the story and exploration, more than combat and skills trees etc. I just found it weak on both fronts. The odd time it was engaging, but quickly brought you back to earth with slow load screens and a multitude of bugs. There were no game breaking bugs that I came across but the overall quality was poor, as if it had either not been tested or they just ignored the bugs. Seems to be a pattern with games released by EA, quality has just gone out of the window.

    I didn't feel any love in this game at all. It comes across as a chore. The character actors did their part mostly to a good standard. The story was quite lame and generic in the sense of good guy/bad guy scenario. Didn't feel any decision mattered to the overall scheme of things. And what you have is a patchwork of game worlds stitched together to make it seem like a big game to rival the likes of Skyrim. When in fact all it does is make you yearn for another game like Skyrim to come along.

    I would play this game because it's not the worse. But I don't seen any replay value and unless you want to do every side quest, the game is quite short. The side quests are not varied enough to make things interesting. In essence it actually feels cluttered, with a lot of stuff added because they felt it should be added as a standard but made little sense. Like crafting, spend time making something like a weapon with attachments only to find store bought had better stats. None of which seemed to have much impact.

    Overall a disappointing game to end a disappointing year in gaming.    … Expand

    Also, you can use only 8 of the abilities you unlocks.
    The combat sections aren't challenging, just long and boring.
    There isn't much strategy: half the enemies in the game warp behind or push through every formation you set.
    Obviously, the A button is used both for jumping and to activate things. Because it takes real developers to avoid such a basic mistake and bioware doesn't have them. This is more annoying than it seems, don't laugh!
    The story is mediocre too, but you are going to notice that only if you limit yourself to the main quest, otherwise, you forget it along the way: there is so much useless stuff outside of it (collectibles, fetch quests and hunt quests that repeat themselves) that you lose the thread.
    There are many bugs, but IIRC the ones that deny you questlines have been fixed.
    The only good thing is graphic, but the game isn't (and couldn't) be pretty enough to be interesting.

    After putting 85 hours into the game, I find out that I can't complete the two biggest side questlines because of bugs that make the system crash to the home screen every time you begin the cutscenes. After researching these questlines, I find out that I am missing out on most of the background information required to fully comprehend the main storyline. Their tech support refused to acknowledge that I was even on xbox one, and kept telling me to right click my game file and select repair, even after telling them I was not on PC.

    If it was actually possible to finish the game on this console, it would be flawless. However, seeing as though you can only finish the game with a mild comprehension of the storyline, I have to give this game a bad review. The developers refuse to even acknowledge this game-breaking bug.

    To those still wishing to purchase the game - side with the mages if you want to finish it. Siding with the templars is what causes these bugs and effectively renders half of the x1 community unable to finish the game with full comprehension of the story events.    … Expand

    I was so hyped when the trailers were released. I tried really hard to like this game.. In fact I played it through twice. Aside the main story it was really boring. The sidequests were not rewarding or interesting at all. Especially now that The Witcher 3 is out I had high expectations. I love Dragon Age Origins and the Mass effect trilogy so this was kind of a disapointment. And alsoI was so hyped when the trailers were released. I tried really hard to like this game..     OH My God. This game is... awful. The graphics in Xbox one is bad. And this is the GAME OF THE YEAR? The story is dissapointed and awful, too. The story is boring and poor.

Frustrating tidbits of mechanics. Item drop system that is poorly designed, especially when you can barely see what or when the 'loot' drops. Using the loot search option not visually apparent.     It took them years to develop this game, and it still felt rushed. They spent all their time in Story development, and not enough on game mechanics. One playthrough is all I can take, which is different from DA1 and Awakenings.    … Expand

    Loved the single player game + 9 Points however micro transactions - 8 points = 1 point. Any game with reliance on micro transactions loses heavy points. I'm fed up with this rubbish.

The game was released half baked, there is no two ways about that fact. Another thing, why in the hell is sex SUCH a huge part of this game? I'm not talking about the sex scenes (which in fact were so glitched I didn't even get to see them) but the conversations with the NPCs...it's all about sex. What the F, have the devs never gotten laid or grow up for that matter? And the execs for okaying it are just as bad...a glitched, half baked graphical porn...congrats, guys. Anyway, back to the horrific game...the fight scenes are so mired in flashing lights and effects get ready to lose sight of your player throughout the game.

    In short...was it lengthy, yes...I played over 140+ hours...out of those hours I would say a good 30-40% were just powering through the glitches. The main line story is okay (this is my first DA game) but for the person that never touched a DA, I was left confused....so much so, like many players have stated, I just powered through and stopped ready the story, any story line that didn't involve the main one (i.e. close the rift and kill the bad guy).

    I suggest you either wait another couple months or don't play it religiously until they patch this crap fest (if they patch it AT ALL!)...and forget about the Multiplayer portion. It literally is based on Freemium...you cannot get gear or lvl fast enough without dropping your money (AGAIN) to purchase weapons and gear that will allow you to proceed further.

    So if you like frustration, preaching sexual identity crap and glitches, this game is for you! If not, stay very clear of this game. Because in short, this game is not innovated but just Assassins Creed with a different skin on it.    … Expand

    Worse than da 2. Completely chaotic game, hack and slash, conquer. And again. Dialogues are poor , you can easly skip them. Storyline is boring and I dont even have the feeling to save the world, I just do not care...

    Graphics are incredibly outdated. Story line lacks appeal. Feels like a step back for Bioware. It lacks the smoothness of other Dragon Age adventures and I was not drawn into the game like before.

    • Pacing is horrible it gets better after about 20 hours sort of like Final Fantasy 13 but that's not really a strong suit

    • Multiplayer is like Dead Space 2 multiplayer in that it's boring and forgettable.

    • Quests are MMO type quests once again not a strong suit especially for a single player game

    • Bugs, bugs and oh yeah bugs. You'll need to keep a few saves. This is a beta, not a release. Don't listen to what they say - the quality of this game is late alpha or early beta quality at best.

    Conclusion: I wouldn't pay full price for this It will come down in price shortly so wait......    … Expand

    Nothing like DAo or DA2 and that's not a good thing. This is not an RPG, its a hack em up game. All that made Dragon Age fun is gone. Now I have to wait for Mass Effects and hope however the designers that ruined Dragon Age Inquisition don't get there hands on it! Very sad to see something that was so much fun ruined because people don't take a hint...If it is not broken, DON"T FIX IT!

    Controls are broken. game is a bad port. If you expect a Dragon Age, do not buy this game. If you expect a Skyrim, do not buy this game. If you expect a typical BioWare game, do not buy this game. If you expect a good RPG, do not buy this game.

I cannot fathom why someone would want to copy something to such an extent, but they did, and they should be ashamed. Now don't get me wrong, the Witcher is an excellent game, and when something is done well, there's nothing wrong with incorporating features of that success in your own game, but that doesn't mean you should make the exact game with different characters. Don't we see enough of that television? Taco Bell is successful, but I don't see Burger King abandoning their menu and copying Taco Bell's exactly. Because that would be stupid and pointless.     Furthermore, the writing and storyline are more bland and flavorless than uncooked white rice. I understand that it takes time and money to make deep and involving dialogue, but my god, this is their job. The characters are as flat as Queen Amidala in the Phantom Menace I am not exaggerating. There is not of the thought or planning in combat that made Dragon age Origins and II good. The AI does everything. Reviving characters is as simple as walking over and hitting A. The mechanics of the game are awkward and random. The map is bizarre and unclear. The characters have maintained none of their past vigor or humor. They are so bland, I hesitate to call them characters at all. They're more like potatoes that walk. Walking Potato Inquisition.

    I must say that I am extremely disappointed in this game. If you are a fan of previous dragon age or Bioware games prepare for an entirely different game. This feels more like a bad version of Skyrim or the Witcher and resembles nothing from Origins or Dragon Age 2.     This game fails to draw you in the story. It is filled with meaningless quests of collecting and capturing things. Nothing has purpose, nor does the dialogue. It is very simple and bland, and your companions don't even seem interesting.

    The fighting is bad. It is very hack and slash with very little tactics compared to Origins and DA2. Some of the graphics look nice, but the characters look worse in my opinion. It just looks awful.

    Many things have been copied from the Witcher. The texture of the scenery and people, even the fonts are the same. Also the currency which is usually sovereign, silver, and copper in the previous two games is gone. Now its just "gold".

    This game appears that it doesn't even any of the original designers of the original dragon age. It is a regurgitation of all the successful third person RPGS but utterly fails in originality. Basically they tried to make a copy of Skyrim and Witcher and called in Dragon Age. EA has forever ruined Bioware. I am not even difficult to please, as I still really enjoyed Dragon Age despite its issues.

    I have never felt so cheated. Shame on you Bioware. This game is a simple Skyrim plagiarism. What happened to the witty sense of humour, interesting characters, engaging story and simple navigation? I never felt so bored and disappointed. Before I felt like I was a main character in a movie-game. The Inquisition is simply mediocre. Bioware you just have lost a loyal fan and customer and II have never felt so cheated. Shame on you Bioware. This game is a simple Skyrim plagiarism. What happened to the witty sense of humour, interesting characters, engaging story and simple navigation? I never felt so bored and disappointed. Before I felt like I was a main character in a movie-game. The Inquisition is simply mediocre.     I bought it, played it for an hour, sold it back. The combat system is awful, like overly complicated and not fun. and the cut scenes are unrealistic. Characters look like mannequins talking. Controlling a party of random characters instead of just the character you created feels... impersonal.
    Don't buy this if you think it will be like a next gen Skyrim. It isn't.

    I dont know what game the people/liers creating reveiws are playing but it isnt Dragon Age: Inquisition. I set out looking for an RPG that could match Skyrim and alls I ended up purchasing was disappointment. One reviewer said its like Skyrim, let me be clear, it absolutely isn't. I hate this game.     Corrupted save files on all character all those combined over 120 hours game play all gone worse game ever just because they cant keep your game saved! What is the point of a game if you cant even get to the end!!

    Being a rogue assassin is one of the main abilities that a rouge could be. However, the way of assassin quest that is required to be done to get that specialization is bugged. After investing 75 hours into the game and trying every trick that people wrote about I was still unsuccessful, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THE GAME. Unless of course you do not want your special ability tree thatBeing a rogue assassin is one of the main abilities that a rouge could be. However, the way of assassin quest that is required to be done to get that specialization is bugged. After investing 75 hours into the game and trying every trick that people wrote about I was still unsuccessful, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THE GAME. Unless of course you do not want your special ability tree that gives you all of the good skills in the game. This issue has been addressed a long time ago, but yet EA fails to fix it.     Dragon Age: Inquisition represents a glorious return to form for the series, with its huge world to explore, great cast of characters, and immensely satisfying combat and character progression. Despite its flaws, this is easily a contender for RPG of the year, and a must-have for most any gamer.
