One of the best shooters of the decade. It has this old-school feel. It's very fast-paced and without an unnecessary gameplay system - it's a pure run-and-shoot game. Lots of secrets and great tech behind graphics.

Great gameplay loop, great enemy variety and great level design. The bosses that were there were great but could have used more. Also some of the levels did feel quite similar to one another in terms of the environment. No story but it didn't really need one. Best part of the game was the boss fight with the mechanised demon- the second phase takes place in hell was a very great moment.

You run. You kill. You platform. You run. You kill. You Platform.

My biggest gripes with the games are around the exploration system. Shooting and defeating enemies is always a blast, but exploring halts the game to a screeching halt almost every time. Finding stuff doesn't ever feel rewarding, the platforming is the easiest platforming out there, and every location in the game just feels like the same location but a switched-up maze.

It can easily be compared to the Metroid Prime games, where you explore and find stuff to advance, except with more "pew-pew" and "bam-bam". However, Matroid did it better. There were actual biomes; there was a feeling of loneliness and dread, mystery, and wonder. There were moments of build-up and challenge; there were puzzles and challenges that made the game more than just shooting.

    This game just shoots.

That's not necessarily a flaw for the game. That's what it went for, but more variety would've definitely benefited the game, along with biomes or environments that could've added more of a dynamic for this game.

Overall, it's mid. Overrated and fun at points, but even pew-pewing got tiring.

The app shows me that 17.47 % of players have completed the game. You are giving positive reviews even though you have not played through the game. Why do you do that?

I will now write what I think of this game because I have completed it.

I first played through Doom 2016 and immediately after that I played through Doom Eternal. These are two completely different games, Doom 2016 is a superb first-person shooter, but Doom Eternal is something else. If you want to know what Doom Eternal is, please feel free to read my review.

I loved Doom 2016. The darkness, the blood in the facility from the humans trying to escape, control rooms where the humans desperately tried to fight the demons as they make their final stand. It really tells a story, tells the story of this hellish place on Mars.

When it comes to sound design, DOOM 2016 seems more realistic and modern, Doom Eternal feels more like a retro 90s game when it comes to the explosion and laser sounds.

Very well-designed levels and I never had to look from YouTube for how to play it. I felt that control was in my hands all the time and I knew what to do next.

This game hooked me to play it, I couldn't get my hands off the controller. I wanted to know what was going to happen, I wanted to kill the next monster in my way. If you have never played Doom game, you definitely have to play this game. You will not miss anything, and you will understand what this game series is all about.

It is non-stop, gory, over-the-top action that I can pick up and play any day at any time and have a blast. These are the types of games I love the most; arcadey, fast-paced, relatively short, and very replayable. That's not to say that I don't enjoy other kinds of games or genres, but it is these experiences that I love to revisit over and over again. I've been playing for 4 years now and it hasn't gotten even the slightest bit old.

The game has a story, sure, but neither the game nor the DOOM Guy give a f*ck about it, so it is very clear that you shouldn't either, that's not the focus. For those curious, the game does offer quite a bit of lore and details about what's going on, so if ya wanna take the time to understand it all, it is all right there to be consumed. I myself don't really care, so for all intent and purposes all that matters in this game, is that a portal leading to Hell has been opened in Mars and your job is to absolutely annihilate anything that comes out of it in the most brutal way possible, and eventually take the fight to Hell itself.

Doing that job is very easy, as the game gives you all the tools you need to rip and tear through all of its levels, filled to the brim with Easter eggs and secrets to find. As you go along you'll get more and more weapons to use. It all starts very standardly, a little gun with infinite ammo, and a shotgun. Eventually, however, you'll start getting weapons more and more insane; a Plasma Rifle, an Assault Rifle, a Rocket Launcher, a Chaingun, a Chainsaw that runs on fuel but can cut through almost everything, and of course, the mother of all weapons, the Big F*cking Gun-9000, which destroys basically anything, just to name a few.

As if that wasn't enough you can also upgrade these weapons, giving them new features, by exploring the gigantic maps and finding little upgrade robots. For example, you can upgrade the shotgun to fire an explosive shot, transform the Chaingun into a Mobile Turret, stuff like that. Pretty much all of these upgrades kickass and are a blast to use.

Should you be running out of ammo, you can perform brutal melee attacks against enemies with low health to do very violent glory kills, which give you life and ammo. Very rarely do I run out of ammo in this game, and even when I do I can take advantage of certain power-ups you can encounter every now and again, that either boost your speed, defense or put you in a berserker state to savagely tear any demon in your path in just one hit.

Speaking of the demons, the enemy variety is high. You have your standard fodder, your mobile demons that shoot fireballs, demons with jetpacks that shoot rockets, big dudes with lots of hp that shoot lasers, demons that teleport, Boss demons that are very satisfying to take down, and so many more, I love the enemies in this game, they each serve a specific purpose and multitasking never feels too hectic, especially because DOOM Guy handles like a dream, he's fast, responsive, agile, and throughout the course of the game, you'll get upgrades to his armor and movement, which also come in handy when the game slows down a bit more and asks ya to do some platforming, in order to break up the pace, keeping the combat fresh. It also in these slower sections, that you'll probably realize that this game looks gorgeous, the art style is so hellish, with very striking colors, I love it!

There are tons of things to keep track of, if you stay still you'll get your butt kicked, you gotta keep moving, constantly thinking of ways to deal with the threats up ahead, and on higher difficulty settings you'll truly feel like a one-man army doing the impossible, as some of the most intense heavy metal tracks play as you're destroying your enemies.

Like I said tho, the game does enough for me to break up the combat segments so that it doesn't get repetitive. It'll ask you to explore, find keys or secrets, platform about, put your skills to the test in some self-contained challenges you'll find in the levels, etc. There are tons more to do than just combat, the game knows how to break it up without it feeling like you're wasting your time.

This is a game that is meant to be played over and over, it's addicting, it's intense, it's satisfying and most importantly, so much fun!

The main story mode is enough for me to get my money's worth, but there's also a multiplayer mode, arcade mode, Snapmap, things like that. I haven't dabbled in those other features I have to admit, I just have way too much fun with the main adventure to even really care, but they're there should you want to try them out.

Honestly, what else can I say? I love this game, it's a masterpiece in my eyes, a shooter that is worth every little bit of money spent on it, and one of my favorite games of all time. I haven't played DOOM Eternal at the time I'm writing this, but I'm sure it'll be really good too.

The level environments are superb, particularly the Hell levels. id Software have been able to create a truly unique, grim and morbidly beautiful world to serve as a backdrop for slaughtering demons of hell spawn. The level design does away with the more linear, railroading levels in favour of open ended maps with key hunting which is more akin to the previous instalments of the DOOM franchise.

Further more, while double jumping is a new addition to DOOM, it still features the smooth, fast-paced, punchy, visceral combat of it's predecessors. The "glory kills" and chainsaw murders never cease to be gruesome and rewarding.

The musical score is downright awesome; Mick Gordon is a musical mastermind and it really adds to the intensity and the adrenaline rush of demon slaying.

The game starts off a bit challenging, even on normal difficulty, as it's easy to get overwhelmed by monsters during combat, but towards the end I thought the game was getting kind of easy, once I had levelled up Doom guy and his weapons. Game play tip: as soon as you get the "Chain Gun", unlock the "Mobile Turret" attachment. I can reliably cut down enemies like I'm mowing the lawn with this upgrade.

There is a plot to this game, but I didn't really pay much attention to it. Frankly, DOOM is much better served when it's outright demon slaying as oppose to reading flavour text and watching cutscenes.

Overall, DOOM is a game that's pretty easy to pick up and play. Pop it in for a few hours of stress relief and enjoy the intense, fluid combat mechanics. It's largely faithful to it's predecessors and it's a game that I can fully recommend.

This is an example of a game that exceeds expectations. The game looks and sounds absolutely beautiful. The glory kills are also a treat. Also, this is an example of a situation where violence is the answer to all your problems.

DOOM has a lot going for it. The story is surprisingly well written, with Doomguy's animations adding just enough character to him, and making for excellent visual gags. Most upgrades and levels have small combat tasks that are typically brief enough to avoid excessive grinding.

On top of this there are bonus levels and challenges carefully hidden in the maps, perfectly balanced with the multiple difficulty modes. There's so much to do in DOOM, to the point where I haven't even tried the map creator or multiplayer mode yet, and I still feel like I got more than my money's worth.

The only complaint I really have is that the loading screens are a *little* long. Otherwise, this game is great.

The fast paced action based combat of doom is brilliant to say the least. From ripping off a demons leg to crushing it's skull, it is perfection. With an epic soundtrack to back it up and visually stunning graphics. The only thing it lacks is an in depth story.

Next, the soundtrack of Michael Gordon is so good ! It nails perfectly the atmosphere of the game;*
Graphicaly, it is gorgeous. The lighting is good, there is no bugs, the gameplay is smooth as hell.
The multiplayer is not the best I have ever played, but is fun.
Some will say that the story is bad. But imagine if the story was any good : it would brake the immersion and would feel strange with the global tone of the game.
As I said earlier, the gameplay is extremely smooth and the game is teaching you very fast how to play.
In Doom 2016, there is no reload, no sprint, no way to aim ... and it make the game so special and unique.

Alright guys/some gals, I've been compelled to create an account for this one. I'm a Doom franchise fan, and this is by far the worst Doom game I've played. I'm writing this with the intention of saving my fellow world citizens a good $20 that you could use on far better things; certainly better than the $20 I spent on this game for Xbox One.

Let me just get my largest complaint out of the way first- the sound. The high-pitched, haphazard gun sounds, music, and that stupid damn high-note within the game menu just about drove me to the edge. I persevered through a few hours regardless thinking that there was a light at the end of the Doom tunnel, but no. Only some of the most half-hearted attempts at game atmosphere generation through sound/music awaited me. It was unbearable... not for lack of quality compared to the bulk of 2018's music as a whole, (not a **** high bar), but for a lack of effort in creating the eerie hellscape that the best Doom games have offered, (Doom 64 being my personal favorite).

Anyway, exposition aside- this game isn't fun. You are limited to melee being your best weapon against enemies in a transparent "cool, look at how bloody things are" direction the developer sets you on as opposed to any spontaneous tactical ingenuity that the best shooters make you perform. This game is a marketing pitch.

So many reviews proclaim this to be one of the best shooters ever. This is another reason I'm writing to you all right now. I value my video games as an escape, a source of relaxation, and entertainment. This game isn't even fun while you're drunk; this is a hypothesis I've tested today after reading some of the glowing reviews yesterday. I thought, "maybe everyone else is loaded playing this thing, and just killing things is way more entertaining then." Nope. It's still stupid.

One room after the next, killing about 20 demons that inconveniently spawn on top of you while you're killing another, and with the other demons taking a smoke-break while you "glory-kill" a demon, (a horribly stupid way that the game refers to you instantly punching an enemy to death once you've shot it once or twice). Seriously. While I was punching an imp to death, about 6 other demons just stood there watching and not trying to kill me.

There are plenty of "secrets" in the game that aren't so secret. It's really cool that the developers spent the time and effort putting them in there. What's not so cool is that there's a map feature in the game that shows you EVERYTHING. If you're like me, a gamer who likes to do their best at a game without crossing the line of way too much effort, then you'll be endlessly frustrated by this like I was. You have to stop and open your damn map to see where secrets are. The secrets benefit you by improving your character. You would be remiss not to find the easily shown secrets. This unfortunately means you have to hit the "select" button to open your damn map every 2 minutes to make sure you're not missing anything in the weird, apparently "made for multiplayer," map design of the campaign. It really takes you out of the Doom atmosphere and makes you feel like you're hunting for treasure in between rooms of generic demons.

It's boring. The sound is annoying. It's not a horror masterpiece like some of the Doom games. It makes you question why you're playing video games. It makes you feel stupid. It is stupid. You are much better served doing anything but playing this game. I'm giving it a 2 because it's Doom.

Its gameplay is top notch and instead of hiding in the corner like a little **** you have to run around and beat the living **** out of demons. Memorable and awesome guns with sick as hell glory kill to finish them off makes it a very immersive and action-packed experience. Now you don't just aimlessly run around and shoot people. You also have to look around and find stuff and find secrets and other stuff if you want to proceed which makes it not only fun but makes it rewarding in a way where you will feel like you are progressively getting better through the game, and you are! Now going off topic here, usually you when some people are in a bad mood they like to listen to calm music or look at cute things to feel better. Most people want to beat the living **** out of stuff. DOOM is perfect for that because the first and main objective you are told to do is, "RIP AND TEAR", and that's what I did and I loved it! Critics (professional or not) rave about it, but only 20% of its players in Xbox have completed Doom (for comparison that's around 30% for competing shooters). What's the catch? This review might explain.
First, still after 2 years and 62GB of updates, there is a bug that corrupts some saves. When it happens, enemies stop spawning correctly and passages remain blocked. If it happens to you in the 6th mission (like it did to me) you're of luck: there is no way to restart the current mission from the beginning. Unless you really love the game and start from scratch, you have to restart the game. So take the rest of the review with a grain of salt, as I've only played (pretty thoroughly) the first 5.5 missions.
Let's switch to something positive: the combat. The enemies attack you from all sides, each one with the different types of attacks. Movement is crazily fast and fluid (60fps). Prioritising and being quick on your feet is crucial: trying to bring an important guy to low life and go for a close up gore kill is a risky tactic, rewarding you with a rain of health packs. Most weapons are awesome, with interesting primary and secondary fire modes. The only distraction is weapon switching on consoles: you switch from let's say the shotgun to the rocket launcher, only to find that it's low on ammo. You hold Y, time slows down, you switch to let's say the gauss cannon. You fire a couple of crucial long shots, then you press Y for a quick switch back to shotgun, only to be found again to your rocket launcher.
And that's just one of the areas where Doom prioritises old-school for old-school's sake, not caring about innovations since Halo. In most console shooters inventory is in front of your eyes (dropped weapons of the enemies), you don't need to stop time to pick it or manage its upgrades - and that allows it being played co-op. Even the most hardcore PC fan who loves to remember that x weapon is on button 7 will accept that being to play Doom in co-op would have been AWESOME.
At least its combat... Because a big part of 2016's DOOM is about exploration. We're not talking just about optional exploration to find admittedly cool collectables or original-Doom levels. In order to fully upgrade your weapons and armour to the max you have to pass lots of time between battles navigating the map, and jumping around. And even though there's not much to see (Doom is an endless exchange of grey, red and brown), there is a lot of pleasure in finding those things. But reaching them is not fun. The first person perspective, floaty movement and (in cases of hidden areas) confused visual language on what is interactable or can be reached would have been simply annoying if they weren't combined with an abysmal checkpointing system. You risked a jump to reach something marked on your map and you fell (because the game expected you to go there another way)? Good luck, you're back before your previous battle. And if this battle is the one where you have to use your double-jump to hunt around imps who push you to the abyss, you might be justifiably infuriated (if you enjoy shooting with platforming, try Titanfall 2's campaign instead).
Until this moment I didn't mention any story. It's because Doom proudly makes fun of its "scientists opened a door to hell, kill and destroy everything you meet" plot.
There's also a multiplayer, but I arrived to the game so late that it's dead - most people say it wasn't particularly good anyway.
To conclude, Doom appeals to nostalgia with some hits and some misses, but real thing it is adding to the genre (and which I hope other games will copy) is the rewards for risking to get close and personal with enemies.

But the most important thing is still the gameplay. And oh boy does it deliver. Old school fast paced gameplay that has balls, doesn't babysit you and actually rewards skilled playing. It's so refreshing to not be put to play defensively, cowering behind cover and just point and shoot. Doom delivers the most fresh gameplay experience in a while.

Devotees of the franchise and newcomers alike may find a lot to love in Bethesda and id Software's update of the classic shooter. Though, after a while, the gameplay itself may get a bit redundant, there's still a smooth, well-oiled nature to the combat that just kept me coming back, day after day. An imperfect, yet still eminently enjoyable action romp.

With the release of Doom VFR, we thought we’d look back at the last main entry of the series. How does one go about rebooting the granddaddy of the first person shooting genre? By taking what made the original, which still holds up well today no less, and cranking everything to the max. Everything from the catchy industrial soundtrack to the trademark gore has been improved.

You’ll begin the game already on Mars, having been connected to a strange machine that someone, or something, placed the player in. Our unnamed protagonist quickly arms himself and sets out on a journey of destruction through Mars and the very pits of Hell. Unlike Doom 3, the game puts the story on the backburner in favor of a simple premise that focuses more on fast paced action than slow exposition. There is plenty of story available, but it’s optional.

Much like the original, the game runs at breakneck speed. If you stop moving, particularly in a firefight, you will die quickly. Unlike most modern FPS games, you don’t have a regenerating health bar, so you will rely on seeking out health kits as well as using the new finishing moves that have been implemented in this iteration. After taking a set amount of damage, most enemies will begin flashing which is your signal to get in close for the kill. These are satisfying and needed to replenish small amounts of health.

You’ll find all of your original tools of destruction are present and accounted for. The biggest change to the arsenal is the addition of secondary firing modes, which are unlocked and upgraded by completing challenges in the campaign; some are a bit grindy, but worth the work. The only disappointment was that the chainsaw, which was a personal favorite, is now a pick up with a limited amount of fuel.

Much like the original, each level features a number of secret areas and short cuts, which rewards the player for exploration. You’ll find upgrades for your armor, weapons, as well as a small number of collectibles and the newly added runes. Finding a rune will unlock a short challenge, which if successful, unlocks an upgrade that can be used in the main campaign.

If you missed any collectibles or secrets, you are able to use the chapter select to head back with your newly acquired upgrades. The only low point of the campaign is the lackluster boss fights, which essentially set you loose in an arena against one of the game’s bigger enemies. These are more frustrating than fun, as the bosses are essentially large bullet sponges with a limited number of attacks, some of which are instant kills, leading to plenty of unfair deaths. Thankfully, there are only a few of these encounters.

In addition to the standard campaign, which clocks in around six to eight hours depending on your skill and selected difficulty, you have the option to play each completed level in the post release addition of the Arcade mode. This is similar to a score attack mode, limiting the player to certain weapons and removing any unlocked upgrades, leveling the playing field for those who wish to partake in the leaderboards.

On the multiplayer front, there are a number of options as well. While the PVP arena isn’t as populated as it was at launch, I was still able to connect to a game after a short wait. The multiplayer suite offers the standard game modes found in most FPS games. These modes are just as fast paced as the single player campaign, and in full lobbies can be fun despite the fact you will die and die often. Unlike most of the FPS counterparts, I found myself often laughing at my failures opposed to getting frustrated, which is a nice change.

I’ve spent the most time in the multiplayer arena playing with the new Snap Map feature, which allows players to create their own levels using a number of easy to use tools. They can then be uploaded for the community or friends to play. With hundreds of options available with varying levels of quality, there are a limitless number of replay options offered here. This feature also allows us the option to use old school visuals with the newly modeled enemies as well as to create a party with up to 3 friends for some co-op shenanigans.

While the game is lacking the survival horror element that was introduced in the last entry, it is a well-made shooter worthy of any gamer’s collection; especially those of us who are familiar with the original’s brand of ultra-violence.

Weapons and demons appear somewhat to be homages of the original but this game appears to boost an entirely new story/campaign, (which may have been expected by some.) It has been over ten years since the release of DOOM 3 for the original Xbox and PC so expectations may have been high for this game.

This latest console generation version of DOOM is arguably far different than that of DOOM 3, (Xbox or PC), since it boasts a shoot 'n' move mentality or style of game-play which some compare to the first two doom titles released back in the 90's. What adds even more strategy to the game-play is the glory kills which reward you for severely damaging demons but not killing them, (providing you move up in time while they're staggered and vulnerable and press down on the right thumb stick in time.) This often provides health pickups and ammo to help keep you alive while accessing the environment for more kills or where to move next. This may not seem too impressive considering that it gets easier the more you do this, but weapon upgrades, (which are purchasable during game-play), boost your odds of surviving tediously challenging checkpoint sequences that can often and easily take several minutes at a time to complete. Weapon upgrades include, but are not limited to a tactical scope for your heavy assault rifle and charged bursts for at least either of the two shotguns. Your character also has access to a grenade which he can throw only once every few minutes, (so you need to be smart when choosing where and when to throw it and who to use it against depending on what demons you're facing.) You'll also eventually have access to a chainsaw, (of course), which only has three units of fuel and needs to be replenished after all are used. It only works on the smaller of the demons so this should not be relied on too often. Demons move just about as quick as you for the most part and you are often both heavily outnumbered by them and also out in the open which explains how difficult the game can be on the moderate difficulty. The moderate difficulty is actually nicknamed "Hurt me plenty" so it's not to be taken lightly by any means so to speak. A wall/cover system would help you greatly but this would differ too greatly from the gaming experience of the first three games.

I like the arcade mode fairly well considering how easy it is to get stuck on the campaign mode without any walk through or strategy guide. You should be warned that it's fairly challenging and can be frustrating considering your multiplier rating will be reduced when demons inflict damage on you. It takes quite a bit of practice to even get a bronze medal considering you need 4,600,000 points for that in one specific section or level just for that! I recommend this to avid DOOM or first person shooter fans.

Doom was an awesome game, filled with fast paced action and new mechanics in the form of character progression and secrets that really reward you for finding them. This was not just a run in and shoot everything that moves game, but a in depth story that makes you part of the Doom universe. I for one cannot wait for the next installment.

This game is effectively perfect in my opinion. Its gameplay is some of the fastest and greatest I've ever seen, the fact that there are no shields and you move at Mach 2 makes this one of the most enjoyable experiences I've ever had.
The graphics seemed to get even better from the E3 presentation and the soundtrack is so hardcore that I always felt pumped throughout the entire game.

The story and level progression are brilliant, slowly feeding you new weapons and enemies so you are able to use the weapons and use the weapons to their full capacity and effectively deal with enemies and the story allows you to be as deep into it as you want, you can read deep into the lore or just have a great time ripping heads off of demons.

Overall, this is a fantastic game, easy 10/10.

One of the best games I've ever played. I love doomguy as a character. Hes a relentless badass who can remain in that badass state even when he decides to be sympathetic (VEGA scene.) The story is great, BUT THE GAMEPLAY IS AWESOME. It's very fast paced and fun. And the surprising thing is, it never gets old. With the numerous glory kills you can do, it makes combat even better. Multi-player is great too I really enjoyed it but sometimes there was players who use just rocket, grenade launcher, chaingun and kinetic mine these are weapons for lame players. Also there are just 2 things I would like to change. 1. Bad team balance, 2. You can't play alone with bots without gold.

Then there is Snap mode where you can build or download new maps and play or create whole new campaign so another hours of fun.

After update the game looks little glitchy but nothing serious. Everyone now have DLCs that is good I can finally play as that overpowered demons.

An update that's both fresh and willing to try new things yet simultaneously faithful to the original. The gun-play is utterly compelling and it's full of awesome weapons and upgrades that allow you to fire a weapon in different ways. Graphics, audio and level design are outstanding as you would expect from an id game but the real surprise is how fast and hectic the action is. The game throws all kinds of crazy beasts at you and I know I'll be going back to it again after I finish it to try different strategies. I bought it for the campaign so I can't comment on multi-player but for me it's one of the most enjoyable FPS games of the last 10 years. Expand

Hands down my favorite game for Xbox 360 or Xbox One! I grew up playing the original DOOM games and this is the style of shooter we've been missing for nearly a decade: gore, violence, dash of story, and arcade-style play. I've played this game start to finish about 5 times. Doesn't get old. Also a great stress reliever.

This game is excellent. The only issue I have is sometimes the carnage gets sloppy and I feel like I was killed cheaply. This is an absolute must buy.

DOOM is a glorious return to form for the franchise. The game oozes classic design while improving itself with new-gen hardware. Exciting combat, glorious kills and enough heavy metal to give you lead poisoning, demons beware! Doom guy has returned!

Yes!DOOM!The speed and soundtrack are great. It takes me back to the original game while blasting Pantera or Slayer full ball...A nice reminder on how games used to be and DOOM certainly has a place in the modern industry.

I don't understand the hype around this game, it's a solid shooter for sure but it didn't really excel in any area. The main downside of the game is that it was just a group of different encounters with very little inbetween. Once you've glory killed the demons a couple of times it starts to get old for a core mechanic.

AMAZING! this is by far the most integrating soundtrack in gaming history. the soundtrack is excellent by itself but what makes it even more amazing is that is fits perfectly to the game. every situation has its own tune and everything together creates a perfect symphony. the soundtrack makes you want to replay this game again and again just to hear this awesome music. job well done here,.

    D. Story - 5
the only down point in the game.
I know what most of people say about this. that this game doesn't need a story and I tend to agree, because the gameplay, stunning audio and visuals makes up for everything else. BUT never the less for a AAA 2016 game it should have a more decent story and it is quit a shame and disappointment considering the potential of pretty interesting lore. they could also throw some bad-ass cut scenes, why so cheap ?

    E. Content Vs. Value - 8
this is not on open game so naturally it is not that long. but aside from the campaign there are classic and arcade maps that you can and will replay again and again thanks to the Awesome OST like already mentioned before. there are secrets and collectables to find, weapon upgrades and challanges to complete.
the campaign is good but fells a bit too short.

    F. Controls and Mechanics - 9
Great but takes a bit longer to get used find fitting preset.

    G. Stability and Performance - 10
Perfect! for the whole campaign there were no noticeable performance issues, no crashes, bugs or glitches or anything that ruined the game from a technical aspect. THIS SHOULD NOT BE TAKEN AS GRANTED.
Lately new games are being released in an incomplete and unpolished state which results in many bugs. glitches. FPS drops. Hard Crashes and much more **** that ruins your experience and makes you think why did I even bother with this game. even after whole year some games still have a lot of issues and no one bothers to fix them because they are busy releasing a DLC which will probably have the same issues. why do people accept this kind of crap *face-palm* .

DOOM is the game everyone remembers it being, and it delivers....in the most part. This long awaited game hits those high notes, but never really reaches the stars. Although this game is run under the new engine, "ID Tech 6", the graphics are not what you would call perfect, but they are stunning, just not from up close, from afar the graphics are beautiful. The single player campaign is the strong point for this game, it's intense, fast-paced, and non-stop, there are demons around every corner ready to be killed in many different ways. The story is not really the highlight in DOOM, the gameplay is what keeps your attention throughout the campaign. The multiplayer is the weakest point of DOOM, it's nothing worth remembering, it may be fast-paced like the single player campaign, but it fails to give you thrills that the campaign has. DOOM SnapMap is a pretty neat feature, you can build your own map for multiple game modes in your own way, the sky's the limit, you can make anything from a simple DM map, to a layered demon survival map. It's pretty simple too, every little piece just snaps together bricks. Of course the music was perfect, nothing is better than killing demons to fast and loud heavy metal music. The gore is heavy, and I mean heavy, there is more gore in DOOM than there is in the Gears of War series. DOOM has finally come, it's big, it's gory, and it's fast-paced, it may not be perfect, it may be flawed, but it has enough entertainment to keep players occupied for hours and hours, this is just like playing the original DOOM all over again with a new layer of fresh paint and a few tweaks, DOOM is the most fun I have ever had in a long time and I hope to play it for hours and hours. I'm a huge DOOM fan since the original. I've played the whole series plus a ton of custom WADs. Bethesda did a great job recreating a modern DOOM. It has a lot of nostalgic moments (especially the Hell levels) and they added a solid mix of new gameplay. I wish the campaign was a little bit longer though. I haven't delved into the multiplayer yet so I can't comment on that.

I had been waiting for this since Doom3 basically kicked me in the testicles and ran off with my S.I.N. card.

Not a huge fan of the quick-time-style kills constantly threatening to interrupt my flow through the game ... but I'll forgive them, because gore.

Speaking only about the campaign as I dont play multiplayer . The fast paced gameplay really works and the combat in this game is very enjoyable . Overall gameplay is very good . The series brought back to its old roots of the 90s but only with 2016 hardware and graphics , this is really much more fun than what I thought it would have been . Excellent frame rate , the game runs absolutely perfect

A utter disapointment to the treat that was 2014's wolfenstein the new order, DOOM sports beautiful visuals and fun weapon designs but dosen't really justify the 100AUD/60USD that the game is worth. Heres a quick rundown of what you will expect.

In the upcoming sequels (because let's face it, we know that they're already in development), please bring back a strong element of horror. I believe Guillermo Del Toro would be a fantastic asset for horror consultation. If you decide to go that route, I'd love to see the path this takes.

While we won't go anywhere near as far to say that this online facing side of the game is an afterthought, it doesn't carry with it the same sense of intense playtesting and meticulous detail as the solo campaign.

A tremendous return for an all-time great. Doom feels so fresh by being so old-school. [July 2016, p.75]
