    The games ruthless approach to everything you do is executed flawlessly. From killing demons to simple tasks, the details are incredible. I was engaged in ever second of gameplay. Best part is you don't need the story to love the game! If your only in for the thrilling cutthroat murder-spree, simply just play the game.     Contrary to initial impressions, DOOM Eternal is not an action game; it is a puzzle game. Where a casual observer might watch high-level gameplay and only see the flurry of bullets and cacaphony of targets whizzing by the screen, the player sees a totally different picture.

    Instead of just seeing targets, they see priorities. Instead of just dodging, they're thinking about the order of    Contrary to initial impressions, DOOM Eternal is not an action game; it is a puzzle game.     Instead of just seeing targets, they see priorities. Instead of just dodging, they're thinking about the order of their actions, which resources to manage, how to most effectively keep them up, when to engage, when to run, and who to kill first. Every encounter is like a new puzzle to solve.

    Every arena consists of two categories of enemies; fodder, and heavies. Fodder enemies, typically imps, soldiers, and gargyoles, are hardly threats. They have small health pools, make little effort to dodge your attacks, and generally go down in a few small-arms shots. However, they serve a different purpose; they are easy prey to use your various resource-management abilities on. Use a glory kill on one to get health back, use a chainsaw to get ammo, or use the flame belch to get armor. Because these enemies are quick to kill, respawn indefinitely, and pose little threat, they exist not as targets, but as resource nodes to fall back on after running your guns dry, or getting low on health and armor. No; in a given arena, the real threat are the heavies.

    The heavies and super heavies are the real center of an arena. Unlike fodder, they have much larger health pools, more mobility, and generally much more dangerous attacks. The doomslayer's priority on entering any arena is killing the heavies as fast as possible. Doing so is not always so cut and dry; each heavy usually has a unique weakness or strategy to exploit, with which the doomslayer must respond to accordingly: cacodemons can be made to swallow a sticky bomb with precise timing, staggering them instantly; the hell knight has a particular weakness to the chaingun, making him falter more than any other weapon; and the most contentious enemy of all, the marauder, must be fought one-on-one in a very particular manner, countering his attacks and staying at a specific range. Taking all of this into account while fighting the heavies, as well as considering your ammo, health, and armor, and where the nearest fodder enemies are should you need to temporarily retreat and restock, makes up the bulk of the game's combat loop. Mess up once on nightmare, and you're a dead doomslayer.

    That's not to say you don't need a good base in FPS skill to play this game well; actually hitting your targets is just as important as knowing which targets to shoot. That skill floor might put off some less experienced fps players. But if you think you can handle it, the challenge DOOM Eternal presents is well worth it.    … Expand

    Ripping and tearing through demons in DOOM Eternal is a great time! The mix of platforming and combat is extremely well done, and I enjoy it a lot! The soundtrack gets you perfectly into the mood for wrenching off the heads of demons and punching through walls, and the overall sound design does a great job overall.

    If you like feeling like a complete and udder badass making demons cry at the mere mention of your name, then get this game. However, one thing i must add is even though the game offers a very good challenge on its hardest difficulty, once you beat it you are basically done with the game. Its a one and done type of game however offers a very good experience.

    If you like fast paced shooters that give you incredible feelings of flow, then look no further than Doom Eternal!
    If you're not used to shooters, it can seem a little crazy at times but it is so worth getting used too! Def one of my top games of the last year!

    Great game, im finding it much harder than doom 2016 though. i keep getting stuck on parts! otherwise a fast moving action packed game, very enjoyable!

    Probably the most fun single player fps campaign out there right now.
    Quick switching and mastering weapon combos and tactics makes the game immensely replayable and in-depth.

    I am an experienced FPS player, I have been playing FPS games my while life. I played on normal difficulty and still got my ass handed to me every 10 minutes, and it was worse in the Expansion packs. Definitely a good game to play to sharpen skills and focus on key combos. Go ahead, Rip and Tear, until it is done.

    One of if not my favourite game of all time, the replayable value is amazing and for a single player game within a week I gathered a hundred hours on it trying to complete it in ultra nightmare no criticism of it other than the multiplayer which is quiet bland but other than that it is worth buying.

    DOOM Eternal takes everything that made DOOM (2016) great and enhances every aspect of it. I have been playing through the DLC's on nightmare and it is absolutely brutal. The difficulty is intense and fast paced and your controls and mechanics all synergize so perfectly to keep you alive and slaying no matter what obstacle you are facing. The base game is fantastic with a lot of    10/10

The base game is fantastic with a lot of secrets and parkour puzzles as well as the normal demon dismembering chaos.

    For gods sake you get ammo back by using a chainsaw on your enemies.. how can you get more badass than that? The soundtrack is one of the best I have ever heard from any piece of entertainment whether it be a video game/movie/tv show ect.

    Doom Eternal is all around good. It has great enemy design, weapons, pacing, music and level design. It a game that embraces creativity. You find what weapons and combos work best for you. It a really fun action shooter.

    I love this game the graphics are amazing, the glory kills are expanded if you can get this game I recommend it so much! The only thing wrong with this game is that some of the bosses are surprisingly easy the most times your gonna die is when your overwhelmed and getting some special glory kills are kinda hard to get, such as a "back" glory kill on a tyrant is really weird, but those areI love this game the graphics are amazing, the glory kills are expanded if you can get this game I recommend it so much! The only thing wrong with this game is that some of the bosses are surprisingly easy the most times your gonna die is when your overwhelmed and getting some special glory kills are kinda hard to get, such as a "back" glory kill on a tyrant is really weird, but those are the only complaints in this game I strongly recommend this!… Expand

    Amazing soundtrack, incredible atmosphere and combat. Though it has a lot of bugs. But still gameplay feels so brutal and enjoyable, recommend to play only on Nightmare mode.

    If you want to play as an BEAST ripping through demons and zombies trying to eat the earth than you'll love this game. I can't wait to see what comes next in this epic ass game.

    If you're looking for a game where you are the demon king... this is the game for you. Its like halo, where the grunts run from you in terror, except you you also rip enemies arms off and shove them back down their throat mortal combat style. 10/10.

    Doom Eternal is the best feeling and designed first person shooter that I have probably ever played. The combat has immense depth to it while maintaining the simplicity of move and shoot. The combat of the game has taken everything about what made Doom 2016 a fantastic game and ramped it up to 11. No longer do you simply sprint around the battlefield and arbitrarily shoot demons until they die but not each weapon has a unique purpose in efficiently dealing with a specific demon. Id has turned the fast paced action and turned it into a unique puzzle that you most likely wont find in another game. The game has so much depth and fantastic replayability. The multiplayer isnt fantastic but is a fun unique arena shooter experience in its own right. I have completed the base game with defeating all 6 slayer gates and completed both DLC's. I have gotten nothing but euphoria from this game and each challenge is difficult and thrilling.

    What Holds the Game Back:
    This is not a casual game at all. If you are looking for something that you can sit back and not really pay attention to this game is not for you. Additionally, the game is very unforgiving on its difficulty you will not complete this game without putting a good amount of focus and effort into. You have to learn the combat systems and learn how to move, shoot, and glorykill very efficiently.

    Closing Remarks:
    A perfect score does not mean a perfect game. My scoring of a 10/10 reflects that this game is the shining gold standard of its genre. In the future I will compare almost every shooter I play to Doom Eternal. This game sets the bar high for what can be achieved in first person shooters in our day and age and I'm very excited for what Id will cook up now that they are finished with the story of the slayer.    … Expand

    I finished the main campaign, and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that was really fun. I bought the ancient gods part 1 and 2 and holy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥ I died a lot of times in the first part 2. 100% would kill some demons again.

    Thought this would be similar to 2016. It wasn't. It railroads you into the fun zone so hard, hell's economy crashed. Action GOTY 2020.

    I love this game, It is very enjoyable.

    I am almost done with this game as I think I'm on the second to last level as of writing this but this game has massive replay ability as you are just murdering multiple types of enemies and all of them are very unique. based off of a arsenal of weapons that you get as you go on. You also have grenades and freezing grenades and a flamethrower on    I love this game, It is very enjoyable.

There are some puzzles to mix in a tiny bit of a break from ripping spines from demons, they are simple but they at least require a few braincells to complete.

    In short - the best dynamic shooter with unstoppable gameplay ((It's like a Mortal Combat in Shooter genre))!
    Doom:Eternal is definitely more worthy buy than other products from this franchise.

    I hear a lot of people call Doom Eternal inflexible, and I don't think that's very fair or accurate, how flexible it is really depends on your pride and your ability to utilize the options that are laid out before you.

    The first time I played through Doom Eternal, I picked Ultra Violence because I thought "yeah I've played Doom before and that's the best Doom difficulty". I also turned    I hear a lot of people call Doom Eternal inflexible, and I don't think that's very fair or accurate, how flexible it is really depends on your pride and your ability to utilize the options that are laid out before you.

    The first time I played through Doom Eternal, I picked Ultra Violence because I thought "yeah I've played Doom before and that's the best Doom difficulty". I also turned off tutorials because from a YouTube review I heard they were frequent and annoying, and I had played so many id software games in the past I was confident in my ability to just pick it up and play it.

    I eventually turned the tutorials back on when I got my ass kicked by the Arachnotron for the 5th time without realizing the turret was a weak point. I didn't wanna miss out on any info like that again, and while I'd say my experience with the game was decently fun after that, I still felt like I was missing something, and like the game wasn't clicking with me.

    I liked the over the top story and bombastic level design that was much more dynamic and varied than Doom 2016, but in terms of combat I always felt like I was a few steps out of pace with Doom Eternal on my first playthrough.

    I think this is mostly due to the fact that the Ultra Violence difficulty is rather unforgiving, and that's not a bad thing, it's just rather demoralizing for beginners at the game who need to learn the mechanics. It's hard to learn those mechanics when you're constantly on edge and constantly at risk of dying due to the fact one wrong move can entirely throw you off, and considering Ultra Violence is most people's go to Doom difficulty I can see how so many people tried it and were instantly turned off, thinking there was something wrong with the game.

    Personally, my biggest problem was I found myself using a lot of the same abilities and weapons to do everything. Everytime I saw a weak point I'd use the heavy cannon scope and only the heavy cannon scope to take it out, never using the sticky bombs, heat blast, ballista, etc.

    I wouldn't use a lot of the new abilities like the blood punch, ice bombs, grenades, etc. It was too overwhelming to think about in the middle of the incredibly heated battles. The things is Doom Eternal is flexible enough to let you play it this way, you can beat it but it's not very fun to do so. But still, I managed to struggle through the game on my first playthrough, constantly on edge and never learning anything, by the time I beat it, I was glad I had but I didn't feel very accomplished. In fact I felt kind of demoralized.

    I leaned later that my greatest mistake was never lowering the difficulty and giving myself more room to breathe. When I finally played the game again a year later, I finally chose Hurt Me Plenty on the difficulty settings because my pride in playing that difficulty had definitely been shattered by that point and I just didn't give a ♥♥♥♥ anymore, wasn't like anyone could see me.

    The thing is Hurt Me Plenty in classic Doom was pitiful, there were way less enemies making levels feel rather empty which leads to it generally being shunned across all Doom game's by the community, but what a lot of people don't know is Hurt Me Plenty in Doom Eternal is just a normal difficulty in any other game, it's the exact same enemy count and placements, just with less damage output and a little bit less punishment for not reacting fast enough.

    When I finally chose HMP, I finally had that room to breathe and it allowed me to get more creative with my playstyle, and just like that the game finally clicked with me. I started using Doomguy's entire arsenal, and learned how to utilize Doom Eternal's mechanics in satisfying ways that made me feel smart for figuring them out, it fully immersed me in it's combat puzzle.

    When I came back to the Ultra Violence difficulty, despite playing on an easier difficulty earlier, I had learned enough from that more easygoing mode that I was finally good at the game, and I managed to beat it in one go in Extra Lives mode, and while it was no Ultra Nightmare playthrough, it's one of the most satisfying experiences I've had in a video game.

    So my recommendation to new players is turn that difficulty down, use those cheat codes, do anything that makes the experience more fun and easygoing and your playstyle will begin to show itself naturally, don't force yourself to go in hard due to pride, this is a very different game than any FPS out there and you just gotta have fun with it. When you do that and fully utilize the options it gives you to tweak the game to your experience, it's not only not inflexible, it's one of the most flexible and fun experiences you can have with an FPS game. id Software knocked it out of the park. As I type this I am currently playing through my first Nightmare playthrough and I can officially say I'm addicted now.    … Expand

    Buy it. It looks kind of interesting, right? Seems like it would be super fun to run around and shoot demons. It is. It's damn near the most fun I've had in my life. Just play the game. You won't regret it.

    Doom is a fast FPS shooter where you can enjoy the feeling of killing demons. It will make your hart pump. Most of the time you are running from a hord of demons while shooting at others simultaneously. You have to learn all the weak points of the demons if you want to beat the levels on higher difficulty.

    Doom Eternal has to go right up there in the top 3. Literally nothing comes close in terms of the adrenaline and rush of these fights and this DLC notches it up to 11. Amazing job from ID, you guys absolutely killed it and have made, in my opinion, the most fun gaming experience possible. Do yourself a favour and download this!

Its so good it kinda ruined other Shooters for me, playing DOOM Eternal and then Halo, CoD or even DOOM16 makes them feel boring. Every weapon feels punchy and has worth in combat, the combat itself is fast and gets the blood pumping. The violence is absolutely beautiful to watch and inflict upon the Demons,Its DOOM its ETERNAL, its DOOM ETERNAL. Fantastic game like almost perfect. Its so good it kinda ruined other Shooters for me, playing DOOM Eternal and then Halo, CoD or even DOOM16 makes them feel boring. Every weapon feels punchy and has worth in combat, the combat itself is fast and gets the blood pumping. The violence is absolutely beautiful to watch and inflict upon the Demons, Chainsaw kills have been integrated as a way to get Ammo which also works really well.     First and foremost this game is an absolute blast to play. Featuring high octane game play, beautiful environments, tons of enemy variety, weapon variety, incredible music, etc. This is a premium gaming experience at it's core. This game is worth every penny due to the games replay ability.

    It's not often that I leave a review on a game, it is usually only when it does something really well, or really poorly. I am sure you can guess which one here.

    Doom Eternal was a nice break from playing so many half finished games out today. Not much to say other than how smooth and bug free the experience was.

    DOOM Eternal what a great game, I played DOOM when it came out on floppy disc on a Dos computer. The game is fast play and great graphics. The down side of the game is you can't save the game unless you are at only certain parts of the game, if you want to stop the game will take you back to the last check point not where you stopped.     Most fun I've ever had in a singleplayer game I think. I haven't even played another Doom game, but maybe it's because of how much time I've spent in other competitive shooters that a game like this is so enjoyable for me. It's the only shooter game I know to be this difficult, with mechanics this crisp, without being played against other players.

    Doom Eternal is the best FPS, no, the best game I have ever played. It's an intense experience that definitely isn't for everyone, but no game can please every demographic, and Eternal did an excellent job at pleasing the ones who enjoy chaotic and fierce encounters.

    Absolutely love this game, very much up my alley.
    Currently playing through the DLC and getting my butt kicked.

    The full experience is worth playing, and multiple game modes encourage replaying the campaign in different ways.

A violent, gore-filled love letter to FPS gamers everywhere, DOOM Eternal will have you reinstalling it months later to relive the glory kills, chainsaw more Imps, and BFG your way to hell (and heaven) and back.

Very very very rarely drop frames outside of Super Gore Nest even with most settings on Ultra-Nightmare and in the year and a bit that I've been playing it on and off its never crashed on me.     This is what video games should be. Fast, precise, wide array of gameplay, tactics if you want; a good story thats makes sense for the overall pacing and has very interesting lore thats told through the environment n such. Ambient audio, etc. They put heart into it - its fun. Truly fun.

    This is the best dang DOOM you are going to find. The combat whips ass, and so does everything else. The lore is enormously stupid but in the way that the liner notes to a prog metal album are enormously stupid, which is to say it fun and rules. If this game were a person I would marry them immediately.

    This is what a quality game is. This is without a doubt my favorite game. I've bought this game in its entirety 2 times and have played the campaign at least 5 times since its release. There is not a single thing i dislike about this game, it can present a real challenge at times.

    This is my favorite game! The gameplay is fast paced and have a lot of emphasis on movement. All enemies and weapons are very well designed and fits into the combat loop nicely. You need to have good situational awareness and plan your attack within a few seconds of entering an arena, and good ammo management is very important or else you will be running out of ammo a lot.     Doom Eternal is an outstanding entry in the series marredby a few setbacks. There is a ton of content including one of the best shooter campaigns I have played this generation. The push and pull method of the combat is addictive to master and a blast to play. Everything looks and sounds fantastic and this is a game that makes me smile as a fan since the beginning. While the generation may be coming to an end, Doom Eternal is one of the games that will send it off with a bang.
