    The fact is that most players will just want to hop in and play rather than build. Those players will ultimately be left wanting after play set boredom sinks in. Still, it is an improvement over 1.0 and it makes me hopeful for what we might see out of the eventual successor in Disney Infinity 3.0.

    It's missing some depth, for sure. But the potent editor and regular new playable content and worlds ensure that children especially will always have a lot to play and tinker with.

    Disney Infinity has a lot of great ideas, but a lot of content is reused between the PlaySets and the camera feels wonky at times. The game on its own offers good entertainment for all ages, but for the most diverse experience for you and your kids, do yourself a favour and buy the Guardians of the Galaxy Play Set as well. That combo will keep you entertained for a long time.

    Disney Infinity 2.0: Marvel Super Heroes takes the first game, bolsters the Toy Box, crams in a bunch of new stuff and introduces some of Marvel Comics' finest characters into the fray. Any self-respecting Marvel fan is going to get a kick out of it, and the figures are fantastic, but repetition and slightly shoddy mechanics make the game a bit of a chore.

    The well-designed toys are the highlight of Disney’s Skylanders clone. As a children’s game the new Disney Infinity falls short when viewed from a Nordic cultural perspective. Here, Marvel doesn’t really hold a status as a major cultural icon among 7 year olds. [Dec 2014]

    Disney Infinity is a series that should be awesome. A virtual toy box of beloved characters tossed into a game that should at least be competent enough to be fun. I gave the original the old college try, and was sorely disappointed at its lack of said fun.

    Nothing revolutionary but Disney Infinity 2.0 is definitely a good game for kids. If you are older, the toys will probably seduce you but the basic gameplay and graphisms of the game will be difficult to support.

    Disney Infinity 2.0 is lacking in content, even after you have paid out in excess of £120 for all the available playsets, and sadly what content there is is bland, repetitive and generally uninspiring.

    2014 has been an underwhelming year for gaming. Whether it be not meeting the expectations of gamers, coming out with DLC, the constant drama2014 has been an underwhelming year for gaming. Whether it be not meeting the expectations of gamers, coming out with DLC, the constant drama in the gaming community about resolution and graphics, rehashing of old games, just adding content to previous games and putting a name on it, silly gimmicks that nobody cares about and etc. And that is where Disney Infinity comes out with yet another AVERAGE game titled, "Disney Infinity 2.0" editions. I ranted on about this game to myself and on social media enough so here we go. The playsets are five hours long each with a total of 38 rinse and repeat missions, the toy box mode is better/bigger, the roster is still laughable, (missing lots of Marvel/Disney characters) the two games modes in the starter pack are "ok" but a little fun I guess, the figures are expensive and the average side missions from the previous games, are gone. Nothing much more to say about this game is that it only attracts kids/teenagers, figure collectors, casual gamers and this generation of gamers. This game is just ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC! I hope Disney Interactive finds their way again and does better. The PC port suffers from bugs, glitches, the game kicking you out, the server resets itself when you least expect it, lag, the system performance prevents certain PC users from building worlds and etc. Overall, it's a disappointing game and DON'T expect a lot out of it. It is just another gimmick that will end up dying when the next "AVERAGE" gimmick from Disney Infinity comes out. Yay. What a WASTE of INNOVATION for a game that could have been better with a better upgrade system but instead, the upgrade system is laughable, the demanding price for such a lackluster/average game is also laughable. All and all, A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. Way to go Disney Interactive. Oh and don't be surprised if you can't get a good trade in value for the figures because YOU WON'T! Have fun with this average game. The characters are fun to play as, the game modes are ok and the toy box mode/community mode is awesome but what is the point if the game is just so....AVERAGE! I wasted $30 on both Drax and Iron Fist combined and I do have buyers remorse from it. NEVER AGAIN! I will stick to going on Ebay and looking up web codes. FYI, a lot of the reviewers that gave this game a 10,9,8 or 7 are delusional at best or our causal gamers. There is nothing note worthy of this game. And with the same middle finger opening from the first previous game, I just say that all and all, it is a HUGE WASTED POTENTIAL OF THE MARVEL LICENSE! NEVER AGAIN WILL I BUY YOUR STUPID FIGURES DISNEY INTERACTIVE with a LAUGHABLE TRADE IN VALUE!!!!… Full Review »

    The controls of the characters are awesome. I absolutely love using the characters that have flight (Iron Man and Nova) because maneuvering them is easy, fun and provides seamless transitions between flight and combat (gives me hope for a good Superman game to come). However, there are a few things that still need be worked out.

    First, is that you cannot play any of the play sets from the first game. I know recoding it for the new version would be so much work; but, I would love it if down the road it became a possibility. I no longer have my xBox360 and the play sets from the first game just sit now (Great work porting the rest of the game).

    Second, the development tools are still not the most user friendly aspect of the game. I never got into the building part of 1.0 (too in depth) and I am still wishing for a tutorial that makes building a lot easier. Minecraft is very simple, aim...place....done. I still don't understand how logic works and although they are trying to give "infinite" options someone like me needs a dumbed down version.

    Lastly, there are way too many bugs in the game. In going through the tutorial it would tell us to do varying missions all of which were inaccessible. We were supposed to save a princess and when we got there the gate would not open and the enemies to battle did not populate. When we were supposed to do racing challenges the cars for us to race in would not populate and the only way to keep playing was to abort the missions all together.

    My last suggestion would be more characters that older generations know. I love the Marvel line up; but, I would love to see characters like Wolverine, Cyclops and Deadpool and characters like Tron, Baloo, Darkwing Duck, classic Mickey and Goofy and Gizmo Duck. The majority of characters stem from movie releases (I know its good marketing); but, the Disney universe is so much greater than Guardians of the Galaxy which was foreign to most people last year.

    Overall, it really is a good game with a TON of fun and hours of co-play. I have a very man's man (Call of Duty, Battlefield) friend and he even admits to enjoy this new version. We played for a few hours just trying to shoot one another in an arena.

    I highly recommend adding it to your library. Like the name suggest it really is an infinite game and with every new play set release, you have an entirely new game to play with characters.
