The original game on PC only kept me going for a few days. When I hit 60, I got bored and never touched it again for 2 years. Then the RoS expansion got release and that's when I started to love this game. For me the game starts at level 70 and will be fun forever. With the addition of Rifts, Bounties and soon Greater Rifts there's loads of variety and the endgame content is endlessly fun. So far my experience with Diablo in general.

When I played this game for about a month full time I can say this game is meant to play on the console. The controls are perfect and I mean perfect for a controller. When you play on pc you have to click where you walk and you stand still. When playing on console you're movement is under your leftstick and you're constantly manoeuvring around. The 2 mouse buttons are RT and RB for me, the skillsbar (1-4) are your ABXY buttons. This works like a charm. The skills menu is a bit getting used to, but they designed it in a way that when you get used to it, you can do it blind. They added a few nice things on consoles like the gift system and Nemesis kills as well.

This game would receive a 10/10 if they banned all players with hacked items and if they created the 'clans and communities' from PC to make it easier to play together. It is a little too dependant on your friendslist now (which is no problem for me, but it still would be a great addition to make it even easier on us to find equally experienced players). Love this game on the console!

This game provides hours upon hours of playability. The cut scenes are from the gaming future, the loot is worth hacking and slashing for, and for those of us that like "the grind", it's a perfect match. As far as the Diablo series goes, the Ultimate Evil Edition rises to the top.

8.0 max. One of the better titles released 2014. Polished seamless play in 3rd person with a good display. AI in creature design is lacking and this becomes more of a bash and smash affair also with magic. Still has some good map tricks and traps that will make you think before you act. Entertaining as a game that can be played over and over with different character designs.

And the combat is borderline retarded, you have a few spells to choose from and you get to gradually upgrade those spells, but you don't have to. I finished the game with the spells I got, without bothering to switch or change them at any point. And the whole game was the same thing: dodge, shoot, dodge, shoot.

The graphics are ok but nothing spectacular. Just... meh.

The story is difficult to follow if you're not a fan of the series and the characters are dull and useless.

The game takes me back to my High School years when I would act like I was going to sleep, and then sneak back on the computer to play Diablo 2. I lived on Jolt soda in the mornings back then.

The game is WAY TOO EASY. My friend and I played through Act 1 on EXPERT and I died like twice. I don't want the game to be soul crushingly impossible but I do want to sweat a little bit. There are so many defensive abilities I don't even need to use. I'm playing as a monk and I have an ability called blind which prevents all enemies in the area from attacking for a few seconds. However because the game is so easy there is no reason for me to even press that button. I assume I'm supposed to be a glass cannon but I'm more like an invinicible nuclear bomb.

The leveling system is ANNOYINGLY FAST. I got to a point where I just ignored all the new abilities I kept unlocking and just continued playing. I dont understand why I would get to level 30 just playing ACT 1!

The game hands out WAY TOO MANY orange (epic/legendary/powerful) items. Again I got to the point where the game was so easy I was just using whatever I had on and turning the new orange items into enchanting mats. This game needs to hand me a cracked sash and a butter knife and tell me "tough sh..!"

I will continue to play this game but Im goning to take items off my character / only wear the less powerful gear and try to add some fun to this game.

Polished, well made, no bugs, etc. A triple-A execution but one thing just doesn't work, the game is waaaaay too easy. So much so that it makes the game feel like it will never let us die.

We started on normal and we could literally just tape the A button down, go make some drinks and come back without a scratch. We changed to Hard, same thing, so we moved to Expert...still baby pablum easy. At Expert level we should be wiping regularly but we barely had to use a potions every 30 min. There are some contextual actions like AoE attack that will freeze you in ice and we did dodge them at the beginning but even that was not necessary. The damage we took was too low and the recovery rate of the gear offset the dps taken by 80%.

Considering we were both average gamers, completely new to the game, chatting all the time while drinking too much vodka it just felt like the game was broken. Somehow it wouldn't let us go on a higher difficulty setting (requires a certain % of epic gear, totally unnecessary) but we tried. Bosses were also very easy, they have the same difficulty curve as a pack of mobs rolled into one. They don't spike on dps, they don't require a strategy, there is no gear check and basically you just hack them slowly like you would hack 50 mobs packed one on top of one another. You can use the Left/Right or X buttons for "special moves" but it's almost optional, it just goes a bit faster.

The economy also looked broken, particularly in Expert mode. The XP and the $$ are increased 150% so you literally swim in cash. By the time you reach level 20 you can afford every single epic gear at the vendor and after you sell your old gear cash balance is still 10x what the vendor can sell you. We quickly figured out we could just buy everything without worrying about $.

The game is still a 5 because the storytelling is great, the graphics are cool and there is always something to keep your attention. This is a game clearly designed for a flat, constant and predictable serotonin delivery in players' brains. The pacing is very regular with mobs evenly spaced, drop rate high with even epic gear (yellow) dropping too often for something supposed to be rare. There are no long walks or downtime, no difficulty spikes, no skills nor thinking nor online research is necessary, gearing is obvious, skill configuration is very simple to balance with gear, cash is abundant, quests are easy to find, ports everywhere so you just teleport back to quest giver, you're never lost (it's too linear anyway), etc.

Basically, the game is designed with multiple small rewards, low difficulty, low strategy, low frustration and a constant string of small happy moments to make the players feel good the entire time he plays. You don't get those huge "HURRRAY!" moments of glory when you finally beat something that was insurmountable but you also don't ever get the negative feeling of struggle or having to search for a solution.

For very, very casual players (or very young) this game is huge, it will spoon-feed satisfaction to all, your character looks badass and will be best game ever. For older players who've acquired depth with bigger scale MMOs and have experience in more complex and more challenging games, Diablo III will look like a puzzle for 10 year olds with 20 pieces to put together. It's pretty, very well made, some original ideas...but it's so simple that when you realize it doesn't matter what you do - you will win no matter what - then you realize the game treats you like a child.

I'll be honest, I get a little bored playing solo but add 1-3 more adventurers and this game takes off. It's an absolute riot punctuated by cries of "I've levelled up!" and "I've found some legendary pants!"
The story is fantastic, the gameplay is brilliant and the game's longevity is boosted by the addition of Adventure Mode.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. So, here we are again with the 'Expansion' pack to Diablo 3, Reaper of Souls. While this is the 'Ultimate Evil Edition', which includes Diablo 3 generously, it's essentially Reaper of Souls packaged differently. So, what has Reaper of Souls done to improve or stagnate the same tired mechanisms of Diablo 3?

In a number of surprising ways, Reaper of Souls improved on Diablo 3. The crafting system for items and legendaries, while even more streamlined, has made the system very easy to understand and compatible in different playthroughs. There are now 'paragon' levels that allow you to continue levelling up past Level 70 (for some reason), so grinding is somewhat less of a chore. Also, Grinding is less of a chore not only by that but with these new 'Nephalim Rifts' that allow you to nab some pretty neat loot and materials for legendary items or breaking down legendary items for their powers. Health Potions, instead of being a set amount to carry, are now infinite and have a cooldown, which, once again, plays hard on 'streamlined', notably keeps the pace of the game going, as you don't have to micromanage potions (not like you would anyway with the thousands upon thousands of means to obtain health through items).

Story, well, it's once again on the cutting room floor. The only silver lining with the story is there is actual closure with Leah's mother, who betrays you in the D3 only to disappear somewhere for you to go fight Diablo in Heaven. Malphael, some angel or whatever, wants to use the black soulstone to essentially rid of all death an destruction, but in doing so, has to kill innocent people in the process. This would be a means to convey a 'moral grey area' with malphael, but that aspect never gets treaded farther and only serves as a excuse for the Primevals to escape once more, as the Black Soulstone that has carried the Evils is broken at the last moment. So all in all, pretty meh in my opinions, but the area of Wayrest is very neat and varied, with a number of dynamic quests that can be amusing or enhance the lore around the city, with a much more 'spooky' feel to it than the whole of Diablo 3 (once again, not that I care, since I never thought that Diablo games were creepy anyway).

The new class to the table is the Crusader, much in the same way as the Paladin in D2, is a more strength/faith based player who can dish out holy damage at an unprecedented rate, and equalizes with the Barbarian as a strength-focused player character against the other 4 classes that either were intelligence or dexterity based. While the crusader isn't necessarily original, the Crusader offers just enough callbacks to the Paladin and new tricks of it's own to differentiate it from it, as the Paladin was much more Dexterity based than the Crusader was.

So while Reaper of Souls is still a hand holding bore of a experience that dreads on even with the new longevity added to it, ROS at least now has a much more satisfactory successor to the great Diablo 2. But certainly not it's DLC, Lord of Destruction.

The only downside is the online play. Finding a random match of players who are not cheating is nearly impossible. I recommend solo online, or searching the web for legit folks to play with.

The game's actual story and voice acting seem to have jumped off a cliff. Compared to previous titles. But for me it's biggest draw is it's a solid 4 player co-op. So yes if you have 4 controllers. You and 3 of your friends can play in your living room. Or you can play online. And the characters are more than powerful enough to solo. So it's great if your looking for some mindless Diablo fun. The only really disappointing thing with choosing a character is that you can't change their appearance at. When I play an RPG, I want to have control of what my character looks like. The story for this game is actually a little intriguing. Usually for past Blizzard games, I never paid attention to the story because it was week and Blizzard games are more for the gameplay and combat. But I like the story because it's essentially a battle between Heaven and Hell. Another reason I got into the story is because at the beginning of each act is a well done cinematic cut-scene that's very fun and interesting to watch. Now to the gameplay; this is where the game shines. In just one character class, there are many ways to play. You have a bunch of different abilities and attacks to choose from, within each ability and attack you can choose a perk so the possibilities are endless. I love the combat because tons of enemies swarm you at once, and you can basically mow them all down with moves. Another great thing about gameplay is the looting and equipment system. You come across tons of different loot through out the campaign, each item usually has its own unique appearance. Dressing your character with the equipment is simplistic because the game automatically shows you the the comparisons between each piece of equipment. You can also upgrade your equipment to make is better, and you can dye your equipment to have a matching set and make your character look better. When I play this game, I usually play a half an Act or a full Act at a time (there are five Acts). After that, I need to to break for a couple weeks or so from this game because playing a session that long can leave you bored. After taking a break for an extended period of time, I get right back on the game, and it's as good as before. This game is pretty great that will have you playing for a long time. Expand

They have updated this game to hell. I got a legendary item belonging to the first boss before I even got to him..... god this is lifeless. You can stand still without taking damage, it feels like a dead MMO

Удобное управление, хорошая оптимизация, 1080P, и ещё много плюсов в этом переиздание, так что обязательно купите его, если вам нравиться жанр Hack&slahs, ведь Diablo, это икона этого жанра.

There are some really good elements to this game, and there are loads of content on this disk. That said, it does get kind of monotonous as time progresses and the graphics look rather muddy and hexagonal. All together though, pretty fun to play and should be good for several weeks of fun.

The game is fun I could play this for hours and hours but I must admit I do get bored playing alone occasionally I recommend playing this with friends and family other than that the game is great it runs nice and smooth and rarely has noticeable drops in frames but nothing that would effect game play.

The graphics are great and really add a lot of character to the settings throughout Diablo 3. The expansion pack, rifts, greater rifts, and paragon levels all give this game a lot of play time. Playing with friends online is an enjoyable experience and I love the option to play multi-player locally! The only fault I have with this game is in the story. It can be a bit cliche' at times with some predictable dialogue. This isn't to say that the story isn't neat, but I wouldn't say it's worthy of a 10. I finished the game without strong connection to many characters throughout the story. The story though doesn't take away from it's incredibly addicting game play and character development. I would recommend this game to anyone. I would definitely get the expansion though as it adds a lot of value to the game. Expand

The only game that has kept me interest for more than 10-20 hours. If you tried it when it first came out for PC, you should give it another chance. It's hardly the same game. And it's actually even better on console than on PC — better controls anyway, but you don't have the seasons or leaderboards that the PC gets.

Really nice game in it's type/style. I was a bit sad because it was short but I really enjoyed this game and I'm still not tired with it after I start it over with another class. :)

It's very repetitive, but just can't get tired of it.

Console version of this game is best thing that happened to it. It's completely different experience - the game is more dynamic, and most of annoying issues were fixed thanks to Reaper of Souls. As i said - it's other game than these few years ago. Oh, and there is a splitscreen too! In 60 fps! On consoles!

THE most loot grindy, kill fest on Xbox. For casual gamers the console port can be overwhelming. I honestly wish I just found this as years later and making the console switch I still go back every season to gear out a Monk, just for the feel of the loot. I honestly wish I just found this as years later and making the console switch I still go back every season to gear out a Monk, just for the feel of the loot. I said for years what kept people playing was that there was no end. The random roles on gear had to be perfect. Years ago you would finally after weeks and weeks of farming post AH close find a Thunderfury only to realize the rolls stunk so off you went again. Now years later with Primal Ancients it is possible to finally have a perfect set, although, uh, good luck with that. No ifs ands or buts about it. If Borderlands peaked your likes because of the gear drops then this monster is for you. Like a class but it’s getting boring, make another. But I don’t want to spend all that time leveling up again. Not a problem. With a leveled up Gem of Ease, you can max another character in minutes I say. MINUTES!

For new people, this will consume you until Immortal drops on mobile which is obviously Blizzard’s way of avoiding a BETA for Diablo 4. Roll out a mobile game with limited abilities based off 3’s characters but introduce new game designs and mechanics and if they bite, keep feeding that new fish. Funny way to go about being secret but it’s a win win. Release a mobile game with paywalls to a degree to make extra money and also gauge a fan base for Diablo 4.

Back to 3. Just getting into this game? There is enough content on board to keep you busy for weeeeeeeeeks. Yes, the vets can steam roll to 70 in a day and gear out in 3 and by weeks end in a season they are farming 80+ Grifts, but that’ll take you forever to do. Every piece of gear has stats you will have to study to see if it’s better than what you have. Some gear has bonus effects while using. Some get grouped together to create Godlike capabilities to unleash carnage like never before seen.

Don’t mind the negative reviews saying it’s not as good as 1 or 2. Those guys are just wanting everyone else to know they’ve been playing the series a really long time and Blizzard owes them. I say, you wouldn’t still want to use AOL to get on the net would you? So why do you back a game that looks like it could be played on a T85 calculator. Just embrace the new. If you’ve never played the others relics then no worries! You won’t know anything different.

Say goodbye to the sunrise, sunset and dinner for a few days. When you see Diablo, tell him I said lol.....

This game feels like an attempt was made to make it good but falls far short of that. Its core gameplay is a great launching off point but past that it appears that there was a huge disconnect between the developers vision and the vision of those who loved the first two.

Expand

The structure of the new adventure mode, overly easy leveling and accessibility of overpowered weapons have removed some of the sense of wonder and exploration from the game, but the Ultimate Evil edition is undoubtedly an improvement on Diablo III and earns a well deserved bump in score.
