Game is equally bad on both the XBone and PS4. Huge disappointment. The biggest multi-player game of the year goes bust on day one. Fail...

Why did I even bother getting a PS4?

It seems a poor man's Borderlands 2, without the loot fun and the RPGish elements. Friends who got the game also spoke of disappointment, though the multiplayer has got some nice aspects to it.

Stay away from this game. I was really excited for it after the beta and loved it, but this game is basically just an extended beta. I reached level 20 after a few hours play and the game was still more or less the same thing. Just took my game back to gamestop and traded it in.

    Would avoid.

The hype for this game was a total over reaction, bought the limited edtion and the strategy guide, i feel so ripped off. the game is the same thing over and over again in every level, go through the same landscape, find something to deploy a ghost on, fight off enemies, repeat. VERY POOR

Where is all the content and vast exicting world i was promised? the landscapes are the same in every mission, every corridor is the same, on every map there are the same planes laying around, the same boring AI - who are dumb as well by the way. and the missions are all the same. very disapointed with this.

I want to feel the love for this game but i just cant. The game was over hyped to say the least, starting the game up i was impressed, as the graphics are beautiful, but thats it. the rest of the experience is BORING.

Honestly it just feels like a generic FPS, but with an mmo feel to it so I'm not really that impress. Plus the customizing isn't really that impressive. Plus the fact it's online only is a huge negative in my books.

Don't support this game. Just don't. Tell your friends not to. It is a $30 game at best. Enemies have poor AI and they respawn frequently, so "exploring" is kind of like hanging out in Hyrule field in a recent Zelda (ie: you are constantly harassed) Almost all NPC's have no dialogue other than a vocal quip as you approach them, then it's just a screen where you trade cash for goods. Or maybe you get free goods. From a robot. Or get mystery goods and build up a score for gambling with your money a lot. Who cares. Many more basic engine bugs than I have ever seen in ANY game (networking and group play). Peter Dinklage could be replaced by any other bored sounding male. They could have probably replaced him with 100 interns and at least had an interesting game.

I have played many games in my life. I have paid too much for indie games, and I have payed very little for games that have given me 100's of hours of entertainment. Given the professional names behind this release, I can only assume that this is either a cash grab (note how no reviewers got pre-release code for reviews), or nobody would tell Bungie that their emperor had no clothes. Back with Halo 2 they scrapped everything and started over at a point during development. This is not the same Bungie.

This game gets one point for teaching me to never pre-order a game again.

They could have just added the cooldowns to the weapons themselves and not even have armor drops since they barely ever drop. I played the beta and had way more fun.. seems that they nerfed the shooting from far away and changed the enemy AI to hide some much more that its annoying for me to try and find out where the enemies are hiding. I played to level 10 and played on the earth and moon... there are only 2 small maps for the earth and moon and way to repetitive to keep sending me back to those same levels to do missions. Destiny seems like a sequel to the 90's game Myst. Stale, sterile sets that you don't interact with. For some reason many battles happen in total darkness and you just kinda bump against the wall. Dull and repetetive. Server repeatedly crashes. Terrible game - but please check it out to understand how terrible it is!

Destiny is the worst game out there.

It was in development for awhile...hinted at in Halo 3: ODST Easter eggs (2009). The game feels like it’s been stuck in development for much longer than that though. The plot—if you can call it one—is not compelling or interesting. Gameplay mechanics are okay but they neither are twitch realistic (think CoD) or arcade-fun (think Borderlands 2).

Sadly the developer advertised the game to be a massive shared world shooter; that being said, the largest multiplayer matches were measly 6 vs. 6 teams. In comparison, Halo 2 for the original Xbox was pitting 8 vs. 8 matches back in 2004.

Also what is up with the no proxy talk feature? It’s frustrating that I can’t vent about my frustrations with other players in game without navigating the cumbersome menu screens (which, might I add, were molded after the navigation screens of Halo 2… seriously guys, this is anything but a next-gen experience).

Giving it a 0 for the insane hype and terribly boring experience. Do yourself and do not purchase this game. Bungie should not play their fans for the fool like this.

Graphics and the music are the only things this game has going for it, and you'll get better quality of both just watching a decent movie. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Spoiler: the game has no beginning, middle or end. This is either a huge failure by bungie or more likely, a catastrophe caused by corporate overlords hellbent on milking every dime out of gamers based on the street cred of bungie. Much like the sneak peek at Aliens: Colonial Marines. The final product is not at all what was advertised. This game feels gutted and the parts and entrails of this possibly once great title will be sold back to the fool hearty who endure this slap in the face and actually give them more money. No I say! This ends today! I'm taking this steaming pile back and getting credit for Shadow of Mordor. We'll see how that goes. As for destiny, the graphics are awesome, sound awesome, multiplayer can be fun but even that is wearing thin after only a couple weeks of semi-steady playing. It just lacks any depth whatsoever for anyone except maybe the hardcore player. I mean seriously, I shouldn't have to put in 150 hours of gameplay to get a couple really sweet legendary or exotic pieces. Instead the game drops with the most random crap loot system you could ever imagine. Oh they'll fix it, they say! Donnn't worry they say! Screw that. Where all ya schwag at destiny? Ohh that's right, it's coming soon, $20 bucks please!! Expand

One way to get loot is to shoot identical aliens that walk out of a cave hoping they'll drop good loot. The multiplayer consists of shotguns and fusion riffles along with the occasional heavy ammo and super kills. Everyone says if you buy the DLCs the game will get better I have no reason to believe that any more than them saying the game was good. On the plus side the graphics are really good. Claiming there are hundreds or thousands of guns in the game is retarded there are about 10 Different types of weapons such as (Hand Cannon, Fusion Riffle, Shotgun, Sniper, Rocket Launcher, Pulse Riffle, Auto Riffle, LMG, and Semi Auto Riffle) within these groups there are guns that look almost exactly the same but have a different power and class. Their claims of having a space adventure is a loading screen in which your ship bobs up and down beside others. One of my favorite things to do in this game was the speeders, and classes. Too bad, any and every unique feeling weapon will be nerfed to balance pvp, essentially making every exotic weapon a visual reskin only.

Were you hoping to find unique epic armor that told "your story", too bad the best gear is raid gear and the sets look identical across each class. Meaning every warlock, titan and hunter effectively look exactly the same minus whichever exotic piece they chose.

Things that this game should of released with but for whatever reason did not:
Open world voice chat based on proximity in patrol areas and the tower
transmogrify system allowing you to customize your appearance separate from gear stats.
Separated balancing between pve and pvp allowing weapons to feel epic and awesome in pve while maintaining the balance sought after in pvp.
"events" like queens wrath should have at least several truly unique missions tied to them, not reskinned bounty icons with a vendor that sells "rare" quality items, at the very least offer exotic rewards.
Bring back the ability to dismantle event specific legendary gear for shards so that players have a reason to repeat missions more than 1 time.

My rating reflects the lies, constant neglect and customer appreciation that Bungie has towards it's players and fans. The game gets boring as soon as you beat the game which can be done in 8 hours or less. Also the story is awful. I would give a higher rating for graphics, music and game play. Though that would telling Bungie they did a good thing.

Destiny feels like the key elements of an FPS and an MMO gently resting shoulder to shoulder, instead of being fused together in a truly creative way. It plays and looks great, and offers many, many hours of entertainment to anyone okay with repeating the same tasks, but it isn’t exactly the game-changing science fiction epic we felt it was aspiring to.
