Deliver Us The Moon is an okay walking simulator with an excellent story to hold it up. If you have the chance to play it on Game Pass or pick it up at discount, it'll be worth the time.

I like puzzle games, but not this.
It seems like, a techdemo turned into a game.
Pros: The setting, area and story are the strong points of the game. - nice backtracking when you’ve finished an area. - solid translation in speach and even the text on surfaces and ingame Labels - somewhat rewarding ending The downsides - awkward and stiff movement, which makes dexterity, jump and run

    The downsides
    - awkward and stiff movement, which makes dexterity, jump and run passages annoying (not challenging)
    - the „you got hurt“ visualization
    - hilarious (in a bad way) quick time events
    - super easy puzzles; walk the whole floor, find the solution written somewhere, done.
    - very often strong controller rumbling, for every tiny door opening, closing or for no reason at all; PS: thank god they had a setting to turn it off; PS PS: it still rumbles sometimes (for example loading)

I played „call of the sea“ a few days ago which i rate much better. it was also the debut of a small indie company, but way more polished.

Deliver Us The Moon (or "Space Chores" as I came to affectionately name it) is certainly an ambitious project for a small developer, it falls short in a few ways that bring the project down as a whole.

Deliver Us The Moon (or "Space Chores" as I came to affectionately name it) is certainly an ambitious project for a small developer, it falls short in a few ways that bring the project down as a whole.

The good stuff first. They do a superb job of getting across how alone your character is during the entire game. You're the only person to have explored the space bases you explore for over 5 years and through sound and visual design they really hammer that home very well indeed. It comes to a point where around the halfway point you are given a small robotic helper and you're almost grateful for the company. Dialogue is delivered through radio at the very beginning but soon after that its just you alone in this vast space station, the only dialogue coming through cleverly designed holographic recordings to move the story along and give exposition to the characters. In the meantime the ship groans and creaks and fills you with an odd sense of un-ease. You never encounter another soul your entire playthrough of DUTM and that isn't a spoiler to say, the game never infers that anything can be down there and in fact it goes out of its way to say its long deserted numerous times. But you always have this odd sense that maybe they are playing you along and something will dart out. Instead it is just the weird abandoned house style feeling of being somewhere empty and derelict that was clearly once vibrant.

Some of the puzzle solving in the game is quite clever but accessible (until the end game which I'll get to shortly) and by and large I didn't find myself too frustrated by the solutions very often. It also does a very good job of subtly pointing you in the right direction without outright telling you. The next thing to do is often the logical thing to do if you step back and think about it for a second.

The bad unfortunates negates the good in my opinion however. Whilst at the beginning it seems quite novel to be an astronaut doing "astronautical things" you soon realize around hour 2 that this is going to be a slow paced game even for the walking simulator it most assuredly is. Gameplay very much consists of "go here" followed by "there is something in the way, clear it" which then allows you to "go there now". The puzzles are quite entertaining and keep you engaged but they tend to follow the same sort of template of button pushing, heavy object moving kind of puzzle. Sometimes they'll throw in limited oxygen to put a timer on things but you'll rarely come too close to dying because of it.

It is worth noting that the game as it appears on gamepass actually includes within it additional DLC the developers released after launch due to players disatisfaction with what was apparently a cliff hanger ending (it'll be obvious when you reach it, I was surprised the game continued at that point) and a desire for "end game difficulty". Due to this the last hour or so "Tombaugh" is suddenly and jerkingly more difficult than the rest of the game that settled into a pleasant sort of easy going difficulty. It is jarring in its change from the rest of the game and quite frustrating when you get to it because without knowing this was added after launch it comes across as padding for time when the difficulty ups.

Whilst the controls are generally ok, the interface relies heavily on use of "x" and if you have two things close to one another that need that input then the game can get confused as to which you mean. Often this happened to me in situations where time was of the essence and only led to further frustration. Input can be somewhat laggy at times also. I strongly recommend the first thing you do when you start the game is to up the sensitivities in the settings to 10 in both axis. I spent 75% of the game thinking the slow horizontal movement was supposed to be an intentional effect of being in space, the game became much more controllable afterward.

The story never really grabbed me honestly, whilst the voice acting was at times quite commendable they weren't given much to work with. A decent third act twist aside (which I admittedly did not see coming) there isn't much of a rollercoaster ride here. You're a space engineer doing space engineer things and the efforts to inject personal incentive for the characters fell flat. The game is also quite oppresively dramatic, there is little humor here to lift the mood occasionally. That would be fine if they levelled it out with perhaps some moments of horror or tension but the game stays very middle of the road the whole way,

Overall it isn't a terrible game, it fills 6 or 7 hours and engaged me through most of it. The last hour or so of increased difficulty felt like a slog and I can't say I would ever revisit it. I enjoyed myself a little though and thats the perk of game-pass, titles like this that I would never try otherwise. This is worth a go if it looks appealing to you during the lockdown but if you like fast paced action then look elsewhere.

That's where it ended up in the Game Pass. As a free game, it's fun in itself. It is only worth a maximum of 15 @. But it just looks mediocre and unfortunately offers too little.

Как по мне, финал сюжета можно было сделать более информативным и масштабным.. но в целом игра довольно неплохая, я не пожалел, что поиграл

When I saw this game in gamepass it really excited me because I love sci fi. Too bad that atmosphere and story was totally ruined by the rest of the game. Even with sensitivity at max, the turning was still terribly slow and also movement was strange. This game runs at like 20 FPS so it was blurry and unpleasant to play. In this very dark game isn't brightness setting neither. HardestWhen I saw this game in gamepass it really excited me because I love sci fi. Hardest puzzle was definitely darkness because you need to find stuff to progress or even find a way to go. So with all this it was very painful experience and there wasn't a single moment I enjoyed playing this game. I really wanted to enjoy story and atmosphere of empty station on the Moon but I was overwhelmed by the rest that I just couldn't. Overall I 100% this game in about 7 hours so make your own decision if it is worth buying or just giving it try in gamepass. Expand

Deliver Us To The Moon is sci-fi puzzle game that is powered by Unreal Engine 4 therefore the game looks pretty and realistic particularly on PC with RTX enabled.
at first it looks like a copy of Prey but unlike Prey this game is actually a walking astronaut simulator which the only objectives u should do is to go from point A to point B and fix a stupid machine.

An enjoyable puzzle game that does enough to keep you interested, and gives you a really immersive feeling of being on the moon when you step outside the space station. That naked feeling of vulnerability will be a sensation I remember for a long time after the credits.

Unfortunately, the story wasn’t quite as good as it needed to be—without giving anything away, a few of the data points collected along the way revealed a bit too much about where everything was about to go, and that made the big reveal more like an update about where the characters wound up rather than major revelations.

Difficulty spikes were also an issue, with some puzzles being as simple as ‘find this in a room and put it here’, and others being like navigating a maze to find the bit of cheese somewhere inside.

Finally, for a game this length, a $25 MSRP is too high. I finished the game in 7 hours, so I feel it should have been cheaper (although I played it on Game Pass, it’s now been removed).

At first I was shocked that I've never heard of this game, cuz the story was so great and engaging. But after 2-3h I started to get boring. The puzzles were based on the same mechanism, story was so predictable so the last 30 minutes of the game I just wanted it to end... IMO wasted potential, I expected something more after the great start. Good start to a story that turns to nonsense quickly. Mediocre gameplay is worsened by terrible design and signposting. The game is short but you will spend a significant amount lost because there is no map or simple way to know where you need to go. For example, you are told to go to command centre as if you know where that is and have lived in the station your whole life. On top of that,Good start to a story that turns to nonsense quickly. On top of that, there are many cases where you are supposed to use a laser to cut open yellow locks but these do not stand out. They are often missed because they also decided that the station will have yellow accents, text, and signs all over the place. Seems like a basic part of game design to make your interactable elements pop out. Also, you have a laser but are not allowed to use it more than 2 metres away from the target.

Overall, it's not a bad game, but it's not good enough to recommend to anyone. The 5-6 hours spent here could be better spent in many, many others.

Deliver Us The Moon is an incredible experience which I would recommend to anyone in its current form. Its story is short and sweet, delivering all the punches it needs to while rarely over-indulging in itself and wasting its players' time. While it suffers from a few minor drawbacks, they don't come anywhere close to bringing this rocket ship back down to Earth.

Deliver Us the Moon isn't perfect; in fact at one point the game broke transforming my screen into a rave light-show you'd have to warm people with epilepsy about. It's hard on the eyes, the challenges can feel impossible on their first shot, you control like a block of ice filled with helium but I'm glad I played it. It's different and doesn't demand much. It's a relatively short and sweet game with a story to tell and is done in a way that makes you listen. Maybe, should the developers feel compelled to fix a few of these problems, Deliver Us the Moon could go down as a truly great game. But, until that happens, I guess we'll have to settle with an okay game that shouldn't be passed over with at least some consideration.

The KeokeN Interactive game, though imperfect, teaches us that we must first keep our feet on the ground and not look so much at the stars.
