Feb 20, 2015Is this really the Last Round? I doubt it. But that aside you’ll get a well filled beat-em-up package with subtle visual improvements. But it can’t hide that the base engine is from 2012.
-
Feb 25, 2015The best the franchise has looked to date and the fighting is more enjoyable than ever.
-
Apr 6, 2015A great fighting game at its core. [Issue#122, p.80]

Official Xbox Magazine UKMar 28, 2015The content additions are minor and the visual upgrades are difficult to spot. [Apr 2015, p.78]

Mar 16, 2015This last re-edition of the game adds too few changes to be considered by who already owned the Ultimate edition on Xbox 360. If you never played it, you'll get a very enjoyable fighter but with a bit too many online problems.
-
Mar 9, 2015The fact that this is the "new" version of a last-gen iteration doesn't suffice when you realize it only adds 2 poorly developed characters and a couple of recycled scenarios. If you are a fan of the series and you are looking to play the game in the current generation of consoles, this is the version you need, just bear in mind that it is not a next-gen game properly speaking, but an adaptation with a couple of irrelevant additions.
-
Mar 4, 2015Dead or Alive 5 Last Round is still an exciting fighting game. But this 'definitive' version lacks -yet again- fresh new content. Which is why it's only interesting for those who haven't played Dead or Alive 5 before.
-
Mar 2, 2015Despite real new features and a not-so-great visual environment, Dead or Alive 5 Last Round still stands as a solid fighting game, with rich content and gameplay.
-
Feb 23, 2015The final version of a game released in 2012. That means it includes three years worth of available DLC, but it also means the graphical improvements weren't as grand as they could've been. DOA5 is still a solid fighter, but a lack of ambition, focus on DLC, and severe bugs in the Xbox One version means it's not amazing.
-
Feb 23, 2015Dead or Alive 5: Last Round is a bit weak. The gameplay is solid, but it has been like that for years now. The new content is mostly sexy outfits for the DOA-ladies, it does not really add much to the Dead or Alive 5-experience. Graphically speaking this really is a remaster, so you only get a higher frame-rate and definition. This could have been more.
-
Feb 24, 2015It’s particularly frustrating to see Last Round struggle in terms of raw performance when it has no problem marketing its DLC.
