Once again, almost the same game that we saw a couple of years ago, but it's still a worthy game for the new gen consoles that doesn't have a lot of quality fighting games available. Beautiful and smooth, but a little bit aged.

There will be (or already is) an upgrade version for DOA 5 Ultimate for the last gen consoles so if you still have your copy of that, then there is really no need to upgrade. But if you skipped playing Ultimate, or just have never experienced a DOA game before, then you owe it to yourself to add this to your library.

Outside of a few issues though Dead or Alive 5: Last Round is still a super enjoyable fighting game. There is a superb amount of content, and for those not wanting to invest fully, Core Fighters is a great alternative to check out what it has to offer.

Dead or Alive 5: Last Round is a fantastic victory lap for the fifth generation of the series, offering an extremely impressive lineup of fighters, costumes, and stages that will provide endless fun in both single player or with friends.

There’s nothing new in Last Round that you haven’t seen by now in the previous versions of DoA 5, and there is nothing wrong with it. However, the constant problems that prevail in the online mode are something that will make the experience of playing it something really frustrating. It’s really a shame that a really important aspect like this still suffers after the two really good attempts that were Dead or Alive 5 and Ultimate.

Is this really the Last Round? I doubt it. But that aside you’ll get a well filled beat-em-up package with subtle visual improvements. But it can’t hide that the base engine is from 2012.

The best the franchise has looked to date and the fighting is more enjoyable than ever.

A great fighting game at its core. [Issue#122, p.80]

The content additions are minor and the visual upgrades are difficult to spot. [Apr 2015, p.78]

This last re-edition of the game adds too few changes to be considered by who already owned the Ultimate edition on Xbox 360. If you never played it, you'll get a very enjoyable fighter but with a bit too many online problems.

The fact that this is the "new" version of a last-gen iteration doesn't suffice when you realize it only adds 2 poorly developed characters and a couple of recycled scenarios. If you are a fan of the series and you are looking to play the game in the current generation of consoles, this is the version you need, just bear in mind that it is not a next-gen game properly speaking, but an adaptation with a couple of irrelevant additions.

Dead or Alive 5 Last Round is still an exciting fighting game. But this 'definitive' version lacks -yet again- fresh new content. Which is why it's only interesting for those who haven't played Dead or Alive 5 before.

Despite real new features and a not-so-great visual environment, Dead or Alive 5 Last Round still stands as a solid fighting game, with rich content and gameplay.

The final version of a game released in 2012. That means it includes three years worth of available DLC, but it also means the graphical improvements weren't as grand as they could've been. DOA5 is still a solid fighter, but a lack of ambition, focus on DLC, and severe bugs in the Xbox One version means it's not amazing.

Dead or Alive 5: Last Round is a bit weak. The gameplay is solid, but it has been like that for years now. The new content is mostly sexy outfits for the DOA-ladies, it does not really add much to the Dead or Alive 5-experience. Graphically speaking this really is a remaster, so you only get a higher frame-rate and definition. This could have been more.

It’s particularly frustrating to see Last Round struggle in terms of raw performance when it has no problem marketing its DLC.

The gameplay is still fast and with great variety of movements in each character, sound has always gone unnoticed and this time does not stand more or less.

Things I did not like to get to 10:
    1. It has many bugs in programming and game crash constantly, I guess it's something that can be fixed with a couple of patches.
    2. Even if you buy the game completely, you have to walk down parts.

the game is great, i love it, has a tons of costumes and fan service. but the xbox one version crashes all the time, that means that you can not play the game even solo in arcade mode. because its crashes no matter what.

they will fix this soon i guess, but this short of things shouldnt be happening, we are paying for agood product, not for a game with bugs to be fixed days after you bought it.

is a great game but fails to deliver because of that. i would recomend to wait a few days until team ninja fix it. check ign or gamestop for news about it.
