I was a huge fan of CD Projekt RED for 13+ years (since the first Witcher) and I liked the GOG's policy, despite preferring other platforms for their functionality. I really didn't want to bring this up, but the GOG/CDPR actions and attitude left me no choice.

The Cyberpunk 2077 is raw, unpolished and bugged as hell. The more I play — the more broken quests, "silent" dialogues and other technical issues I get. I was sending bug reports and suggestions to the CDPR support since release, but I haven't got any replies. Zero. Not even automatic ones, so I don't know if they even check them or no. There are no answers, there are no patches, there is no roadmap. The day-one patch arrived on GOG later than on other platforms and after that only two useless "hotfixes" were released (it didn't fix anything for me). No real patches for a month, no new hotfixes for weeks. The Russian localization is terrible and Galaxy client resetting the language preferences every time I launch the game. (There is no such problem on other stores). And the client still crashes ten times per day.

I've heard a lot of complaints about optimization, but at least I don't have any significant problems on that front despite some minor fps drops and object popping. Though I've built my PC especially for Cyberpunk and my TV supports only 1080p resolution at 60fps which is likely the main reason I’ve got an ok performance.

GOG/CDPR stuff keep ignoring all problems with Cyberpunk and Galaxy launcher, but this isn't the only problem they prefer to turn a blind eye for. Some of you may know that they decided to cancel the long-awaited release of an indie game Devotion on GOG to please some Chinese bots. They've slaughtered the game without any reasons (the little placeholder with the hurtless joke was completely removed from the game years ago). And the main problem in this situation that GOG staff answered on Twitter bot messages within a few hours by fully cancelling the promised release not only for China but for the rest of the world too. At the same time, they keep ignoring thousands of their own customers for weeks. They’ve just silently deleted the announcement and cancellation posts without any official statement/explanation/comment, ignoring all questions and support tickets about their decision. Just check the GOG’s Community Wishlist — it is the most requested game of December and January. This is just another sign that GOG/CDPR changed their policy from being pro-customer to being pro-money. It isn't the first call, but it can be the last one for many loyal customers. Censorship can't be tolerated, especially political censorship — I'm sick of this **** in my everyday life.

So, after all of this, I’ve got really disappointed. I tend to buy way more games than I have time to play. And I prefer playing on another platform, but I used to buy second copies of the games I like on GOG only because I liked it's policy, customer-oriented service and wanted to support my favourite devs. But this isn't the thing anymore. I haven't even played 99% of the games I've bought on GOG, so, I've tried to request a refund for them. And they refused.

GOG support has finally answered on my ticket. First of all, they've completely ignored all my questions about Devotion. Secondly, they've refused to refund anything (not a single game from 340+ in my library!) They've also refused to comment on the bugs and estimated release of next patch for Cyberpunk 2077. (They've told me to contact "CDPR official channels" that haven't answered to support tickets in a month). Finally, they've refused to partly refund my physical copy of Cyberpunk 2077 so I could get the Steam version instead (I don't want to be forced to buy future addons on GOG and use their broken launcher anymore). They've told me that I should refund my physical collector's edition where I've bought it. But it isn't possible after you've opened the box and used the activation code. Well, I will be waiting for heavily discounted GOTY/Director's Cut/Enhanced edition on other platforms then.

I was supporting and advertising GOG for years. I've bought all CDPR games on release, including collector's editions and versions for different platforms (not to mention figurines and tons of other merch). I didn't expect that these companies’ management will start to wipe their feet on its loyal customers. I’ve missed the moment when they turned into EA/Activision siblings, but as far as history shows — it's the one-way road in this industry.

This is the last game I've bought on GOG. In the current state, I can't recommend it to anyone, nor I can recommend this platform anymore. I'm disgusted by GOG/CDPR recent actions and their new priorities. I'm disappointed by the way they've decided to handle situations around failed Cyberpunk launch and Devotion censorship. Their reaction (the lack of it) on customers' feedback is a disgrace and I regret supporting them so much…

The problem, from what I've been seeing in these reviews is that most of the gamers have issues playing this game on the original Xbox One. The fact that they cannot upgrade to Xbox One S or X is why they have lag issues. This game is revolutionary and plays perfectly on Xbox One S. A word of advice for these negative people, stop playing new games on old consoles, it makes a difference.

The game itself is fantastic. I'm playing on a Series X so haven't had to face issues as game breaking as last gen players have. The reasons I haven't given a 10: The game has muddy textures and a lot of visual, but superficial, bugs. It's not running any where close to 4K and there a lot of NPC, text and scenary pop in, even at close range.

It is absurd that the game had so many delays extending the release date back year after year and it feels like they accidentally released the alpha version instead! There is soooooooo much to do in this game and the story is really good and the graphics are fantastic but those points are only a minor part of the story. From the moment I boot up the game I get bombarded with minor irritating glitches all the way up to game breaking crashes. In my around ten hours of playtime I have experienced these issues, among others! Falling through the ground under the map, rubberbanding, rendering not able to keep up with itself while driving. Everytime I move from one room to another I have 5-10 people popping up from delayed rendering. I also have buttons not recognizing they were pushed, sound skipping and repeating, and multiple full game crashes! With this huge list of problems with the game I still give it a 7 because everything else besides those issues is a flawless game that tries a lot of new things I just really wish even half the glitches weren't there because the game itself has me hooked!! This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Cyberpunk 2077 had a horrible launch and deserved all the flak it got, but with the recent patches, it’s improved a lot. Crashing and freezing on Xone has been reduced and the game runs smoother. The frame rate feels like it’s improved a bit, but cops are still broken.

Storyline/Characters The story is absolutely brilliant, the writers did a fantastic job. I love the idea of V and Jackie not knowing that the chip they stole was a personality construct of Johnny Silverhand and V slowly turning in to Johnny. Jackie’s death scene is real emotional and when V says “See you in the major leagues.” To Jackie’s body, it’s just a punch in the gut. Every end is really good for storytelling. I don’t know how many there are but here are the ones I know of: V leaves Night City with Panam or Judy or both, V kills himself, V stays in Night City and raids a space casino, V raids arasaka tower alone, Johnny takes over V’s body. Almost all the characters are like able and feel like real people, Jackie, V, Johnny, Panam, Judy, Saul, Mitch, Mama Welles, and practically all the other side characters. The two main romances, Judy and Panam, are amazing characters with really good side storylines. Judy’s actor did a fantastic job with her, she’s so good, some of the scenes with Judy are hard to watch. Same with Panam, who a lot of times is fueled by anger and revenge, but also is a caring, loving person to V and the Aldecaldos. For both Panam and Judy, you can tell their voice actors really tried, but then again, every actor in this game tried big-time. I saw this YouTube comment and it practically said Cyberpunk’s main plot is about death and excepting one’s mortality. I think this is true cause in every ending V “dies” in some way.

    Gameplay
This game has a fantastic story, but what about gameplay? Gameplay is also pretty damn good, it can be frustrating when the projectile launch system doesn’t do any damage or when bullets don’t register, but when your running around with a blade, and your just chopping everyone down, it makes you feel like a real badass. Most guns are fun to shoot and sound nice.

Conclusion Cyberpunk 2077 is a fun, emotional, funny, buggy, sometimes frustrating game with a fantastic story and good gameplay. I recommend getting this game after the February patch. One more thing, I keep seeing people saying this game looks like a PS2 game, it really doesn’t. To all the people who keep saying that why don’t you go do side by comparison before making it seem like this game came out 2005.

The gameplay is fine, The story is pretty good, the shooting feels nice, but for me personally, the driving feels floaty like friction just doesn’t exist, and melee combat is godawful because I just can’t seem to hit a damn thing even with auto aim enabled. The Character customisation is ok, maybe even a bit lack luster considering we can’t morph our faces and bodies to really make V like no one else.
The bugs and performance issues are rampant, but CD Projeckt Red has been cracking down on most bug and frame rate issues fast but when I played it, I couldn’t get a stable frame rate worth a damn.
So basically what sums it up is that it isn’t a bad game, just the performance issues and bugs hold it back from being one of the best games of all time. You

I spent around 20 hours on Xbox series X, and damn this game is garbage. Putting aside the bugs and crashes, this game is awful. The AI is probably some of the worst I've ever seen, the progression is boring and feels pointless. The level gating is terrible, the combat is terrible, the loot is terrible. This has got to be the best looking worst game I've ever played. What a joke of a company.

Overall, I think there’s a lot to like when it comes to Cyberpunk 2077, which has been unfortunately marred by poor performance issues on a number of platforms, and some poor communication (along with some overpromising) on the part of the publisher. It’s clear that a lot of work went into putting this game together, and it’s unfortunate that it had to release in a state that feels a little unfinished. It’s still a game you can very much derive enjoyment from, even in its current state but your ability to overlook open-world bugs and performance issues is certainly going to factor in quite a bit.

Cyberpunk 2077 didn't meet my expectations, but also didn't disappoint me. It delivered an RPG experience like no other, delving deep into themes like control, awareness and addiction. The combat is great and the graphics are amazing, but the bugs and some under-cooked systems make it seem like the devs got lazy, and that's always a bad sign. (Played on Xbox Series X)
