I do not understand the hate this game gets, all those zeros, this is not in no way a bad game. It is a very underrated game that gets too much hate. The campaign is one of my favorite COD campaigns, very fun and replayable. Multiplayer is very fun as well there is lots of fun to be had and the maps are all interesting and stand out compared to the other CODs.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is Sledgehammers' first attempt at making a full Call of Duty installment. And I think they did a pretty good job in regard to that. But that doesn't mean that it's the best when it's in comparison to previous and future installments.

The story begins with a cliche death that you don't really care about since you've not been able to create any sort of bond with the character. But it's the means to push the story forward and to fully introduce you to "Atlas" which totally isn't the bad guy.

After a few missions, you kill the leader of a terrorist group that recently caused a big nuclear situation that left many cities devastated. But the leader of the terrorist group gives you a USB stick that shows that Atlas knew of the threat and decided to let it happen for profits (who would have guessed a big corporate private army would become the enemy,)

Then you connect with your old team with Sentinal and go to fight your once ally now for Atlas. Which you technically never successfully achieve because the story ends with you killing the leader instead of Atlas being completely destroyed (as hinted in the game after you complete the final mission.)

Overall the story is not memorable but not terrible. Gunplay was alright though the aerial mission near the end where you control a fighter jet felt weird with and without inverted controls.) A good first attempt by Sledgehammer but not that impressive when compared to the other games in the series.

"Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare" is a solid improvement over its predecessor "Call of Duty: Ghosts". Released in November 2014, it was the best COD game I had played in years. Unlike previous entries, this one features the likeness of a major Hollywood actor. In "Advanced", Kevin Spacey plays a corrupt C.E.O. who isn't a far cry from his "House of Cards" character. Gameplay-wise, the big innovation is the exo-suits which are right out of the sci-fi flick "Elysium". Their inclusion in multiplayer help quicken the pace to the combat in both competitive and cooperative modes. Unfortunately, the suits' abilities are restricted in the otherwise entertaining campaign.

One of the game's highlights are the visuals. Graphically, it is a solid jump up from the previous gen's COD titles. The single player takes on the form of a futuristic "Modern Warfare" with cool tech such as the sticky gloves from "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol". Developer Sledgehammer Games (they co-created MW 3) has not only done a steady job with the single player and multiplayer aspect, but have added their own zombies experience. The exo-suits give the "Advanced Warfare" zombie maps a different feel from Treyarch's zombies. AW also includes a cooperative survival mode that featues waves of different enemies. It can be played with four players and is quite fun though it lacks depth.

Overall, this is a solid entry in the "Call of Duty" franchise. It may not be a masterpiece, but it is a solid outing. I'd rate it with an 8.3 out of 10.

Asides from the multiplayer, the campaign is great although the storytelling isnt the best (but still good) the level design was great and it took advantage of the exo suits really well. As for zombies and the DLC maps, it was ok but i dont think it's worth the money, although i did enjoy the exo survival mode. Although it's not the best call of duty, its still a good game worth playing however i don't recommend the DLC or the season pass. Expand

Up until the release of Modern Warfare in 2019, this was my all-time favorite Call of Duty. Some people could say that this game had a predictable story, and while it did, it did not hurt it in the long run. Personally, I was caught off guard by the plot twist. Being given an exo suit with incredible power and punching all sorts of enemies was satisfying all the time. While the missions were a little restrictive, they never got boring. The only gimmick I hated was the mag-gloves. These pieces of trash forced you to go straight up, down, left, or right; you can't go diagonal which makes it so annoying. The other tech you are given is so much fun and mixes up the gameplay. The advanced movement, lethal and tactical gear is incredible. The survival mode was hard, but an excellent mode and new spin to survival from Modern Warfare 3. The objectives you are given are fun, and so are the upgrades you can get. Zombies at first I was very critical of, but now I think it was just not what I was used to, but it was a good thing none the less and had some good twists to the gameplay. The one thing I HATE about it though is the EMP zombies because at one point, the ability to jump really high is NEEDED and the moment you can't do that, it's more about running for your life until you regain power than it is about the carnage. The multiplayer is probably the worst part of the game and has been the only time that I feel like I'm suffering when playing. The boosted jump makes shooting idiots near impossible. Some tactical items are now nearly pointless because of the boosted jump. Guns needed to be more powerful because of the boosted jump. This was just a poor case for multiplayer. Expand

So, I've always bought the COD games and I've never been a big fan of the series, just the same old recycled game over and over. I have to say, Advance warfafe is hands down the best COD game ever made.
The graphics are stellar, the campaign mode is engaging and fun and its an all round good time. Kevin Spacey is amazing, and its the first COD game that had a good story that made sense

Advanced warfare is a very mixed bag. On one side you have very pretty graphics and a very solid campaign however the multiplayer experience is quite mediocre with unbalanced weapons, clunky gameplay and a large portion of the maps are very forgettable. It isn't a bad game but not a good one either.

Both games are a military science fiction first-person shooter and both have similar game mechanics. Also in both games they have exo-suits which enhance your character's abilities and movements. Such as walking on walls, punching someone into the air, sliding across the battlefield, super stomp, and super jump. Some differences they have are the weapons.

One thing I don’t like about Black Ops 3 is they do not have a lazer shotgun and rifle but Advanced Warfare does. Also Black Ops 3 you can change your character but you can’t in Advanced Warfare. In Advanced Warfare you can customize your character with different equipment. Some things I would want to see in the next game in the series is both Advanced Warfare and Black Ops 3 combined. Also with the multiplayer I would have to say that they are similar but a few differences such as you can choose your player model in BO3 and in AW you can customize and choose your player-model.

Also in multiplayer you have to kill the other team before they kill you. There are many different game modes in these games. There is Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, Search and Destroy and Mosh Pit. These game modes also can be played in hardcore mode which you do not know how much ammo you have and no mini map.

In Capture the flag you have to go on the enemy's territory and bring their flag to your base. In team deathmatch you have to get to 75 kills before the enemy team. Also you kill the enemy team and one enemy equals one kill. In Search and Destroy you play as the diffuser or planting the bomb. There are two different bomb locations. As diffuser if a bomb is planted you have to go diffuse it and you win or you could kill the bomber before he plants. In mosh pit is is a mixture of all of these.

So Black Ops 3 and Advanced Warfare are good games that still keep the COD franchise moving. Even Though ADV is an older game that BO3 had to follow they are still keeping gamers interested in the Call of Duty series.

Jet packs make the pacing faster, but it can prove challenging if this isn't your style of gameplay with people jumping around all the time. My biggest gripe with Advanced Warfare is the supply drop system, specifically the Advanced supply drops. Paid microtransactions just need to go plain simple. I found the map design to be superior in striking a balance between offering some camping spots but not too many, but not so run-and-gun-centric like typical 3 lane maps that don't allow much besides running down a lane or waiting for someone to run down the lane. The variety of weapons is vast, and I have earned a large % of the variants without spending any money besides the base game and the season pass for new maps. I'm still having fun. I'm still learning different weapons. I bought Black Ops 3 when it was released, and I ended up logging very little time on it as I find AW much more appealing. Expand
