COD back to form, great game. This has been the most change in COD since M1 and it's brilliant. It feels like Black Ops 2 (my personal favourite) but much faster (Makes CTF a lot more fun.
The weapons customisation system has much more depth than any other COD, the choices you make greatly effect what you are about to do.

This is a NON bias review. I've been a call of duty fan since cod came out. The last good cod I played was BO 1. They had interactive levels, good maps guns etc. This franchise has gone down an icy slope and it looks like the debs don't give a f@*k! They make TONS of profit and that's after paying everyone off... are you telling me they can't add dedicated servers?!

    Barely anyone plays

They make TONS of profit and that's after paying everyone off... are you telling me they can't add dedicated servers?!

Barely anyone plays this game for single player so I won't even bother reviewing it. The multiplayer has all the issues from the previous cods combined into one. LAG and the poor lag compensation that comes with it. I'm a pretty good player but when I load a clip into a guy and he jet packs off, it really annoys me. Or better yet I laid a clip then have to reload and I die with 1 shot to my leg.

Another downfall is... THE COMMUNITY, playing with thirsty campers and low connection speed players put a good player at a disadvantage and makes you frustrated easily. Notice when you turn a corner to shoot and you get shots in but die? Then on the replay you didn't shoot at all or your killers screen is red? Yeah that's lag compensation. Mix that with a slightly slower reaction and you're screwed all the time. You have to be lucky to get in a good game with skilled players that actually explore the map and play the objective. Kills streaks are garbage because most are useless or require heavy camping to obtain (thirsty campers).

The community, he devs lack of innovation and support to fix issues or give back a dedicated server to its loyal fans really makes me hope that this franchise dies off. I'm praying the new cops n robbers Battlefield runs for going forward. They are actually doing things right minus kill streak rewards but meh. At least they make PLAYABLE games right? I advise the creators of COD to do some soul searching and think about creating a game that's fair to those paying for the same **** year after year... We want interactive maps (not just random floods etc but buttons to change the landscape), diverse weapons and balancing, better streaks, DEDICATED SERVERS(biggest issue). I get into games that remind me of what this game could be with those tweaks, I could deal with campers if the lag was gone but with that problem existing it's a campers best friend.

I cant play this game for more than an hr at a time or less due to the issues mentioned. Anyone rating this above a 6 is either not of legal age to play the game, is 6 years old or has no standards. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED, TGE GAME IS BROKEN. Good thing i didnt pay for this, i actually stopped buying at mw3. I advise you do the same, maybe a kick in the ass is what the devs need (but you will all buy the next one hoping for improvement year after year only to be tricked into buying the same game. R.I.P. COD... see you suckas online...

Fun when it actually works properly. However it has too many problems.

    1) There is CONSTANT interp lag, worse than any other FPS I've ever played. What you're seeing is never the same as your enemy. You'll shoot someone 3 times with a shotgun, and then watch the Kill Cam of your death and it not even show you shooting. People will be reloading and facing the other direction and shoot

    2) The game has very little variety. There's not much reason to choose a weapon aside from an assault rifle. Most of the maps are basically the same. A big circle with a few buildings in the middle. Almost every person uses the the same the same perks, scorestreaks and weapon attachements.

    3) Using a combination of perks and weapon attachments allows you to NEVER show up on the mini-map regardless of what you're doing. Guess what combination everyone uses? Prepare to die a lot never seeing your opponent on the mini-map, never hearing them shoot because of interp lag, and never hearing their footsteps because the sound is so low/non-existent.

    4) Unlocking weapon attachments is more frustrating than fun. Want a scope so that you can kill enemies from a distance? Yeah well... you need to kill enemies from a distance first.

Its not inventive or anything but sometimes you get into a game thats good and it reminds you of what it SHOULD be but its not. Excellent story! Great story, though a bit short. It's amazing how they compressed such a story in such a small amount of time. It is like the opposite of Halo where they take a story and stretch it out. :/ No bugs or errors! First COD I've played though.

superior to the previous 'Ghosts' (which doesn't take a lot) this is a very fun Call of Duty and my personal favorite since Black Ops. We get a fun story to play, innovated multiplayer and a cool new exo-survival game mode. But it's Keven Spacey that really makes this game what it is.

This game(if you can call it that) is rubbish. Coming away from Far Cry 4 to this is a total descent to the pits. Did the Sledgehammer think that by making Kevin Spacey their man that it would make the gameplay better? Didnt work. Back to the store you go.

Modern Warfare 2 was the last awesome Call of Duty game. That was 5 years ago. All the other games after that have been garbage. Black Ops 2 signaled a sliver of new hope for the franchise, but not much. Then, that was completely wiped away by the utter catastrophe that Ghosts was. However, seeing the new footage for Advanced Warfare before the release got me pretty excited. Call of DutyModern Warfare 2 was the last awesome Call of Duty game. That was 5 years ago. Then, that was completely wiped away by the utter catastrophe that Ghosts was. However, seeing the new footage for Advanced Warfare before the release got me pretty excited. Call of Duty was being taken in a whole new direction for the better. What does the fate of CoD look like now? Pretty damn positive, actually. And I'm a guy that's not even a fan of CoD. Let's start with the campaign, which pretty much means we're starting with the negative. Even with the new things brought to the table, such as the new innovative story with Kevin Spacey playing a role (HELLS YEAAAAHHH!!!) and new Exo abilities, the campaign trips and falls on its face. I found the story to be generic and nearly identical to other CoD storylines. The gameplay is probably the best of the CoD campaigns, but that isn't saying much. Even with Kevin Spacey playing a role, the campaign just doesn't hold up. These days, I don't even know WHY I play CoD campaigns anymore. The co-op mode is quite dull, too. Look, CoD developers: if you're not going to put in a Zombies mode, don't put in co-op at all (yes, I know they're putting in a Zombies DLC mode, and yes, I definitely want to play it, BUT IT PISSES ME OFF THAT IT'S DLC). Now, though, we get to the reason to really play this game: the multiplayer. Advanced Warfare's multiplayer is the best since MW2. With the new Exo suit abilities, the multiplayer gains a new verticality, similar to Titanfall. You can double jump to high places, and dash left or right or forward or backward to dodge your enemies. I loved these abilities, and it feels more fast-paced than ever in CoD. The gun selection is pretty good, but the perks are same-old, same-old. The game is actually a lot more addictive than past games because you always know there's something to unlock around the corner. The customizing of your own multiplayer character was presented in Ghosts, and it was pretty lame. Here, however, it's sick. For the most part, this game is fairly balanced, though CoD still has the tendency to piss me off. Advanced Warfare is a light in the tunnel for this fading franchise. Expand

I really am fed up of the titan fall comparisons though (btw I liked that game too as I gave it 9 out of 10) Just because they both include the ability to double jump it doesn’t mean that they are at all similar. The amount of options in AW is massive, you can really fine tune your classes and strategies down to a ridiculous degree and there are tons of combinations of gear and perks that allow you to cater to your own play style.

I have to Say I love the movement mechanics, the double jump is snappy and easy to use and the boosting is a gift from the gods in terms of twitch reaction shooting. I love to play aggressively with an SMG and the new movement mechanics really allow you to take an aggressive close quarters style of play to the next level.

Then there is the map design which is fantastic! The new verticality is integrated expertly in to the existing cod style of map design and adds a whole new dimension to proceedings whilst maintaining everything about classic cod map design that has worked for years. Also the verticality finally makes the distinction between assault rifles and Smgs feel far more pronounced. Gone are the days of players fighting over the only few spots on a map that provide good sightlines because there are now so many places for you to take advantage of the increased range of the assault rifles.

My point is that playing with an Smg feels completely different to playing with an assault rifle and the maps are able to incorporate different areas that cater to different weapons and play styles very effectively. Of course if you hate Cod this isn’t going to change your mind but if you loved cod but felt it was getting a bit stale this will reinvigorate the game for you. The best thing that can be said about it is that it incorporates everything that players love about the game whilst adding in a ton of extra features and tactical options due to great movement mechanics and excellent map design.

It doesn’t feel like any other game except cod. It still plays like cod. It still feels like cod, but, it has enough fresh elements to make it an extremely rewarding experience for the returning cod player.

I cant say it enough I **** love this game!!!! Titanfall was fun but lacked the depth to really keep me returning, AW adds new elements but retains the silky smooth fast paced cod style.

I guarantee I will still be playing this six months from now unlocking camos and challenges and still finding new combinations of weapons and equipment and different tactics to exploit.

10 out of 10 The memory of ghosts is already vanishing!!

Let's be honest here. All Activison really did was add Jet Packs and lazers. The story as usual really all that either. They saw how Titanfall got higher scores (even though Titanfall was disappointing) so took some of their mechanics. The physics are still bad. The only thing I like is the online, even though it's vey repetitive. So I give it a 6/10.

Like any other Call of Duty game, yes, it does feel like that same thing that we get year after year with not a lot of new things being brought to the table. The game does bring the use of the 'exo suits' in which give the game that feeling of Titanfall pilot play being able to double jump and turn invisible. At first the gun selection felt very weak, but once you realize that you earn different and better variations of each gun as you progress adds a new sense of accomplishment and loot. Other than the addition of the exo suits (which give you the ability to double jump, hover, and a number of other futuristic abilities) it really is the same old Call of Duty. The fact that they brought back my personally loved 'Infection' mode was a huge plus being it's been absent since Modern Warfare 3. I think most multiplayer fans will be happy since they have playlists to suit just about everyone's wants, plus it brings back the fun of custom emblems that I know I missed the most when Ghosts was launched. As far as the story goes, I can say this is the first campaign in the Call of Duty series that I got into really easily and I think it really is mostly because of the character they built for Kevin Spacey. It really does have the same linear missions that they always have been, but Spacey does bring that cinematic feel to it that makes it feel like something other than the same old predicable story lines these games have always been. In all; the game is what it is, just another entry in the Call of Duty lineup that will never end, but it did change it up enough from those before it to make it fun again without feeling like you are just playing the same game from last year. These games always lack real variety, but really, when all you are doing is: spawning, shooting, dying and repeating there isn't a lot of variety to be had but at least it's different enough from those before it that it does make it fun again. I know for a lot of people these games are guilty pleasures because you don't want people to know that all you do is play the same 8 maps over and over killing mouthy 12 year old boys, well, this latest entry really is guilty pleasure worth even though not a lot has really changed over the span of the past 5 entries. So, a hit in points because it's the same old thing, but still a high score for bringing future to the table without making it a 'Halo' game with spaceships, lasers and aliens... oh wait, they do have lasers. What most people need to understand is that it's not the game itself that makes the online play for most people enjoyable, but more the people playing it who take the time to find ways to exploit and even cheat by controlling your spawn points and camping them out; those people will always be around to ruin the fun of those that are just playing to have a good time. My second issue is the same that i had with ghosts: they might as well add only 2 weapon categories to this game's multiplayer: SMGs and Assault rifles. Why use a sniper when you will get blown away by an AR that has the same range, accuracy, and fires far faster. Why use a shotgun when your gonna get beaten 9/10 times by smg users that kill you up close. Why even include these specialized guns when more generic weapons are better in every way. Just about every player uses one of those two gun types (smg, ar) and the person who wins ALWAYS does. You might as well just save time and money by just including one gun called "generic rifle". Take out the titans and the maps from titanfall then dump a steaming pile of Activision's sh*t on It. that is what advanced warfare is. The only reason this game isn't 0 is because of it's innovative fish AI.

ok so this game is really not that good and i cant really find one pro with it so here are all my cons
    - story i mean this is awful all it is guy goes bad you then have to shoot all bad guys next big explosions then set off some type of nuke (DNA bomb) and thats it just paper thin plot with no depth
-game play know you may like the new double jump stuff but i hate, its really annoying and makes fire fights a lot more boring/longer i mean when you play MP and your with noobs and all they do is double jump around or double jump on to roofs makes for one boring MP worse in the seires
-co-op mode know i love my zombies mode from WAW and BO1 but they take survival mode from MW3 why its so boring then you have to beat 200 or 250 waves of that crap to unlock a 4 minute zombie wave which is really boring there more like muntants
but i could go on and on but i dont want to bore you with this boring game if you want a good cod to play go back to BO1 or before that thats when cod had its last glory days and for every one rating this game a ten WHAT ARE YOU ON?

This so-called "Call of Duty", It's pretty much same, like any other CoD franchise, but for some reason, Sledgehammer improve the game with Tom Cruise, Edge of Tommorow inspiration. The game multiplayer was sucks (because I hate PC gamers). The gameplay is still the same, the EXO suit was quite amazing, the story, SHORT... It's not the best FPS, but a good FPS...

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare does not suck like everyone says. It has some cool new elements and it suits the game but it still does feel like the other CoDs(only extra exos and jetpacks). Maps are pretty small when you can jump through everything. It's still a ok game but NOT WORTH 60$/€. I'd say buy it when on sale because you shouldn't pay that much for an ARCADE SHOOTER!!!

I was very surprised! Graphics were amazing, gameplay was solid, and the exo suits fit the game well. The worst part of the game was probably the sounds as the guns sounded the same as popcorn being microwaved. The story was good but not great and the multiplayer is AMAZING. Exo Survival is pointless and dull. Overall, definitely worth the price!

I feel this is a problem every year and even though its been improved a little, I always sometimes wondering how has that guy killed me even though I'm behind cover?! My only other fault is the frustration when you shoot someone first and then out of nowhere (No RKO pun intended) he just kills you. BS. Doesn't anyone remember those words for Black Ops 2 and Ghosts? COD 4 brought something completely new to the game industry and changed the entire feel of COD. Advanced Warfare however steals from Halo, Crysis, and a few others you can think of while not creatively changing the COD feel but rather preserving it and its outdated feel. They have taken the easy way yet again and didn't change much of what they didn't steal from other games.

The game is designed for new players and constantly offensive players. The latency, spawns, and endless flanks all narrow the skill gap, meaning performance is much less dependant on player skill. How can it be if any player can be instantly killed from even the most bad players, and excess flanks that create bad spawns allows for easy flanking from multiple paths, ensuring that no matter your skill level that you can still win by catching your opponents off guard a lot of the time, then getting flanked yourself by a bad nearby spawner. Then, spawn right around a corner from another player, attack from one of the many flanks, die by a flanker, repeat. There is no focus on 1 v 1 confrontations. It plays like an arena, with players taking turns flanking each other, which doesn't take much skill at all.

The game, from map design to weapons, perk system etc, is made for rushing flankers. Try another play style, and you'd be at a major disadvantage. The multiplayer is too fast paced and chaotic and doesn't support better standard paced strategies.

As a defensive kind of player who likes to see the outcome of most battles largely based on player skill ; not latency, spawns, flanks, etc, and demands complete changes to the feel of the game and not stolen ideas, I am once again disappointed.

So, with regard to the multi-player, this is great and a real positive change to anything in recent COD's. For a start the games runs smoothly and I have not experienced any lag or glitches. I haven't got through all the weapons yet, but so far the look and feel is good and shooting has quite a raw and realistic feel (compared to some other COD games). I wasn't sure before about the idea of all that jumping around, especially as I have already played a lot of Titanfall and was concerned it would be a bit 'samey'. That being said it works really well and adds a different dimension to the maps and how the game pays. Importantly, it seems to encourage movement and the only campers I came across were those I shot from above or landed behind :-)

So all in all a great game, which I will now buy my own copy of! Not sure if quite a 10, but given it full points to counter some of the trolls who seem to be scoring it a zero for no reason other than they are anti the COD franchise.

The campaign on Advanced Warfare is great compared to previous CoD games, if only for the fact that you can actually follow the story! Kevin Spacey is a great addition and although there’s no real surprises in the story it’s quite enjoyable to play through. In this franchise (and its competitors’) I don’t expect much from the single player modes, but this was a vast improvement.

The multiplayer modes are where these games make their money. AW doesn’t make the “huge leaps forward” that you may have read in some reviews, but it’s as good, if not a little better, as its previous versions. The loot system is a nice addition but it’s not quite right yet. There’s a lot of confusion as to why you receive the Supply Crates so there’s no way of encouraging more to come your way. Often when you do receive one it’s less than useless, but I like this idea. I’m keen to see how they develop it in future releases.

We lose a bit of the selection when it comes to the weapons, we gain a couple more game modes and the clan system. I’m not sure the clan thing really works but I can see this being improved shortly. The new “Uplink” mode is a lot of fun and adds a little more variety to the gameplay.

Overall, this is still a re-issue of the same old CoD format with the usual improvements here and there. Nothing positively or negatively shocking here, just another good CoD game.

Advanced Warfare is an average shooter. It sorta feels like COD, but it’s NOT the revolution Sledgehammer promised. AW believes it’s the lovechild of Black Ops 2 and Titanfall. The problem is both these games outclass AW in the very areas it tries to copy: map design and gameplay.

AW’s mechanics are clunky. Dodging requires precise timing, something casual players may not master. Other than double jumping, the exosuits are underwhelming. Exosuit dodging and boosting don’t work on inclines. Players simply bump into the floors and stop. Maps are full of ramps and stairs, so this is an inexplicable oversight. Melee is weak, awkward, and imprecise. Ledge grabbing doesn’t work well at all.

Map design is appalling. Despite the HUGE hype on verticality, players can only go so high. Trying to scale some buildings prompts an “Out of Bounds” message. WTF?! These are rather low buildings too. I’ve seen confused players jumping like crazy to access rooftops. If players can only access 50% of the roofs, why include them? It’s ludicrous to see “Out of Bounds” on the screen while exploring within the boundaries of the map.

The terrible map design doesn’t end there. Spawn camping is just too easy. A few hours after launch, I played several games where teams completely pinned their opponents in spawn. Players who managed to fight their way out of spawn were immediately sniped. Seeing that so soon shows how glaringly broken the maps are. Also, the small maps exacerbate the crappy spawns. Spawn deaths are more common than they ever were in Ghosts. Being caught in crossfire or being shot in the back is frustratingly common after spawning. Players often spawn directly in front of the opponent who just killed them (dying again immediately) or by objectives being capped.

The perk 13 system has been shamelessly ripped from Blops 2. Sledgehammer doesn’t hide this fact. I’m not upset it’s there, but the lack of innovation is surprising. With such low effort put into class creation, why wasn’t more effort been put into map design? Except for the exosuit abilities, we’ve seen all the perks before. Many powerful perks and weapons are unlocked early, reducing the incentive to rank up. Exosuit abilities are OK, but they’re weak. The health boost perk has little impact because players die insanely quick. The stim perk hardly enhances player movement. The shield is weak and doesn’t activate 50% of the time. Perks can only be used briefly. So no spamming. Unfortunately, their implementation is vastly inferior to other games.

Ghosts rightly nerfed scorestreaks shifting COD back to a gun-vs-gun emphasis. In AW, campers can earn overpowered scorestreaks once again. So embrace UAV and system hack spamming. Giant lasers anyone? Sheesh.

Advanced Warfare has markedly reduced weapon variety compared to previous COD entries. For example, there are 12 total AR’s and SMG’s in AW. Ghosts had 14, and Blops 2 had 15. See the trend? AW offsets this with supply drops. These are random unlocks that give players access to altered weapons, perks, and customization items. But these are based on time played and completing achievements. Casual players need not apply since most will not have the skill nor time requirements to benefit fully from this system. Overall, weapon balance is awful with only a 4 or 5 guns being practical choices. More weapons could be viable if AW didn’t have such horrific hit detection, which is undeniably the worst of any COD game.

Dedicated servers? Sledgehammer said AW will “support” them, but never confirmed if any of the platforms would actually have them. When asked about this on reddit after launch, developers didn't respond. Hype? Intentionally misleading? AW's terrible matchmaking service holds nextgen back and takes advantage of fans.

Graphically the game is jarring on next gen. Although colors are crisp and vibrant, textures are flat and there is a complete lack of depth. The environments are sterile and boring. Special effects are also glaringly absent. AW truly looks like Blops 2. That was OK on 360, but it’s not good enough for Xbox One. Ironically, loading times are really long. Furthermore, AW is buggy which is frustrating since AW was in development 3 years by 2 separate companies—Sledgehammer outsourced current gen to a different developer.

Fortunately, fan favorite game modes are back. And there is a classic mode that removes exosuit movement. So what about the campaign? It’s the same scripted, corridor affair gamers expect from COD.

AW will succeed because the majority of COD fans hate Ghosts. But AW will alienate hardcore fans while being inaccessible to casuals. Sledgehammer played it too safe and lazy. Legacy problems still exist, such as broken spawns, poor hit detection, overpowered scorestreaks, and bargain bin matchmaking. Since such problems linger, the exosuit is really a gimmick to mask the glaring imperfections of the series. Sledgehammer did nothing more than put lipstick on a pig.

Oh yea, it's got that, and a bunch of other things we've come to know and love from COD. Inconsistent hit counters, lag compensation, best increase your latency for a better gaming experience. Oh, the best part, it's still only 12 players per game. I guess that's what your stuck with when you won't pony up $$$ to host servers so everyone can have equal network access. I'd call it a pos, but I don't think that's near harsh enough. Another $60 wasted in high hopes of a good game. Drive things like tanks/choppers/vehicles??? Not in call of duty!!! There's no need to make a shooter that you can do anything besides run around and shoot people. That doesn't get old at all... Snipe? Sure you can snipe when the entire map is the size of a football field. The fact that the game play has been EXACTLY the same for nearly 5 yrs means I should spend $60 for **** weapons, inconsistent kills, and well... I still can only hear like one other person in game chat sometimes. Bugs??? Oh yea, they've got'em. How bout standing on top of a building shooting a guy down below that doesn't see you. wait! he saw me now and can one shot me with an assault rifle or a pistol from 1/2 the map away. Bang up job COD!!! Yes, other games do have bugs, but they are far from being the same exact garbage every single new release. And they actually fix them. It's not like you had a year to plan this out. Did you? I think the best part of this game is the trailer, everything else is standard COD.
    Summary:
only 12 players in games - still...
    inconsistent hit counters
LAG - which can't be helped when you don't have individual server hosting. Seriously?
    game chat issues
    party chat issues
When moving too fast console can't process what's going on fast enough, so your going to die basically, even if you start shooting the person 2 sec before they see you. (yes, we've duplicated it.) as example, shooting a guy in the back with 1/2 a clip of hit markers flying everywhere, they turn around and 1 shot you with a pistol.

Never in my life did I struggle or get so mad in multiplayer due to cheap kills and unexplained deaths. The exo suits are a good addition to the game but can really make situations frustrating if your on the other end of someones muzzle. The three first assault rifles are extremely hard to handle for some odd reason and with that said, you can NOT play multiplayer effectively if you don't have the quickdraw attachment for your weapon. If you use an assault rifle, you'll almost always end up at a disadvantage in a one on one fight. It just feels like I can't even play just to have fun anymore. I'm always getting frustrated and it's more of a stressful game than anything. I actually regret buying it. Expand

For a game three years in development you would think Sledgehammer would have nailed the MP .... nope ... think again. The weapon selection should have simply been replaced with 50 different version of the op BAL .... because its the only gun anyone ever uses. The maps are to small to handle the speed of exo movement and are aided in their rage inducement by a broken spawn system .... love getting shot in the back over and over again ? Buy CoD : AW.

I tried to love it. I really did. The core gameplay is fun but the games problems simply smother the enjoyment with a red miasma of disbelieving rage. This game behaves worse than Bf4 on crystal meth. In other words : give it a miss...

I mainly play COD for multiplayer and still spend a decent amount of time playing Black Ops 2 (where I have a 2.5KDR after almost 80,000 kills) - so it really pains me to only give Advanced Warfare a 4/10.

The thing is the game *could* be brilliant. But in it's current form it's simply frustrating to try and play. Why? The main issue is the horrendous netcode. I know that Black Ops 2 sometimes has strange things going on with lag compensation, but Advanced Warfare takes it to a whole new level of being broken.

I've lost track of the number of games I've played now where the people who are dominating have 1 red bar and everyone else has a 'perfect' connection. The time to kill is stupidly low - you will frequently take 2 random shots from some guy lagging across the map and die without even seeing them. Or you try and 1v1 someone and empty a whole clip into them (hearing all the hit markers go off) only for them to somehow kill you and if you watch the kill cam you haven't hit them at all. There's other times when empty a whole clip at someone who is running or boost dodging in front of you and hit nothing but air despite what seems like perfect aim.

I think the real problem behind Advanced Warfare is that the gameplay is designed to be too quick for what the netcode in it's current form can handle. It's amusing to watch people jumping and boosting in stutters when you can tell it's meant to be fluid motion.

I'm holding out hope that Activision will actually honour their promise of dedicated servers and hopefully Sledgehammer will fix the netcode, or else I think a lot of people will be abandoning this ship soon.

The game itself kinda feels like Titanfall at times because of the similarities. You know, exo suits, jetpacks, etc. I would give it a better rating if the multiplayer and originality were a bit better. Overall

A cinematic summer blockbuster spectacular delivered in videogame form. Call of Duty Advance Warfare advances the action of the game just enough to inject something new and fun while still maintaining the familiarity of the Call of Duty franchise.

    WHAT THE GAME DOES WELL
COD has always done a nice job of making fast paced video game action feel so gritty and realistic (Says the man whom the closest I ever came to a battlefield was one of those boring Civil War reenactments my Dad made me go to). Even in the parts of the game where you are essentially battling as or against a killer robot it maintains a certain level of realism, as weird as that sounds.

My favorite parts of the game is when you get to play with the futuristic technology that we imagine militaries possessing someday. There really is no feeling quite like the one when you are operating weapons that will one day be designed by the brightest minds in the scientific field for the sole purpose of making it easier to kill more people faster. It does kind of make you think we are heading for a bleak and depressing future, but meanwhile in the present it makes for one hell of a video game!

Best looking game I’ve played so far on Xbox One. The motion capture looks awesome and if they could only make the facial expressions feel a little less stiff, it would look pretty close to the real deal. I also know that this statement will make me look stupid in not too many years from now as the graphics keep improving to the point where we will basically be looking at a real human someday.

Advanced warfare is another great example of where it is better to have the campaign be short and compelling rather than adding in hours of filler gameplay just for the sake of getting a longer game. Each of Advance Warfare’s level are well thought out and add something to a very enjoyable and exciting action movie-esque story.

WHAT THE GAME DOES EVEN BETTER
Kevin Spacey is an American Treasure that gives a great performance in this game solely because he is incapable of not giving great performances. He is very much prone to overacting (which is pretty much the only kind of acting he does these days), but Kevin Spacey overacting is still an achievement that must be experienced at all times and in all forms. I want to see him continue to be motioned captured into even more video games, even when it doesn’t make sense.

WHAT THE GAME COULD HAVE IMPROVED
I was kind of hoping for better and more exciting gameplay. By no means is the gameplay dull or limited, but Titanfall has just done the futuristic warfare angle better so far. Titanfall made me feel more like an innovative and unstoppable killing machine then I got from this game. COD will just have to settle for second place this year in that specific category.

Call Of Duty multiplayer and I just do not get along. I’m not that good at multiplayer in general, as I would describe my overall ability as “average.” With COD though I would say my abilities would be better classified as “I suck.” It seems like whenever I start playing it usually ends with people I don’t know complaining about how I’m repeatedly holding the team back. Since I don’t (usually) like getting ridiculed by strangers on-line, I don’t end up getting that much replay value with COD games.

    OVERALL
As someone that pretty much plays Call of Duty for the campaign and just dabbles with the multiplayer I’m not really getting into the full Advance Warfare experience. However, just the campaign is enough reason to play the game, because even though it is short, it is still very well done. I ended up playing through the campaign twice, so even without getting into multiplayer I still feel like I got my money’s worth.

The campaign has a decent story and Kevin Spacey is a definite plus, especially for House of Cards fans, but while the story was interesting its still the basic Call of Duty "bad guy taking over the world" theme and the general gameplay is still "shoot all the enemies to beat the level".

The multiplayer experience is absolutely awful. They are still using p2p instead of dedicated servers so the lag compensation gives certain players a huge advantage.

The only new thing to multiplayer is the "exo suit" which acts like a jet pack. This is cool for about 5 minutes and then gets annoying. It again makes strategic game play impossible. People can get across the map very quickly so spawn killing is pretty common. It also makes it impossible to play stealthy and flank the enemy since people just fly across the map.

The maps are way too complex making it impossible for any kind of strategic gameplay as even very good players will often get killed by some random enemy popping up behind them. The maps also make it difficult to do anything other than run and gun and as a result games are hectic with most K/D ratios being close to 1:1.

The perks and killsteaks are basically all the same, except there are not really any good offensive killstreaks. You can now modify killstreaks, for example you can add a scrambler ability to the UAV in exchange for requiring more points to unlock it, this is a cool feature but its defeated by the uselessness of of most of the killlstreaks.

Overall, I wish I had bought the disk version so I could sell this game. I'd much rather stick with Ghosts. If you like fast paced run and gun 1:1 K/D ratio gameplay, then you will probably like this game, but if you like to use more realistic strategies or stealth and don't like being shot trough walls because of lag compensation, you will be wasting your money. All you get that's new is a jet pack, awful maps, and tons of lag. I haven't been this disappointed in a game purchase in a long time.

A lot of us have been looking forward to a new COD that's a lot like COD4 and WAW etc., including myself. Wasn't really looking forward to another futuristic shooter to be honest.

To start things off, once you get this bad boy installed, you will get a personal thank you from Sledgehammer Games. The campaign is awesome and the multiplayer is a down right blast! Multiplayer will seem crazy, different and very hectic at first, but you'll get used to it quickly. Once one gets used to the exo abilities, wild map designs and the verticality of the game, you won't want to put the controller down. Even though the game is set in the future, the COD feel is for sure still there and it's not too futuristic either. Paintball mode makes it easy to track your shots and is definitely a very cool option to the game. There are some really fun new game modes like Uplink, which is pretty much like capture the flag, but instead of a flag, you carry and can even pass a small spherical satellite that needs to be brought to the upload site in order to gain team scores. There's also classic mode which takes away the exo abilities for that old school type gameplay if it's desired. Excellent balance of weapon types, perks and score steaks. At first it may be tough obtaining the score streak rewards, but they come easier as you start to master your classes and play style.

I have enjoyed the COD's of the past, especially COD4 and WAW. Black Ops and yes even Ghosts were fun too, but this may now be the "King of The Hill" by a long shot. Even though I enjoyed the past COD's, it's been a long time since I've had that "itch" to play and play again. If you liked COD in the past and are looking for a fresh twist of things, this is your game. Once again, the game will take some getting used to and sometimes it's hard to accept change, but just strap in and hold on tight because you have a wild ride in store for yourself.

Thank you Sledgehammer Games for bringing us this masterpiece and revitalizing the COD franchise. You hit it out of the park and I'm so glad to have the desire to play COD again. I sure hope Treyarch is working extremely hard on next years COD because they've got their work cut out for them now. As much as I would like to see a new COD4, it's going to be very hard to go back to a "slower" type of gameplay now!

The single player campaign was a good time, Although I actually found the storey just average, with some occasional eye rolling motion capture acting and bad lines. The action of the campaign made up for it. Some of the missions were significant fun and varied. I could tell that they were trying hard to make a good single player experience. I would have preferred to have a bit more freedom on some of the levels. I also enjoyed the new features provided by the exo suit.

In multi-player, the exo suit does change a lot, I found the game significantly faster. I found the speed of play and movement made this game much more difficult than previous version incarnations to maintain a decent k/d ratio. Not only is it faster but you and other players have significantly more movement options and now also have worry about the vertical plane with people bouncing across rooftops as well as on the ground. The multi-player is fast and fun but takes some time to get used to the new additions. I like the pick 13 system for the create a class. The map design is great. I like all of the maps and each map have some great features and are fun to move around in.

They should have kept "Squads" from Ghosts. The one major thing COD: Ghosts did correctly was Squads. It was a good place for new players, Much better then the Combat readiness program in this game, as new players in ghosts could select the type of play they wanted and use their normal load outs from multi-player as well as continue to earn exp for their playtime. Squads also had a Horde mode called Safeguard that is the same as the Exo-survival mode in Advanced warfare but allowed up to Six players and not just four, The squads version also allowed you to earn exp for your normal multiplayer character. I play a lot of split screen with my wife and kids, With ghosts they really enjoys the squad mode as they were able to earn Exp and build a character in a multiplayer online co-op mode. In Advanced warfare, you get the horde mode with fewer options as well as the combat readiness program, that seems like a waste of time as neither count towards a character. It seems odd that Activision would take these features away.

Lack of Special play mode with basic game. Previous versions have had a special mode, like Zombies or Extinction. This game does not have one of these modes. Although I have heard it will be available as dlc it unlike previous versions doesn't come with the original game.

Although a lot of fun, with some really good steps forward, Advanced warfare seems to also take away the little extra value that other editions seems to provide so it can sell it to you as dlc latter. This is a trend that many games have unfortunately.

I still will give this game an 8 out of ten due to how much fun it is to play, Could it be better, yes. Could the story be better, yes. Could the acting be better, yes. Could they have added in more extras that previous versions of COD have had, yes. And they should have done all of these things but the end result is the game is still a lot of fun to play. It is different enough that if you are a arcade shooter fan, I would recommend getting this game. The map designs are also really really good. The graphic are also extremely good.

I didn't think I would like it at first but they managed to incorporate it seamlessly into the game and it hasn't bothered me at all. Also there are a few "powers" such as cloaking, shielding, and faster health regeneration. These additions are fine and may add a little to the game, and the graphics are improved, however, not enough has changed/improved to make me spend another year playing this game. It's just the same old thing. Some same negatives still exist as well - poor spawning, phantom hit markers, nonsense quick scoping, annoying children (and adults for that matter...). These thing being said, I could probably still allow myself to get sucked into playing this non-stop for the next year - I have (much to the disgust of many gaming "elitists") played COD rather religiously since the first Modern Warfare and have had my share of fun - and probably could still have some with this. So I still give this game a 7-7.5 as the potential is still there for some addictive multiplayer action. But I for one have burned out on COD. It is time for something new. So just be forewarned - nothing revolutionary here.

Loved the campaign and thought it provided exactly the kind of narrative that the series needed. While the multiplayer may be considered the same old, the new mechanics have made this a great game to get into.

I'm going to be fair and give it an 8. Its insanely fun on Xbox One. Also I haven't bought a CoD game at launch since MW2 and the newest one I've played is Black Ops, so its been a while. It feels fresh because I dont' buy the game every year. I haven't finished the campaign, but to me, its just a weapons and controls demo to get you used to things before jumping into multiplayer. Its too restrictive and linear. You have to stay on the path. For some reason, the HUD on your gun that tells you how much ammo you have isn't in multiplayer, which is wierd because its pretty cool, especially since I'm a Halo fan.

For multiplayer, I have to say its the second most fun Call of Duty game ever made. You can jump really high and the maps are designed around that. The level design is colorful, modern and excellent. I see some instant classics already. They're all small maps, which is what CoD is good at - arena style infantry combat. The perks are good and balanced. The weapons are also balanced, however, there aren't nearly as many to choose from like previous games. This is the first CoD game that has no noob tube problem. I have not once been hit with a grenade launcher. Sniping is quickscope only - bummer. Also the hit markers are too friendly. In Battlefield you actually have to hit the guy to kill him. It seems in this game as long as the gun is pointed in their general direction, its good enough. The game modes are mostly there. I miss demolition, but Search and Rescue is where I'm always at. Unlike Search and Destroy, you get a second chance if a teammate claims your dog tag before they do. The real reason I bought this game is because I bought BF4 recently and since the game has been out a year, everyone has leveled up and I'm going up against them. I'm good at Battlefield, but I never stood a chance. So I bought the new Call of Duty game and love it. Its fun, addicting and I can't stop playing it. Nothing will beat MW2's multiplayer in my opinion. It took CoD 4 and built so much on top of it. So many guns, maps, perks, killstreaks, and combos. Advanced Warfare might be better. Only time will tell. So far there's less BS such as one man army noob tubers and people boosting for nukes (I did that. It was more fun than playing because you had to find a secret spot on the map). As far as the maps go, there's not much secret spots. High Rise was really good about this, but with the way you can move, the maps work very well with your new abilities. However we need more vertical maps. This game's gameplay demands it.
Advanced Warfare has the level design mix between Halo and Star Wars Battlefront in terms of design, Titanfall's maneuvering/ jumping abilities, Halo's duel wielding and armor abilities, and of course the Call of Duty gameplay. To me it feels like Black Ops. They even have the emblem maker. SMGs and carbines rule the maps. LMGs will get you killed. This is the most fast-paced shooter ever. Its CoD on adderall. Is it worth the money? Yes. I haven't had this much fun since MW2. Sorry if this review sounds wierd. Its 2 in the morning and I'm just rambling. To me this is a fair review. Its not original in any way. In fact they stole a lot of stuff and ideas from other games, but its FUN! and thats what matters the most.

Campaign mode offers crisp graphical experience. You're basically a mercenary contractor.

Survival mode pits you against waves of combatants in round based combat. You have 2 machines to upgrade skills between levels.

If you get the ATLAS PRO EDITION, you receive some neat items to show off with. The real value is the Season Pass!

For the campaign, you can expect the usual scripted sequences of combat that attempt to act like a Michael Bay movie with a bit more heart. At times, Advanced Warfare pulls it off and the progression of the story comes off more thought out than CoD has been in the past. Other times it's nothing overly exciting or new, but at least it's not the disappointment that Ghosts was in 2013. Kevin Spacey is excellent but unfortunately the story and dialogue don't always allow him to shine as bright as he could and should have. In the end, I put up about 10 hours or so into the campaign on the Hardened difficulty and didn't feel like I wasted my time. As for the multiplayer, that's another story. The bread and butter of re-playability for this game is at times completely broken. First time developer Sledgehammer Games, who had only done some DLC content for Modern Warfare 3 in the past, attempt to play with the CoD formula and make the game feel a bit more modern and fresh. Very seldom does it feel like they succeeded. Maps are uninspiring and the lack of dedicated server AGAIN ruin the connectivity portion of this game. Using the exosuit for avoidance is borderline useless because your reactions might be fast enough, but the network latency isn't and as a result your attempts to survive end in tears. It's a major pitfall for CoD, the only major shooter launched regularly that has avoided the superior networking path to this day. Dedicated servers are supposedly in the works but are not available in the first weeks of the game and not every platform will get them (major bummer for some). Gametypes are largely carry-over from previous CoD games and it makes everything feel dated and overly familiar even with the changes made. Scorestreaks are impressive in some ways, especially in customization and add-on capabilities, but again too much carry-over leaves the once-bright-spot of CoD as nothing more than a flicker. As for the cooperative Exo Survival, it's Modern Warfare 3's survival mode rehashed. It's neither good nor bad and is probably the best challenge you'll get without being competitive against other players. The problem is that we've seen this done time and time again through other franchises (Halo, Gears of War, earlier CoD games) that the inclusion of this portion of AW feels like a last-minute add-on. It uses all of the same maps as the traditional matchmaking playlists and limits you to a four-player squad.

Overall, Advanced Warfare is a fairly decent game, but Call of Duty veterans will absolutely find the "been there, done that" catchphrase to be exceedingly true yet again. Advanced Warfare was supposed to be the mold-breaker that put CoD back into favorable territory for gamers, not just critics, but instead feels like a good idea that wasn't fully executed. If you haven't played CoD much in the past, this will be a good game all around for you. As for me, I've played every CoD title since Call of Duty 2. Modern Warfare 2 and the first Black Ops seem to be the last days of glory for this franchise that has since fumbled a bit more with each game launch. At least Sledgehammer tried to do something to make it fun again, that counts for something. Perhaps it's time for Activision to realize they've beat a dead cow and let CoD have a long time out before coming back in the future.

You will die from people that shoot you before you could even see them, you will get killed after you have gone behind cover, you will put multiple bullets into your target and see on the replay that none of those hits registered because you were already dead. You will be put into games where you will have no chance of winning a 1v1 gun battle with anyone half-competent at online shooters. To be fair, there will also sometimes be games where you have a decent connection and you are the one with the unfair advantage, but who wants to play like this, where skill is made irrelevant by the horrible matchmaking and lag compensation? Besides, the bad experiences stick out in your mind much more than the good, if anything the good experiences highlight just how badly you are being cheated. We tend to remember the bad experiences more than the good, and when the bad experiences make you want to fly your xbox out the window, well there's something wrong with that.
Honestly, if the connection issues weren't present this would be a great game but the same could be said of all the COD's since MW2. In the past, these issues could be overlooked because there wasn't any decent alternative. But Titanfall, Battlefield 4, and Destiny are 3 games that deliver a much more consistent experience. I'm not saying there isn't any lag present in those games, because any online game will have some lag but they have managed to keep it at a very playable level.
I'm hopeful that with an update they can improve the connection issues, but these problems have been persistent for years so I'm not holding my breath. But if enough people decide that they've had enough, maybe Activision will finally fix the problem. This game could easily be a "9" if the lag issues didn't ruin the experience but unfortunately, in its present state, it's a "3".

What I hate is that the franchise has moved so far from its roots in an attempt to stay modern and appealing, that it has become an unbalanced, unpolished, complete piece of **** And it saddens me. I'm less pissed about losing that $60 than I am about not having a fun call of duty to play. I thought for sure after the fiasco that ghosts was, the next cod would re-embrace the things that made it such a good multiplayer shooter in the first place. Nope. Other people have spelled out why this game is terrible in terms of balance and connection and whatnot, and I won't rehash those points, as valid as they are, for the thing that bothers me the most is just how far from fun it is now.

Well, 50% of the time I'm dead within 5 seconds of my f***ing spawn due to some degenerate nerd hiding in the corner or spawning behind me AFTER I HAVE JUST SPAWNED!! The aiming is catered for noobs, I've lost count of the amount of times I have been sprayed across the map by an assault rifle with not one touch of recoil hahahahahahha, may as well be playing against 6 people using aimbots. Everyone f***ing jumps around like super mutant kangaroos with ADHD on steroids LOL!!!!! There are about 20 guns in the game, which is disgustingly pathetic and lazy, especially when compared to the amount on offer in Battlefield 4, and 80% of the guns are absolute s***. The graphics are just unacceptable for next gen, especially when compared to BF4, Destiny and Killzone. The maps are absolute garbage, everyone sits hiding on roofs and head glitching. The melee bulls*** is laughable it's that bad, one punch and your soldier is f***ing dead, ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? So instead of using your gun TO SHOOT PEOPLE WITH, it's more effective to punch a soldier??? BAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAA, oh my f***ing word!!!!! So take all of these problems and then throw in the state of the CoD community (70% 14 year olds or younger, then the majority of the rest are obese nerds). All of this coming from someone who used to love CoD games, but now it's nothing but a disgusting, embarrassment of a community and a plethora of problems. I really am baffled as to how CoD has gotten this bad.

So to sum up, this game is a steaming pile of horse S*** 0/10. Thanks for reading.

Point blank, more horrible than ghosts. The exo suits make the multiplayer god awful and the guns all seem to fire air instead of bullets. The story is bland and nothing jaw dropping and the exo survival mode is just as horrible and boring as you remember from MW3. The game connects so poorly it boggles the mind. Lag compensation is back and worse than ever. If you have a solid, four bar connection be prepared to have a nice smooth experience where none of your bullets ever land and you die amazingly quick. To people with three and two bars. If someone has one bar, run for the hills. Just about every game I've seen, people with two bars will be at the top of the leaderboard going 30-5 with impunity.

Graphics are what you'd expect. The maps look like they were made with absolutely no forethought. They have numerous routes and levels. Something that looks like you should be able to jump to is out of bounds. Often causing you to fall out of bounds and die.

There are NO enemy sounds whatsoever. Someone can double jump above you and run a marathon behind you, and you won't hear a sound. EVER.

The game was made for the guy that doesn't have sound. Doesn't have a quality connection. And made for him to succeed.

I don't know why they decided to do a Halo and Titanfall type game, and do so incredibly badly.

Because the game has been out so long and is made year after year, this mess of a multiplayer game should receive a ZERO. But the five or six hour campaign (for me, on hardened) was decent.

It's chaotic and much too fast paced, with all of the maps made for rushing flankers and no hope for defensive play styles again. The horrible latency, spawns, and dozens of flanks from Ghosts are back intentionally to help out noobs and narrow the skill gap, ensuring noobs could spawn near a good player, flank from any direction, and even if they saw them coming, they'd be instantaneously killed. Not to mention the fact that there are only THREE (3) shotguns, all of which suck, and 5 lmgs, of which 4 suck. Compare that to the 30+ assault rifles and smgs. Way to go, MLGaymers and eDorks.

I wanted to see if there was physics/controls/graphics improvements that would allow me to get back into paying MP on a console. After my first 4 hours of MP I think we have a winner. But here's how I play:

    1) Only Hardcore
    2) Only Objective/team based play
    3) Usually with all players muted
    4) I play to win, not for KD

I play my way, and that involves attacking and defending objectives. Being as tactical as possible to help my team, knowing that I'll still get shot in the back regularly, and killed by those who are faster/twitchier than I.

And you know what, I'm having a blast doing it. It has met or exceeded my expectations. I wish the maps were bigger and had less choke points - but otherwise I am very happy. The controller feels great too. Better than PS4 or 360, but still pales in comparison to a keyboard and mouse.

Sure there might be a handful here and there, perhaps parents picking the game up for their kids or individuals getting it for their significant others, but the vast majority of players who go out and get a Call of Duty game know exactly what they're getting.

Call of Duty is nothing if not predictably stagnant when it comes to over the top cinematic single player experiences and a multiplayer suite that hasn't substantially changed for the better part of a decade. All you have to know when deciding whether or not to buy a CoD game is to determine whether or not the core mechanics of the franchise are worth dropping $60 on every year. It is entirely up to you.

If you're a fan of the series and said mechanics then this game is probably an 8. If you were once a fan of the series but found that you lost your appetite for it once it became stale then it's probably more akin to a 4. If you find the lack of gameplay advancement repugnant, as many do, then you will absolutely hate it and no doubt join the masses of haters who rate the game with a 0. This naturally begs the question of why you would buy a game you know you're going to hate, but I guess some people get off on that kind of thing.

Tossing the irrational "zero" scores out, lets split the difference on the assumption that you know what you're getting when you buy this game and call it a 6. Buy the ticket take the ride, or don't. It's entirely up to you.

Following the disappointing Ghosts, Advanced Warfare marks a return to form for the Call of Duty series.

Campaign - While the majority of my time thus far has been spent in mult-iplayer, what I have played from the campaign has been enjoyable, and a clear step up from recent COD titles.
The game looks gorgeous visually, and the character performances allow you to become immersed in what has been, for the first few hours, a coherent narrative. The "Advanced Warfare" also helps keep missions fresh, providing new toys to play with and experiences that aren't exactly identical to previous COD's. The only issue I've had thus far is with the quick time events. The prompts are so small you can miss them if you are drawn in to the action around you, which causes you to replay a section.

Multiplayer - Fortunately this game builds off the multi-player from Black Ops2 and acts as if Ghosts never existed. This means the game has went back to the more traditional and addictive ways of unlocking items and completing challenges.
Some new features include the ability to modify score-streaks, a pick 13 system (instead of 10) and supply drops. The supply drops could have been an issue, since they are random, if it was the only way to unlock equipment, but instead they just add to the experience since they provide new apparel and modified versions of weapons that you can receive simply be leveling up.
The game also returns old modes while providing new as well, Uplink. Really there is something for everyone. Don't like the exo-suit? There is a classic playlist that allows you to play without it. However, that may be a mistake since the suit does open the game up and changes the dynamic of the entire experience. It provides a sense of experimentation and wonderment that has largely been absent from the series since the initial Modern Warfare.
The main negative at the moment has been lag and connectivity issues. This can be a major problem in a game like this, but it also is the first week, so such issues are not unexpected. It is worth monitoring how this is addressed or if it stabilizes here in the near future.

COD may not be the thinking-man's tactical first-person-shooter, but what Advanced Warfare does is bring the fun back to the series. And really, isn't that what you are looking for when you purchase and play a Call of Duty title?

The problem is that doing this right from the start, as is the case with CoD Advanced Warfare, actually has detrimental gameplay effects.

The initial cut scene on the marine landing ship is gorgeous. The subsequent drop pod sequence is atrocious. In a first person shooter, the first action I perform is a quick time event. Followed by another quick time event. More than 10 minutes pass before I fire my gun in anger.

The first level barely teaches me the basics of the new elements (smart grenades, jump suit etc.) - instead it bombards me with more visuals and explosions OMG WATCH OUT moments than you can throw a stick at. By the time I get to the tutorial (the shooting range) I was already forced to learn everything the hard way (which is pausing the game and looking at button mappings).

It's not that I need the game to hold my hand. But I would like to know how to get the most out of the game BEFORE I get thrown into the deep end. I don't want to be figure out gameplay mechanics which can help me be awesome in the game, 2 levels from finishing it.

I have no idea why review sites continue to rank this game so high. Advanced Warfare has done nothing to drive the franchise or even the genre forward. It looks prettier than the last few CoD games, but that's not hard with new consoles and a new engine.

It is still the same bland story, as well as horrible game and level design which is overshadowed by set piece moments and WOW elements. If that is your thing, go for it. If you prefer to just shoot stuff - Destiny and Titanfall have that covered.

This game deserves a 5 at best, but I will give it a zero to combat all the fanboys. You must be out of your mind to give this game a 10, or 12 years old.

This game has almost no positives. The only positive I can think of is Kevin Spacey. Without him, this game truly would be a zero. The graphics on next gen are great. Multiplayer still has the same issues. I get 10 hit markers, but

Multiplayer still has the same issues. I get 10 hit markers, but the guy doesn't die. I die after two shots. Spawn kills are out of control. I have at least 100 spawn deaths since 11/3. Spawn, someone behind me, I die.

There is nothing new to this game except guns and maps, and the AWFUL boost jump, which ruins gameplay. THIS ISN'T TITANFALL, but Sledgehammer sure did their best to copy it. At least Titanfall remains playable.

All in all 4/10. Same CoD. Same angry children who don't deserve an Xbox One. Same old crap. Don't listen to the fanboys and don't spend $60 on this trash

Edit/Update: Another day in and still the same garbage. 10 hit markers on a guy, yet I die in two shots. The multiplayer maps are way too wide open. Spawn kills are getting even worse. Literally spawned when a teammate was running by with a guy chasing him and died instantly. Spawned, started running and got shot in the back isntanteously. Multiplayer is utter garbage in this game. Even Ghosts was better.

Part 2: Finally experienced all the multiplayer maps. Outside of the campaign, which I just beat on veteran, the game just isn't fun. Spawning and getting instantly killed more than 20% of the time, a nd going negative almost every game because of that fact is rediculous. Shooting someone first and shooting them more, getting killed. It's just not fun. The game is not fun. After two days, I will be returning this piece of garbage. Do not waste your time. And do not waste your money.

Another over hyped game by the critics. We all know they're on the take so really I should skip this rant and go to the review.

POS!! Thats the outcome of hours logged in playing this garbage of a game. It's poorly executed, full of errors (here's one...Error setting persistent data: Given int value is too large in a byte; see console.), single player game is alright, multiplayer game

It's poorly executed, full of errors (here's one...Error setting persistent data: Given int value is too large in a byte; see console.), single player game is alright, multiplayer game (reason I bought it) SUCKS!!! Well, if your host or bad connection then of course you get a bonus but usually, LAG LAG LAG LAG LAG LAG.

Look, fanbois will bleed COD and pump this POS up just to keep this dead franchise alive but in all honesty, Modern Warfare was the end of this franchise....everything else after is just garbage built upon the same ol same ol

Do yourself a favor....if you need to play it, by all means do Gamefly...because in the end, you'll have 60 bucks minus the fees for gamefly to use on other games HOPEFULLY that will be better.

In the end, console games suck and are dead due to untalented people now running these disasters of game companies. Let them all rot, wait 5 years and you'll get some good games after that....weed out all the trash.

I gave this game a one mainly because of these reasons...
    1. The Lag
    2. The spawns
    3. The Speed reloading being broken
4.No good semi auto pistols! (I love going pistol only)
    5. So hard to go on kill/score streaks
    6. Score streaks aren't worth what they cost.
    7. This game doesn't feel like a Call of Duty Game.

What can I say? is the same crap since modern warfare, same repetitive boring gameplay with the same generic enemies as soldiers is no different in any way and the story is the same monotone argument, you know the US has to save the world form some dudes trying to take over yadyadayada.
Oh, but wait, the multiplayer!, sorry still the same.
Activision really outdid themselves, I mean

Activision really outdid themselves, I mean publishing the same game for 8+ years was to be worth something right?
On second thought I don't think so, they only proved that CoD series is the most repetitive, bland and unispirig thing in the gaming industry.

Why are critics raving about this game. Yes COD has fallen a little short in the past years in sight of Infinity Ward falling apart, but this new edition is not a step up. This isn't COD, it's Titanfall without titans. If we're looking at the campaign then I have no input nor criticism, because when has COD been about the single player campaign. Ghosts gets crapped on by reviewers because it had a stupid premise to the story but all in all it had a much better multiplayer experience than this title. Yeah Ghosts wasn't the best COD game, but neither is this. It's sad that with this game getting so much praise we will have to say goodbye to the sub-genre of fps game that the Modern Warfare series created and have this space age Halo/COD mix become the new thing that everyone wants to try. Our only hope is that Treyarch can pull another beauty like Black Ops 2. Stay to your roots COD, we don't want another Titanfall/Destiny. We already have those, and they're doing it a lot better than you. Expand

Best Call of Duty in years so fun infected is a lot more action packed actually the game is action packed it self and graphics are better guns are cooler camos are a lot more awesome looking. My only problem is the Co-op right now but I feel it is going to get a lot better with the DLCs and the zombie DLC(s). My conclusion BEST GAME EVER

Total crap compared to PS4, which is not much better. I think the problem is they gave the game to a new studio and they really are just learning how to make this type of game. Just wondering if people will have the patience to wait for Treyarch's version..then who knows by the point. If you play Call Of Duty online all year round then Christmas has officially come early. But if you’re a sucker for the ludicrous, globe-trotting, re-skinned James Bond adventures that constitute these games in single player, you’ve picked the perfect year in which to take a twelve-month break.

Advanced Warfare is still Call of Duty, but it's more playful, knowing and refreshing than COD's been in years. [Christmas 2014, p.112]

In many ways, the game is the perfect distillation of the franchise's core appeal. But it's still just Call of Duty, don't expect it to revolutionize the industry. [Issue#118, p.61]
