Theres SO many issues in this game and its really sad considering how beautiful it looks and how fun the abilities/combat can be at moments and the most important thing to note here is that all the many problems cannot be just fixed with patches as the entire game would need to be remade to really fix it all..

First of all there's still tons of game breaking bugs where you'll just get stuck in 20 minute loading screens where you have to restart the game or certain menus completely freeze up or you'll fall underneath the map and can no longer play and must quit and restart the entire mission.. But what worries me is how BORING and repetitive the missions are.. every mission combat fight is done on the ground! They didnt take advantage of all the open sky and all the flying javolins that could have some epic sky fights! The bosses are recycled over again making you fight them multiple times instead of giving you something new. After you beat the game there isn't a single memorable moment in the boss fights or the boring story mode which mainly involves fetch quests and waves of enemies. The loot also gives you nothing exciting forcing you to buy microtransactions

*Clap* *Clap* *Clap* Bioware has done it with this one. This won't get better. This is is a beautiful failure that defies logic or reasoning (Unless you're EA and want to do everything short of scam players). So, here's a few positives:
    1. Gameplay is fun-ish? 2. See point 1. It is absolutely staggering to try and understand what Bioware was thinking

It is absolutely staggering to try and understand what Bioware was thinking with this game. EAs handling pervades the game like watching a kid that didn't get vaccinated for Polio, you know it's only going to get worse after the diagnosis. Do not buy this game. This is EAs bull**** because the video game industry is so unregulated i'm waiting for the Russian Oligarchs to take it over. If you buy it, if you spend your money on their microtransactions, then they will just keep doing it, ruining more games, and probably in a few years kill off the console gaming industry as a whole.

I will note a further positive to Anthem, after playing this game, I am no longer pro-life. Because this game with it's 10 year plan is metaphorically a fetus with down syndrome.

Should be Laws against releasing games in this state. Its wrong to take our money for a product that clearly doesn't work. Using the Gaming community as QA seems to be the going trend these days

FYI I made this account specifically to review this game and give it a ZERO.

I pre-ordered Anthem and even bought a copy for my best friend because of the early E3 trailer and later "actual gameplay" trailer. Well let me tell you, those videos were outright LIES that are illegal under US law. The game: - Can't even be played at most times due to server instability issues -

I pre-ordered Anthem and even bought a copy for my best friend because of the early E3 trailer and later "actual gameplay" trailer. Well let me tell you, those videos were outright LIES that are illegal under US law.

    The game:

    - Can't even be played at most times due to server instability issues
    - Forces you to hit a loading screen for practically everything you want to do
    - There are still constant Pilot Error Data bugs which prevent you from even getting into the one single instanced town in the game (where you start from on login)
    - The combat is a joke since combat is based on scaling (ie a lvl1 player joining their friend will do more DPS with a lvl1 gun than someone with a full MasterWork loadout)
    - Is horribly designed from the ground up
    - Lacks any true end-game and BioWare's 90-day Games As Service model puts the first event a full 3 months after launch which effectively kills the game in terms of the majority of players
    - Is a looter shooter..... WITH NO LOOT. The Devs refuse to make the loot rain despite receiving a THOROUGH post by Diablo 3's director who revamped D3's loot with 2.0
    - The crafting system is now unusable since the harvest nodes you farm to get crafting material with were nerfed into oblivion and harvesting is now a waste of time

I could go on and on about how terrible this game is, but the gist is that Anthem is a buggy mess that has far too many issues connecting to it's own servers for even a single-player instanced walk around Tarsis.

Do NOT spend your money on Anthem. And I HIGHLY recommend not buying any more BioWare or EA games ever again unless you want to be looked at as a cash cow meant to be strung along to pay for low-effort DLC, loot boxes, and low-effort cosmetics that aren't even what the players want.

I paid the full price when it launched to ENJOY the following points in minutes:
    - 60 mins flying like Iron Man
    - 30 mins of finding out the variety of story and quests
    - 60 mins of dialogues

So after 2 1/2 hours I saw enough of this game.

A concept that had such potential - squandered by a rush to get it out the door. If this game had another YEAR of ACTUAL development - it might have been something. The combat felt right, the world building was pretty cool, the art was fantastic.

But what it had in potential, it had 100x more problems. Long loading screens, empty free play world, Loading screens, lack of gameplay

But what it had in potential, it had 100x more problems. Long loading screens, empty free play world, Loading screens, lack of gameplay loop, loading screens, bugs, loading screens, only 3 (now 4) endgame strikes, loading screens, lack of loot, loading screens, meaningless stats, loading screens, abandoned road map, loading screens, frequent disconnects, loading screens, expensive MTC, loading screens, NPC's that won't shut up, loading screens.

If you can get this game for $5-10 USD, go for it - but it won't be anything you come back to.

Terrbible, EA quality at it's best. Release a game, make promises, deliver on NONE of them. EA style.

Waited for this game for some time and, in true EA fashion, the dropped the ball by assiging a team that makes story-based single player RPGs deliver a janky, thrown-together, poorly-optimised, poorly QA'd mess. What an immense disappointment. $80 of my money I'll never get back. Avoid

Anthem represents everything that is wrong with the triple-A games industry: Monetization above all else, grindy, repetitive gameplay, terrible loot/rewards for players, lacklustre endgame content, a fake E3 gameplay trailer and releasing a broken, barely tested game with a "we'll patch it later" mentality.

The game supposedly spent 6 years in development, however the majority of the game only came together in the last 18 months or so and it's clear by the state of which it was released in. BioWare are absolutely inept. They had no creative vision for this game, no abilities to make key decisions for this game's direction and frankly, barely any experience building a looter shooter.

The whole "10 year plan" and "Destiny killer" claims are turning out to be nothing more than memes! I'd be shocked if Anthem survives for another 2 years, forget 10 years.

Seriously, screw BioWare and screw EA.

I feel a 0 for anthem is still somehow to high. its like treading in **** after the dog bit you. Then rubbing the **** in your eyes and playing destiny. All of the bad parts of destiny and none of the excitement of getting an exotic your friends so desperately want. "Look at my Gally". "Bro why do you have pink eye?". Ladies and Gentlemen....... Anthem.

In comparison with even the base Destiny 2 – let alone that game expanded by all its excellent DLC – Anthem feels not so much unfinished as barely started. It contains some good ideas which it fails to develop, and some of its basic pillars, such as the insistence on fourplayer co-op, somehow convey the impression of being tacked on rather than fundamental. And even with the huge early patch, it’s still glitchy – we had to play three quarters of a 45-minute Stronghold without sound, for example, which was disconcerting.

As a multiplayer game, the combat here is fun, but heading back to Fort Tarsis to grab the next quest becomes a chore; I found myself fast-forwarding as much dialogue as possible so I could get back into battle. There are likable characters in Anthem if you pay attention, and Bioware’s depth of story does shine if you’re interested. You won’t always be interested, though.

A game with a lot of potential that was released before it was ready.
