  1. Wing Commander Arena attempts to revive the past with a lukewarm effort that many fans might find to be blasphemous. WCA was built around the multiplayer experience, but the inability to keep your group of gamers together in player matches goes against the spirit of Xbox Live.
  2. It offers a lot of options for your 800-points and 16-player team battles can be quite enjoyable, but there's just not enough meat on its bones to constitute a satisfying meal.
  3. Wing Commander Arena should only be downloaded by spaceship nuts that need to play every sci-fi game. Otherwise, you may want to pass on it.
  4. As long as you go into this game realizing that it in no way resembles anything truly Wing Commander, and are prepared for a shareware style 2D space shooter with limited fun and potential, knock yourself out.

It's a great addition to XBLA. Good Co-op.

I don't know what game some of those ^^^ reviews were playing - but scoring 80+ is far too generous. Worth 800 points? Maybe. Single I don't know what game some of those ^^^ reviews were playing - but scoring 80+ is far too generous. Worth 800 points? Maybe. Single player lacks any depth and is no more than training for multiplayer battles. Fortunately mulitplayer options are reasonable entertainment. The controls are a bit limiting and the fact you only fly in 2D seems a bit lame, but you do get upto 4 weapons per ship and 18 ship to choose from, all with their own individual weapons set and handling. Only buy if you like shooting stuff. Full Review »
