A travesty for MVC fans. MVC3 was great, but that's what UMVC3 is. A better version of MVC3. Almost nothing new that couldn't have been DLC. Plus the balancing flaws of the first game that gave it a smudge are not only back, but even WORSE than before. Should've bought Mortal kombat instead, at least their upfront about their DLC, Don't get overly greedy, and fix the balancing flaws ratherA travesty for MVC fans. This game blows, i haven't seen a more unbalanced game in my life. this game has such a small roster of characters, and half the characters nobody cares about. Combos are unbreakable. Half the capcom characters can kill any character in the game with one combo. Campers (zoners) just chip all your life away with x-factor. characters have abilities that make no sence. people online onlyThis game blows, i haven't seen a more unbalanced game in my life. this game has such a small roster of characters, and half the characters nobody cares about. UMVC2 was great. this is a stain on fighting games just like the new Mortal Kombat. dont get me wrong playing this OFFLINE is fun, heroes and heralds mode was interesting but man is this thing so unbalanced. whats funny is that if they balanced and regulated the game rage quitting wouldnt be as prevalent. and x-factor totally breaks the game still. the new cast is poor and unbalanced. specifically Ghost Rider Expand

Capcom should stop making video games, this is awful. It looks and feels like it belongs in a 1990s arcade and just wants to eat all of your quarters with BS attacks by the computer. $60 for this is a joke, wait for it to hit the $9.99 bin at Walmart if you must have it.

This is travesty. Not only is this a cash-grab, trying to release the same game over again with new character at full price, but they actually tweaked the game so that people who are not professionally serious about fighting games can no longer beat this game. I had MvC 3 and I consider myself to be an average fighting game player but not especially well attuned to street fighters or these games. However, could at least have fun with MvC 3 by grinding the arcade mode and beating it on the easiest settings even with poor characters. This is no longer possible. Capcom wanted to give a massive middle finger to the players by tweaking the final boss fight, Galactus, into a state where it is practically impossible to win, unless you are crazy skilled at this game and have the reflexes of an alien creature. In the normal game, I could beat Galactus by a combination of blocking, hyper combos and gritting of teeth 90% of the time, but here, he just will not go down and spams cheap unblockable full screen moves until you are dead. Even on the very easy setting. An insult as a product, do not buy this. Expand

If you own previous –non-Ultimate- versions of this punch-and-kick game there is no reason to buy this one. Otherwise, you should try it – it is still a great fight with crazy visuals and endless multiplayer fun. [Jan 2012]

More, more, more. Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 has more of everything from the original: more characters and costumes, more stages, more modes available already on the disc, simply more fighting possibilities than ever starring some of the most popular Marvel and Capcom characters.

By all accounts, the game itself is fantastic and much deserved of the score we gave MvC3 but there just isn't enough in UMvC3 to really set it apart as a title in its own right.
