This game is pretty good if you always wanted to buy Marvel Vs Capcom 3 but you didn't. Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is a great game for the Xbox 360. This game is really extraordinary. Maybe it was released too early, but remains an excellent game. Fun and graphically beautiful. It has to have. Capcom's policy is not excellent as the game, but this should not affect us.

This game is for two audiences- those who for whatever reason didn't pick up MvC3 and the hardcore fighters who are buying this in addition to MvC3. I find myself in the latter category- I had both MvC3 and UMvC3 on preorder. This game does add a good roster to the MvC3 group. They are advertising that the game is more balanced, and it definitely feels that way. If you do, then I'd probably only recommend this game if you are really a hardcore player- there is a lot of new stuff, but it may not be worth $40 more dollars for someone who already has MvC3. This game should not be judged by it's history (terrible DLC practices and released too early), it should be judge by being fun and as a game and i find the game very fun. The combos in this game almost make you want to comeback to practice so you can make your own creative combos with all of your team members (Wesker, Iron Man, Akuma for me). Again, the game was rushed out the door to fast and there are very little modes, but the fighting is so addicting that i want to play this game at least once a day. At first it's pretty bad for no story and pretty much nothing else in the game. This is mainly just for the combat and the excitment of certain characters fighting each other in flashy 100 hit combos that you need to train very very hard just to pull off. Capcom should stop making video games, this is awful. It looks and feels like it belongs in a 1990s arcade and just wants to eat all of your quarters with BS attacks by the computer. $60 for this is a joke, wait for it to hit the $9.99 bin at Walmart if you must have it.

I had MvC 3 and I consider myself to be an average fighting game player but not especially well attuned to street fighters or these games. However, could at least have fun with MvC 3 by grinding the arcade mode and beating it on the easiest settings even with poor characters. This is no longer possible. Capcom wanted to give a massive middle finger to the players by tweaking the final boss fight, Galactus, into a state where it is practically impossible to win, unless you are crazy skilled at this game and have the reflexes of an alien creature. In the normal game, I could beat Galactus by a combination of blocking, hyper combos and gritting of teeth 90% of the time, but here, he just will not go down and spams cheap unblockable full screen moves until you are dead. Even on the very easy setting. An insult as a product, do not buy this. Expand

Bad: If you had MVC3, you'r buying almost the same game again. The AI can get really "Cheap". The money grab for DLC costumes (when they are already in the game they just want your $20 to unlock them). Some of these characters can be retired and have new ones bought in. I'm looking at you Morrigan.

Summary: If you like the "versus" games (and a extra $40 in case you have MVC3) you can't go wrong here. The game does need some tweaks and re working, but it's a graphically fun button masher with just enough skill needed to play and enjoy for months.

When the first teasers came out (for MVC3) I was expecting an amazing story, but it has a nonsense story, they should take note from "Injustice" next time. Also some buffs ans nerfs from MVC3 to Ultimate are great but some others were just fan service that end up with almost useless characters that were good in MVC3 (like Phoenix, some nerfs were OK, she was overpowered, but they really smashed her for the Ultimate version) I enjoy playing this game a lot, it's fun, but not well balanced and it's annoying how they keep this money grab with all their games.
