Jun 29, 2011I love how it combines hard training and unapologetic difficulty with the real-life personalities who serve as your trainers: much like the gymnastics coaches who saw me through days of torn palms and taped shins, this tough-love attitude kept me focused and on track.
-
Jun 29, 2011You will have a lot of fun playing it while at the same time getting into better shape and becoming more healthy without even realizing it.
-
Jun 29, 2011No other fitness game goes this far to motivate you to continue after the first week.
-
Jul 7, 2011There's never been a better time to channel your competitive gamer spirit into some real results. In the end, UFC Personal Trainer will have you feeling the burn and getting in shape, while having fun doing it. After a week and a half with the game, I already noticed increased muscle mass and more definition on my own body, and you can do the same, provided you stick with it. Make sure to check with your doctor before taking part in any exercise routine, especially one as intense as this one.

Jul 6, 2011Despite these respectful niggles, UFC Personal Trainer is successful purely because it's fun. Summoning up the will-power (and body-power) to exercise in the middle of Winter can be a daunting task.

Jun 29, 2011Simply put, UFC Personal Trainer stands as the best fitness game on the Xbox 360 Kinect to date. This visually solid game will get your heart pumping as you learn various MMA moves while getting in shape. This game will not only benefit those looking to build strength and drop a few pounds, but it will also serve to be a great introduction for those looking to get into the MMA sport. While there is still some room for improvement, the fact remains UFC Personal Trainer is a solid purchase for those who have been holding out for a fitness game that delivers on all cylinders.
-
Sep 14, 2011Say what you will about the little things that make UFC Personal Trainer a little clunky to use, I used it and I got results. In the end, that's what counts.
-
Jul 8, 2011If you own a Kinect, want to work out, and are interested in combining those two pursuits, this is a solid bet. Mixing proven routines, tons of boxing/MMA moves, and a macho, no-nonsense look and feel, this has serious potential to upend EA Active for many. EA's game still has the edge in terms of trainer feedback and the sheer variety of activities, but the focus on kicking ass (or, at least training like a real ass-kicker) here is incredibly appealing. Just be sure not to over-extend or bang your joints!
-
CD-ActionAug 2, 2011This fitness game will teach you humility in a couple of minutes and prove that in terms of shape you're not very different from your grandpa. Unfortunately UFC Personal Trainer is not so personal – coaches don't notice and can't correct your mistakes and their vocabulary is very scarce so some of their comments are nonsensical. And there's too little game in this game so you have to find motivation to practise all by yourself. [August 2011, p.73]
-
Jul 24, 2011While it may suffer from a few technical issues, it's still largely trouble-free and among the more reliable Kinect games available at this point.
-
Jul 14, 2011A man's fitness game through and through that disengages from the family oriented competition and offers a strong and strict program which can -and will- enthrall fans of the genre.
-
Jul 1, 2011With plenty of modes and some nifty customization options, this is a fitness game that it is easy to stick with.
-
Jul 4, 2011As a basic introduction to the world of fitness, it's hard to go wrong with UFC Personal Trainer. It's the type of game whose potential is based on how much you put into it.
-
Jun 28, 2011This game won't turn us into killing machines, but will make us practice and exercise through combat movements, and it manages to successfully differenciate itself from the rest of fitness games.
-
Aug 8, 2011UFC Personal Trainer is good, both for the occasional workout when you feel like it, and as a true personal training regime with daily workouts that push you to your limits.
-
Jul 26, 2011A good and valid workout program, suited for some serious home fitness. Don't expect to be trained in MMAs tough, because except for some boxing excercises, you won't find much.

Games Master UKSep 9, 2011Testing workouts, let down by sluggish Kinect tracking and poor representation. [Oct 2011, p.93]
-
Xbox World 360 Magazine UKAug 15, 2011It's still cheaper than a month at Fitness First. [Oct 2011, p.85]
-
Aug 6, 2011UFC Personal Trainer is a great addition to the small stable of fitness games on Kinect, offering something that's both in-depth and incredibly intense. However, it's simply let down by a lack of more casual, enjoyable game aspects and pointless trainers with little to contribute. That said, if you give it your time and attention, UFC Personal Trainer should yield some real results to show off on the beach this summer, if that's what you want.
-
Aug 3, 2011UFC Personal Trainer does a great job at making you feel like you're actually training in a UFC gym by some of the greats rather than looking silly in your living room.
-
Jul 31, 2011UFC Personal Trainer is a solid fitness game, but its shaky tracking and repetitive trainers soon bog it down.
-
X-ONE Magazine UKJul 25, 2011You'll need a room as big as a rock venue. [Issue#74, p.86]
-
Jul 13, 2011OK, so forget everything about cute and friendly workout games like Wii Fit and Zumba Fitness. UFC Personal Trainer is about to make you a MMA fighter. For real. Even though the speaker outright sucks, the exercise you get is really good. This game actually will kick your ass and give you muscles and a nice time while doing it.
-
Jul 20, 2011Fails to rise above the other fitness games out there, due to its spotty body movement detection and questionable audio choices.
-
Jul 22, 2011UFC Personal Trainer is an interesting game but not for everyone. A person looking primarily for some fun and then for the possibility to do some work done won't find anything interesting here. But if you're not interested in graphics and are looking for some real workout - it's the right thing for you.
-
Jul 13, 2011UFC Personal Trainer would make a fine introduction into the world of fitness – it's just a shame that the surrounding shell of the software is so lacklustre.
-
Jul 11, 2011Perhaps then, the biggest THQ has made is that they have explicitly created a fitness game rather than camouflaging exercise within the game, such as Fighters Uncaged or the plethora of dance titles on the market. Until this happens, and until the social aspects of the game are improved or a punchable man-shaped peripheral is released, gamers are going to find few reasons within UFC Personal Trainer to take their workouts from the gym into their living rooms.
-
Jul 1, 2011If you're looking for motivation to get in better shape, UFC Personal Trainer will annoy before it inspires. But if you're looking for an interactive tool that can supplement your healthy lifestyle with home exercise, UFC Personal Trainer can be handy.
-
Sep 9, 2011If you are looking for a serious fitnessgame to really train your condition, UFC comes close. If you have the proper motivation that is, because the game itself sure isn't going to motivate you.
-
Sep 6, 2011UFC Personal Trainer offers the most exhausting workout in video games, but bugs, repetitive programmes, and overlong stretching periods cause you to tire for the wrong reasons.
-
Jul 27, 2011Overall, this is a fairly disappointing title where a lot more could be done with the excellent licensing opportunities.
-
Jul 21, 2011There's a great Kinect workout waiting to be made - this isn't it. But though it is flawed, UFC Personal Trainer should still get the committed fitter faster than its current rivals - just not without frustration along the way.
-
Aug 15, 2011Hit The Mitts shows you what Zuffa could have done - a mini-game that reacts well to your punches.
-
Jul 11, 2011UFC Personal Trainer isn't a great video game, but it is a pretty damn good workout. It'd be downright fantastic if it had better body tracking abilities, and if the voice controlled menu actually functioned correctly most of the time.
-
Jul 8, 2011I sweated through several of Personal Trainer's routines, and by the end, felt the comfortable muscle burn you usually get after a workout, which I suppose is one of the goals of any fitness program, but UFC Personal Trainer fails to deliver in every other way. These digital trainers are less helpful than a real trainer and the martial arts drills they run you through lack the satisfaction of punching a real boxing mitt or speed bag. This trainer won't make you a champion.
-
Jul 5, 2011Even though one can't deny what benefits it brings to the body and the quality of the training exercises, the visual and sound of UFC Trainer are disappointing. It also lacks rhythm to appeal to the gamer who's at least a little fond of sports already. It still may be a complementary training tool if you do your sport live, already.
