Beenox didn’t reach the peak with its reboots yet – especially if you compare it to Peter Parker’s free-roaming adventures from two console generations ago. But they are on their way.

Compared to the big budget, 3D, slow-motion CGI movies, there is no comparison. The graphics, gameplay, and voice acting is serviceable, but hardly ‘amazing’ as the title would suggest.

From developer Beenox we expected something more than a bland, open-world Spidey game that loses almost all its interest after 5 hours.

Spider-Man returns with the new film. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is an average game, and it's not particularly challenging. New York and notorious villains have many problems in this classic sandbox.

The Amazing Spider-man draws too much direct inspiration from the Batman: Arkham series, implements it too unevenly to warrant much praise.

You don’t need a Spider-sense to realise that a game with various audio glitches, gameplay crashes and overall sloppy design might not be worth your time or effort, as this Spider-Man isn’t the hero that fans need or deserve.

Beenox deliver a buggy, messy game that misses the essence of Spider-Man by a wide margin. Here’s hoping Activision entrusts the popular licence to another developer for the inevitable sequel.

only 14 main missions and riddled with enemies that block super powers hindering freeplay in the city. The other side missions are mostlyonly 14 main missions and riddled with enemies that block super powers hindering freeplay in the city. The other side missions are mostly uninspired and take less than 30 seconds to complete and have about 5 different variants. Character customization / upgrades are all limited to skills doing more damage nothing more.
A very poor attempt at Prototype/Infamous fails at everything it does. The PS3 version also buggy trophies not unlocking/freezes

I don't know how the people gave a 7.2 for this game. I think this game is so real and I think that the creator of this is a total genius. The only problem is that the bosses are way too easy because none of them actually hurt me and I finished the game in 1 day and in 1 trial. But still one of the best games I have ever known. I usually am not used to games but now I am totally addicted. Full Review »

Why an 8 and not a 9 or 10? the benchmark for me (and many others) is Batman: Arkham City, and where this game doesn't meet it is the complete lack of options for side missions of any depth, or more importantly medal campaigns or brawls, its story or nothing, and that doesnt make sense, and seems a little phoned in as far as effort, since the game is set up for it. one could argue that with the open world you get endless play but that is a couple small repitive options. really is a 7.5 overall but spidey gets a .5 bump in my book.
