    Strider isn’t the lightning-in-a-bottle remake that Bionic Commando Rearmed was. That was a clever reimagining, where the updates enhanced the experience rather than detracted, and every new armament felt like a natural requirement of the combat mechanics. Here, it’s overstuffed with nary a worthy challenge in sight.

    Strider is a very good 2D platform adventure with good combat elements and nice bosses. Checkpoints could be better and the levels are a bit too dark in places. [March 2014]

    Strider fans and speed-run aficionados will get the most out of this but for everyone else, this is a solid, fast-paced platformer that never lets the pace dip long enough for you to become too bored. [Issue#146, p.104]
