The music in the game is really interesting, even the notes of Skyrim and many other games and movies can be noticed. The plot is really funny and ironic in every sense. The surrounding world is filled with colorful characters and we can walk around the city finding various references and unique characters. Also in the game there are partners, races, classes with various unique attacks and characters. In general, this is a unique game in its genre that can drag you for many hours. I’ll give this a 9 just because this is a great example how a licensed game should be handled. It’s a lot of fun exploring the town of South Park and you really feel like you are playing an episode of the show.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It's not the most original game ever, it's a decently fun game, and has plenty of laughs, and does do most things right. Some bits of the game could have been expanded upon a bit more, like the combat system, which doesn't really do that much that's original, though it is interesting farting on Al Gore and causing more global warming, you can't deny that if the squeal is going to be better they have to: make more available partners in battle, a weapons system that has weapons that are for different, classes, instead of letting a thief use a mage staff. South Park: The Stick of Truth has everything a true South Park fan need in a South Park game. Fresh jokes, adventure, action and the freedom to walk around in all of South Park. The best part must definitely be that it looks just like the show and you can't really see any difference from the writing when it comes to the game and the show. I mean there's nothing bad about this game. Well if you wanna be a douchebag yeah sure it's the stupid censorship on the xbox & ps3 but not on PC which is the most stupid thing I have ever .. ever ! Seen since Capcom fired the creator of Resident Evil. And that they did the censorship here in europe and not in the states is beyond me. I mean I live in Sweden and here they don't even censor swears in tv.

Well enough about that. The game is awesome for anyone who likes South Park and I can say that it was one of the best games I played 2016 !

My expectations about the game could not be as high as it was, after some years of waiting(changing of the studio and stuff like this), I was scared, "the game I most waited would fail?", and Ubisoft this years is having issuses of several games having bugs(Assassin's Creed Unity, Far Cry 4, The Division), but I can say, they gave what i wanted. Most of the sucess of the game was Tray Parker and Matt Stone making the plot story, because, only them can create the best South Park plot, after 20 years with this show, South Park is by far a part of them.
The game takes place after the black friday's episode, on the end of the 17th seasson, is nothing huge, that will changing completly the conception of the universe, but is a nice "side story" for the show. But, for you have the best experience ever on the game, you must had watched all the seassons, all simple things on the game, makes a reference to a part of the show, and some is about other shows, but nothing complex, everybody will understand, for example, the achivement, called "Hisenberg", that you have to look like Walter White and fight with some drugs makers, but everybody would know that was a referance to Breaking Bad.And the game uses the referance of SKYRIM, to the main plot, as you are like a "dragonborn", that you have more power than a normal person would.
Most people complains about the RPG's combat mechanics, that is a turning battle, but is good to remember old days, and like isn't focused in "combat", "action", but in funny things, and would be weird the combat, for this in the plot the combat is like a game, that for play, everybody must follow the rules, The weapons and armours aren't stronger that others about the power of itself, but the power that they puts on it, like the stick of truth, a simple stick, that "who have the stick, controlls the whole universe".
The game isn't big, short story, not big map, some side quests, some collectables and just, after this the game is over. But, is so funny that makes you wanna play more and more, the feeling of being a part of the South Park's universe is unique.
Have already finidhed the game 5 times now, plan to play more and more. Is by far my all-time favorite game. If you enjoy the TV show ore wants a funny game, go ahead. If you are a hardcore game, and only wants challenging games, best gameplay ever, true RPG style.... you will find nothing here.
And remember, "never fart on someone balls.".

You keep track of your new friends via Facebook…
When you meet up with the neighborhood kids you find they’re in the middle of an elf vs human war, you start out on the human side and get to choose 1 of the varying classes, its then up to you to sabotage the elves and recruit new members for the kingdom
Stick of Truth was a relaxing time but the gameplay for me was just a bit too repetitive..
It didn’t take long for me to get bored with the combat...
This is a turn based rpg where you take turns attacking enemies with potential elemental damage, and effects like bleeding, or gross out…
with a bag on consumables for healing
    Nothing special…
You have mana which is used for fart magic you unlock as your progress through the game, and power points for special moves…
You also have 1 buddy with you when you battle…
Buddies are unlocked with story progression and can be swapped in and out like Pokémon at any time...
There’s a buddy for every ones playstyle or to balance your class out…
So a lot of thought definitely went into balancing this game…
You can also collect new weapons and armor in backpacks, or buy them at shops…
This game pokes fun at the rpg genre throughout, which is the only thing I really found charming here…
I personally found no humor during the combat nor really in the game even though they clearly tried really hard…
Humor is subjective.. I find games like fat princess adventures to be hilarious while others may look at me strange for saying this… but bathroom humor just doesn’t quite tickle my funny bone, though the game did manage to get few laughs out of me... but not necisarily with the ridiculous things going on like giving an abortion to stans dad, or farting all over the place to progress through the levels.. But when the game would sarcastically make fun of itself... these were the best moments for me as someone not really a fan of the TV show…
I feel like you need to be a fan to truly enjoy this and get the belly laughs I’ve heard so much about before playing...
There’s so much fan service here…
The entire town is mapped out and can be freely explored with tons of collectibles…
You can do side quests... search the characters drawers for junk, to sell for some pocket change, collect frustratingly missable collectibles like chimpokomon
It will keep fans of the show entertained for hours…
The biggest mistake I feel this game makes though is the whole having to fart or use these different abilities to progress…
It feels a little awkward switching through fart types, or shooting an object then switching to give commands…
    I could’ve done without this needless slowdown…
Shooting arrows is fine for the collectible aspect or knocking things down in the environment, setting up traps to kill enemies before you get into a battle with them… but I feel like the shrinking, the anal probe thing, and buddy commands got in the way.
While I didn’t get the laughs I expected, I can still appreciate this game for what it is though as a whole…
A well balanced, but repetitive, rpg with a decent story to keep you moving forward..
I give Southpark The Stick of Truth

It was purely on a whim that I picked it up on sale for $8 on Xbox's countdown for new years sale. I'm so thankful I did because this game is quickly becoming on of my favorite RPGs.

The level of immersion in Stick of Truth is one of the most impressive aspects of this game. The visuals are incredibly accurate to the show. I really feel like I'm a part of this wild world created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone. Right off the bat you get to create your own South Park character. Seeing your person in various cut-scenes in these very familiar environments is pretty surreal.

One of the biggest surprises to me was the combat system. Its just deep enough for hardcore rpgs fans without the extra, complicated, fluff that weighs down so many big rpgs. A turn based combat system with bonus for timing your hits and blocks is reminiscent of many of the genres staples like Paper Mario and Legend of Dragoon. The variety of weapons, equipment, and enhancements is equally impressive. The default difficulty feels like it gives just the right amount of challenge without requiring grinding.

The story is has all the antics you'd expect from the best classic South Park episodes. The way the scenarios slowly build up in scale is really cool. Going from backyard brawls and role playing to taking on a horde of zombies and government agents is both ridiculous and hilarious. This game is chalk full of references and side quests related to the tv show. I even really enjoy just rummaging peoples' houses and seeing what junk they had lying around.

In the end, I'm very grateful I gave this game a chance. I'm loving every minute of it and I'll be very curious to see how it all comes together. If you enjoy the show or just like RPGs in general its worth checking out this comical and rewarding game.

    PROS:

    - Graphically, an excellent representation of the cartoon. It looks just like South Park.

    - The humor is great, but bear in mind there is some adult content that's not appropriate for a younger audience. (S-E-X!)

    - If you're a South Park fan, then you'll enjoy the story. It continues off from a few earlier South Park episodes.

    - Although this is an RPG it has a fair amount of action elements, which keeps you engaged in battles.

    - It's fun exploring the town, and meeting all the characters, and interacting with objects.

    - You have lots of different weapons to choose from, and you can customize your character's clothes.

    - The progression system is well done. too.

    - In total it's a complete RPG experience.

    CONS:

    - The menu, while manageable, is sometimes confusing. There's a slight learning curve here.

    - Speaking of learning curves, since this game has action elements you are required to join in, and press certain buttons to attack your opponents. This can prove problematic, and you will avoid certain attacks, or get hurt. (Although they try to circumvent this with instructions.)

    - Not really a fan of the quick travel system. Why can't I just bring up my map, and travel to wherever I like? To fast travel I have to go to a certain spot, and hitch a ride with Timmay!

    - Getting lost in the woods is a pain. Not sure what they were thinking with this. It's the most annoying part of town. The enemies there, the wolves, they just obliterate you. They howl at the moon, and keep spawning. There's no run away option (I believe).

    - Some elements, and routes seem unintentionally obscured. For example, finding Mr Slave's house is kind of hard.

    - I like how you can visit characters, and do missions to have them help you during battles. My only gripe is once you use them up, you have to visit them again. It seems like a time waster.

    - The save system could use some improvement. When I save, I want to save at that precise point. Is this not technically possible?

    CONCLUSION:

Not a perfect game, but very well done. Worth a play if you are a fan of South Park, or the RPG genre. If you aren't then this might not be for you. But give it a try. I'm looking forward to the sequel.

There are some issues with the interface, which is clunky and annoying at times. The game over screen is a bit abrupt too, which is only a cosmetic issue in itself, but gives me the suggestion that a little effort was lacking in some elements of the game.

As far as gameplay goes, though, this is great fun. The story is amusing and self-referential, as you'd expect from the TV show. The animation, voices and presentation are exactly as you expect too. As has been said a billion times before, this feels just like a South Park film in which you have a starring role.

Making its standard stabs at political and social concerns of modern America, with early side-missions including the beating up of the homeless that you see, so that they leave South Park and restore the town's standing as a "compassionate town". Another early scene has you escaping from an alien space craft, with European copies inexplicably censored when it comes to anal probes - but this censorship is amusingly presented, and again manages to be self-referential.

The town of South Park is easy to traverse (you will likely hold down B to run at all times) and there are unlockable bus stops - Timmy will take you between any two unlocked stops to cut walking time.

The fighting is your standard turn-based RPG style, but with a twist. You can use abilities (healing, curing, mana restoration) at the start of each character's turn, then you can attack. Attacking is similar in some ways to Mario's RPG series, with time button presses adding extra damage. The weapons are often humorous, with such SP-based charms as adding a tuft of ginger pubes to your weapon to gross out an enemy and cause further damage over time.

All in all this game understands what it wants to be, and more importantly understands what it is. And it presents itself with aplomb.
