    one of the best open world games i have ever played with a unique and amazing story. you meet lots of interesting and funny character whilst being a badass bounty hunter. i 100% recommend this game

    As an experienced player who always waits for new Western games, I can definitely say that RDR is the most fascinating Western game I've ever played. I enjoyed a big open-world, soundtrack, story, missions, gameplay, etc. Although the story was pretty simple (and I spoiled the end myself, unfortunately), I still liked it. Gameplay wasn't innovative, since I played it in 2016, but it was aAs an experienced player who always waits for new Western games, I can definitely say that RDR is the most fascinating Western game I've ever played. I enjoyed a big open-world, soundtrack, story, missions, gameplay, etc. Although the story was pretty simple (and I spoiled the end myself, unfortunately), I still liked it. Gameplay wasn't innovative, since I played it in 2016, but it was a lot like GTA. The quality of side-missions was outstanding, and there's always something to do in this world after comleting the storyline.     Easily my favorite video game, and arguably one of the greatest games ever made. The story is something out of a great novel, the game play is fun, easy to learn, and innovative, and the world of the game and the characters you play as and encounter along your adventure are not easily forgotten.     La nota lo dice todo, el juego P-E-R-F-E-C-T-O. Sin más. Espero que su secuela (Red Dead Redemption 2) esté a la altura, ya que esta entrega dejó el listón muy alto. Desde una historia atrapante, DLC'S que merecen la pena sin duda, gráficos geniales, buenas mecánicas, y un largo etcétera hacen de este un gran juego. Lo que si que es cierto es que el mapa es muy pequeño, pero el tener queLa nota lo dice todo, el juego P-E-R-F-E-C-T-O. Sin más.     RockStar games did a wonderful job creating Red Dead Redemption to a swaying piece of grass in the middle of the desert to a giant city next to the mexican border.It’s all in this game the storyline takes place in the Wild West. The main character is John marston a former gang member that has to pay for what he has done to the Government. But instead of locking him up, the government takes his wife and child and tell him to take down his old gang. The game comes around at about 20 U.S dollars and it's worth it. Red Dead Redemption runs off the same platform as GTA5 Rockstar Advanced Game Engine also known as RAGE. RAGE is the platform Rockstar Games uses in there free roam games. The Red Dead Redemption game for more money you can get Undead Nightmare which is the same game but in a apocalypse scenario.

    This game Red Dead Redemption is one of the best games I've played in a while It’s constant action from gunfights to riding your horse into the sunset. The controls are a little funky but once I got to the third mission I was a pro. This game runs smoothly on your Xbox 360, a bit buggy at times but can be fixed by simply restarting your Xbox 360 console. There are two gameplay modes Single player and multiplayer but multiplayer requires Xbox Live. The game is rated M for Mature.

    I have found that when traveling long distances on your horse is very boring Every ten seconds I had to press the A key to keep my horse on the road. On the other hand the game doesn't AUTOSAVE this is very annoying I completed one of the hardest parts in the game and had to restart because I forgot to save. What I liked about the game is the graphics. It has one of the best graphics i've ever seen in a game. I have never seen the most detailed graphics until I played this game sunsets are amazing!

    Overall this is the most amazing game I've played. If you ever head to gamestop and see this game pick it up. I would recommend this game to everyone whos likes a good old fashioned gunfight or likes Rockstar games. But I really enjoyed this game and recommend you pick it up. For the price you pay this game will keep you entertained for hours and hours. Overall is just a outstanding game and recommend that you play it.    … Expand

    One of the greatest masterpiece of open world games. I played as if I'm John Marston so the ending touched my mind... not just the story, a pleasure playing game is also great. interesting stranger side-missions, item.....etc. strongly recommended if you like western culture.

It's been 7 years now since this game came out (2017) and it's still one of my favourite games I have ever played. Rockstar are my favourite devs, when they announce a game you know it's gonna be good.     Este es un juego excelente, los motivos son: historia buenísima, jugabilidad perfecta, mapa muy grande, cantidad de armas muy buena, gran cantidad de contenido (ademas de ser muy divertido), posee un personaje principal muy carismático, misiones principales y secundarias muy buenas, no tiene caídas de fps y multijugador muy bueno.

    The best story Rockstar has written yet, and the most believable world I have ever roamed in, and with simple but consistently fun gameplay to boot. It is truly one of the greatest games I have ever played. I played it recently and it still holds up really well...well at least in my opinion. If you get an opportunity to play this game please do so. It is a #P4P great.

    John Marston is a sublime character. He accepted the sins he commited, he fought, he repented and he got redemption. A red redemption, meaning his sins were forgiven with his blood, ending up dead. Red Dead Redemption. One of best videogames of 7th generation. An absolute essential and a master piece.

The multiplayer had tons of hours of fun. The shootouts, hunting animals, playing poker and joining together as a posse to fight against others. It truly made me feel immersed in the western world and hadAbsolutely perfect in every way.     In my 30 years of gaming, Red Dead Redemption is my favourite game to date. It’s a shame R* didn’t supersede this with RDR2. A true Masterpiece if you’re into Wild West movies and feel like taking the role of the lead character.

Yet another beautiful example of what gaming can be, and as per usual it is Rockstar Games that are the masterminds behind it, boldly pushing the boundaries of interactive entertainment. Both Red Dead Redemption and Red Dead Redemption II are clear 10/10 for me. They are both easily the greatest pieces ofA masterpiece. A worthy sequel (chronologically speaking) to Red Dead Redemption II. Yet another beautiful example of what gaming can be, and as per usual it is Rockstar Games that are the masterminds behind it, boldly pushing the boundaries of interactive entertainment.     Well, playing this game in 2020 with the 4K patch on a One X is quite amazing. The game itself is great, the content is well dimensioned, a rich story and, it's rare enough to mention, real sidequests with real stories. A must play which has clearly earned its reputation, still 10 years later.

    My entry into the wild west. Red Dead Redemption left me seriously impressed. Awesome combat, great atmosphere and most importantly, an Incredible story. One thats sincere, beautiful and very very captivating. A game that would lay the foundations for Red Dead Redemption 2, my favorite game of all time. Simply a masterpiece.

    I absolutely adore this game. Everything about it from the characters to the music. Where it may have a lot of glitches from it being a lesser priority considering it was wedged between Gta 4 and 5 it still shines in my heart and the sequel cannot beat it.

I prefer Red Dead Redemption 1 on Xbox 360 due to the controllers button layout and that the game look slightly better on the Xbox 360 over the PS3. Rockstar did such a great job bringing this world to life. When you're playing it it feels like you are playing out an old western movie. If you play this now and you have never played it before you might be a little spoiled by today's standards for graphics, but the graphics are still very impressive for its time (the game was originally released in 2010). The gameplay is superb. There is a feature known as "Dead-Eye" where when you shoot you can take out multiple targets at once when you are shooting. The game has an "honor" system where depending on your actions in the story, side missions, or just chance encounters with NPC's, you will gain or lose honor, and gain or lose fame. My favorite part of the game hands down is the story. In this game, you play as John Marston, a former outlaw who is forced by the government to hunt down the remaining members of his old gang in order to save his wife and son whom the government is holding ransom in exchange for Marston's services. This game has so many memorable characters, is well written, and will make you so invested in the story to see what happens next. As the title suggests, it is a story centered around redemption, and a man being forced to face his past. This game will make you feel so many emotions, and it is such a well told story that I cannot give it enough praise. This is easily a 10/10 game that everyone should experience.… Expand

Great graphics, a tremendous wild west world, badass mechanics and a fascinating story. Everyone should have played this game once to understand why the hype around the Red Dead series is that understandably exaggerated. Buy it!

    I'm not sure why, but i like this more than rdr2. Yeah, rdr2 has amazing graphics and good story, but overall i didn't find rdr2 map that interesting. But rdr1 map is actually really cool. There have been rumors that Rockstar is remaking rdr1, if it's actually true, i'm so hyped!

    I like Red Dead Redemption (2010) so much more than RDR2. I guess first one just has better atmosphere for some reason and i think map design is more interesting in 1. In RDR2 everything feels too....idk how to describe it even, too "placed" ? It doesn't feel as natural as 1. RDR2 is still good, but just gets boring way faster. RDR2 has nice story, but map is just meh.

Personally, I would've not tried RDR1 after playing RDR2 as the graphics of RDR2, I feel, are exceptional. Keeping the graphics apart, I was stunned and surprised by the minute details RDR1 has. Details such as the sounds of horses’ shoes riding from one turf to another change the terrain sound, the ground's heat rising at distance, dust eroding while walking or moving wagon, NPCs getting annoyed if bumped into, etc. I have to mention that my friend persuaded me to take RDR1, and I was more than happy and pleased to play this game as all my friend's assertions were correct.

    3. The main character's development and other characters in the game feel real while playing this video game. Apart from the main story missions, this open-world game took me by surprise regarding the Stranger Missions and the behavior patterns of such characters. The reactions of the Non-Player Characters while interacting with them were surreal all the time. Playing this game would make the player feel like living in the real old west world.

    4. The dialogues and the grammatical language were fabulously scripted as they portrayed how people used to converse in that era. The advantages and disadvantages of both sides- outlaws/uncivilized and civilization can be inferred through the dialogues of the in-game characters.

    5. Running on horses and playing missions give a very different feeling in this modern age. Action, thrill, adventure, and many items and aspects can be discovered while playing and exploring, apart from as well as while completing the main story!

    6. The background score and the music in this game are simply great as they provide great intensity while playing, whether roaming free or doing missions.

    Incredible details again in rockstar like the blood darkens and the crows arrive, different dialogues if the mission is failed, a b.s.o. constant and that each song could be the main one. Now you can repeat missions like in tbogt.

    It has some beautiful landscapes with a typical western lighting, The horse feels great for its time with a forceful gameplay. The physics are as good or better than in gta iv and better i.a.

    It never came out for pc but if you didn't play it in its day, buy a ps3, xbox 360, ps now, xbox one s, s / x series but play it.

    Another rockstar masterpiece. In addition, the online with less content than the current ones managed to be even better with those missions, and modes and the goty version cannot be missing in your collection    … Expand

    People who don't give this game a 10 are insane, this has such an amazing story and really nice gameplay.

    The story is the most touching part about the game, you need to play the game to understand. The ending is so hard hitting. I almost cried.

    For god's sake just play the game, you will track me down to thank me later for me recommending this game. Just trust me.

    It's a wide enough universe in this game to get everything you want out of it. The "Gun" games made me a fan of the genre, but I found that the story was too linear and restricting. A game like "Red Dead Redemption" really allows you to become immersed and to get settled in with missions that you like. The graphics are also quite impressive and really show off what the 30 can do.

    Quite immersive setup with a very impressive range of things to do and environments. Free-roam multilayer is a MASSIVE step in the right direction that other companies should look into. The repetitiveness of the single player kicks this otherwise great game down a few notches, but the multilayer can easily make up for it. The only issue I have so far is that ITS NOT ON PC!

    This game is awesome. I have had some problems putting it down because there is always something else to do or to discover. The main character is great. I really enjoy all of his dialogues and the voice actor they took is super. I am really hooked on hunting and riding a horse while the moon is full to the beautiful soundtrack will NEVER get old. The story is great and the experience playing along with the story is as well. The soundtrack makes the story even better. RDR is kind of like GTA IV. I didn't even enjoy GTA IV, despite the two game being very similar in comparison. After playing through Red Dead Redemption, it's safe to say that this game has changed my mind on the whole genre. I'm only here to write my review on the single player aspect of this game, since I had to return the game back to my friend, leaving me with little time to enjoy the multiplayer aspects. To start, Red Dead Redemption does not have what I would call the most original storyline, but it still works. You're John Marston, an extremely polite former outlaw whose family is being threatened by the government if he does not assist them in hunting down several of his former gang members. The story is honestly not much more deeper than that, but it does contain plenty of interesting plot twists and arcs. Some reviewers complained about this game being more akin to a movie rather than a video game, which is true to a certain extent in a good way. Certain action sequences such as duels and Dead Eye (which is essentially slow-mo) make this statement true. But the sheer amount of intense shootouts and other Western set-pieces (such as stopping another gang of outlaws from robbing a train) solidify this title as a truly triple A game. The game displays some of the best voice-acting I've ever heard in a game before, creating a realistic feel to the whole experience. The dialogue is superbly written and contains some absolutely hilarious moments. The characters in the game are expertly done, each with their own unique personalities and backgrounds. The game is entirely open-world, allowing you to literally cross the border between Mexico and Texas freely later in the game. One of the things that amazed me was the vast amount of things to do. Whether it was saving a damsel in distress from a group of highway robbers or getting caught while cheating during a game of Texas-Hold-Em, I never ran out of things to do, even after the game's completion. The missions that advance the storyline forward never stale, despite some of them essentially being the same thing. As you progress through each Act, you'll eventually build up to a climax mission for each one. These missions really allow the game to shine, forcing you through intense shootouts that really get your adrenaline pumping. Graphically, the game is impressive for the time that it was released. The character models look fantastic and the animations are all extremely fluid. Environments look good, but do tend to stale halfway through the game. There's tons of variation in the game, so you will never have to worry about getting bored. I have played a little bit of the online, and I will say that from what I experienced, I would gladly sink in many more hours to rank up. As with every game, there's always flaws, and this one's no exception. I think that the biggest flaw for me was the controls. Speaking for myself, the controls never felt comfortable. I never enjoyed mashing the A button over and over to sprint, nor did I find the game's cover system very well-implemented. I have died multiple times throughout the game due to the poor cover system. Several times, I would slide into cover and try and maneuver my way around where I was more protected from enemy fire. Instead of maneuvering to the side, my character would simply stand back up and be brutally mowed down instantly by the deadly accurate sharpshooting AI. Riding horses is smooth enough, but carriages and carts need to be worked on. I also had a minor problem with capturing bounties in the North. I would capture a bounty and wave after wave of his friends would come, which is fine by me. But then a random wild grizzly bear would maul my horse to death, while the captured bounty falls onto the ground. As I'm desperately trying to find the nearest mount so that I don't have to hoof it halfway across the map, the continuous onslaught of enemies never ceases. I'll kill one outlaw, attempt to put the captured bounty on top of his now vacant horse, which seems to run away immediately after I kill the rider, and then find myself face-to-face with another grizzly bear, forcing me to once again place the bounty back onto the ground while I exterminate the bear. Keep in mind that the animations for placing the captured bounty anywhere take about 2 seconds each, so it really grinds my nerves when it shows my character slowly place him on the ground when in reality I need to quickly throw him away to react fast enough. Of course, I've never made it out of one of these situations in time and always end up dying, forcing me to restart the entire mission. Despite all of these complaints, which are minor to be honest, the game is still a truly elite title. Rockstar has made the Western genre relevant again and here's hoping for a sequel.… Expand

    I quickly get bored of sandbox games as the novelty wears off and this game was no different. For me the initial excitement of being chucked into a new GTA world with horses wore off quickly (here we go again) and I instantly had no interest in the storyline. Why the good score? I stumbled across a group of outlaws attempting to hang someone, I tried (and failed) to shoot the noose and by the time I re-loaded it was too late. I killed all the bandits and was left with a sobbing husband kneeling below his wife. I shot the noose (I actually missed again as I'm a bit special) to get her down and felt guilt, I could of changed the outcome. From that moment I was sucked into a dynamic living breathing world, intent on wiping out all the scum and the main plot has finally got me interested after an initial misfire.… Expand

    Great voice acting, engaging story, beautiful cinematics and very well paced. I thoroughly enjoyed this game, despite the aiming system being a little too easy. This is Rockstar grown up.

There is an awesome amount of detail in this world such as weather affects, um, when you shoot somebody blood will come out of that limb and since R* added Euphoria it makes it almost like a movie. You shoot somebody on their left arm their gonna fall to their left and try and crawl away. Sound- guns sound real, horses sound real as they travel over wood bridge, dirt roads, etc. especially if you have surround sound. Story- is about a bounty hunter after his "fallen" comrades. John Marston (main character) used to be in a gang, he changed his ways and now the U.S. government kidnapped his wife and son in exchange for his comrades. The story introduces you to amazing life like characters that, throughout the game you start to feel as if you start to know them, you have feelings for these characters, and its amazing. By the end you feel all these emotions for John. The ending leaves you gasping for breath, and your heart racing, this game is a work of art. Setting- Red Dead takes you into Texas, Mexico, and West elizabeth (which is a north eastern U.S feel to it) The detail from the towns in the middle of nowhere, huge pillars of rock in mexico to the Woods and plains of West Elizabeth is amazing and a grand scale. Another great thing about this game is replay value, im currently playing the story for the 2nd time. And i still love it. There are so many challenges that aren't to hard but not easy, and really serves you a balanced challenges. CONS- there are some frame rate issues where i would be sprinting into a town and it would go slow mo, if u will. adn when skinning or picking a flower in a bush, john will go through the plant or his horse, which dampens the experience for a minute. Other than that its a great game. This is a Grand Masterpiece of gaming. You must play this game, i give it a 9.6 out of 10… Expand

    'Red Dead Redemption' is a must buy. Every Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 owner should play this game (as long as they're over 18 and not a member of PETA). The only reasons I can't give this game a full 10 are the annoying glitches, connection issues and the lack of difficulty.
