This game is alright, I mean the gameplay is great, the AI is great, but sometimes the games grapics get choppy, but this wouldn't stop a determined gamer. I think its still a great shooter to pick up.

Great Campaign with an awesome story line, Quake 4 kept me interested from start to finish. The online while non-existant for several years, was very very fast paced and competitive, however I could personally not play with anyone outside of my country due to lag issues making the game unplayable. My number one quarrel with Quake is the awful frame rate issues which seemed to plague some of the launch titles. At times the game can run as low as 10 frames however I'd the overall experience runs around 25, possibly less or slightly more. If this would bother you over enjoying everything else Quake has to offer, I'd give it a pass. Overall great game that is slightly hindered by terrible frame rate issues. Expand

i've been playing the Quake series since Quake II. Quake 4 is arguably the best incarnation of any so far. the game is fast and fluid, and the action is spread out nicely. on top of that, you get a nice HD version of Quake II out of the deal. Quake IV isn't without flawless, however. the Graphics seem slightly dated, and the graphics can get a bit choppy and slow. but, its worth i've been playing the Quake series since Quake II. I thought this game was pretty good. Somewhat a take off of Doom. I liked the graphics and gamepl.ay. It is pretty graphic at times:), but that is a good thing for us over 17! I would recommend renting the game (with mixed reviews), but I think it is one you will end up buying!

The reviews have been unduly harsh. I was wary of getting the game but found it to be a fun bit of shooting. It is far better than Perfect Dark Zero... wide spaces, odd landscape, the same sudden violences as Doom 3. If you accept it for the amusing game it is and not for some hypothetical game it is not, then it is really a good time.

Just by looking at the first 3 games its was good. If u ever played it. Now as it continues the story from Quake 2 to Quake 4 its alsome. But if u Have the new gen Xbox360 and you have Quake4 its the best 1st person shooting game. The people that dont have it are missing out.

A very good Sci-Fi FPS, not as good as Halo but better than Doom 3. The Doom 3 graphics engine look very good on the 360. Some textures like walls or floors are a little blurry but the lightning and shadow effects are well rendered. Story and interaction with others characters is better than Doom 3 ( you have to fight often with them like a squad but without controlling it). OK I'm the person that rated Quake 4 as a 410 based on poor graphics. I'm back to right a wrong. Recently I bought a LCD HDTV for my Xbox 360 and I'm playing games in 1080i. I decided to download the Quake 4 Demo (after trading it in a while ago). I can not believe it is the same game. The graphics explode and come to life in HDTV. This is now one of my favorite games. While I havn't tried the multiplayer yet, I can still honestly say that this is one of the best FPS's I've ever played. Excellent controls, gameplay, and graphics, great level designs, and a genuinely dark, brooding environment. By far, the best shooter for 360 that I've played. Suck on it Halo!

For the same reason a reviewer here gave this game a 3 for gore (what did you expect a Disney game?) I'm giving Quake 4 an 810. The graphics are slightly better than Doom 3 on Xbox but the action is this game is non stop. There are many weapons to choose from and the AI is very good. Excellent game. I'm glad I ignored the (few) negative reviews.

Quake 4 plays a lot like Doom 3. It also looks a lot like Doom 3, and sounds like Doom 3... I am enjoying it a lot more than Doom 3 though, even if I'm not really sure what I like better yet. I did really like the fact that Quake 4 continues the story of Quake II. And speaking of Quake II, that game is included with Quake 4 on a bonus disc, so that's just awesome. A really memorable game that seems to get a little repetitive by the end. The multiplayer on pc is really where this game shines. It is a well-done sequel to the legendary quake franchise, but doesn't live up to the depth and quality of the Doom 3 campaign, developed near the same time with the same game engine.

Pretty good FPS that picks up where Quake II left off. The id Tech 4 engine looks good on the Xbox 360 although the frame-rate can drop sometimes. The gameplay is good and the difficulty is challenging on the hardest setting.

Following on in the tradition set down by the original Doom and Quake games, there is little in the way of sandbox style exploration and no character development or RPG elements; just lots of darkened corridors, evil cyborgs and big guns. For this reason some may find it a little old-fashioned, but that's why I like it. A nice looking, straightforward run and gun FPS from the old school.

  1. While there are certainly flaws in the single player and multiplayer, the game’s fantastic visuals and engaging storyline make it a worthy addition to any Quake fan’s library.
  2. The controls are well done, the sound is very good, the graphics carry the horror and surprise well ... if you have not experienced Quake 4 yet and plan on owning the 360, then this is a game that should be in your library.

There's a lot to like about Quake 4: vivid (and violent) visuals, comfortable controls, and a surprisingly addictive multiplayer mode. And as a cool bonus, Activision even threw in a gorgeously high-definition version of "Quake II." So what more do you want?
