If you tossed "Geometry Wars," "Lunar Lander" and "Joust" into a digital blender then the result would come pretty close to Jetpac Refueled.
-
Jetpac Refuelled sports some of the best 2D graphics on XBLA. There’s something about Rare’s art style that really stands out. The colors, backdrops, and character design all blend perfectly together.
-
A wonderful take on an average classic, the original Jetpac. It's more than updated graphics -- it's a whole new game. It's almost 10 times the game as the original, with a great multiplayer mode (and good old achievement points).
-
Yes, it's basic, yes, it's repetitive, but Jetpac Refuelled looks, sounds and plays great, and is well worth the 400 MS Point price-tag, unlike most ‘classic' titles on the Arcade.
-
Maybe it’s the explosive beauty and color of it all, it’s really is a visual delight, it’s true eye-candy. Not only that, but it plays great, it’s fun and it’s extremely challenging, but thankfully, even with all the challenge, it’s nice enough to give us a checkpoint feature so we can pick it up and continue the game later on.

X-ONE Magazine UKIf only all 400-point games had this much attention to detail. [Issue #22, p.115]
-
Put simply JetPac is a classic, and JetPac Refuelled is a wonderful testament to the 1983 game.
-
It’s not an elaborate game, but it does grow on you as you try to progress further through the levels.
