This basic game receives some nice updates in its "refuelled" mode, but it's still best suited for those who hold some shred of nostalgia for the original game.
-
Achievement Point junkies beware; you are likely to break a controller before breaking the 200-point mark on Jetpac.
-
A cheap, but rather lovely remake of the simple shooter that kicked off Rare's legacy. It's a wonderfully playable link to UK gaming's past, and well worth the 400 points Microsoft's charging for it, but way too repetitive to keep you amused for long.
-
But underneath the pretty graphics JetPac Refuelled is pretty much the same game we played a quarter of a century ago. We doubt it'll grip a new generation of gamers as much as it did back in the day but you'll get your money's worth.
-
Easily the weakest Live Arcade game to come out in the past two months, but that's not to say it's bad. At such a cheap price, it's actually a pretty nice package.
-
360 Gamer Magazine UKAs instantly addictive as it was 20 years ago. Updated graphics and gameplay are top notch, but the difficulty and repetitiveness are a bit much after a while. [Issue 25, p.70]
-
This remake has been handled with an unusual level of respect and a commitment to the original, and the graphical overhaul strikes a happy balance between old and new.
-
Jetpac Refuelled has a lot of charm, and the inclusion of the Spectrum original is a nice bit of nostalgia, but the game lacks the depth and intelligence of other arcade games from that era.
-
Official Xbox MagazineEven with Kraftwerk-esque electronic tunes and adequate multiplayer, it feels too much like a mediocre Flash game--making it tough to justify dropping five bucks on the experience. [May 2007, p.77]
