Apr 16, 2013One of the best all-around fighting experiences you’re likely to find—and fans of both DC Comics and Mortal Kombat-style fighters will be blown away by this high-quality brawler of epic proportions.
-
Apr 24, 2013Injustice: Gods Among Us can easily be called one of the best, if not THE BEST, fighting games of 2013. With its addictive story mode and fantastic fighting engine, it is an experience to behold. Fans of Mortal Kombat or any fighting game in general will find something to like here.
-
May 9, 2013Injustice looks great, plays great, and feels like a breath of fresh air for the fighting game genre.
-
May 5, 2013Injustice: God Among Us is a safe evolution of Mortal Kombat. Based on the DC Comics universe, its greatest asset is the deep and innovative gameplay, despite having Mortal Kombat as its starting point.
-
May 5, 2013It takes the best parts of MK but refuses to rest on its laurels, building on a solid blueprint to create a fighting game with its own identity and unique fighting system. It remains accessible but manages to retain a hidden depth, making for a complete package that’s fun to play no matter your skill level.
-
Apr 26, 2013Injustice is now among us and it serves up some sweet justice for DC comics fans that have been waiting for a great fighter starring their favorite comic characters.
-
Apr 25, 2013Injustice: Gods Among Us is a great fighting game that just so happens to be a love letter to fans of DC Comics. Those who enjoy at least one of the two will no doubt get their money’s worth with NetherRealm’s latest.
-
Apr 19, 2013With fantastic presentation, impressive graphics and voice acting, a surprisingly interesting story, a great control scheme, and a huge amount of content, I highly recommend Injustice: Gods Among Us to not only comic book fans and fighting game veterans, but to anyone looking for a game that’s extremely entertaining to play.
-
Apr 19, 2013Incredible storytelling and fantastically executed single-player modes. Even its online offerings, which may not be NetherRealm's best work, are worlds better than the majority of other solutions being floated by Capcom and Namco Bandai.
-
Apr 16, 2013NetherRealm clearly had a blast creating Injustice. The team’s appreciation of the DC universe blends nicely with their well-worn Mortal Kombat formula to create an experience that is a success on both fighting and comic book levels.
-
Apr 16, 2013Injustice is fast, destructive, and extremely accessible without sacrificing its hardcore edge, and its slick visuals and nonstop craziness put it in a class by itself. This fighter is DC and NetherRealm at their finest, and while certain aspects (like Super Moves) wear thin, there’s enough great content here to keep fans busy for months.
-
Apr 16, 2013Injustice: Gods Among Us is as complete a fighting game as I’ve played. It’s set up to cater to both beginner and experienced players and has a story mode that manages to almost completely hide its contrivances. Top-notch animation, voice acting and multiplayer options round out the offering. It’s also a great homage to DC superheroes that comic book fans are sure to love.
-
Apr 17, 2013Despite the fact we’re finally getting Mortal Kombat here in Australia next month, you couldn’t go much better than Injustice: Gods Among Us for your fighting game fix. It feels like a classic NetherRealm game with all the mechanics and balance they’re known for when they bring their A-Game, and it has Batman duking it out with Superman. Honestly, what’s not to love here?
-
Pelit (Finland)May 13, 2013A very good 2D beat 'em up, where DC Comics's legendary superheroes and villains battle it out. The story explains why the wildly different characters are evenly matched, but it still feels a bit odd. [May 2013]
-
May 12, 2013Gods Among Us provides a robust cast of DC fighters, gameplay mechanics that cater to gamers of all levels, and an extensive amount of content that will leave gamers delighted.
-
Apr 23, 2013Injustice’s greatest strength is that it makes you feel powerful regardless of your skill level. Even when you are struggling to overcome a series of grueling attacks, breaking through that with a well-placed combo or ridiculous supermove brings out the wonder in controlling an iconic hero or villain.
-
Apr 22, 2013Picking up perfectly where Mortal Kombat left off, Injustice: Gods Among Us cements NetherRealm's reputation as a purveyor of fighting games with real heft and substance. A heroic effort that'll put a smile upon the face of all but the most demanding DC fighting fan.
-
Apr 19, 2013As much as I enjoyed the game’s outlandish story, intense combat, and various modes, I can only imagine how much more it will mean to someone who is also a DC junkie. Instead of asking for Sub-Zero to appear in Injustice, I am now prepared to ask for Aquaman DLC in the next Mortal Kombat. Because Aquaman feeds his enemies to sharks. And that’s pretty badass.
-
Apr 19, 2013A competitive fighting title that weaves a compelling narrative between its super-powered clashes, Injustice is accessible yet deep, and the fan service and character roster on display should see it garner a wide audience.
-
Apr 18, 2013This is not the best fighting game of the generation, but it is one of the most enjoyable, fun and spectaculars we've played in a while. Its fast and dynamic pace and its amount of content are two of the main reasons why DC fans will love this title.
-
Apr 16, 2013The visuals are universally great with detailed character models featuring natty costumes and appropriate attention to detail. The storyline really should appeal to DC Comics experts and novices alike for its tale of superhero battles.
-
Apr 16, 2013Not to be confused with a re-branded Mortal Kombat, Injustice: Gods Among Us is a very good beat'em up able to both honour the original characters and provide a solid and deep fighting engine. A large roster of fighters (24) and a good multiplayer support are the other highlights of this fine effort by NetherRealm Studios.
-
Apr 16, 2013A fast, fun and spectacular fighting game, rich in content and charisma. NetherRealm has a winner on his hands, but some not-so -smart gameplay choices and a wonky netcode stop it from reaching true excellence. Still, you can kick Supes'ass! That's enough of a reason to play Injustice.
-
Apr 18, 2013A very good beat´em up developed by the same guys that delivered the excellent last edition of Mortal Kombat. A must-have for fans of the DC Comics universe and a very interesting option for enthusiasts of fighting games.
-
Apr 18, 2013A wonderful fighting game. Netherrealm managed to combine all of the good Mortal Kombat had to offer, with the charm of the DC Comics, without incident. Online and offline it provides great over-the-top gameplay for starting players, and offers enough depth for the more experienced players. This depth can be found in the form of interactive levels, individual moves and powers. Aside from that it offers a huge amount of different and unique characters to play with, and lots of content that'll satisfy any DC-fanatic.
-
Apr 16, 2013Injustice: Gods Among Us is a good fighting game and better tribute to DC Universe. Features a varied cast with unique abilities, frantic gameplay, great artistic design and too many offline modes.
-
Apr 18, 2013Injustice: Gods Among Us is an enjoyable fighting game that offers a deep combat system, an interesting campaign, and spectacular graphics.
-
Apr 16, 2013Story mode is a pleasant surprise, but the real reason to play is the thrill of harnessing the god-like powers of some of the most overwhelming figures in the comic realm. The jury’s still out on whether or not it presents a fair fight, but it’s definitely an enjoyable one.
-
Jun 17, 2013If you’re not into your comic books then a lot of the games appeal might be lost, but for fans of the genre and DC, this is a match made in heaven.
-
Jun 9, 2013A great fighting game, even if you aren't familiar with the characters of the DC Universe. The cut-scenes look terrible compared to the actual fights, but the fluid animations make up for this minor complaint. The online system is solid, and you really feel like a superhero when you pull of a great combo.
-
May 21, 2013There are quibbles along the way but Injustice: Gods Among Us is exactly as much fun as it needed to be and I can happily recommend it. And as a final point for fans who don’t know already, the tie-in comic is (whisper it) pretty darn fantastic
-
Hyper MagazineMay 9, 2013Despite some balance issues, Injustice is spectacular and satisfying, and should please many a DC comics fan. [June 2013, p.61]
-
May 8, 2013Injustice: Gods Among Us was a pleasant, if not grammatically correct, surprise that evidently holds great admiration for the source material. DC fans can count this as close to a Justice League game or movie as we’ll see for a good while and there are plenty of incidental details for aficionados to spot.
-
May 2, 2013In closing, it is worth picking up and mastering this game. There is a level system and unlock system that will reward players as they progress with multiple costumes, multiplayer badges and icons for your character. For any fan of the DC universe there is a huge array of characters with a great story mode and each has their own little story in the battle mode.
-
May 1, 2013An outstanding fighting game that scores not only because of its attractive setting with more or less popular DC comics heroes, but mainly because of its well-made system, interactive arenas, and its casual/hardcore accessibility.
-
Apr 30, 2013A well balanced game, suited both to fighting games lovers and DC Comics fans, with an outstanding story mode; actually one of the best written and developed stories in the genre.
-
Apr 29, 2013It’s superhero heaven and a fine tribute to some of the most recognized characters from the DC Comics universe.
-
Apr 25, 2013It's not going to be the new gold standard in fighting games, but Injustice is a fun time, especially with friends, and you can't ask for more than that.
-
Apr 24, 2013Another good fighting game made by Ed Boon and NetherRealm, with enough personality and new features to distinguish itself from Mortal Kombat.
-
Apr 23, 2013It doesn't match the level of finesse exhibited in their first game, but Injustice is still a stellar example of writing - especially in a fighting game - and with Story mode, Arcade mode, Versus matches and the STARS Labs it offers a ludicrously large amount of value for money.
-
Apr 22, 2013Injustice: Gods Among Us is big dumb fun, and anyone who digs superheroes or virtual fisticuffs will find dozens of ways to enjoy NetherRealm's latest fighter.
-
Apr 22, 2013This is a fizzy, exciting brawler that’s easy to pick up and even easier to like, all bolstered by an authentic and reverent adaption of the DC Universe.
-
Apr 21, 2013NetherRealms uses their Mortal Kombat engine very well to create a game that doesn’t feel like a simple license job. There are lots of winks for the comic enthusiast with this great party fighter, but the seasoned fighter veterans may find it a bit shallow.
-
Apr 20, 2013Injustice’s traditional one-on-one structure, coupled with its thorough ingame documentation, is a casual player’s dream. We want to play fighting games, too. It’s nice to see a developer recognize that.
-
Apr 19, 2013As much as progress NetherRealm has made - and improving on MK9 was a difficult feat which I believe they succeeded in doing - the problem is that the face of fighting games has changed even just in the last year and a half that I'm not sure Injustice is a comparative step forwards when you look at everything else.
-
Apr 19, 2013Mechanics and content can make or break a modern fighting game, and Injustice delivers on those fronts.
-
Apr 18, 2013The well-told campaign is a little short, but this is compensated for by a plethora of things you can do offline. Unfortunately none of the extra battle modes are available in versus mode, while the online battles suffer from balancing issues. Nonetheless: If you’re tired of Street Fighter or Tekken it’s time to let the superheroes take care of business.
-
Apr 16, 2013I rolled my eyes more than a few times during the story mode, but the ridiculous super moves offset that stuff and make it a pretty good time.
-
Apr 16, 2013But aside from the solid and deep fighting game mechanics, my biggest kick came simply from taking control of these familiar heroes and villains and seeing how their unique and iconic abilities had been translated into game form.
-
Apr 16, 2013Injustice is a deep fighting game which is a lot of fun. The combat system is quite different from Mortal Kombat and offers a really good experience. The Story mode is the best ever seen in a fighting game.
-
Apr 16, 2013Plenty of good content, but without astounding visuals, and a complex combat system. This is Injustice: Gods Among Us. Story Mode is long but also cheesy, and the roster is definitely enjoyable, but there are balance problems.
-
Apr 16, 2013A licensed fighting game done right, sure to please fans of the brand and the genre. Its accessibility lets casual gamers or avid comic readers enjoy themselves, while retaining all the depth that fighter enthusiasts crave. If you've ever wanted to witness Batman and Superman duke it out in a brutal showdown, there's no better time than now.
-
Apr 26, 2013The gameplay is a slightly more evolved version of the MK reboot, so if you loved that, you’ll like this and the plot is compelling and pushes the T rating pretty far, so folks turned off by MK vs. DC U’s toned-down violence have nothing to fear here.
-
Games Master UKMay 9, 2013Hardly a keeper, but fun and undemanding all the same. [June 2013, p.63]
-
Apr 22, 2013The way you look at Injustice: Gods Among Us depends on the way you felt about the last Mortal Kombat. If you had fun, you'll like the new game. If you wanted something more serious and demanding, you'll be disappointed. But all in all NetherRealm is in shape and still is a worthy competitor in the beat'em up genre. Injustice delivers spectacular moments that should attract a new audience, and this type of games will definitely benefit from that.
-
Apr 16, 2013Most importantly, it’s fun. The super hero-infused setting though opens it up to players who aren’t quite as enthusiastic about fighting games, but they’ll get the least out of it. Most players will, instead, get their kicks from having their friends around on a beery Friday night; finally putting paid to the question of which spandex-clad metahuman would win in a fight.
-
X-ONE Magazine UKMay 22, 2013Great presentation and a wealth of content make up for technical shortcomings. [Issue#98, p.74]
-
games(TM)May 20, 2013There's a good fighting game here, one that'll support drunken post-pub scraps as well as tournament play, but Injustice: Gods Among Us doesn't quite match up to its stellar NetherRealm predecessor. [Issue#135, p.104]
-
Apr 19, 2013The story mode is highly entertaining, but unless you plan on venturing online or having your friends over for some multiplayer beatings, you might find the amount of content a bit lacking.
-
Apr 19, 2013It's slightly lightweight, sure, but Injustice will slap a grin on your face for a few days and then entice you back with the promise of idiotic multiplayer battles.
-
Apr 18, 2013A lack of decent advanced tutorials keeps the bats firmly separated from the boys and the likelihood of extensive replay fairly slim. But for fans of the DCU, it's show-stopping fun. It's the game we deserve, if not the one we need right now.
-
Apr 16, 2013A hard-hitting fighter that plays to the hardcore crowd. Its creative use of background objects coupled with satisfying fighting mechanics make it both fun and distinct from it contemporaries. But for newer players, the minimal instruction modes and disappointing story provide little incentive for your sustained interest. And the absence of replay support is a loss for everyone involved.
-
Apr 16, 2013Even though NetherRealm Studios has packed Injustice: Gods Among Us with fanservice and added a really nice single-player mode, the fighting engine just isn't good enough.
