It's functional backgammon on your 360, and not much else. But if you're into the game, that's probably good enough.

The computer is a challenging opponent, and often you'll feel that its dice are loaded, but this proves to be a nice way to learn backgammon. Without a tutorial mode though, it's trial by fire. But hey, you get what you pay for.

If you are really into strategically thinking board games, or already into Backgammon then this is the perfect game for you. It has some pretty good single player, and even better Xbox Live play.

Those who truly enjoy backgammon or want to try it for the first time may be interested in this game because of the low price (400 MS Points), but anyone else should use their MS Points elsewhere.

There isn’t anything “wrong” with Hardwood Backgammon, but the fact that there really isn’t much to do beyond the standard backgammon game is a real letdown.
