    + 1 for adding to the Halo storyline, but honestly, this game is bad. The only redeeming feature is that the UI of the menus feels like you're using a dataslate. Otherwise this game is terrible. It really is only a cash grab with the micro sales, which themselves really anger gamers alone. Until companies realize micro sales push customers away, they can enjoy the negative reviews.

    This game is nothing more than a poorly-made, micro-transaction cash machine, draped in Halo clothing. It is a terribly boring, repetitive, clunky shooter with terrible controls. I'd expect this kind of game from EA, but I'm embarrassed for the Halo franchise that they let this out the door. The cutscenes and story are also poorly done, with the whole thing feeling like a massive insult to fans of Halo. Honestly, the micro-transactions is a great way for Microsoft and 343i to tick off and alienate their prior fans. All games with micro-transactions automatically get -5 from me as WE'VE ALREADY PURCHASED THE GAME - WHY WOULD WE PAY MORE for more functionality?… Expand

    Spartan Assault should have been left where it belongs – on mobile devices. Xbox version is exactly the same and the game does not work so well on a big screen. [04/2014, p.67]

    Unless your soul bleeds Mjolnir, or the Church of Halo-tology demands you play it on pain of death, give Halo: Spartan Assault a pass. There's more fun to be had in one minute of any other Halo game than there is in all of Halo: Spartan Assault.

    I thought that Spartan Assault would be a great addition to the Halo universe while expanding the audience with a new genre. In the end the short campaign, lack of storyline, and ease of gameplay make this a tough sell.
